Boyd (2/5): So disappointed - The hotel is not as advertised. No hotel tub, no on-site restaurant, and hotel needs major repairs. There was bitterly a caution sign in lobby saying not to walk in certain area of floor as it was unsafe. Room had no trash bags and could have used warmer blankets on bed. We were there when there was a major event happening in town and when we checked in after 3 there was only one person working and he made the comment that he had better get going because there were only a couple of rooms ready and he had better get to work as likely there would be and influx of people coming in wanting to rent a room. Pretty strange for sure. I believe this hotel has promise but lots to address. Location is awesome near so many things
Bradley (8/5): It was functional, we were there to shower and sleep. - Best part was it was right on the sled trail with easy access to the Northern Timber Cruisers trail system which is really well maintained. Comfortable bed, clean room with good shower. Great restaurants nearby like River Drivers restaurant at NEOC. Hotel breakfast wasn’t exciting, but there’s great breakfast spots nearby in town like the Appalachian trail restaurant. Bar, pool tables and other amenities were all closed off.

I booked the hotel for the hot tub usage and when we arrived, It was out of service!! This was a major bummer as that is what I was looking forward to. The floors were dirty, the pool tables you had to pay for which should be free as part of our stay.

KAREN (4/5): Overall disappointed. Not like the description or pictures online. - Arcade for our kids. Breakfast was horrible, pool was closed, no TV, slow internet, lobby was a ghost town with kids running it.

A welcome place to lay your head down at the end of the day! - The room was nice and clean, the bed comfortable enough, and the front desk staff (Austin) was helpful. The breakfast was decent, nothing extravagant , but it filled the belly! The Inn is undergoing a renovation. That did not take away from my stay there. The owners definitely have a passion to bring everything back to order, and I wish them nothing but the best of luck to fully renovate the Inn.
LELIA (3/5): If we had seen a photo of the hotel and parking lot, we would not have booked there. - Friendly staff, room was clean The facility itself, which had the indoor pool and gaming center as the main 3-story atrium. The window of our room looked out on this interior space, not the outside (so no view of the outside). The air was humid from the pool and noisy. The elevator and hallways were dirty.
Rhonda (7/5): It was clean and convenient to get to. - Austin was at the desk and greeted us promptly. He gave us a complimentary upgrade to a room. We asked for recommendations for a restaurant for dinner and he gave us a few good ones. The bathroom tub’s non-slip protection, wasn’t very clean. I believe it’s part of the tub so they’d have to replace the whole thing. The ceiling & wall in the room looked like it was under construction to the point where the room should be repainted and the ceiling didn’t look too stable.

The pool was sparkling and larger than most hotels, plus it was indoors! I have stayed at this property quite a few times over the years, and always liked it. Actually, the people I traveled with could have behaved better. Hotel was fine, lol.

Darryl F. (2/5): - I’ve stayed at Katahdin Inn and Suites a few times over the years as part of my trips to hike in the Mt. Katahdin region — it’s been a bit of a tradition. Unfortunately, this most recent stay was very disappointing. While the location is still convenient and the price is affordable, the building feels quite neglected. There was a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the hallways and common areas that made the experience uncomfortable and concerning. Sadly, I won’t be returning unless major improvements are made.

Smells like it hasn’t been opened since 1974. Claim continental breakfast but only cereal and pancakes. No hot tub. Room was dirty. Bed uncomfortable with no mattress pad. Anywhere else is better including a tent!

