Guest Reviews
- Marla (8/5): Had booked for my daughter as she had school near by-she felt safe and said front desh person was nice - Refrigerator and microwave a nice feature Room was dated but clean
- Jay (1/5): Excellent customer service - Location value friendliness We had to get extra pillows and the front desk even offer to bring them to us excellent customer service
- Clinton (8/5): -
- H (10/5): - Everything was clean Nothing
- Harold (10/5): -
- Plunkett (9/5): Affordable retreat - .everything was really clean and the staff was very accommodating. Somethings needed to be updated like the flooring and bathtub BUT overall everything was nice.
- Graham (10/5): -
- Sandra (9/5): -
- Tad (8/5): - Great staff good room. Bed was quite uncomfortable
- Gary (8/5): -
- Gary (8/5): - clean pillows were terrible
- Tamara (10/5): -
- Kerri (10/5): I'll be back several times throughout the year! - Wonderful experience! I found my new motel for monthly travels!
- Susan (3/5): - The room smelled musky & wierd as soon as we walked in....Room was clean so that was good and staff was friendly...but rooms need a complete update....toilet wouldn't flush completely and the hot water literally had to run for 15 min. Before getting Warm...also the towels were thin and dingy. I guess that's what you get these days for that price...room being clean was the most important thing to us and that it was...we probably would not stay here again.
- Jakub (7/5): Fair deal for the price - This is what you get for the price. It was alright. Nothing fancy but enough to get a good sleep on a trip. The bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly. Don’t forget to bring 100 USD in cash for security deposit. It’s dated, but hey, does it really matter?
- Edward (8/5): -
- Jennifer (1/5): Looks, smells and fells rundown! Staff is not friendly. - Not advertise or allow an outside company (booking.com) to advertise on your behave. The ONLY reason we chose this property was due to traveling, not having the best cell phone connection and it being g advertised as open 24 hours. Buyer beware that’s NOT true! We had not made it to town until early into the morning only to find out our reservation was cancelled because we hadn’t checked in by 9pm. While driving I had little to no service, I can’t check my phone while I’m driving to know they cancelled our reservation. Leaving me scrambling to find a place. Thankfully there was a place not to far that took us without a problem! Plus it was cheaper! Staff was friendly, welcoming and happy to accommodate, unlike the staff at safari who were less then pleased we woke them up durning their ‘open 24hrs shift’
- Jesenia M (9/5): -
- Robert (9/5): -
- Beth (8/5): - We were in town visiting family and just needed a place to sleep. It was very clean and the gentleman who was on site was very helpful and friendly
- Sabine (7/5): -
- Mark (2/5): Don''t stay Here - Nothing Room was ok but the bathroom was a wreck. grout coming apart in the shower. tiny towels that could only dry a child.
Lots of workers in big trucks coming and going in loud trucks at all hours of the night.
The street through this town of Winston, Or is a major highway for lots of logging and belly dump bid diesel trucks that start driving thru the town at 5 am in large numbers
- Liberty (10/5): -
- O'Connor (8/5): I stay here whenever I am in town each year. It is always confortable and clean -
- Xander (10/5): - The staff us very friendly everytime i come here and the rooms are comfortable
- Robert (2/5): - It should be a lot clearer that they want 100 dollars cash deposit. Did not stay there.
- Darrell (1/5): -
- Xander (10/5): - I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the rooms
- Thelin (10/5): Loved it! - A very nice basic room with everything you need and expect . The room was larger than most rooms Ive stayed in. Check in took 2 minutes! Quiet! And a great diner kitty-corner across the street
- Xander (10/5): - I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the rooms
- Lockhart (10/5): -
- Kenneth (9/5): With the exception of the loud air unit, the room was clean and comfortable .was clean - The room was clean and well lit.
The owner was friendly and angry all of our questions. The air conditioner was too loud.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Bang for my buck - Great room for my budget. Needed a place to just sleep in during a long road trip. I was very pleased with the comfort and cleanliness of the room, as well as the amenities. Very happy!!
- Brandon (10/5): - Older hotel but is keep clean. They are quick to help with anything.Family owned and operated. Will definitely stay again.
- Brian (8/5): -
- Paulo (10/5): - I would like to thank Rick from staff for the outstanding reception and support during my stay
- Caren (1/5): HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT - Nothing Got to the hotel after traveling for 12 hours and they had cancelled my reservation??? They said they emailed me! They were trying to get more money for the room. Very bad experience! Will never use Booking.com again because of this. I would suggest that you eliminate the Safari Inn from your offerings.
