Guest Reviews
- JAY (2/5): horrible - never stayed went to check in and no one was in the office to check me in was there around 30 minutes then left went down the street to another hotel tried calling them and still no answer i ended up staying at another place someone finally called me back 4 hours later to see if i were still booking told them the situation and they apologized saying that they ran to a store
- Tasheema (2/5): - There was a lot of spiders, rooms need to be updated and cleanliness was not good
- Amanda (4/5): Over paid - The stay was ok but they charged me an extra 388.00 for the stay with out telling me. They took ot right off my card the day we left. So i over paid . Ill never go there again.
- Anne (4/5): - This place was awful! The floors in the room were just plywood screwed into the floor rafters. The sofa in the room looked dirty, the bathroom doors were filthy and the towels were thin! I would NEVER stay here again. They need to clean up this place!
- Amy (4/5): - Cabin was somewhat clean. No tub just shower the water ran out of it all over the floor. Curtain in bathroom was sheer and window was ground level. Property was covered in garbage and cigarette butts. Office area was unkept, and very disorganized. Pool was filthy my husband had to clean it to be able to swim in it.
- Robin (10/5): - This property is prime location. 5 minutes to downtown lake george, 1 minute to outlets, 5 minutes to great escape. Everything was excellent. The only negative if I had to say there was one is the property itself needed a little love- other then that all good! I would stay again!!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Our stay was not good. The hotel charged $50 ($100) per day for our Service dog (totally unfair) and that charge was not specified in the hotel information at Hotels.com.
On the other hand, the towels were terrible: very thin, rough, and one of them not clean. The Motel complex was run down and uncared.
I'm not recommend this Motel at all.
- Catherine (8/5): - No coffee in the room and rate very expensive
- Micheal (8/5): - Was around main shopping
- Clint (6/5): - My room wreaked of smoke. There’s an cigarette butt thing outside my room so when you come up the stairs that smell punches you in the face. But other than the heavy smoke smell the room wa good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our stay was great.we really like the cabins, the pool could have been warmer.
- Brian (10/5): - It was a quick getaway for my boyfriend and I and we really liked it and will be coming back in the future.
- Elizabeth (2/5): - The hotel was fine but the room was on the first floor and the second floor and they had a big family with kids that were so loud all night long. We had to cut out trip short since we were not getting any rest with the noise. Very unfortunate
- Michael (6/5): Okay for overnight if nothing else within price ra - Okay for overnight stay , cobwebs in shower , not the cleanest on window sills or corners of room .. noisy near two major highways…in need of a lot of general appearance gardening.. landscaping .. rooms remodeled with least expensive replacements…
- Victor (10/5): - Except for dead flys on window place was clean. Owners seemed friendly and place was pet friendly.
- Michael (6/5): - Big wasp on the bed at check in, another wasp under the toilet seat. Several dead bugs on the bathroom walls. Spiders here and there (but it’s the ADKs so whatever).
Bathroom mirror was real grimy. No fan in the bathroom and the shower just dumps water right onto the floor. No screen in bathroom window so can’t open without bugs.
Sheets scratchy but clean. Mattress underneath stained but no bed bugs.
A/C worked well. Interior wood paneling in good condition. A solid crappy motel that was a little under-cleaned but served it’s purpose as a place to sleep.
- craig (10/5): - Clean and comfortable cottage close to everything.
- lieb (2/5): - Angry staff, in an empty and dirty motel, are trying to get their clients angry too.
Thank you for nothing.
- Jessica (10/5): - The King Hendrick Motel is a quiet, small place to stay in the Lake George area. The cabin we stayed in was well maintained, clean and up to date. The staff at check-in were very friendly. Check out was a breeze. I would definitely stay here again!
- Ashley (10/5): - Really nice well taken care of quiet property with attentive owners and nice and new . I will come back absolutely
- Sheila (4/5): - I like the separate cabin concept and it was clean. That’s all I liked. Only a bed in the room, no other furniture. No coffee maker. No pool open. No curtains so the outside light was shining in all night and kept us awake. Absolutely nothing to do there. When booking, you are under the impression you get your own cabin but that is not the fact. We were bundled with a whole bunch of connecting rooms at first and they charged us $45 extra to have our own cabin which turned out to be a very negative experience.
- Francis (8/5): 4th of July - We had a great time! Front desk was very helpful!
