Guest Reviews
- L5102TNdavidy (10/5): Sparkling Hill Resort – Highly Recommended - Sparkling Hill in is a wonderful retreat. The staff are genuinely kind, service is efficient, and booking spa and dining is effortless with helpful reminders so nothing slips through the cracks. Room is beautiful and so quiet here.
The sauna rooms are a real highlight, and the outdoor pool overlooking the valley is simply stunning. Hard to beat that view.
If you are looking for a relaxing getaway with exceptional wellness facilities and a breathtaking setting, this is the place. We will definitely be back.
- Paradise230518 (10/5): Wonderful Resort Spa! - Beautiful resort, property and spa. Our room was stunning; fantastic views… all the sparkle throughout the resort so pretty and great attention to detail. Spa, saunas, hot tub and pools were all amazing. We had a couples massage which was good, peak fine for dinner and breakfast were overall good (complementary brekkie was a nice touch and outshone the dinner for sure) dinner was ok…we did prefer dinner at predator ridge which has a complimentary shuttle service to and is close by. Peak fine atmosphere could use some work to be more refined. It lacked the luxury ambiance the rest of the resort had. Gernies for a beer, good view was a perfect spot to catch some sun mid day. Walking trials around the property were beautiful. Overall great experience!
- Sbf09c (10/5): Best resort in Canada - Absolutely best resort in Canada!!! I love it so much. From the service to amenities to the views and to the atmosphere. It’s just amazing what they offer.
- 861kated (10/5): Amazing Place - An amazing experience ! Friendly and attentive staff. Excellent food and wine. The spa saunas and pools were exceptional....clean , relaxing , fun to try and the outdoor pool at night was extra amazing with the stars overhead !
Lots of hiking trails to get your steps in before indulging in the food.
The room was beautiful and had a sliding window that opens to let in the night air while you sink into the huge tub , read your book and sip your wine !
Amazing place .....
- MandA2012 (10/5): Relaxing spa hotel with stunning views - We stayed at Sparkling Hill for one night in a Deluxe Lake Two Queen room and the only retreat was not staying another. The room was beautiful with a stunning view overlooking the lake and huge windows, one of which opened and had a screen. The layout is a bit interesting; we were two friends staying together but it is easy to give each other privacy in the shower because the space is ample.
We thoroughly enjoyed the steam rooms, saunas and arctic cold room; which are open only from 2-10pm, so we made sure to hit those after check-in. The swimming pools (one very warm outdoor infinity pool, and slightly cooler indoor pool) were open all day, as was the hot & cold indoor footbath circuit (try it, it feels amazing!) The last hour 9-10pm was “European” hour, aka nude bathing; we skipped that.
Dinner and the complimentary breakfast in PeakFine were both excellent. We chose off-peak dining times (7:15pm and 10:30am) and got amazing tables right by the window. After check-out, we were allowed to keep our car in the garage while we hiked the trails. The Sparkling Hill trails connect into the Predator Ridge trails, and have stunning views over the lake. You lose access to the spa after check-out, but could still access the washroom and water cooler.
Everything in the hotel is stunning with thoughtfully placed seating areas and grand views. We had an amazing experience and I’m looking forward to my next visit!
- 374winstont (10/5): Amazing Resort Spa with Top Tier Service - We just had a wonderful 2 night experience at Sparkling Hill so I wanted to take a moment to post this review and acknowledge those who made our stay so relaxing and meaningful.
First of all, a special thank you to Michelle Pacheco, the hotel front desk manager, who went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of from the moment we arrived at the resort. She was so welcoming and graciously took the time to personally guide us to our room which was both kind and exceptional. Michelle even helped us extend our stay when we decided to stay an extra night. Her extended efforts truly made us feel genuinely heard, appreciated, and valued as guests. Thank you Michelle for taking the time to make our visit so special, you are amazing and the resort is so fortunate to have you lead their front desk team.
Kevin from valet service also deserves special recognition for his outstanding attention to detail. Before we even asked, our car that we valeted was ready and waiting at the main entrance during checkout. This was so helpful as those extra saved minutes really helped start our day after check out more organized and on schedule. Kevin’s proactive approach made the entire process seamless and demonstrated his commitment to exceptional customer service. In addition, his personable and enthusiastic nature made the experience even more memorable. Thank you Kevin and for being so awesome. Go Canucks!
The KurSpa team was equally fantastic. Kaleah, Ann, Shion, Naveet, and many others created a welcoming and relaxing environment with thoughtful service throughout our visit. (Thank you kindly for the little spa gift Kaleah, that was so kind of you and made our day). Every interaction felt genuine and appreciated and the facilities were well maintained and groomed.
