Guest Reviews
- Fernando (9/5): - Very friendly reception. Advised us about food options in the area. Room was clean. Food at the restaurant was good and cheap. Nothing.
- Therese (9/5): -

- Martha (8/5): -
- Chantal (10/5): -
- JACK (7/5): short - ok Bed was not comfortable
- Daniela (8/5): Clean and simple room, with friendly staff - Very friendly staff, good communication, clean. It is listed as a “one star” hotel, but I would definitely prefer to stay here over most regular two star hotels / motels. The carpets are worn/old, but the rooms are quite nice and otherwise well set up.
- Maxime (8/5): -
- Georges (1/5): -
- Chantal (10/5): -
- Henry (2/5): - Heavy cigarette smoke.
Positive:
We were allowed to check in early.
Manager ? was nice enough
Cheap
Gas station next door
Negatives :
Room old and dated
No security
No front desk support in the evening
TV turned on but could not be controlled by remote control.
No smoking rule clearly not enforced
We simply left and went to another property down the highway. Money down the drain. Could have tolerated the other shortcomings based on price.
Could NOT tolerate the smoke.
- Young (8/5): - Les canalisations étaient bouchées. L'eau s'évacuait très difficilement dans la douche.
- Florian (10/5): - This is more a hotel then a motel , teally clean and confortable
- lakeisha (10/5): - Staff were amazing and the breakfast was the absolute best !!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Misleading advertisement - The ad on hotel.com was very missleading of the conditions that we were to stay. There were people getting drunk on the front steps. The rooms were small and dark. The bathroom was not clean . We left after being there for 20 mins. No refund offered.
The photo copying of my driver's license and credit card was very uncomfortable. And they kept the copy when we left.
The breakfast was not included but you could get a discount keeping in mind the restaurant closes at 2pm.
The front desk clerk "Glen" had to be called my me to come to the desk to check in at 6pm. He then informed me that the "doors lock" (well i sure hope so) and we were handed a single key on a little Keychain for the room.
All in all, we were very mislead as to where we staying.
- Rebecca (8/5): - I liked the old country feel of the Inn and the attached restaurant. Good service and good food. 1/2 price breakfast when you stay at the Inn. Great stay for a cheap price. Not too far away from Ottawa.
- Jerry (8/5): Would recommend - Great price and the room was comfortable. 1/2 price breakfast in the morning. Excellent breakfast.
- Jennifer (2/5): - We booked two nights. Did not even stay one night due to an unsafe feeling. Main doors kept open all night with no security guard. Worker said the reason was so that smokers could smoke and get back into the building easily. Locks on individual hotel room door very weak. I must say sheets, bathroom and walls looked clean. I got refunded one out of two nights which was better than no refund at all.
- John (6/5): - Made me switch rooms after i had already checked in. Old dated. Smelled like stale cigaretes
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, comfortable, convenient. - Clean, comfortable bed, nicely redone bathroom. Looking for a place to sleep, it was good for me. Adjacent food truck and convenience store was helpful. Did not stay to sample the half-price breakfast.
- Amy (4/5): - 2 doors never locked going into the building
No one there to check us in.
Note scribbled on sheet of paper call this #, if no answer call this #, really? This was sheet just folded in two and propped on the counter behind a locked window and not really noticeable; I had to go outside and ask another guest how to find someone to check us in and he showed us the locked note!
When person came and checked us in he didn’t have our reservation? When asked if I booked through the Inn and I stated “No”, response “oh then my boss didn’t do her job”. I almost panicked be cause your info that I had received stated “fully booked”. But was told we have lots of rooms no problem. He then photo copied my drivers license and credit card info but no reassurance that it would be shredded after transaction processed? Now I must contact them yo make sure my information has bend shredded?
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Restaurant only opened between 8am and 2 pm. We had to go looking in a community unknown to us for supper. For breakfast Tues the door litterly opened at 8 am; but breakfast was delicious! And portions a good size and well presented and staff here were very friendly.