- Stephen (8/5): Quality Stay - I was expecting worse based on the reviews, but the room was clean and comfortable; I quite liked it. Not a lot of frills, but we didn't need them. I really liked the cabin-like feel of the rooms, even those in the main building. The only issue was that when I rolled to the edge of the bed, the frame made a loud sound, which disturbed my son and me during sleep.
- Maria (6/5): - There was no breakfast at hotel and nothing around it.
- Rose (6/5): It was a 4 out of 10 - Cabin was clean complaint was did not sleep for the few days we were there the outside porch lights did not shut off so they came through the window so no sleep and was no way to block them out and we ask for towels for the next night and did not recieve them
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Like the clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice the only problem was our neighbors were out side talking extremely loudly. This made sleeping impossible when the A/C wasn’t running.
- Suzie (8/5): Cozy - The cabin was much smaller than expected. It was super cute and cozy. Bring your own pillow! There were 2 pillows of different sizes. The bed was not very comfortable and the shower was tiny. Ladies shave your legs before you go. However, I would stay again. It was clean and overall a great place to stay. Close to everything.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The people who own this place are rude and they charged an incredibly high rate for a pet the owner hit my car with his hand and then insulted myself in my dog the air conditioner does not work it blows out warm air there was no parking for my vehicle by my cabin while there was for others
- JENNIFER (10/5): Pleasantly surprised - Stayed for a long weekend, selected because of availability and pet friendliness. Was skeptical because of so many bad reviews, but had no issues. Friendly owner, clean and nice location. I would stay here again.
- Timothy (4/5): cheap and no frills - cheap and no frills..
- Verified traveler (2/5): WARNING Horrible experience. - WARNING- not family friendly. Trashy people living in cabins drinking beers outside. Should have read other comments before booking. Motel ran a party with live DJ blasting music all night until 3am got no sleep. We got no warning. Stay away from this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, had Dj July 4th weekend great time, staff and owners great, trolley into town, overall a good stay
- Rebecca (8/5): Quaint and clean - Love the quaint little cabins, very nice! The a/c worked well, the shower head was fantastic, and everything was very clean. The bed was super hard, which some people don’t mind, we aren’t used to it, but it’s new, so no worry about bed bugs. The only disappointment was that the pool wasn’t open, the guy said he didn’t have enough help to open it. This was not a great look, hopefully next time we won’t have that issue. We would also like to say the porch is a great touch, but the driveway needs work.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place I love it and will go again. Great vibes
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Small, outdated, no amenities, not even ice avail!
- Michael (8/5): - It was a very nice place to stay centrally located
- Al (10/5): - I Enjoy my stay there very clean room and the crew was very nice and Polite
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the cabins! Everything was new and had a cozy home feeling. Would definitely return.
- Mary (4/5): - The cabin was adorable, BUT NO WIFI. The pool was run down and dirty. The office was full of cigarette smoke and NOONE WORE MASKS!!! I WOULDNOT STAY THERE AGAIN! Also over-priced for the conditions. Staff was friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is great to stay here a couple of nights. Pool was clean.
- Helene (6/5): - Liked cabins but the cleanliness and they need to fix and add a few things
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It says online that there are upgraded cabins and "regular" cabins. We thought we were getting an upgraded cabin but received a "regular" cabin.(Not the fault of the hotel) It was still very nice. Loved that it was surrounded by beautiful trees that were changing color. The only thing that I wish was different was the option to turn the porch light off. The light was very bright and even though there were blinds on the windows, it still was bright in our room. Other than that, very nice stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The new cabins were very cozy, clean and cute. The older ones could use some work, but looked serviceable.
It looks like there in transition of new management. This place has tons of potential if managed properly.
It was perfectly ok for a weekend stay.
- Tara (8/5): - The individual mini log cabins were great. The veiw was also bueatiful. The area was convenient just minutes from town as well as shopping outlets.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I like the cabins it was a nice comfortable spot for a couple of nighs. The place was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again in the future
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice private cabin. Safe. Good temperature control. Close to a good restaurant (Log Cabin Restaurant)
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Pleasant staff
Said pet friendly then charged me $30 cash
Room has bugs and is dirty
Would not shower here if they paid me to
No shampoo and dirty towels
Definitely not worth the money
- Shane (10/5): Hospitality - Great stay centrally located to all area has to offer. Room was great and friendly management made stay more enjoyable.
- Karen (2/5): - The booking app took our credit card but you did not have a room for us.