- Timothy (9/5): -
- Heather (9/5): Great - The location was excellent Beds could be a little softer
- Deming (7/5): I would recommend this motel to my friends - Nice location and it felt safe
- Frank (2/5): - My opinion, this is the bottom tier of budget motels. The property is aged although there appears to have been some attempt at improving it. Still the room smells of something worse than mold, mold is in the bathroom, toilet barely flushed, carpet was torn and patched, and the list could go on. It sits in a strange location in what appears to be a poor residential area about a block from town. Cars speed on the street outside the window. Not what I had expected based on other reviews.
- Josefina (9/5): Superb - Location, and the front desk, very accommodating Sink was not draining in the br rm 101
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Location is great, close to Wildlife Safari. Clean, had a coffee maker. Front desk was professional, responsive.
- Josefina (9/5): Superb - Location. Location location Sink was draining really slow
- Susan (10/5): - A quiet little place . Just right down the street from wildlife Safari .
- Donna (8/5): The room was clean, bed was comfortable. TV small, but ok. - Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Office person very nice. I do like when a hotel/motel has a lobby to go into and offers a light breakfast. Even just coffee/tea, juice, bagels and or pastries. But for a 1 night stay, it was fine
- Michelle (10/5): Nice local motel value - Very friendly. Let me check in a little early. Older property with sluggish plumbing but clean and well maintained. Felt safe. Pretty quiet besides a little road noise to be expected. Tried to book again for week later but it was full. Great place to catch up on sleep.
- Josue (10/5): - Restful sleep and proximity to everything I needed. I would definitely stay again.
- Devin (6/5): - All in all it was an ok stay. Just be aware Expedia does not point out the 100$ damage deposit is cash only once you reach this establishment.
- Wanke (1/5): Bad - I did not like it because it had cockroaches Same as above
- Sherry (7/5): Good -
- Karges (6/5): I was glad to be leaving. - I left early in the morning so I didn't have breakfast there. The shower didn't have water pressure. The air conditioner didn't work and I was upstairs so I had the window open just to cool down. The TV only has 3 working channels so that was disappointing. Was kept up all night due to the police doing their job in the parking lot all hours and arguing with other hotel guests.
- Jacob (6/5): - Nothing terrible just a very outdated place. And there was no coffee pot. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere that didn’t have coffee.
- Mary (7/5): Great - Not many people Diverted Traffic behind Inn because of road construction
- Summer (8/5): Very good - Mold in bathtub
- Mitch (6/5): - They check-in and check out was easy. The staff was very polite
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - Beds were comfortable. Could use more pillows. Staff was very helpful. Had to call to fix TV reception & he came right away. It is an older hotel, towels were thin, showerhead didn't spray good, room walls creaked. At least heater worked. No chain on door.
- James (10/5): - Everything
- Linda (9/5): I've stayed in muck more expensive places that were not nearly as clean or comfortable as this. - The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Rick was super friendly and customer-oriented. For the price, I could not have asked for more. The only issue I had was that the tiling in the tub surround needed regrouting. Other than that, there was nothing to dislike.
- Christie (10/5): - The owner i think was extremly nice and helpful. Would stay here again.
- Badr (1/5): Bad - At the time I was making reservation, the webpage said it is the last vacant room left The owner rented the room despite my reservation. Sent a text saying no check in after 9:30. I didn't see text because I was driving. When I arrived @9:40 I rang the bell. The owner came and from behind the door glass window said he cancelled the reservation because last check in at 9:30. and he sent me a text.
- Sara (10/5): - The staff is very very helpful. Not only did they go out of their way to fix stuff in the room for us, but my daughter left her favorite baby blanket there and they were more than happy to mail it to us. Thank you so much!
- Richard (1/5): Skip this dive - Requires 100 cash deposit not listed under the price it's listed with facilities and policies. I didn't have 100 cash on me dude told me I could go the atm at the 711 across the street. The office was quite odorous and I was wanting to stay overnight with my family not shoot smack with a prostitute so I bailed out. Better places for cheaper just down the road in Roseburg.
- Eve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Good room deal - The staff were very friendly, nice and proffesional. I liked that it was a good deal just for a place to lay my head for a few hours. Traffic noise from the highway but the air conditioner heater made noise to block it out but kept shutting off even when it wasn't on auto for some reason. I would still stay there again.
- Eve (10/5): Exceptional - They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, I appreciate it. I will make them my go to motel, when I'm in town and need to stay over.
- Mfulton7 (7/5): may stay again. - Hot water and a comfortable bed. Temperature of the room was very cold when we entered.
- David (7/5): Good -
- Dianna (7/5): Good - The bed was very comfortable. Pillows were nice. Staff was great. It was a good stay It's an older complex. It was basic but has all the needs for a comfortable stay. Enjoyed staying their.
- Viktor (10/5): - Everything is fine, hotel like usual.
- Lee (5/5): Low price, but I I don’t think I would stay again. - Location It was pretty run down and the rooms needed some definite updating. And the towels were very dingy. The price was low, so I can understand it not being new. But it could have been better.