The AC and bathroom fan both noises.
- Pratap (8/5): - Good location and friendly staff
- Kelley (10/5): - Very kind service!
- Jay (2/5): - The motel is in a a remote location and many sketchy people were arround.
- Richard (10/5): - Cheap and cheerful, this property is modest and clean and the staff is great. 2nd stay, will definitely return if need arises.
- Richard (10/5): - Hotel and Restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, highly recommended location.
- DENIS (10/5): - noisy during night from other business beside
- Brian (8/5): - Property was dated but it was clean and quiet and had everything we needed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not So Good - No room service. Mold. Basic needs. Dated. Worn.
- Fereidon (8/5): - The night manager was on duty and he was friendly. He did help me to figure out my room and key for it.
- Ayman (8/5): - Cheap butts, not too clean
Breakfast there amazing
- Kamaljeet (10/5): - Great breakfast options
- Paul (10/5): - The diner had great food and good service. Parking was conveniently out front. The room had an air conditioner that worked well, microwave, large, mini fridge, and comfortable queen size bed with four pillows. The ice machine in the hallway was nice to have on the hot sunny day. Thank you so much for having A reasonably priced room that was so comfortable.
- Mike (10/5): - Perfect for the budget.
- Nimran (4/5): - It was not cleaned and looked like an ancient house, and bugs were there too.
- Christina (6/5): - Old, dirty. Sheets were clean. Staff was nice.
- Jody (6/5): Decent place to lay your head. - The hotel was good for our stay. We were looking for pet friendly accommodations for our weekend visit. The price was reasonable and staff was very friendly ($30 fee per night per pet). Nothing fancy. Our room was basic with 2 double beds a small refrigerator (that we had to turn on), a microwave and a small wall unit a/c that kept the room comfortable.
The hotel overall is older and hallway carpets were clean, but stained.
Our room was dated, but overall clean. It was what we expected for the price point and served us well.
We never ate at the hotel restaurant, but were told that we got 1/2 off our breakfast if we showed our room key. We were out the door each day before the restaurant opened (7 or 8am)
There was an ice machine in the hallway that had ice on Saturday night, but was empty on Sunday morning...could have been broken, could have been emptied by customers.
I highly recommend L'il Mom's Chip Wagon next door. A little pricey, but fantastic poutine and burgers and super friendly staff (cash or e-transfer only not open Sundays).
- Anthony (8/5): - An average experience but worth the price.
- Michael (2/5): - Room required updates, it felt unclean, wallpaper was peeling away from the walls (damp). The 'air conditioning' was as useful as a chocolate tea cup, given the hot temperatures outside (31°C), we searched online for accommodation that had air conditioning, unfortunately the room we were given, although technically had it, was woefully inadequate.
- Aileen (8/5): One-night stay before doing local parkrun - We booked a one-night stay here as we wanted to do a 5k parkrun down the road in Russell on Canada Day and wanted somewhere close by with a late checkout.
The motel is a bit run-down with worn/scruffy carpet in the corridor but our room/bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. It’s reasonably priced too and would have included a discounted breakfast if we hadn’t been out running.
The website and my booking confirmation stated that checkout was noon but on the back of the bedroom door there was a sticker over the checkout time with 11am. We ignored this and did our parkrun and came back to shower before checking out at 11.45.
- Kamaljeet (10/5): - Nice place really comfortable stay with kc' nice staff 👌 👍
- Ronald Barry (10/5): - Very homey/comfy. It was enjoyable for our short stay to sleep and go.
- Heather (10/5): - Lot of space for my dog to be walked.
- Luc (8/5): - Price was good and room was clean and practical. What I paid for.
- Joseph (10/5): - Great stay, great experience
- Eric (8/5): - It was ok
- alvin (8/5): - had a descent time staying here. good value for money
- Brent (4/5): - Could hear everything from different room. Doors left unlocked to main area for people to come and go as they please.