Deanna (4/5): - I needed a place to stay before hiking, just a bed that was not my car.. and I honestly may have gotten more sleep if I slept in my car. Pros -- To start, yes the facility is oddly set up in the lobby and under construction, but as a hiker who arrived around 8pm and left by 4am, didn't care about this. What I did care about was the cleanliness of the room. The room was clean, except for some surfaces that could have used some attention, but bedding was clean, bathroom was clean. Cons -- HOWEVER - I got about 2 hours of sleep before hiking all day. First - I understand it's a Saturday night, but the sheer amount of door slamming until around 12:30-1 am was absolutely ridiculous. The staff was pretty minimal, so probably not much they could do about it, so rating 1 star because of ignorant guests doesn't seem fair. Second, about after midnight, there was an intense nasty smell (I'm wondering if it was from some kind of furnace or additional heat source?) it smelled like sewage, it was awful. I didn't get much sleep because of that either. Overall, would not stay here again - I don't recommend it to someone that's relying on sleeping the night before a hike, but maybe if you have nothing else and can't spend a night in your car or camp, it's better than absolutely nothing.
Melinda (8/5): - They are remodeling the lobby and it is looks so good has the pool, the game area and they are getting ready to open the hot tub along with a bar area. We got there at noon I went in to ask if they has brochures for the area we needed something to pass time while we waited for check in at 3pm, I said unless our room os ready now and we could check in early that would be amazing. The guy said noone had been in our room & went to make sure it was clean. We went up to our room it looked amazing full bath jacuzzi in room king bed. Cable was down so we couldnt watch tv, jacuzzi was dirty went down to get cleaner and cleaned it myself and mattress was very uncomfortable. But we would stay again hoping we could watch the tv next time and jacuzzi is clean where I brought it to their attention. It is very quiet.
HillbillyTim (8/5): Good place to stay for Baxter State Park adventures - I've stayed here several times in the past, but this was my first visit since the hotel changed ownership. I see a number of improvements: my room had new furnishings and fixtures and was very comfortable. The hotel makes an effort to cater to Baxter/AT hikers and opens the breakfast room at 4AM. It also serves as a package drop for through hikers on the AT. There was a lot of ongoing renovation activity and I'm looking forward to seeing the property next year. The staff were great and very helpful. Overall it's a good value. The common areas are still rather run-down and worn, although it appears that they are a work in progress. The floors in the lobby are quite uneven and the parking lot is still horrendous with potholes that are starting to resemble shell craters from artillery fire. The cable TV was out although this appears to be beyond their control, and the property offered compensation for the inconvenience.

Peter (1/5): Horrible hotel! - Nothing. This hotel was a horrible experience. We came into town on what we thought would be a wonderful weekend considering our son is getting MARRIED this weekend. We chose the Katahdin Inn and suites for our lodging for the four nights we are in town. We drove four hours to arrive to a hotel parking lot full of individuals partying with loud music in the parking lot, cat calling me as I got out of the vehicle and drinking directly in front of the front door. Upon entering the building, we noticed the entire entryway was full of construction materials, where someone could easily be hurt. The carpets were not secured and very dangerous for someone who is disabled. When booking the room we were under the impression there were a pool and hot tub, cable, and Wi-Fi available as amenities based on the site’s advertisement as well as the marquee sign outside on the road. At check-in, we were told the pool is not available, the hot tub was drained, and due to them not paying a $500 bill, there would be no Internet or a cable. As we approach our room, we were overwhelmed with a smell of feces throughout the entire hallway. Millinocket is a very small town, so there were no other hotel options to book on such short notice at the hour that we checked in so we had no choice but to stay in this absolutely inhabitable hotel for the night. Due to the wedding, we have our grandchildren overnight and cannot bring them to this hotel in this condition so we were forced to book a second hotel for the remainder of our stay. Luckily the kind lady at another local hotel was able to provide us with a room and was very kind with the pricing. When I called the manager line to discuss these issues with them, the manager told me that it is not their problem and that I would need to dispute the charges on my card rather than fixing the issue.

Dan (3/5): - it was in a good location The place was undergoing renovation in the lobby, but the entire place needed it. It was tired and not clean. Hopefully the completion of the reno work will elevate this property to something cleaner and more comfortable. However, the general attitude will need to step up too- for example, the staff kept putting a block of wood in the corridor door so they can go out and smoke and slide back in. it left the corridor cold and less safe from people and critters.