The many steam rooms (7 unique experiences in total) were fabulous and well worth visiting as they are included with your stay. The steam rooms are only open 2pm - 10pm (maintenance) while the pool area opens earlier in the morning around 7am-10pm. In addition, they have an extension pool area which includes a beautiful infinity pool with a priceless view of the valley and lakes, with a very generously sized hot tub, and an indoor pool as well.
Another highlight is the the Kneipp Hydrotherapy Water Walk which has a clever water walkway with various temperatures (from hot to cold) which is intended to improve circulation to your legs and joints. We also received great service at the Swarovski Crystal gift shop and found a few beautiful pieces there to add to our collection. The gift shop is well organized and the wall display of crystal gifts was impressive.
We also had a wonderful dining experience at Gerni’s Farmhouse, where our server, Melissa provided attentive service and great recommendations. The food was generous and delicious—especially the cream-filled crepes with fruit. We also enjoyed the pork chop medalions with mashed potatoes and vegetables which was a perfectly blended dish of comfort food. Add the wonderful food to the stunning views from the patio area, and you have the ingredients of a winning restaurant.
Complimentary Breakfast at PeakFine was another key highlight, Our server, Viktoria took care of us on the first day, and Melissa the second. Both servers provided us with excellent service. We chose the Classic Canadian platter and fresh omelette on day one for breakfast, and Eggs Benedict and omelete on day two. All the food ordered were excellent choices, however I enjoyed the Eggs Benedict the most.
Overall, the attention to detail, warmth of the staff, and seamless service made our first 2-night stay at the Sparkling Hill Resort truly memorable. We look forward to returning and recommending friends and family to this world class spa resort. In my opinion the Sparkling Hill Resort spa, is truly a 5 star resort with 5 star service. Simply Amazing!
- nadinelA6530CY (10/5): Love this place! - Sparkling Hills is definitely one of my favorite places to go. It is so beautiful and the staff are always super friendly and it is just the most relaxing rejuvenating getaway
- ruthsR6338TA (8/5): Sparkling clean - Was a beautiful retreat, exceptional service and hospitality, as well it was spotless I’ve never stayed in a resort this clean.( For the early risers) the coffee bar does not open until 6:30 am. And there is no coffee provided in your room. Overall I give my stay a 9 out of 10
- nutritionistandlactt (10/5): Shiningsl star in beautiful BC - Incredible atmosphere. Deeply relaxing. Clean. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel like you belong. It’s a chill vibe and the breakfast and lattes were a huge hit with us. Highly recommend. The views are out of this world!
- Q6746EEwendyg (10/5): Amazing - Absolutely friendly and over the moon staff. I love this place 🌹
- 526alecg (10/5): Great views and spa - I went there with my wife for our anniversary and it is a beautiful resort. Loved their rooms with crystals in them and views. Great spa as well.
- Manpreet (10/5): If there is any offers i will choose again to stay - Sauna’s Air conditioning in room
- jackier421 (10/5): Fantastic, rejuvenating stay - Fabulous facility, beautifully situated. The staff is wonderful.
Definitely recommend
- Nolpreen (8/5): Ooge new cafe addition and view still stunning - Obviously great here. Everyone has said already.
Wicked spa and views. Rooms a bit non sound proof though but most guests luckily are respectful, most.
It's mostly peaceful but yet relaxing if u draw others out.
Some staff are amazing and others seem to be going through the motions.
PLEASE change the awful remote for tv, please. The channel up and down button you have to be precious with or directs you back to no unfo page! Super annoying.
If all staff showed their reserved care and if more soundproofing and if a better remote then yes 5 stars to me.
Love the new cafe addition since my last time here.
- danielled180 (10/5): Well worth the money! - Amazing location with outstanding views. The staff are very friendly and highly competent. The Amenities are wonderful and the Breakfast is delicious!
- koryk490 (10/5): Thank you Hans-Peter Mayr for turning this granite bluff into a haven of comfort - Kory and Jani-Lee Krokis. Amazing! Been here 26 days in total now over the last two years. What a privilege! Took advantage of the Cyber Monday sale and couldn't be happier. From the amazing breakfast to the saunas and pool before bed, this haven has certainly improved our mental and physical health. We met the visionary gentleman that built this haven back in November 2025 (Hans Peter). Then on Feb 18th he seen us having breakfast and immediately remembered us and came over to say hello. We complimented him for making his vision come true and bringing some peace to so many people. He just responded humbly and said "he never gets tired of the view". Pretty cool guy. All the staff here are friendly and hard working. Well be back again as soon as possible.