Hours of aggregation.
- Holly (10/5): Perfect Getaway - My boyfriend and I were looking for a private getaway from everything and this place was near PERFECT! The room was so clean, AC worked great, very private (we had a king size cabin) Didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked great! The only negative was their WiFi didnt reach down to our cabin. Other than that, we would definitely stay there again! Ann and her husband were ever so nice and very pleasant to us!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super friendly staff beautifull little cabins with all the necesary things. The only thing I would add would be a coffe machine
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff, cabins are very clean and comfortable, very quiet location close to everything
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved staying here. They didn’t offer amenities but the cabins were clean and a wonderful quiet family clean place. We could have our dog and the people were wonderful!!! I would stay there again as a first choice!!
- Joanna (10/5): A surprise stay - I was very unsure about staying at the Kendrick. Then it became home. Anne is the best. The guy that helps with taking care of the rooms is great as well. Note: there was an issue with the wifi but they found a way to fix it. Great customer service.
- Dawn (8/5): Cabin feel - We had a one night booking through hotels.com for this property. We were a bit concerned by some of the other reviews. Our only issue was that the price of our booking did not show up correctly in the properties system. However, we were able to contact hotels.com customer service who contacted the hotel to get this issue resolved. We had a nice detached cabin with a king sized bed. The room was comfortable. The shower was a bit on the small side and the water pressure was a bit lacking, but overall we had a pleasant stay and Ann at the front desk was very helpful with taking care of us!
- Keith (6/5): - Friendly staff. Rooms, while tiny and without frills, were clean. Bed was comfortable. Location was perfect for access to Lake George and Glens Falls.
- Christopher (6/5): - Although I don't overly give high marks for the stay I would consider staying here again. I think my family and I may have just gotten an older cabin. There looks to he new ones being built. The cost for the stay and location are why I would still give this a thumbs up. Besides, you don't go to Lake George and 6 Flags to just sit in your cabin. AC was too notch and the view from out cabin porch was really nice.
- Douglas (6/5): - They were really "out of season" most rooms were not even open.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was very accommodating. The room I stayed in had a good king mattress and good pillows; it always seems that the pillows are somehow wrong in hotels, but these were great! I also loved that the heater was outside and regulated like a house, so the room was a comfortable temp when I arrived and I didn’t have to listen to some weird in-room heater like most places. It was quiet and comfortable, I’ll be back.
- Richard (8/5): - good location near Lake George and also the intertstate
- Robert (6/5): No - Staff was welcoming and friendly. Did not get a cottage. Stayed in a downstairs unit of larger house. Room appeared unfinished. No towel racks. Open cracks in walls, spiders. Door locks wouldn’t latch. No in-room thermostat. Heat controlled somewhere else. Very low water pressure, so shower was not great. Complained and asked for a new room the next day. Was told that was not possible. Asked for a cancelation of second night and refund. Attendant said she didn’t know how to process that. But wait, another room is available. We moved and it was a little better. Not a great experience at all. Not a place to relax and rest. If you just need to crash for the night, fine.
- Keri (2/5): - I paid for a cabin and was given a dirty, unfinished motel room. When I informed the desk, I was told that’s what there is, the cabins are closed for the season. Very unhappy with the room and how the motel handled it, or should I say didn’t handle the situation. The bathroom had spiderwebs, black mold/mildew, huge cracks in the tub, and was missing many pieces of molding. The floor of the room appeared to be new but improperly installed with large gaps in the joints in various places. Looks like they started remodeling (poor quality work) and stopped. It’s too bad because the property looks like it has potential to be very nice. I won’t be returning.
- Joseph (6/5): :/ - No ice machine !!! No cups or shampoo accommodations
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not clean - didn't get the cabin experience - We didn't get the cabin we reserved our room was filthy we had reserved a pet friendly cabin paid extra when we arrived was told we had to pay an additional $30 in cash for each night ... we had to buy bedding to sleep on the bedding was so old and had a horrible order ... dead bugs ... dingy towels ... we left after first night we could sleep in the filth our room was next to a smokers room so that was aweful as well ... looks like the made new cabins in rear maybe that's why ours was so outdated and filthy
- Anne-Marie (2/5): - Stopped one night at this motel during a road trip.. And one night was plenty. The service was terrible. The bed sheets were not clean. The owner apologize and changed them right away. We had no hot water at all. We asked the owner about it. Told us to wait about 10-15 min. We waited about 30 minutes but still no hot water. We asked other custoners about it and they said they had some. I guess it was only our cabin who didn't have hot water. In the cabin there was 2 bedrooms. The rooms were separated by a thin wall. We could hear everything in the other bedroom.
