Guest Reviews
- Ronald (10/5): - Great place great people
- Jesse (10/5): - The property was immaculately kept, the gardens where beautifully. The room was 10 /10, it was very quiet and very romantic for couples, highy recomed staying at this property
- Paulita (8/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed the whole area, the even leveled swimming pool. We had the place to ourselves so it was extra peaceful.
- Michael (10/5): A little piece of Heaven! - We were met right at our taxi by staff, welcomed warmly with a complimentary drink and easy check in. Escorted to a beautiful, spacious room with balcony overlooking the sea. The restaurant was an extremely pleasant surprise, as we didn’t want to venture out after a long day of travel. It was modestly priced with excellent food and service. Only 4 rooms in this wonderful boutique hotel, which gives you the feel of having your own Villa. We highly recommend and look forward to returning when we return to this lovely country.
- James (10/5): - Travel to and from is not the best. The staff is wonderful and food made fresh. Can set by pool while meal is being prepared.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Driveway in bad shape take a car not trike, very quite 20 min from town.
- rbrown406 (10/5): Two nights and relaxation - My wife and I spent 2 nights at Star View Boutique Resort to just unwind and relax. The weather was not conducive to relaxing by the pool, but we enjoyed the very spacious room and amenities. We had massages and great food. The staff is wonderful and were friendly and helpful. The owner stopped by for a few minutes one morning at breakfast and we enjoyed a short chat. As stated, the rooms are very large with full closet, kitchen, and bathroom. Everything is of good quality, and we really enjoyed the meals. Thanks for a great stay!
- Matt (10/5): - Rooms are beautiful, staff are very attentitve. They do their best to make you feel special.
Highly recommend.
- Antony (10/5): - Excellent place to stay
- Richard (10/5): Absolutely Fantastic! - Absolutely fantastic place!
- Candice (10/5): What a Gem in Dumaguete-Sibulan-San Jose area! - We felt at home at Star View Boutique Hotel. The staff was very accommodating- anticipating our every need. We loved the fresh fruit platter, and coffee. The kids especially loved the fried chicken- even the pickiest eater loved it! The pool was the funnest part for both adults and kids, with the swing, hammocks, and other rest areas on the sides. The room and living space themselves were very spacious, and functional- except the TV that was defective but we really didn’t use it, except to entertain the kids during downtime. For the negatives, the road going up the hotel was dirt rocky road of a very short distance but noticeable enough because it is steep and coarse. Another is in the bathroom, the lack of anti-slip material in the generously-sized shower area: not for young and elderly guests because floor was slippery.
Over-all, I highly recommend the place for families- it’s the perfect place to stay when in the Dumaguete area for families and several group of friends!
- fossilvents (10/5): Best small resort in Negros Oriental - My fourth short stay here. Huge suite overlooking the pool, very comfy, very quiet and peaceful, and the wifi is mostly OK. The food is delicious, staff are friendly and helpful, the pool is a good size and spotlessly clean, and the garden is full of birdsong and has shady areas.
Any downsides? Mobile signal is weak in the area, and the espresso could be stronger. That's all.
Overall a wonderful place to chill and recharge. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. And they allow my small dog to stay with me (not sure if this applies to all dogs so ask first).
- paul (10/5): - All aspects of this resort were excellent.
The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.
The owner also was very helpful ensuring everything about our stay was excellent and that everything was always very good.
- daggers1284 (10/5): Superb - This place was just what was needed for a few days to relax after a long flight, massive comfortable room, huge comfortable bed, absolute peace and quiet, we had the place to ourselves and the staff, Manni and Clare were absolutely incredible, whatever they are being paid is simply not enough. The food was spectacular. It is expensive for Phillipines, but its worth it.
- Tony Douglas (10/5): - It was such a beautiful place to stay, will definitely revisit
- Phileas_Fogg_UK (10/5): Lovely - We had a lovely stay here at Villa Pedro, we are recolating to Negros Oriental soon, this was our exploratory trip and the Villa Pedro staff couldn't have been more helpful.
We had a lovely suite with balcony and views, their restaurant is good and their beer cold, we may be back soon.
- PennaBrighton (10/5): luxurious place to stay near Dumaguete - we had a lovely 3 night stay here over the Christmas period. The staff were so helpful and friendly with all our questions and advising us on excursions. With our party occupying 2 of only 4 (huge and beautiful) suites, the experience felt like we were staying in almost our own country house! Absolutely delicious food was cooked to order. Gorgeous pool too. The house is in a great location for visiting the twin lakes, and is about half an hour from Dumaguete by motorcycle rickshaw.