- helmutz923 (10/5): Saunas nature and viewing - Love the Saunas, steam rooms and pools. Views are incredible and enjoy the natural walks and short hikes in nature
- mikepA6895LZ (10/5): Incredible Resort… - World class experience, great service, amazing views, relaxing spas and saunas, we can’t wait to return again very soon.
- Eyeluv2Travel (10/5): Amazing stay, you have to go!!! - The place was amazing. The toom was perfect and kept clean.
The wifi was great around the resort.
The food was amazing, breakfast was great but could be organized better from a seating perspective.
We ate on-site and had amazing food.
The spa was incredible and the location lovely.
The infinity pool was amazing.
Valet service was quick and good.
We loved everything.
- rssrob (10/5): Awesome relaxation getaway ! - Wow we were blown away. Arriving not really knowing what to expect we were gob smacked. Everything was 10 plus. The sign in, the room, the facilities , the location. Be prepared to be pampered and relaxed.
- Painter378 (10/5): Loving it again - We just had another wonderful stay at Sparkling Hill. Super clean, lovely atmosphere of quiet elegance, excellent staff. We especially enjoyed the authentic Austrian menu at Gerni's. The rooms have lovely views and quality amenities. For us, the location is also a winner - 2 hour drive on good highways with no ferries, airport waits or passports needed. What's not to love?
- Exploration542291 (10/5): Amazing Stay… - Everything about our stay was first class. We dined at all of the restaurants and everything was delicious. We were shuttled to Predator Ridge Restaurant from the hotel and back. The spa services were amazing as well.
- C1714WGlindab (10/5): A lovely getaway - Staff is so amazing. All the staff say hello and acknowledge you. Lovely setting and the amenities are great. Also, very dog friendly. I would recommend Sparkling Hills to all my friends.
- Courtney (7/5): Overall we loved the experience and would go back. The location and views are unbelievable - Location and cleanliness I wish the steams and showers were open earlier in the morning
I wish there was another hot tub- maybe outside, especially for winter
I wish there were more meditation or yoga classes
Rooms could have a garbage in the toilet area,
Rooms could have a dirty laundry bag
Bathroom could have a tissue box
Rooms could have body lotion
Floors could have an ice machine
Outdoor pool was too hot
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Kate (8/5): Sparkling Hill is nice, but it’s clear that costs to stay have gone up but quality has gone down, - We haven’t been to Sparkling Hill since our stay in 2021 (where the province ordered a partial shut down during our stay). The saunas and spas are good and it was nice to use them again. The decor is nice. Gerni’s was new to us and was beautiful and the food was good. The food at Peak Fine wasn’t great. We went for dinner and had breakfast and agreed that we should have tried Gerni’s or gone offsite for dinner. I got the eggs benedict for breakfast and had to saw through the English muffins. It was difficult to access our room (0 level) if the elevator was in demand.
- Sam (3/5): - the hotel and facilities are good terrible customer service experience, poor timing with spas and restaurant (close too early and opens too late)
- Emily (10/5): -
- Mac (8/5): Fun spot for an infrequent trip to splurge - The grounds were well staffed and the rooms were spacious. Everything was very clean. The beds did not have a top sheet and the restaurant was poor value for very average food.
- Amber (5/5): - Location and spa experience Seems a bit outdated now, the breakfast included was not very good at all for the price. The waitress was great but the food very bad. Seems old from previous night.
- Alanna (9/5): -

- Christine (10/5): We were grateful to have spent our first time away from our kids to celebrate our 19th anniversary in such a beautiful p - The lake view was beautiful. The room was perfect for 2. We appreciated that it never felt overcrowded. Between 1130am and 1pm daily, there was an over whelming chemical smell that was so strong we had to close our window. We could even smell it inside our room. It eventually subsided but it was disappointing to have to close our window because of it.
Some areas are needing some updating.
We were always seated in a crowded area during our breakfast, right beside large groups, even though there were tables for 2 empty. We are not fussy people but it would have been nice to be seated near the window, which seemed to be empty and given to people randomly. We would have waited if it was about timing.
We are the type of people that need lots of information. We often had to ask simple questions that could have been answered by having the info on the website (ie. steam room/sauna etiquette, suggestions for how to best utilize the facilities, how the towel exchange works, etc). The more info, the better :)
- Lovepreet (10/5): -
- Dovzhanyn (6/5): Relaxing - It was nice , nothing crazy fancy , outside pool could be warmer , food could be better as it is in Europe No good coffee, very far from everything, a bit overpriced
- Marie (10/5): -
- U6601IZsophiem (2/5): Not good very unwelcoming - The actual facility is beautiful itself, and all the amenities when checking in however, the lady was not kind and also just handed our keys said nothing expected us just to walk away. Followed by the next day doing a yoga class class was not even done and the instructor was looking at what we wrote down as a tip making the ending very un peaceful highly do not recommend the yoga class overall I would just say the staff itself is completely not polite and not engaging or makes you feel welcomed. .