I do NOT recommand this motel. I will never go back there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The cabin I stayed in was brand new so it was clean. But the outside wasn’t pleasant looking but it looks like it’s under construction no complimentary anything shower was cold no drinking or smoking and the cable was kinda funky it had it tho no internet even tho it says it’s free I thought it would be better but it is cozy and clean! It is what it is for the price
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay in. I’m looking forward to stay there in the future
- SharonPironti (2/5): - The room was in deporable conditions. The box springs had mold all over them. No curtains on the windows. The walls were made from plywood. The burn hole in the lamp shade and dust all over it. The Towels were so thin and small. Bathroom door didn't close properly. Cigarettes were in ash trays outside of our room and we DON"T SMOKE. Worst experience I ever had. We tried to find a different hotel to stay in but there was no vacancy. We stayed the night but left on Saturday.
- Jessica (8/5): - Love the new cabins they were amazing! My only complaint was the water pressure in our shower was very low and took a long time for the hot water to heat up but other than that I loved it there and would love to go back. The new owners are doing such a good job restoring the property! Definitely recommend staying here!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, basic room near the lake and attractions. Great for a last minute checkin
- Roger (6/5): Stay at King Hendrick, Lake George. - we did not like the first cabin we were assigned.
Some new cabins have just been built and we asked to be transferred to one of them.
We paid extra, but it was worth it.
The people there were very polite and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No temperature control in rooms. Room layout made it difficult to use mini fridge and microwave. Inadequate number of spaces to park your vehicle.
- Erin (2/5): Terrible, unsafe - This motel is not inhabitable. Outlets hanging out of walls, exposed wiring, a heater with no cover exposing sharp metal, no smoke detectors. We have a toddler and we’re not willing to risk him getting hurt, so we left. They refused to refund our money, offered us an “upgrade” to a cabin that was in just as poor condition. There are much nicer places in this area in this price range. Stay away!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - falling apart
back of cabin being held up by bricks
land slide would happen in heavy rain lol
- Dandai (10/5): - Lots of new updates. I’m coming back to see it all when completed. Staff treats u like family and checks up on you. Albeit it’s not a fancy hotel but cozy & comfortable. Very family like and a great spot for romance! Beautiful backdrop of the mountains & lakes/ponds. Etc!
- Neil (2/5): Camping, not a motel - Checked in to find chipped paint on walls, stains in the shower and no shampoo. Power went out at no fault of the hotel, but with the power out, there was no running water. We asked to leave after the power had been out close to 4 hours and the manager gave us a tough time about it. We asked for a refund, they told us no, even though we had only been there for 5 hours. Fortunately Hotels.com helped us out greatly on the phone and acted like a travel agent getting us better facilities. I strongly urge you To consider many of the other options around them...they are not worth the stay. A motel with no running water is a health violation not a motel. Even camp grounds have running water.
- Siobhan (2/5): Last resort stay - I booked this motel knowing it was a no-frill motel. However, I did expect it to be this bad! First off it was a horrible rain storm when I checked in that took out power until 2am. That’s out of there control I get that. But it was hot as hell! No running water so no toilet, shower, sink. Etc we had to leave every time we had to use the bathroom. Now let’s fast forward to 2am. Power comes back On thank god and to low and behold the toilet does not even work! Now that we can actually get a good look at his place we notice the smoke detector is hanging off the wall, the electric outlet in the bathroom not even in the wall, and the shower looks like a war zone! We will not be coming back here.
Unless you really like roughing it and are desperate for a place to stay I don’t recommend. Oh and I found out after that I paid 70 more than everyone else because of where I booked from.
- Mary Alice (6/5): - Construction underway; noisy, no towels and no one in office to get them
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never stay here worst place ever. - The hotel was was dirty the floors were dirty the sheets were dirty we stayed two days and they never changed the sheets they didn't even empty the garbage for our second day.
- RA (2/5): Not a safe place to stay - During our 1 night stay, somone opened the door to our room, but when they saw us, ran away.