Patrick (3/5): Stayed only because its convenient. - The had dairy free milk and sugar free syrup. No coffee pots in room like the pictures show in Booking.com floor had sunflower seeds from previous renter, dust and dirt in window and baseboards.
Ken (2/5): Not ready for occupancy!! - It was a dump! Facilities were under construction, unavailable, or non existent. There was nothing positive. See above. Room smelled like sewer ( had to buy air freshener), their breakfast was cold cereal, room had huge crack across window, staff (only saw two) did not seem to care or have a clue

Janice (6/5): - My experience was really mixed. The room was fine; it was clean and the shower and bathroom worked okay. However, there was no cable and internet was pretty spotty throughout the building --- there was none in the room. I used the laundry facilities and I had to clean them because they were pretty gross. There was ample parking, and the breakfast opened at 4 am which was great for an early start for hiking. However, on another morning when we were not hiking early, most of the fresh food (bagels) was gone at 8 am. Seems like the hotel needs a major refresh. Also, the lobby was in a state of disarray -- maybe some remodeling going to happen??

Deveau (6/5): It's an ok hotel, it's clean. - The place was under renovations. The pool was closed and the breakfast basically offered cereal. The place looks a bit neglected from the outside. But overall I was satisfied with my stay. The room was clean and my bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the TV offered "no signal", which was fine by me. The breakfast,no tv,
Sarah (1/5): No tv, will take your money even if they say they will give you a refund - The location was fine The building did not have a lot of windows and is currently undergoing repair?? No tv is available. Our room was conjoined and the lock didn’t work. I didn’t feel safe and opted to leave, requesting free cancellation. The front desk told me that management would honor that, and now management is refusing. I would not stay there
vicki (4/5): - There was no cable at this hotel. Website says there is but there isn’t. Shower was clean but to get the soap out of the dispenser you will be waiting a while a tiny little drop comes out. Staff were nice. Hot tub was down and they are doing work at the hotel.
Kristin (1/5): If you want fresh air & nature, do not go here! - They had breakfast available at 4am, we had to leave early to hike Katahdin. Staff was very nice. We had no windows in our room, we only had sliders to the pool & lobby. The hotel was behind dollar general & next to an electrical company so there was no sense of nature anywhere to be found. I couldn’t even tell which side of the hotel was the front, it looked abandoned. The inside lobby was actually nice, but it was summer & we wanted fresh air. We left after one night!
Julie (2/5): Not a good stay - Hot tub not working, says cable tv, but no tv at all. Pool had a ring around the edge, so obviously not cleaned in awhile. Front desk curtain was down, nobody was there when I went down. Couldnt call as there was no phone in the rooms. Breakfast was either cereal or pancakes.
Charles (8/5): Bring your own entertainment... - Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean. However, common spaces a bit dusty and needs some wiping. Breakfast is very very basic. No cable TV available. Spa not working. WIFI a bit slow.

Betty (3/5): I always try to get an inexpensive hotel when traveling but expect cleanliness. - Self-serv coffee and beverage station in lobby was excellent. Once the construction is complete, it does look like the main floor will be very nice. Staff wasn't around much but pleasant when they were. Hot tub closed. No cable or tv access in room. Stains on walls, carpets, bathroom soap and shampoo dispensers didn't work. Hair dryer in bathroom didn't work. Not enough breakfast options.

Sarah (4/5): - The property is under construction. You walk in and find the pool is located in the lobby. The hot tub is closed and the entire place looks like a construction site. Carpet remnants layed down over old flooring, dirty, dusty with building supplies layed out everywhere and the "heated pool" is cold. There was a sign on the door explaining that the cable payment didnt go through and apologized for lack of cable tv. You drive through a parking lot to find the building located behind a family dollar and tractor supply. The room itself was although outdated and run down, acceptably clean.