- Dong (10/5): The service was excellent, facilities were clean, overall relaxing and great experience! - Excellent service and the facilities were well maintained!
- Vandyk (10/5): - I enjoyed every aspect of my stay.
- V5714LNangelan (6/5): lovely location but no one answers the phones - good luck talking to a human - I have been here twice and was trying to arrange a third trip, more just for the day, lunch, cryotherapy etc. It's nice when you get there but there are beyond terrible at answering the phones. expect to be on hold for >40 min and you still probably won't reach someone. they expect you to book anything online, not the service I expect for a high end spa that wants to promote the personal touch. you also can't book cryotherapy if you are only staying the day, even though it is spa treatment they advertise you can book anytime and just come for that. not sure it's worth the hassle this time around.
- Lake (10/5): -
- Sandra J (9/5): We enjoyed our stay. - Breakfast was perfect and the staff was awsome. We enjoyed the pool areas immensely. I wish you could put in a wheelchair assessable ramp in your pool areas so wheelchair patients can take advantage of the facilities.
- richardaU2705MP (6/5): Sparkling Hills - don’t show up early. - My wife and I visited Sparkling Hill in November for a quiet weekend getaway and had a mixed experience overall.
We arrived on an early morning flight into Kelowna and headed straight to the resort. With time to spare before check-in, we went for a hike around the property and nearby Predator Ridge. The trails were great—well-marked with a range of difficulty—and the views were truly spectacular. It was a strong start to the trip.
Things dipped a bit when we returned to the resort for lunch and hoped to use the pools and steam rooms while waiting for our room. The policy is very rigid: if your room isn’t ready, you can’t access the facilities. We tried to work around it by booking a spa service, only to learn that even spa guests can’t use the facilities before 1:00 pm on the day of check-in. Fortunately, we were close to the cutoff and managed to book a short couples massage, which finally granted us access. Still, it felt like an unnecessary hassle at a place marketing itself as a luxury experience. Even the concierge’s suggestions—to take a $100 cab into Vernon or simply wait in the lobby—weren’t particularly helpful. It was a disappointing way to start the stay.
Once settled, the resort’s strengths were clear. The rooms are beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling windows, great views, and excellent blackout and privacy shades. The architecture and setting are undeniably impressive.
Breakfast was fine, though you pay extra for specialty coffees and are limited to one menu item. The same theme shows up elsewhere: yoga and other on-site activities also come with additional fees. Personally, I’d rather the room rate be higher than feel like I’m being charged in small increments all day—it detracts from the sense of relaxation.
The pools themselves are lovely, especially the outdoor infinity pool, which really is a highlight. The indoor pool is still enjoyable but is beginning to show its age, with visible mold on the ceiling around the intake vents and some tile discoloration.
Overall, we’re glad we visited once—the views are stunning, and there are some genuinely nice elements—but we’re not in a rush to return. The inflexible policies and constant add-ons undermine what could otherwise be a much more seamless and relaxing stay.

- Selwa (9/5): The hotel is beautiful with aesthetic views on the lake and mountains. - We love the luxurious spa, pools and hotel rooms. The spa has a lot of themed steam rooms and saunas that are amazing. Also, the outdoor infinity pool is nice. We dislike the urgency of checking out sharp at 10am. Normally, the check out is either 11 am or 12noon in almost all hotels. Also we dislike the fact that spa is open at 2pm so we could not enjoy any of the facilities next day of our stay before leaving the hotel.
- JacquieS787 (6/5): Wanted to love it... and just didn't - My sister and I were treating ourselves to a weekend away at a place that had been on our bucket list for a while. We wanted to love it and just didn't. The service, quite frankly, is horrible. That crappy service started 3 months prior when I called the spa to book our treatments. I was told the schedule hadn't come out yet and there were only a few options - no services could happen concurrently for us instead we had a big gap between our massages. The spa person said she would take note of what I wanted and get back to be when the schedule came out. That never happened. Two weeks prior to our stay, I called the spa to see if there were any changes or additions to make. They didn't pick up so the front desk took my message. I never heard back. Tried many days in a row via phone and got the same experience. I emailed them with the full explanation and they didn't even acknowledge their lack of responses - just said no options available.