- David (8/5): - Low key but clean. Half price breakfast at connected restaurant a plus. Staff friendly. Parking right in front.
- Ellen (8/5): Great motel with excellent restaurant - Our stay here was great! We booked it a bit last notice, but the service was very friendly and welcoming. It was also lovely having the attached restaurant that we could order from while staying in the motel. The perks of staying in the motel, including half price breakfast and free coffee were the icing on the cake. The room was clean, open and had a mini fridge and a microwave, which was great. We had car trouble, and had to book an extra night, and they were accommodating and allowed us to stay in the same room. Would definitely recommend!
- harry (8/5): - All was good, except the smell of the aged carpets in the corridor and the room 231.
- George (10/5): - Nice place friendly people Completely nenovating the property
- Paul (2/5): - First off, its NOT KC's country inn anymore, its K's country inn. All photos are from when kc's looked new. There's more dirt in the hallway carpet than there is in the parking lot..
I have to admit the restaurant was very clean and the food was very good. The restaurant staff was kept extremely busybut they always smiled.
The bed was quite comfortable but the carpets and cloth covered chairs could use a deep cleaning.
We dont recommend staying there. We wont be returning!
- Nelson (10/5): - Amazing location especially when driving . Close to main road & close to the airport. The staff so Friendly. Restaurant right there & amazing staff
- Chantale (10/5): Beautiful country spot - Thé room was small for my family and I but we made it work, great service friendly staff and the restaurant was great to amazing breakfast
- Jan (2/5): - Dirty rooms, run down facility, room smelled moists/fungus, etc
- Julie (10/5): - Simple, clean and what we needed.
- Cezar (8/5): - Decent room for the price you pay. AC not working, Staff is very nice though. Half price in-restaurant breakfast for clients.
- Nancy (8/5): - We arrived late and it took a few minutes for staff to respond but he was very nice, polite and patient
- Victoria (8/5): - The motel was very clean and had a very great restaurant, it had great service and the people were very nice, the food there was probably the best food we have had for a long time!
- Mahalia (6/5): - The stay was what one would expect, nothing more nothing less. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the room was as described. Overall the motel is a little dated, but was great for what we needed - a place to sleep.
Pros:
Close to the highway
Onsite restaurant
24hr reception
Great shower water pressure
Clean room
Cons:
Noisy bed
Loud AC (didn't use the heat as it was summer)
Limited space to eat in the room
- Hoang (10/5): - Everything was good. The room is a bit old but clean.
- David (8/5): - The room was small but had everything we needed.
- Scott (10/5): - Dont like my drivers license photo copied.
- Stephanie (10/5): Loved it! - Friendly greeting
Convenient restaurant
So polite and pleasant booked last minute due to unfortunate circumstances at previous place and it was so welcoming. Food is amazing highly recommend poutine! Room was clean and cozy
- Pam (6/5): PJ ROAD - Nice and clean but very dated
- David (6/5): - A nice, basic room close to the freeway. However, there was no one to greet us and after I phoned to get someone to eventually come, he did not know how to check us in, and he photocopied my credit card.
- Brigitte (10/5): - We were grateful to find a room with them as we were stranded in a snowstorm.
- Shannon (10/5): - For an “INN”, it was the best and most comfortable bed we’ve slept on. Very clean and the staff was very nice. The attached restaurant, also run by then, had amazing food. We were not disappointed at all.
- Wayne (6/5): - When taking a shower the water temperature keep on changing into cold water at times, and the restaurant only opens at 8am for breakfast.
- Belinda (8/5): - Nice quiet property with a restaurant. The host was very helpful and friendly. This was a great place to return to after spending a couple of days exploring Ottawa.
- Rhonda (8/5): - The bed was very comfortable. A little too basic, not enough lights, no radio/clock, didn't feel too safe.