- GARY (10/5): - FANTASTIC PROPERTY; SUPER NICE STAFF, GREAT FOOD, VERY PERSONALIZED SERVICE, STAYED HERE JUNE 20-30, 2019
WILL STAY HERE AGAIN!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is of the highest standard we have seen in the whole of the Philippines so far. It is absolutely perfect!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff, polite and professional. Peaceful place to unwind.
- FrancisHarvey (10/5): - Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff and owner, we will definitely stay again in 2019
- CNB1980 (10/5): Great Hotel, Amazing Staff and Food! - This is hands down one of the most amazing hotels we've been too. Small boutique hotel with the most amazingly helpful, friendly and welcoming staff. The food was great, the hotel is very well maintained. It's a little oasis on a hill. It's out of town but the local transport is easy, frequent and safe. Loved it, will definitely be back. Highly recommend it. Thank you Villa Pedro :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed in the beautiful suite. Arrived late so couldn’t enjoy the hotel tovthe max but it looked lovely. Had pancakes for breakfast which was presented nicely and tasted amazing.
- Alberto (10/5): Totally recommend staying here... - Totally enjoyed our stay here, so relaxing to come back to each day
- Pleunster (10/5): Amazing food, amazing service, amazing surroundings: loved it! - We didn't actually stay here, but we had dinner in the lovely garden by the pool!
The staff was amazing, while also taking care of a large group, they never forgot about us and they always make sure we were happy.
The food was very tasty, never before did I have such a succulent chicken breast, even when cooking it myself! Very impressive! And yummy. Hubby had the chicken halang halang and loved it.
The menu has tons of healthy options, and I'm sure the rest tastes incredible as well.
It's not cheap, but price-quality was very balanced in our opinion.
And when it was time for us to go home, the staff made sure we got there safely! Thanks guys, you rock! ❤️
- Lutz (8/5): - Very nice location and room. Friendly and accomodating staff. Food is a bit expensive for the area.
- pyreticdamsel (10/5): Best place to stay in dumaguete - Clean, private and friendly staff. The rooms are HUGE. There are only 4 villas in the property and they are strict with the number of people so you can be assured it's a quiet stay. The place is well maintained, the pool is cleaned everyday, plants are properly trimmed. The owner also drops by to thank you for the stay. Definitely recommending this.
- David (10/5): - Spacious and felt like home. No doubt the best place stayed at while visiting the Philippines.
- Davidban69 (10/5): Brilliant!! - What a find! Great location, beautiful views, and wonderful accomodation. The service and restaurant fantastic with beautiful staff. Welcomed by owner. Only 4 units, intimate and friendly. Great value.
- Anthony (8/5): - Once the visitor issue was resolved, matters improved markedly. We found both the staff and owners to be delightful and we enjoyed our overall experience very much. In summary; we recommend the place and we'll stay there again.
Thank you for asking our opinion...we appreciate ORBITZ and will continue to use your excellent service also.

- Niko_sta (8/5): Relax and enjoy - Taking a express bus from Cebu city to Dumaguete is very comfortable and easy way reach this charming resort as long you gonna tell driver stop in star view resorts, not Pedro villa. Big sign can be found besides the national highway. We accidentally passed a sign and found ourselves close to dumaguete city what ment tricycle trip back with a challenge of luggages and baby stroller.
Resort is very well kept and clean, located in the hill means sort of physical challenges to older customers. Security is good as far it felt safe and warm welcoming check in.
Room is spacious and having a silent inverter aircon, what i really missed was black out curtains because red curtains in the morning sun six o'clock ment reflection of urgent wake up really too early. Shower room was stylish but one construction issue, shower door opens just partly. Lots of ants everywhere, but never distract my sleeping.
Food is really delicious, reasonably priced, service over all outstanding. We were staying five nights mostly alone, no other customers. Visiting dumaguete is sometimes challenging, busses are driving fast passing the resort and didn't care us waving hands in the highway. To dumaguete distance is 14 km, so it's kinda a far away.
