Guest Reviews
- Manami (6/5): - Yea
- Lindsay (8/5): - I enjoyed the university campus gardens and facilities. My room was adequate and I had the good fortune of having the apartment (5 private bedrooms) common areas to myself. With regard to Fremantle, it was a handy location
- Graeme (4/5): - I found it noisy and shared amenities
- David (10/5): - Quiet and tidy in lovely tree/bush setting.
Good bus transport
Not designed as a tourist hotel. More for University people
No walking distance shops or anything
- Rodger (10/5): - Excellent value for money. A slight let down having only ceiling fans on a 37 degree day but the cool breeze at night made it comfortable. A good place to stay but a lot of walking.
- Connor (8/5): A hidden gem for backpackers in Perth - If you're willing to travel while you're in Perth this the place to be. The campus vibe is refreshing at the end of the day and makes it a pleasing place to recharge. Whilst on site, check out the Murdoch Library for getting some work done and exploring the wealth of knowledge.
The accommodation is a shared house style. Bring your own washing detergent if you wish to use the on site laundry ($3 for the washer/dryers each)
If you require EV charging there is a charger near carpark 13 (see plugshare - you'll need to get in touch with the REV Network at UWA to use it). The EV charger is a 20 minute walk from carpark 6, so plan accordingly. If staying again I'd bring an electric scooter or similar.
My only disappointment was the lack of sustainability incorporated into the accommodation. Suggestions for improvement include EV charging in carpark 6 to encourage students and visitors to utilise EVs and also the implementation of a 3 bin system for the share houses.
I will definitely be staying again and thank all the helpful staff at the Murdoch University Village who were always willing to help and very friendly. See you again next time!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great value for money. Large 5 bed room apartment with 2 bathrooms was great value. Peaceful setting with large balcony overlooking bushland.
- Bronny (10/5): - This was simple, convenient and cost effective accomodation. The staff were lovely and I had everything I needed for a quick Perth visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Prompt response when hot water failed. Staff always helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): All right for 1 night - Room very basic share shower all right for one night. It was very hard to find at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great today, basic amenities. Awesomely hot shower with amazing water pressure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I HAD A EXCELLENT STAY AT MURDOCH UNI VILLAGE, THE PRICE IS VERY GOOD & THE UNIT IS NICE.
GREAT LOCATION AS ITS SO CLOSE TO EVERYTHING.
THE STAFF ARE ALL VERY FRIENDLY & HELPFUL.
I WILL DEFINATELY BE STAYING HERE AGAIN WHEN I VISIT PERTH.
THANKYOU KINDLY
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Crocroach infested. No clarity about checkin procedure. Had to find security to show me checkin location after 25 minutes driving around. Thought I would need to get another hotel as contact no had no response. Would have been solved with a map of where to go. No net. No tv. Accom looked generally nice and modern but counted multiple cockroaches in all rooms every time they were entered, including the shower. Could have been excellent value but these issues bought it down below acceptable limits.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I didn't know that i will be sharing accommodation with others I don't know
- JASON (6/5): - my expensive mountain bike was stolen from the bike rack on my vehicle in their car-park by thieves that cut through a heavy chain securing it to my vehicle. When I informed the office I was told that this had happened a few times before and that other residents had their bikes in a secure bike storage building. Why was I not warned, and why are there no camara's if its happened before?
- N (8/5): - Nice area, good enough for my work close to Murdoch University.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, basic but perfectly suited to our needs on this occasion
- Selvan (10/5): Very good - Great place to stay close to St John of God hospital where I had an appointment. Room very clean and swimmng pool aswell
- Rosie (10/5): Convenient - Excellent. Close to Fiona Stanley Hospital and Murdoch hospital. I would recommend this as a convenient place to stay as a country person.
- Sharpey01 (10/5): Great location. Clean and tidy. - Excellent location. Accommodation is clean and tidy. I will definitely be booking and staying here again.
- Bengee (8/5): Close to where I was going. - Comfortable, clean, great for one person. Plenty of walking space.
- nelly (6/5): Cheap and cheerful - Rooms are basic, however the shared kitchen area had over flowing bins. I know this uni residence has a quick turn around of visitors but the communal area was not serviced.
Aside from that the room was very affordable. Great for a few nights while studying.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to everything - Great location, close to everything. Was hard to find but when I called the office the lady was quite helpful.
- Old Bugger (4/5): Very very unhappy - Checkin at 2pm on a Saturday. Office locked, on-call staff didn't respond to phone calls for 25 mins. When they finally came out, my room hadn't been cleaned, and the replacement room had no key for me till 9am Sunday; they opened with a master key. Stuck inside all day n night on Sat night. Housekeeping staff took all my food out of the fridge and 'we'll look into it!' Which didn't happen. My room was 175/2 in case Murdoch tries to say I am exaggerating. Would I stay there again? Not sure...
- anne (6/5): handy and close to Murdoch hospital and Fiona Stan - didn't realise 1 room connected to 5 others. Don't know if I really like that.
Had to pay $50 bond, was told that would not come out of my account
unless the vacation wasn't satisfactory. Left everything perfectly in order
yet the $50 has been withdrawn from my account, and to date not re-
credited???? Would appreciate a credit soon as possible.