- Michel (10/5): - Close to Casselman. Quiet and relaxing, morning breakfast at restaurant was great
- Claude (10/5): - Close to everything and the food in the restaurant smells amazing
- Catalin (10/5): - Everything was clean, sheets bright white, staff very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend
- Cheryl (10/5): - Staff were very friendly, dining was very good
- Chantal (10/5): Definitely recommend - We slept so well, quiet country hotel great home cooked food. My dog has diabetes and they even supplied a room with a fridge. I will definitely be staying there again 😃💜
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly and helpful staff - Very friendly staff. The area was experiencing a power outage emergency. The staff provided us with water and candles to help with the situation.
Not in a convenient location but the price was good for Ottawa region.
- Mrityunjay (8/5): Excellent service by the manager Lien - Compare to price we paid it was a fair deal. Property was well maintained but the ambience was average. A special note: the service we got from the manger Lien, was just excellent, that made the whole stay worth. Thanks Lien.
- Diane (10/5): - Price was affordable. Room and bed comfortable. Nice haveing restaurant on property . Makes it convenient
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a good experience
- David (10/5): - Clean and spacious rooms, located only a half hour out of Ottawa.
- Wai Yin (6/5): Not justify staying in this motel as price $100/N - No coffee maker facility or equipment to make hot water for coffee, main entry open 24 hours which can assess to all motel rooms with concern of no security, furniture was basic & old such as 2 chairs, a rack for TV, a rack for refrigerator, no wall hooks or drawers for clothes as they were placed on top of our luggage, though 4 persons were charged in stay, towels, bathroom supplies, glasses etc for 2 persons only, bathroom tissue in a single layer, only 3 hangers for clothes available, reception close about 8pm as we had to call for service the price for a night $100 is over price as its location is 1/2 to downtown Ottawa, at the same time Holiday In in Ottawa East was $122.66, Travelodge by Wyndham Ottawa East 3 stars $122.66 where they are near downtown Ottawa
- Carolyn (8/5): Good value. - Older inn. Well worn, but looks and smells clean. Friendly staff. In a quiet country area outside of Ottawa. Great price. 50% off breakfast in the attached restaurant. Have stayed here 2x. Will do again.
- John (10/5): Satisfied Customer - Perfect for one night layover. Clean bathroom, comfortable clean bedding. Good TV and appliances including AC. Would stay again.
- Mitchell (10/5): - It’s nice that there’s a gas station next to it so you don’t have to go far and it’s very close to calypso which is why we go here and the beds are comfortable
- Justin (10/5): - Your typical country inn.
- Jody Slade (8/5): - Staff very friendly and restaurant was very good
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was close where I was going
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff. Would like room service to deliver to room, and the restaurant/room service to be available on Sunday and Monday supper time.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Kind of a hinky place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Beds and pillows are aweful. Friendly service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and the food was excellent. The rooms were clean and the bedding was fresh and crisp. Our over all experience was very satisfying. I would stay there again and recommend it to others
- William (8/5): Happy with the stay. - It was exactly what I expected. Perfect for a quick business trip. Staff were friendly. Everything worked well. Bedding was clean. Easy check in and check out.
- Kim (6/5): - Very friendly staff. Food and service in the restaurant is very good. Regular maintenance of the facility would go a long way..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Restaurant was great 1/2 price breakfast was specially good. This should be offered on all meals. TV reception was poor in Room 237 and channel selection was minimal. Ample Parking right in front was convenient along with the gas station across the parking lot for snacks a drinks. Overall it was a great little country inn (truck stop)
- BillyB (8/5): - Much as expectd. Clean and functional.
Restaurant was for evening meal, but super busy for breakfast with super sized plates full to the brim with good food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We love this hotel! It’s clean, simple and spacious. The rooms are nice, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at the restaurant in the morning (which is 50 percent off) and it was great! This spot is our go-to whenever we are in Ottawa. Top notch!
- Laura (10/5): worth the money - Great little place service was fantastic and friendly, restaurant right there on site. Room was cozy. It is basic. Had fridge and microwave. Was close to Embrun for me.
- April (8/5): - Bed was comfy, we would go back!