But overall, beautiful place with lovely wiev , warm and attentive service. Love to be back again. Good value for the money
- simar2016 (10/5): Cozy & conmfy - Kind & nice staff, friendly owner, easy access to yellow bus to go to town, peaceful, vary clean & good furniture,... can’t be better among philippines accommodations, the food they serve is perfect, definitely come back again
- benjaminzoghi (10/5): AWESOME - Very good place to stay in Dumaguete, I think Best, only 4 room, very clean very quiet very polite staff and very delicious food, room very clean and facility are well prepared, we will come back again, everything was great great
- jellaa2016 (10/5): True boutique hotel experience - There is no shortage of places to stay in dumaguete city however it is filled with guest houses and budget hotels which attract mostly the "rowdy" crowd. The Villa Pedro is out of the way but not so far out that you miss the nightlife entirely, a scenic 20 min tricycle ride to the center that is worth the calm, peaceful, intimate atmosphere that this hotel has to offer. In boutique style, service is genuinely friendly and attentive it gives you a feel that you are more than just a customer. You really get beter value for money, the room itself is huge and so well cleaned and maintained which provincial hotels are not very known for. The quality of the furnishings and the linen are a big plus for me. Theres also a lot of things to do nearby like kayaking in the twins lakes or a day trip dolphin watching and swimming in the sand bar. The food is also amazing, prices are reasonable and everything comes with soup and salad, i would recommend it for for romantic dinners. The lush grounds and pool would entice you to just stay there the whole day and lounge around with cocktails and a good book. The hotel is small in a way that it is cozy and relaxing, you would have a feeling that you are away from the maddening crowd. I spent 2 nights extended to 4 after and i felt like it was not enough. It is a great place to relax and bond with nature as well your special someone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good location, on a hill by the sea. 7km from the city centre, very quiet and beautiful, close to the beautiful tourist spot Bais city. The room was large, with a kitchen. Clean swimming pool and good food cheap price. It was worth your while to stay for a whole week.
- Rick (10/5): A Jewel - My Filipina girlfriend and I stayed here in last week of April, 2018. If you want to rest and relax, this is your place. This is not on the beach however, and I would advise a top floor room if interested in a little better view. I asked my girlfriend to marry me, when we stayed there, she said yes!
- 892edwardc (10/5): Boutique equals personal touch in Philippines - Friendly personal service, easy booking, easy check in and off we go to a well appointed modern room and then a fantastic dinner of usda quality. All of the staff was well trained and eager to please, I think Michel (the owner who greets you) did a superb job of training in each department. I would highly recommend this hotel to all, but most especially to expats who would like the feel of home and modern conveniences.
- waterfalls_11 (10/5): Home from home - Dumaguete is a very big city and San jose where Vila Pedro is situated ( 30 min away from Dumaguete) is a tranquil and peaceful getaway. It is quiet and peaceful and the staff who work there are AMAZING! We were welcomed by the owners and really felt as if we were visiting family! It is small but the food was delicious and we could not of been made to feel more welcome. We booked a diving trip and everything was organised. The rooms are also stunning! Thank you!!!
- ksoftly (8/5): Best place to relax and enjoy the comfort - We stayed in Villa Pedro for only one night. Great place just outside Dumaguete. Our room was really very comfortabel with at least 75 m2. Please be advised to take the rooms with the wonderful view at the ocean.
The staff is very helpful and kind. In my opinion the best hotel nearby Sibulan /DGTE.
- Ollo52 (2/5): Middle of nowhere - Located in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do; given this location they overcharge the transfers both to the port and the airport.
"Restaurant" is also pretty bad with no healthy option - rooms have a kitchen if you are jn cooking mood though (but not sure where you buy the ingredients).
Not worth the price at all compared to other hotels in the area (especially Siquijor).
- AzconaBeatrice (10/5): nice place!! - We stayed with my boyfriend here , love the place its quiet with a nice view.. room was very spacious ,clean and they have a kitchen were you can just cooked if you feel like it. The owners are very warm, friendly and accommodating.. food was good. i highly recommend this place"-)
- MeaghanY (10/5): The Perfect Get Away - Everything was wonderful! Where do I begin? We were greeted by their onsite shuttle service at the airport upon arriving and brought back to the resort. Upon entering the gated resort (With guard and trained dogs which made me feel very safe) we were greeted by Michel for check in. The fountains were flowing into the pool and it was beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed a refreshing tropical drink while we sat with Michel and went over what we'd like to do while there. Michel was most helpful in our activity planning process and you can certainly get to where you need to go pretty easily from the resort. You can get around either by shuttle or a rentable onsite scooter. You can even pick up a bus at the end of the driveway.
Once we concluded check in, we got settled and changed to sit by the pool. We got Mojitos. Let me tell you, these are the best Mojito's I've ever had. They were delicious! Mary-Ann has created the perfect Mojito!
Throughout the week Mary-Ann and Michel were attentive and very helpful. They helped coordinate our activities and transportation. Mary-Ann was so generous when she realized we didn't have an underwater camera for our snorkel trip with us, she lent us hers. (that was certainly above and beyond and we no doubt appreciated it greatly!) Mary-Ann is also an excellent cook. Everything was fresh and prepared perfectly.
All in all, a wonderful trip and we hope to be back again! Michel and Mary-Ann were great hosts and made us feel very safe and welcome. They have thought of everything to make their guests stay extremely enjoyable.