Would not stay or recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - nice place, comfy bed, friendly staff, and easy to get to
- Michael (8/5): Great, basic motel. - A great stay. Very basic but clean room is perfect for us because we spend most of our time out riding our motorcycles. Great staff, very helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointment - They tried to overcharge me for my animal, they weren’t in the office when I tried to check in or out. The room was a little run down. There are no specific areas for your dog to go to the bathroom or to put their waste besides inside your room which is disgusting. The staff were not friendly. I would not recommend staying here. I booked it for a really cheap rate and it was close to where I needed to be so it worked out for the most part.
- Lorena (4/5): - The room smelled like pine cleaner, very strong..I had to open the windows to let the fresh air in. Then the toilet did not flush! I payed for 2 nights, but decided to only stay one night. I would not stay there again. The bed was not very comfortable, but I guess you get what you pay for. The room was 60 dollars per night, there was alot of noise from the road, cars, trucks, etc.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was helpful & very friendly. The room was clean & very comfortable.
- Luis (10/5): Great roadside motel! - I booked this room for only one night, knowing it is a roadside motel, I got exactly what I expected, clean room, towels, shower with hot water, and a comfy king size bed.
I was greeted by a very nice manager, James, who provided all the information I needed.
Wifi worked great and fast, TV in the room was working fine, my room had a mini fridge and a microwave.
This is not a vacation resort, so don't book it and rate poorly it if you are expecting the same amenities as a vacation resort...
- Deborah (8/5): - The room was very nice looking and very clean. The room rates were very affordable for this weekend. Might book here again in the future.
- Guy (2/5): Worst hotel stay ever - They gave outside of cabins a face lift inside was run down.
Its like puting lipstick on a gorilla and calling it a beauty queen. Staff did not clean room or change linin during stay. No soap no shampoo.
( Brought our own but still) towels were wore out. No phone. No cable. No wifi.
Found food in bed. Bed made clunking noises.
Way over priced.
Pictures on their site is a false representation of what was.
I feel ripped off.
Would have taken pics but didnt know i would be able to post them sorry. They would have spoke volumes
- Tammy (8/5): Nice hotel close to attractions!! - I only did an overnight stay to go to the park, nice motel for the price... staff was very pleasant, easy check in!! Cute little motel!!
- Diane (8/5): Good value for your dollar - Well under half price to most other Motels in the area. Newly renovated, if you lover the rustic knotty Pine wood finishing, you will love this Motel. Not centrally located however equal distances to lake George Village and Glen Falls shopping outlet malls. Room comes extremely clean with Air Conditioning, wall mounted flat screen TV& remote control, alarm clock, Wi Fi, Fridge, Microwave, hair dryer, Full size bathroom with tub (Lots of hot water), outdoor swimming pool and lots of outdoor lighting at night. Good value for your dollar! 3+ Star Motel ***.
- George (6/5): - Working on upgrading the cabins. Work still to be done. Very quiet. Need to have better window coverings and a dead bolt on the door.
- Edilson (2/5): - It was really dirty........
- Verified traveler (2/5): Y - First room shamanic smell so bad I had an asthma attack.New room had ad central air not controlled by us it was so cold was told if it was turned down in my room everybody else's room would be hot.worst place ever
- Riaz (2/5): - Dirty hotel , dirty pool. Costumer service sucks . Do be cheap and stay here, because you will definitely regret it. Pay more money and stay at much nicer facility. Remember you get what you paid for.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never again - This motel was dirty..had bugs and was terrible. Springs coming through mattrice it was the worst place I've ever stayed
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleased with my stay - Room was just renovated, could have used a little more cleaning up. Overall though, cute room, nice location, very friendly staff.
- Christy (6/5): Noisy neighbors = poor sleep - I needed a place to sleep as I was a vendor at the LARAC arts festival. I didn't realize the rooms were cabins. That was fine, but my neighboring cabin had NO soundproofing between us, so I could hear the TV they left on ALL night long both nights, as well as the two dogs that barked at every move I made. I also found a bug (it might have been a bed bug? I don't know, but I was disgusted) on my mattress in the morning. The beds were comfortable enough, but the light from the front porch was very bright all night, and the thin white curtain did nothing to block it. I had to put a blanket up to block it out. The room was spacious, though, and was adequate.
- Heather (2/5): Never again - Bed bugs! Urine stained mattress! Moved bed and underneath was old food and a dustpan worth of dirt.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - for the price this hotel was perfect for our stay. We had everything we needed.