When we arrived, we expected to be wow-ed by the hotel and the service - especially given the price tag. It was underwhelming - the hotel could stand a refresh as it is showing its age. The views are SPECTACULAR though. The service remained unimpressive - the majority barely makes eye contact, whisper when they talk and aren't friendly. We had one server in the cafe that warmed up to us as we hung out there to play games - the only regular height table - she was good.
The spa treatments themselves were excellent. Dawn did our facials and Jessica did our massages. Great treatments.
We had dinner in Peak Fine on Sunday night. We were the first to arrive and they stuck us in a corner at the far end of the restaurant - very bizarre given there was no one else there. When the next group came, they sat them RIGHT next to us. Who does that in a open restaurant. The music did not match the menu which is high end and pricey. Our server was extremely loud and obnoxious - not reading the crowd at all and constantly referring to partying and getting drunk. We both had the filet and for $65 it was marginal. The mashed potates were room temperature. The server saw me stick my fingers in them to test the temp and didn't even address it. Oh and the food came within 20 minutes of us sitting down and basically on top of our appetizer. I love going out for amazing meal experiences and don't mind paying high end prices. This was absolutely not worth it. $225 for 2 filets, 2 glasses of crappy wine, 1 order of focaccia.
We would not go again or recommend it to our friends.

- KStro (8/5): Nice getaway but missing a few things... - Lovely relaxing spa experience. Heated outdoor salt pool with the views is amazing. A few key amenities felt missing. This hotel is not in town and is somewhat isolated. There was nothing in the room but 2 stemless wine glasses and an empty mini fridge. Be prepared to pack along anything you might need to serve snacks etc. No pantry or little shop for anything. There was a coffee shop and a boutique gift store.
The bath towels were small, scratchy and not what I would expect from a spa hotel.
If staying one night be sure to note the times of the saunas and steam rooms, you won't be able to access them check out day as they do not open until 2pm. Disappointed.
Restaurant Peak Fine was ok. Overpriced and slow. We both went to order the duck, sold out. We then ordered the seafood tower and it had no oysters as listed, it did have extra prawns but felt lacking for the price of $139. At breakfast my husband's omelet was terribly over cooked. All service felt average. We were not serviced, they were friendly order takers both am and pm but did not create a guest experience. We did enjoy the Austrian restaurant a lot more than Peak Fine.
- Anatoliy (10/5): Want to come back - Room, spa, bar, dinning!
View amasing
Stuff is so nice

- Hummingbird5_12 (8/5): Very nice - We had a very nice 2 day stay, not much to complain about just 2 things that we weren’t overly impressed with. The hot tub is very nice but the jets are way too strong it’s not possible to sit and relax the jets just push you around. Barrique &Java is a big disappointment we went for a drink and a charcuterie board they where out of the alcohol we wanted and the board was a huge disappointment with maybe 4 dollars worth of food on it and costing 32. Everything else was great.
- Lewis (6/5): - Spa and breakfast were wonderful
and the in room tubs are perfect I do not like that there is no water and coffee available in your room, especially in the morning.
We also called maintenance because the the TV chrome cast was not working. They never got it working and then called another maintenance back into the room to help. This was very annoying, the last time i was there you had options to rent movies and had a better tv selection. I ended up having to watch something on my IPad. Both things are very disappointing when you are spending so much to have a private romantic weekend
- louisek373 (6/5): Sparkling Hills Resort Spa - Contacting the property, I strongly suggest using email, they do not answer their phones, I tried all hours of the day with no avail for a week.
Upon arrival the staff are very accommodating. Check in/out was prompt and efficient.
Check in time is late at 3:00pm and check out time at 10:00am however, you can check out later with escalating check out fees. Checking out at 11:00 am is $40 with costs escalating thereafter. $50, $60 etc.
Valet parking was very good, beware at check out time its very busy.
The rooms are large, 2 bottles of water are provided, there is a fridge, no coffee maker, nor ice bucket. If you want ice they will deliver it to your room. No directory is provided in the room to familiarize yourself with the property, so you require a smart phone to view amenities : restaurants info/ spa etc.
There is a desk with plug outlets in the room , however no plug outlets are provided near any night bedding tables to charge your smart phone. There is a safe in the closet.
Bath amenities provided: 1 small lotion, bar of soap, towels no shower cap so bring your own. Bathrobes, slippers and spa towels are provided.
Infinity, hot tub & pools are great with lots of room. Spas are excellent, however times are not always convenient, to book with odd closure times.
Beware room windows they are not one way! The tub is positioned right at the window to view the beautiful scenery, however swimming in the infinity pool below you can see into the rooms above.