- Caroline (6/5): Typical student accommodation - Its fine but remember facilities are shared, so cheap and cheerful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely Place to Stay - We arrive late, place had been heated up, it was clean and had all the things we needed - Could have an extra blanket.
- Verified traveler (6/5): proximity to the hospitals - We found the closeness to the hospitals very convenient, but shared accommodation doesn't suit us.
- AJ (6/5): Ok accom close to uni - Noisy, shower was freezing cold. Paid for a twin room with double bed but was given a single bed...
- sue (6/5): best for sort stay, walking distance to shops&FSH - suits needs for sort stay when have a appointment for hospital
- Shane (10/5): - Great for single people, maybe no good for couples as shared dorms
- Nick (6/5): Cheap, convenient, great vale accommodation - This represents outstanding value for money. It's cheap, convenient and fairly comfortable. The rooms are cleaned regularly, but cleanliness of the kitchen depends on the habits of those which whom you are sharing. It took me several days to reduce a plague of cockroaches to bearable levels.
- Neill (10/5): Not to bad for the price - Good location very basic but clean and functional
- peter (2/5): The rooms stink - As soon as I walked into the room I could smell urine. Also the road noise kept me up.
- Cracker (6/5): Murdoch Placement accommodation - This is ideal accommodation for interstate students like myself who are seeking budget accommodation close to university and my Professional Experience placement. Close to supermarket an with good facilities I would stay here again and would recommend this to a colleague or friend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Shared Apartment, Clean and Comfortable Room - A share apartment with 5 bedrooms, you'll be sharing with other guest. apartment is nice and clean, room is clean. Take note that it is a university accommodation for students so do expect to have students around the area. It is basic, does not have much like a hotel but for short stay, it is okay. Also the accommodation has a North and South side.
- Sharon (6/5): A young couples stay - With my lack of knowing what a Uni campus was like, we were disappointed.
But was so thankful to have a place to sleep for the night on a comfortable bed so could leave refreshed in the morning.
Oh and the room and shower was suitable for disable person:)
- Ryan (8/5): Ideal for external student accommodation - I arrived really early Sunday morning but was still able to check-in quickly and was helped by the friendly after-hours on-caller.
- Henry (8/5): Good Value for Money - Was looking for a decent place which wouldn't break the bank and I wasn't disappointed. With most options, you'll probably get a bedroom with a shared bathroom and kitchen facilities (including oven, stovetop, fridge and towels etc). Room was spacious and bed was decent. The walls could have done with repainting and the bathroom needed a clean, but for this price in a shared apartment, you can't expect too much.
I should also mention that someone misplaced my Wotif payment, so I had to pay on arrival and get refunded later. I don't know if this was Murdoch's fault, but thought I should mention it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good Value and safe if need cheap accommodation - Would recommend staying in the North apartments as they are newer and more comfortable. They cost only very slightly more than the South apartments but the difference in cost is worth it. The North apartment set up is pretty good with 5 lockable rooms and a shared kitchen and lounge room. I've stayed here a couple of times now when I had to be in Perth for uni and didn't want to spend a lot of money on accommodation. As each room is lockable your gear is safe in your room when you are out and if you need to work / study the rooms have good desk space.
- May (6/5): Budget accommodation acceptable for the price. - University area, outside CBD but OK if drive. Public transport acceptable. Lounge is a bit dusty. Cleaners come every three days only. Bathroom door lock faulty and fixed just before we left. Worst is the radiator provided in each room. Preset to switch off after 2 hours running. Though switched on again, but can't stand the chilling in these 2 hours. We ended up buying our own to keep us warm. But the Residential Assistant or RAs are much helpful and friendly.
- Verified traveler (4/5): This is a shared accomodation of a uni college. - Have to stay with existing students who are living in the house.
- Chi hang savio (8/5): - It is the university dormitory. Room is clean and tidy. A bit hard to find the village administration office. Need to have a car to stay there. There are shopping plaza to either sides of South Street (5 mins.).
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable and Cheap - Murdoch is a practical and reasonable cost accommodation. Its a student residence and the amenities are cheap. Overall, I was happy with my purchase. Thank you.
- Manuel (8/5): Reis Family stay at Murdoch University Village - Room was fine. Simple nothing fancy and did the job. Location was very good - close to shopping & groceries and felt safe. I will book here again - good value for the money!
- Sales Manager (8/5): Nice & functional; affordable for a long stay. - Not the most equipped kitchen but a good clean single room services regularly and with good security. Car park just a touch far from my room but not a deal breaker. Close enough to Coles / Kardinya shopping centre and fast food / bottle-o and Kardinya tavern PLUS Murdoch train station a 15-20 min walk.
- Jahirul (10/5): Nice Location - Great
- Heather (8/5): Good central position close to freeway - Very quiet at night. No traffic or other noise.Slept very well
- Rowena (2/5): Misleading pictures - The pictures of this place are nothing like what it is, it is not new, where they put you is old. I had to clean the grimy marks off the desk myself, there was no fan or air-con, no iron/board, no hairdryer, no bathmat or hand towel although bathroom was clean. This is not a hotel and it is a hot walk to bus from transport & facilities.
