Jessica (8/5): Pleasantly surprised! - My expectations were low since an older hostel. When I arrived, the front desk clerk was kind and spoke to me in my language even helped me bring up my bags to the room. The room had its private bathroom and a small balcony which was a major plus! Bathroom is small, toilet was fine, shower had low pressure. Nothing amazing but good to have in the room. Beds were fine, room wasn’t the cleanest but the location made up for it! If you want to relax THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. The party starts at dark and goes on until 2-3am. I wouldn’t fall asleep until 3am so worked for me. Amazing bars, restaurants and spots to hang. I will be back!

Oliver (10/5): - Die Unterkunft liegt mitten in der Feiermeile Lissabons. Wer eine gute Unterkunft fußläufig zu Restaurants und Bars sucht, ist hier absolut richtig. Ein zimmer mit Blick zum Innenhof ist ratsam, da es abends recht lebendig auf der Straße zugehen kann. Das Personal ist freundlich, jeden Tag wurde das Zimmer und das Gemeinschaftsbad gereinigt. Die Unterkunft ist nicht die neueste, übertraf aber meine Erwartungen. Absolut empfehlenswert für Leute, die am Tag die Stadt erkunden wollen und am Abend das Flair von Lissabon vor der Tür haben wollen. Auch der Preis ist gerechtfertigt.
Tim (10/5): - We had a perfectly adequate small room for a reasonable price. However more attention to maintenance very much needed. In our room the toilet seat wasn’t properly secured and would fall off; the small glass shelf over the bathroom sink was falling from the wall mounts and so tilted it was useless; and one window curtain was missing and the remains of one curtain rod holder was still hanging on the wall. All of these items could be easily fixed with some simple maintenance. Also a few pictures placed in appropriate locations on the wall would enhance the space at very little cost and effort.

Existe um isolamento acustico que impede a entrada de ruidos da rua. Unico percalço é que dependendo do horario o taxi nao vai deixar o passageiro na porta do hotel ja que as ruas estreitas ficam cheias , e sim na rua principal proxima , devendo o trecho ser feito a pé.

Le personnel vient a tout les jours. Il faut jeter le papier de toilette dans la poubelle, mais c'est commun dans ses vieuxs quartier.

Verified traveler (6/5): Old city challenges, but great value and service - Great location and the staff was excellent and helpful. But the property has its challenges. It is hard to find on the alley-like streets of the old town. There is no elevator, and to get to reception is three landings up on relatively treacherous stairs. The bathroom is very small and cramped with a barely working shower. There was a strange, pungent smell emanating from the drains. And the window has s screen that you can’t see out of. Still, for the value price and location and lovely staff, it was a good deal.

O custo-benefício é excelente, especialmente considerando a localização privilegiada, perto de muitos bares, restaurantes e do burburinho da Baixa Lisboa. A pensão é simples, sem luxo, mas muito confortável. Nosso quarto foi limpo todos os dias, tinha aquecimento e ar-condicionado, e o chuveiro era ótimo — com bastante água e temperatura perfeita, o que foi essencial para os dias frios. Um ponto de atenção é que a pensão fica no segundo andar de um prédio sem elevador, e nosso quarto estava mais um andar acima. A escada é estreita, então, se estiver com malas grandes ou pesadas, pode ser desafiador. No nosso caso, como as malas eram pequenas e leves, isso não foi um problema. Recomendo para quem busca um lugar confortável, bem localizado e com ótimo custo-benefício em Lisboa! Brasileiros que estiverem lendo, podem ir sem medo! Adoramos!

CLAUDIA (8/5): Bem localizado no Bairro Alto - Extremamente bem localizada no bairro alto de Lisboa e com banheiro privativo DENTRO do quarto. O acesso ao apto contava com 53 degraus, o que é bastante difícil para subir com malas pesadas, mas o restante foi tranquilo. O interruptor do banheiro fica fora da porta - como quase todos em Portugal, mas esta porta era de correr sobre o interruptor, então era muito engraçado ter que fechar a porta e permanecer por fora, acender a luz, e depois abrir a porta para entrar.

Marianne (10/5): Great stay! - So glad i picked this place even though it is a bit outside of Sintra, so if you don’t have a car you need to Uber it into Sintra which was no problem for me. The restaurant downstairs is amazing and is owned by the same people who are very friendly. There was breakfast in the morning which was put in the fridge for you, it had your room number on it. It came with fresh bread and an assortment of meats and cheese. There was a kitchen which had fruit and condiments. All in all i had a great experience and would recommend this place. Very clean and safe.