Dinning: Food was very good however, fine dining should dictate a white table cloth, full cutlery & glassware. Had to ask for spoons, S & P & ice. Ordered a side of mushroom sauce for $7 served in 1oz metal over sized thimble. Non-alcoholic bevies were very sparse. Upon arrival we had already reserved Peaks Fine Dining, so we could not experience Gerni's Farmhouse German Restaurant. The restaurant was closed with late opening hours when leaving the property.
Breakfast: which is included was very good, with several options, to choose from, again no small spoons.
I rate 3 stars because of their inconsistencies, it is a beautiful property. A tad room for improvement!
- PentictonL (10/5): Relaxing getaway with charming views - First time here…beautiful mountain views on third floor, beds and pillows were comfortable, room was sparkly clean. Love that the windows open for a lovely breeze. Walking trails all around which look amazing. Infinity pool was toasty warm and enjoyable in the cool mountain air. Loved all the saunas. The staff were excellent. Will come back for sure. We loved our room 327

- Abnormel (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - My friend and I just returned from a wonderful stay at sparkling hills. As a local, I've been to sparkling hills at least a dozen times.
I have to say this stay was exceptional. The service was wonderful. There is a new towel return station where you can exchange towels, slippers and bathrobes. The rooms are sparking clean, the staff are friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was a la carte with many varieties to choose from. Check in and check out has been streamlined so there's are no long line ups, which made the stay a more relaxing one. Two tepees have been added to reflect our native heritage. They are especially beautiful lit up at night. There are gentle reminders to keep your voices low which is so important for the wellness experience. . We are proud to boast this luxurious resort in our beautiful area of the Okanagan.
Thank you

- KEA999 (4/5): EXPECTED SO MUCH MORE FOR THE PRICE!!!! - Most recently we had a girls getaway, there were 8 of us in total, we booked MONTHS in advance. Some concerns we as a group had and experienced. 1. Changing a spa appt. Due to "the staff need a lunch break". AND, changing the time of an appt. completely, which did not work for us, that girl did not have her treatment at all!! 2. The day of departure, I went down to the front desk early (6:00 a.m. ) advised them that we needed our bills for a 8:00 a.m. departure, these bills were not ready and we left at 8:30. 3. Having to call down to the front desk to get our room made up, this was day 2, housekeeping had been in our room and delivered towels but that was all that was done. MY overall feeling was that they are very UNDER staffed, despite the fact that we booked MONTHS in advance I felt that our spa appts. should have been honoured for the treatments booked and times booked.
- robertakQ2555WG (4/5): Not getting what you paid for! - I thought that the price that I paid for the room would come with some basic features. We had a 4 day 3 night stay. We were a group of 8 ladies. There was only one person upon checkin at the front desk, the room has no bathroom privacy, there is no coffee available until 6:30 in the morning at which time you have to leave your room and go downstairs to get it. The room was very dark. The room as not cleaned, but some towels were refreshed on day 2 but not all towels were replaced. No one answers the phone there. No one! The food was good, however one night at dinner we waited 90 minutes and our order was still not on the table. When I complained to the manager, he apologized and provided a bottle of wine. The food arrived shortly after with partially cooked vegetables. The view was spectacular and the few staff they had were polite and professional at all times. The spa was ok, I had a 45 minute massage, but it was very busy and I didn’t hang around. I will not go back.

- JDG70 (10/5): Hidden Gem - Couples Relaxation Days - We absolutely loved our two nights stay at this resort. The room was beautiful, the view is to die for, and the and infinity pool are all amazing.
Everything is included in the price, including your breakfast, which was delicious. The staff are very attentive and really want to make your stay enjoyable. The valet service for your car was excellent as well. There is always flavoured water throughout the resort as well as spaces to fill up your water bottles. We did not see one plastic water bottle the entire stay. There is complementary tea, apples and oranges in one sitting area. If you want to unwind and relax, this is the place for you. We are already looking at our calendar and deciding when we will be returning.
- Nagisa (10/5): - Good staff, good breakfast and spa.
Hopefully imore indicate location sign
- Grundylocks (10/5): A Magical stay - The moment I stepped into my room, my chest filled with happiness. Every detail mattered. The TV softly played spa music, sparkling lights danced against crystals, creating the most magical glow. The tub was perfectly positioned in front of an incredible view, robes and slippers were waiting neatly at the edge of the bed, and the glass shower gleamed with elegance.
And that was just the room.
The spa itself felt like stepping into a world of shimmering beauty, with everything sparkling around me. The service was impeccable—warm, attentive staff made every moment feel special. Even the valet service was a thoughtful touch that added to the experience.
I’ve truly never known luxury like this. It was unforgettable, and I’m already booked to return.
- Kim (2/5): It was not great at all - The kitchen was shut down, no hot food and we are vegan so there was only fruit for us and coffee with cold oat milk.