- Keith (8/5): - .
- Don (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jena (5/5): Passable -
- Xander (10/5): - The people who run it are very friendly and its kept bery clean
- Xander (10/5): - People who run it are very friendly and its a very clean place
- Debby (5/5): Very dated, but only motel in Winston - The only reason I booked this property was to visit family who just moved to Winston. Their home isn't set up for guests, yet, so we booked this motel. It's the ONLY place to stay. I didn't have high expectations, so that's a good thing. The "owner" who checked us in was very pleasant.
Shower pressure was fine and no problems with hot water.
The internet worked great. Nice fridge and microwave. We bring our own coffee maker, but they do provide one. The motel is very dated-- like 1970's. The rooms are adjacent to a road that is rather busy. There are homes right across the street, so we had to keep our curtains closed for privacy. Lots of traffic noise!
As we entered our room, it had an unpleasant smell-- like old mildew. If the room hadn't been clean, we would've turned around and left. The bed was really hard, so it made my back hurt. I wish they had King beds. Sharing a queen (really seemed like a double bed) wasn't comfy for the two of us.
The walls are very thin, so I didn't sleep much the second night. Our neighbor decided to have their TV on all night long! I had to put in ear buds hoping to drown it out.
The bathroom, toilet and bathtub/shower were clean, so we made the best of it. The room isn't cheerful at all. Old furniture, hard bed, table and two chairs. Fridge and microwave. TV was fine, though it was satellite so limited shows to watch. We would not book this again, preferring to drive 10 minutes to Roseburg.
- Gay (6/5): Pleasant -
- Joseph (8/5): - Staff was friendly and available when needed. The place was generally clean. Room was big with fridge and microwave. A lot of noise from trucks on the road nearby.
- Misti (9/5): Superb - Location, quiet, clean, and roomy. N/A
- Jason (8/5): - The owner was more worried about someone, that don't smoke, not to smoke over and over and over again, than getting me a room.An the room already smells like a cigarette.
- Kerry (3/5): STAY NO MORE - TV NO SINGLE, THE BED WAS LIKE A ROCK
- Rayanne (10/5): - Perfect overnite stay. Excellent customer service I needed help with my TV connection was fixed promptly.
- Edward (9/5): Superb -
- Xander (10/5): - Nothing super unique just a nice motel with nice people
- Jordan (10/5): Wild Animal Safari - Clean quiet and very attentive owners. Great location and highly recommend this place Everything was perfect
- Ernest (7/5): A too short but pleasant experience. Still love Yellowstone 6 time visitor in less than 20 years - Would have stayed longer if it was available but it was Labor Day weekend prior. The continental breakfast was best ever for that type! Also the inside lobby was a mixed blessing. I love animals so it was kind of nice to see them on display and know when the owner probably hunted them it was a different era but also sad. Seeing the real animals at Oregon Zoo and Safari West in Winston was more pleasant. Real strong mix on lobby. Otherwise, a pretty great experience. I would rate it No 2 or 3 of the 7 hotels we stayed at on this trip!
- Christie (10/5): Exceptional - The check-in process was simple and easy. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The hotel owner is very nice. The hotel felt safe and secure. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
- Rajasekhar (8/5): Very good -
- Nola (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jessica (4/5): - I found it very worrisome that i hadnt used my credit card in weeks but then the moment i use it at safari inn i had multiple fraudelent charges attempted within the week.
- Nancy (8/5): - Considering the price and the location, the Safari Motel worked well for us.
But the towels! The surface resembled a nail file. So rough. I understand that costs today probably make it difficult to give guests soft towels, but maybe they could be a little softer?
- Mitchell (5/5): Passable -
- Shawna (10/5): - The staff memebr was very kind and helpful. The room was large and had all of the amenities we were expecting. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.
- Sherry (6/5): Pleasant - Close to area needed to visit. Old dreary decor. Pricing was high for value of room comfort.
- Owen (7/5): Good -
- Amber (8/5): My son and I really enjoyed our stay here. I would stay again. - I picked this motel because of the location for our day at the Wildlife Safari. It was perfect for that. My son and I did a roadtrip for a week, staying at a different place just about every night. According to my son, this one had a best WiFi. The room was a really good size. Also, the staff was really helpful. I don’t really have anything I didn’t like. It was a little outdated, but I was fine with it and thought it was a very fair value.
- Meng-ting (5/5): Passable - Cheap and super close to wildlife Safari. Staff is super friendly AC unit is located at the bottom close to the ground and next to fridge resulting in poor circulation of air. Super hot
- Lilian (10/5): - I’m a huge fan of older motels that have been kept up, and this is a gem. It’s spare but comfortable, clean, and comfortable. I’ll be back!