Leo (6/5): - Right in center of Millinocket. Accommodations were comfortable. Our key cards stopped working 3 times and staff told us this is a common thing for guests. The hotel is understaffed so it is not always easy to get help. The lobby and common areas have an off smell, maybe just the chlorine in the pool but it is noticeable. We loved the automatic pancake machine. Overall, the hotel served our needs and staff fulfilled all of our requests.
Kyle (4/5): - I would consider asking if they have TV that works and if they have finish the renovations on the property. Also ask them about the buttons missing the AC units!

Troy (6/5): Katahdin Inn - The room itself was good but there was no cable and no smart tvs for us to watch any tv. We had 2 kids ages 3 & 5. Also the hot tub was not in service and the bar was not open either. Made for a long night for kiddos

TERESA (8/5): - The room was clean and comfortable. Nice shower, hot water, cold A/C. Washer and dryer available and very helpful. Breakfast was good and the automatic pancake maker was fun with tasty results! Some remodeling going on so hot tub wasn't available and carpeting was partially new in spots. Weird smell in spots in the halls and definitely in the elevator. Overall great for the price!

Devin (10/5): - Something happened with my reservation here with my bank and a 3rd party app. So my reservation got canceled. I called the hotel and Cory answered and was very understanding and very helpful. I thought I was roomless over 1000 miles from home but he saved the day. He blocked a family suite so when we arrived it would be avaliable for us to check in. He didn't rush us and told us take our time and recommended places to eat on the way to the hotel. Our original room got booked due to the app cancelation but he put us in a room nearby identical just wasn't pool side. After our first night he moved us into the room we wanted for the rest of our stay. This hotel is under current renovation adding a bar and a food menu. Cory made us some chicken to try that he plans to put in the menu and it was fantastic! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. All staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return in the future. The owners of this hotel are very lucky to have Cory. He goes above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The breakfast is good. They have a pancake machine thats really cool to watch work. They also have pool tables to play on and a few arcade machines that we enjoyed. The swimming pool was a touch chilly at first but once you got used to it you were good. This area is hikers climbers and bikers dream come true. I cant wait to go back!

Josh (10/5): - Corey recently too over the hotel runs a great place and is has upgraded many areas of the building. My son and I came up for a few days and stayed while we were rafting. Very clean, pool was great, hot water was very hot and the rooms were clean. Great onsite amenities. If you need something from them just ask and they bend over backwards trying to help, will definitely be back!

SHEILA (2/5): - THE ENTRANCE WAS DIFFICULT TO FIND AND WHEN WE ENTERED THE LOBBY WE ENCOUNTERED THE SWIMMING POOL WITH THE CHECK IN DESK OFF TO THE SIDE LIKE A CLOSET. WE HAD TO RING A BELL FOR SERVICE. THERE WAS A MUSKY SMELL AND THE CARPETS WERE UNEVEN. THE ROOM WE ENTERED HAD A SPIDER AND COBWEBS BEHIND THE DOOR. THE SECOND ROOM WAS NOT MUCH BETTER SO WE LEFT AND STAYED AT ANOTHER PLACE IN TOWN.
Linda (10/5): This is a great base for hikers and explorers. - The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location was great for exploring the Katahdin region of beautiful Maine. Can’t think of anything.
Sarah (4/5): Overall, rooms are fine and good location. Otherwise, not much I can compiment - The room was fine, beds were comfortable. The lobby was under construction at some point and seems like work will be ongoing. Lots of weirs stuff lying around. Hot tub was closed, gazebo was closed, signs up everywhere warning the the floor was unstable. One room had visibly not had windows cleaned. Only half a roll of toilet paper. Not super clean in common spaces. Breakfast was very limited and disappointing. Nothing at all gluten free except some sad looking oranges. Sort fo w weird vibe all around. I have stayed there before and it has been better in the past - maybe just bad timing.