Tutto sommato da consigliare a chi non ha troppe pretese e voglia di passare più tempo fuori. Un po' di rumore la notte, ma con i doppi vetri all'ultimo piano andava bene.

The surrounding area is not nice during the day, it looks like we were in a back alley with garbage tins on the street. However at night the street transforms, full with restaurants and bars. Very lively and full of people. I was surprised how the atmosphere changed, it looks quite nice. However bring earplugs, people get very happy and it is noisy.

Need to note two things - first is that the area is very noisy at night and street sounds are load, which means earplugs if you don't want it to bother you. Second - the double bed is 140x190 cm in size, good if you're average size, but can be an issue for the big & tall.

Georgios (8/5): Good Affordable stay in Bairro Alto, good location - I booked the double room (double bed) with private bathroom. The bathroom was slightly small but on the other side, this is right in the centre of Bairro Alto and at a very good affordable price. Also the cleaner was very nice and cleaned the room daily ! The receptionist swere mostly very nice and friendly too. After 12 AM you have to ring the bell to go in, which is ok, but I am only giving 4 stars, because the receptionist the last night reminded me that I need to checkout tomorrow, just because I went to the room late after a night out. He repeated twice the checkout time.

Tatsächlich sollte man als sehr reiner Mensch nicht allzu genau hinschauenden. In der Dusche gibt es Schimmel in den Dichtungen. Dennoch, war unser Aufenthalt sehr positiv beeindruckt. Schneller Check in, super Freundlichkeit, reinigungskräfte sehr nett (Betten müssen nicht täglich frisch bezogen werden), Klimaanlage super Zustand, Lage für uns perfekt. Dennoch: wer es lieber sehr sehr sehr ruhig möchte, der sollte sich eher eine Unterkunft in einem anderen Stadtteil suchen! Im Großen und Ganzen sehr zufrieden.

We had booked a double bed room but the room had 2 small single beds and completely different from the picture. Other than this, everything was good. Room was in touristic area of the city and everything was clean.
Irene (4/5): - Disappointed with the property. The attic room that we received was not matching the image on the website and was too small for a family of 4. It is dated, the shower is missing one door, and water leaks to the floor. The biggest issue - there never was any parking available while it was listed as one of the property amenities.- this was simply a lie! I wouldn't book this place as we were traveling by car. More than that - car access to the area is restricted to taxis only, and other cars entering the restricted section of the old city get a fine. This information should have been provided on the website! The only thanks to the cleaning ladies for clean bedding and attempt to make the room more pleasant.

Dominick (6/5): - Close to everything. Perfect for a 1 or 2 night stay very basic room but clean and mostly comfortable. Staff was friendly. Only real Negative was the shower was clogged and would overflow. It’s an older property but no real complaints I would stay again in a pinch. I would rate it a 7 out of 10.
Alejandro (6/5): Just an OK place - Location was perfect, you can walk from there easily everywhere since is located barrio alto. Room was ok, it had everything I needed, the bathroom was really small but at least I had one in my room. The toilet was leaking, and at night it gets really loud since the hotel is surrounded by restaurants and bars. The person in the lobby was not very welcoming or friendly maybe because I don’t speak any Portuguese but overall this place is ok for what I paid.

Svetlana (4/5): - It certainly has not been renovated in years. The bathroom are in very bad condition. The siphons are clogged and you can not shower normally. We change two room. Both have this problem. The only good thing about that hotel is the man who is working on reception at night. He is very friendly and helpful.

The location is very convenient to everything. staff made us feel like we were staying with extended family. Elsa (room service) and Rajan (front desk) were so wonderful. Their hospitality enhance our experience. They were super friendly and made our stay so much better then we anticipated. I highly recommend

Paul (10/5): Perfect location for Bairro Alto nightlife - We stayed for two nights and loved our stay. The staff was very friendly and the room was up on the third floor, away from the noise of the weekend street. Location could not have been better for nightlife in Bairro Alto!
Sarah (10/5): Best investment I’ve made on a budget - This is the perfect place to stay if you are on a budget. They are extremely well organized and the service here is prestine. You get to be in the center of the city, right by the bars and the nice restaurants. The rooms are pretty good too, you will see that the showers are in your room which is unusual but I got used to it pretty quickly!

Unfortunately, the accommodations need improvement. The beds were uncomfortable, and the shower in our bathroom was very small and slow to drain. (Plenty of hot water, though.) The area can be quite noisy.