We paid for an extra person and they didn't check to see if a cot was available when taking payment. We were only there one night and the breakfast is a big part of it and it ruined our stay and our morning of enjoying as they had us book a breakfast time to show up for and then we had to wait 1/2 hr to get seated to only be told no breakfast. We believe we should get a free night or something to make us feel better about this. My daughter was here after 2 years in New Zealand and it was a mom and daughter trip for one night. Very disappointed especially with the young woman who checked us in then checked us out who was supposed to have a manager call me. We also asked days in advance for the kitchen to call us regarding our dinner so we would have a main dish which included protein for us as vegans. No call and a $350 dinner later, no protein for our mains. Very disappointed.
- H1899JZsusanc (4/5): Does no live up to the hype - I had been looking forward to staying at Sparkling Hill Resort for years. My husband and I finally booked a two-night stay on Sept 14–15 to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Sadly, the experience was a major disappointment.
Booking spa treatments was a nightmare. I called multiple times over a month—no answer, no voicemail. I emailed and waited over a week for a reply, then had to follow up again before anyone responded. By then, our preferred times for treatments were gone, and we had to rearrange our dinner reservations.
We booked several treatments including, pedicures and the Cryo Chamber. The Cryo Chamber was canceled the day before due to staffing issues. Fine. But the pedicures? Absolutely unacceptable. We were seated in stiff "office like" chairs with our feet soaking in what looked like large metal dog bowls. My technician couldn’t remove my gel polish in time, cut my toes in three places (which bled and are still sore), and didn’t even finish the treatment. I paid nearly $200 for this after tip. My husband’s pedicure was just as bad—his toenail was cut so short he’s still in pain.
We left the spa feeling ripped off and frustrated. Over $350 spent on treatments that were not only mediocre but borderline negligent.
Dinner at Peak Fine was another letdown. We had requested a quiet table window and were seated in the middle of a loud insurance conference group. The staff were visibly overwhelmed, our server was upset and slamming down lamps, huffing away, and service was painfully slow. The complimentary champagne was a nice gesture, but it didn’t make up for the chaos. The food was great, but the atmosphere was anything but relaxing.
The only redeeming part of our stay was the Pantai Luar massage, which was excellent, the view from the room, exceptional and our room was clean and fresh which was very nice. But that alone doesn’t justify the nearly $2,800 we spent over two nights.
To make matters worse, I’ve tried reaching out to Sparkling Hill’s spa, restaurant, and administration via phone and email—and I still haven’t received a single response.
Sparkling Hill may have a reputation, but our experience was far from luxurious. Poor communication, subpar spa facilities, and chaotic dining service made this a regrettable anniversary trip. I expected so much more—and left feeling disappointed, ignored, and honestly, a bit heartbroken. Save your money! We won't be back.
- Sally (10/5): Amazing - So quiet and fancy I didn’t like that people were allowed to wear the robes and slippers to breakfast
- YVR2007 (4/5): Disappointing Service - I stayed at Sparkling Hill in Vernon, BC, and while the facilities and room were nice, nothing about this stay lived up to the “luxury” image the resort tries to project. The food was average at best. But the real disappointment was the service:
A friend thoughtfully arranged wine and cheese for our arrival. The items were in the room, but the hotel failed to include the note. That meant we had no idea it was arranged for us, ruining the entire gesture. For a property at this price point, missing such a simple detail is inexcusable.
I accidentally left my wallet in the unlocked safe (yes my mistake), but what followed was entirely on the resort. I realized the same day I checked out (Friday) and immediately called during my 5-hour drive back home. I was assured housekeeping would confirm and someone would call me back. No call. I called again Saturday and was told there was a “backlog” of lost and found items. A backlog? This wasn’t a t-shirt or phone charger; it was my wallet with all of my ID and credit cards. Still, no one followed up. I emailed. Nothing. By Tuesday FOUR days later, I had to call again and leave a voicemail for a manager, and I have still not heard back.
This is appalling customer service. A guest leaves behind something as critical as a wallet, and the resort can’t even bother to pick up the phone or send a single email in response? For a place that markets itself as world-class, the lack of urgency and basic professionalism is shocking.
I will not be returning, and I would strongly caution others to think twice before trusting this resort with anything beyond the bare minimum.
- shanonwilson71 (2/5): Not at all empresses with this supposed 5 star resort and spa experience! - Have to say that for a supposed 5star resort they missed the mark on sooo many things!…and not sure I would waste your money on this place.
My husband bought me a gift certificate to the spa, well apparently you can’t use the spa unless your a guest, ..and gift certificates are “none refundable” so even when you try and book a staycation (oh did I mention I live in the area) I was still unable to book a spa treatment (apparently you have to book your spa treatments 6-8 weeks in advance!!)… so anyways we still went for a staycation so I could use the $600 gift certificate, that was none refundable for our stay instead. Check in was a bit of a wait, but got our room when we arrived, the rooms are beautiful and the views are breathtaking, but the amenities in your room or lack there of, leaves you scratching your head,..no coffee maker, no mini bar, just two lonely glasses in your room without even water for your arrival. Oh did I mention don’t forget to bring your own water bottle , and fill it up in the lobby of the hotel, cos you don’t even get that simple amenity in your room!…
The pool area was quite disappointing as well, they had quite a few guests when we where there, and had already closed half of the outside area(around the outside pool ) down for the season, even though the hotel was booked with guest, the weather is in the plus 30’s , and people are wanting to sit outside and take advantage of the outside infinity pool, and the gorgeous views of the okanagan lake. We had to sit inside while waiting for a chair on the pool patio to open up!…was quite disappointing. But that wasn’t it!…they have a good number of guests in the hotel and one restaurant open!…a coffee bar that doesn’t serve actual meals just pastries and snacks, along with coffee, tea, and beverages…if they haven’t ran out of them!…the staff in there were just going through the motions, and didn’t come to our table to take our order, had to go up to the till and place it ourselves (again for the supposed 5 star experience this hotel failed)…oh did I mention, again with the occupancy at the hotel while we were there, they had one restaurant opened for dinner, and you can’t make reservations…only opens at 5,it’s a first come first serve approach. Needless to say out of the whole experience the Germany restaurant (the only restaurant on the property open for dinner) was excellent, the views, the food, and our waiters was exceptional!
So to sum it all up, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my family or friends who are coming to the area, the prices are ridiculous for the service and attention that you are given for supposedly being a 5 star hotel,…so sad as this is where I live and I am embarrassed with this supposed “high end” …”luxurious” ‘spa experience” , “5 star” ……resort…extremely disappointed, and did I mention..WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!
Oh and one last thing, please be mindful of taking all your belonging with you when you leave, as the staff make it extremely hard to get in touch with them(usually at a 5 star you would think they would contact you to let you know they have your “forgotten iteam” … and help coordinate a solution for the return of your belongings left behind) at sparkling hills, the staff even after being contacted by you in regards to an iteam being left behind in your room, and to speak to someone about getting it returned, you get “it’s not my department, and that department has gone home for the day, can you call back another time”kind of answer ……only to finally get some communication with the right department a week later. To then finally arranging a pick up of the item …to find that the staff have already put their name on your iteam as their own(after the 21 day waiting period!)…and have left the not on your iteam for you to see !!…UNBEIVABLE!……sorry “joy” go get your own charger!
Again, not the experience you would expect from a so called 5 star resort/spa…don’t even get me started on the spa treatments!……
- Lisa (8/5): - The Pool amenities !! Disappointed that our bed didn't have a flat sheet. Called to have one delivered , one was brought up. It was still wet from the laundry , so had ro call to get another one. Having to spend a half an hour before bed to get that sorted was Disappointing !!

- Evrope (8/5): Couple from Calgary L&J - We did have great opportunity and stay for three nights in August 2025.
Resort is stunning and view from our special Birthday and anniversary room was spectacular thanks to our boys for this surprise!!
Daily breakfast chooses very nice, we try every day something different.
Spa was little disappointed t as we try to book two weeks before our arrival. Girl told us everything is book and people booking months before. WELL, if you get this as present gift you do not have the time to do that!
Luckily we get at least 1/2 hour massage as somebody cancel day we arrived.
All saunas and pools was nice experience.
Time to check out is very early and extra change is little over board.
Very bad is situation with sun beds people are putting staff on the concrete so maybe add more would be great idea.
Our stay was nice and we enjoy time in resort even with little hiccups on the way.
Thank you all staff they doing good job!!
L & J from Calgary
- Taylor (6/5): Not worth the price - Saunas/ steam/ pool area were 10/10
Really loved the complimentary breakfast I booked my room months in advance and they put us on the first floor, all the quests walking in could see into our room and it was noisy/ disruptive. Our room was super hot, A/C was not working.
- Jobin (2/5): Overpriced. Outdated. Not luxury. - Beautiful location. Room was messy. Location of room was inconvenient- had to go up a level and come back down to avoid spa to access lobby. Food at restaurants subpar for a resort like property and incredibly over priced. Access to sauna is only after 2pm. Unable to reach reception and spa pre visit and at hotel during visit. Rooms are dated and while experience felt over priced and not of the standards of a 4 star property.
