- Ramon G (2/5): - We arrived on Monday to the address on Expedia; turned out it was the wrong address. Room was upgraded to a “better” room because of the whole address situation is was just substandard. There were stones in the sink for decor but it was just not hygienic and smelled bad. Bugs in the room, the free breakfast and lunch no where to be found, i asked some one for coffee the sent me to “gomart “, we checked out Tuesday morning went to another hotel and the receptionist said while laughing that we were not getting a refund for leaving two days early.

Being the low season we were one of the few guests there and honestly I can’t understand why more people weren’t there. Despite the seaweed we had a great time, instead of the ocean we visited cenotes and the pools at the sister properties. Absolutely perfect stay!

- Jonathan (10/5): - I was a little nervous to travel to Tulum, I’d heard that it’s very expensive, that a lot of people had a bad time and just as many had a good time. You know, classic mixed reviews. Here’s my experience; We flew into the Tulum Airport and after being received after customs by undercover Time Share salesmen (& women) masquerading as a Taxi Service - we settled on Jungle Taxi. Very nice people and we haggled a ride to the hotel and back for our return flight. Next came the hotel - we arrived and met Marciel- a very nice gentleman and very polite and well mannered. He spoke the directions in English and took a long time explaining the accommodations to us, which I enjoyed. His vibe was basically, you are here for a while so you’re basically family - let me know what I can do to help you. & he lived up to that and was helpful Every day - so thank you, Marciel! Manuela poured our welcome drink - one of the main bartenders of the resort. Condrado helped us with anything else we needed while we lounged on the beach. We have enjoyed this experience and I would highly recommend Orchid Beach to anyone visiting Tulum. We stayed in Brassavola - a room on a second floor and close to the street entrance of the resort. This resort is quiet at night. I slept very well, no raves or loud bars nearby. Nice place for relaxing retreat or a small family. Be kind to the staff, don’t be a POS. You’re a representative of your country whether you like it or not.

On top of that, they charged us for self-tanner on the sheets, even though it washed out. Overall, a frustrating and unpleasant stay.

- Jessica (8/5): - Our stay in the Orchid Master suite was well worth the spend, the room and private rooftop plunge pool were incredible and as luxurious as advertised. The beach was nice and staff were friendly and accomodating, however it is not adults only as advertised and there were lots of families/children given day passes to the beach. There is also a festival sized beach club down the road which blasts loud music until 1am, so don’t expect to sleep before this time. It is a little removed from other restaurants/shops and the in-hotel dining stops at 6:30pm, so we’d recommend eating early or planning ahead so you aren’t wandering the beach or the main road (which has no footpaths) at night for food options. There are also limited transport options to and from the property, and shuttles to and from Tulum or Cancun are very expensive.
- Monisha Shantele (8/5): - I enjoyed my stay overall and would book again. I don’t agree that this is a 5-star hotel but would rate it a strong 3-stars. The restaurant should stay open later than 6pm (on the weekends) and there should be 24-hour concierge to help with things like calling taxis, etc. The hotel is located in an area that is very dark at night so walking to/from bars is not advised if you’re alone. I was pleasantly surprised to not have any issues with bugs in the room considering we’re surrounded by the jungle. The property was well maintained and has a cozy beach club to lounge during the day.

- Christopher (10/5): - Intament stay with great drinks, food and staff. Private beach! You can pay for daily access if you are not a guest. We stayed 4 nights in Cambria 1, which is the room right on the beach. WOW! We were very happy with our choice as this was our first time staying right on the beach. The room has a balcony with an ocean view that is amazing, cold plunge pool, hamock, chairs, and a table. We couldn't believe how great it was! The staff completed the experience and atmosphere with amazing service. We thought the coffee and food were delicious and reasonably priced. Passion in the jungle was our go-to beverage of the week and is a must try here, tequila with fresh watermelon and passion fruit! During our stay we for breakfast, we had the hotcakes, scrambled eggs with bacon and ham and cheese omlet. For dinner, we enjoyed the chicken tacos and quesadilla. All the food was terrific with great flavor and well portioned. Things to know: There was no tv in the room and in our opinion who cares didn't need one or miss it! Wifi worked well during our stay. The shower and sink water seemed to be filtere sea water, so make sure you have plenty of bottled water. They do supply you some in the room each day. Things in reviews we feel differently about: We felt safe the entire time and frequently left our shoes, sandles, and clothes outside and never had an issue with anything getting stolen. The staff NEVER tried to steal our money and went out of their way to explain and answer all of o

There was an issue with the sink in the room we booked, so they upgraded us to a very nice larger room with a rooftop deck. Just know that the rooms are all along the path that leads to the beach club, so durin g the day it can feel a little less private although the evenings/overnight it feels very quiet and private. And our room had an open window (no screen/closure) in the shower to the outdoors, which gives a nice indoor/outdoor vibe in theory but in reality leads to bugs.

Room service comes everyday and it’s like the know when you leave. They provide fresh beach towels everyday, you can exchange them yourself or leave them in the room and they will change them. The beach club attached to the hotel has beautiful seating right on the beach. The only (very small) downside is that the beach club’s food isn’t great and quite costly. Overall, this was the perfect place for us for quite, relaxing, and nature filled vacation.

We booked the deluxe king room with the private rooftop and let me tell you it was amazing, on the rooftop you get sunrise and sunset views. The staff at orchid beach house are so warm and welcoming. Food & cocktails were also so delicious and unique. I highly recommed this boutique resort and would definitely go back!

- Paula (10/5): - My week at Orchid Beach House was magical, but there are pros and cons. Pros: - Right on a beautiful beach. - The view from my room was incredible. Sea-view rooms are limited, but all rooms are steps from the sand. - Comfortable bed, good shower (rustic = salty water). - The food and drinks were delicious: great tacos with fresh tortillas (fish, steak, and shrimp were my favorites), ceviches, aguachile rojo, salads, a burger, and great breakfast options. They take pride in their food. - The staff are friendly and accommodating (beach club staff, chefs, housekeeping, front desk) - The beach setup is quite good. It's quieter - no loud music, which I loved. - Great massage is available in the white tent on the beach next to the hotel. Lily was incredible. - Checkin and checkout were easy - I'm not sure what all the complaints are about; the staff takes reviews seriously and makes course corrections. Cons: - It's rustic - this was not a con for me, but it could be for some. You're in the jungle. - The rooms were nicely decorated; however, there were no drawers—only shelves—and my sliding door did not lock from the inside (I never felt unsafe). - It is easy to get taxis; however, the taxi mafia is in full force. It costs 500 pesos to go one mile; you could haggle and maybe get it for 400, but you need to factor this in. - The kitchen closes early: 6:30 pm. - Tulum is expensive - everywhere. - The new Tulum airport is easier, but still a 45 drive; Transport is costly.

Stayed 2 days and felt unsafe, was charge over $700 to my AMEX by checkout when the gentleman noticed i was in a hurry, asked for a refund and been waiting since, they don't even answer my WhatsApp messages anymore ( Paola who promised i would receive my refund within 5 days ) Please avoid it, they will steal and overcharge you, there's plenty of beautiful more safer hotels in Tulum.

- collin (6/5): - Good location. Front desk was pleasant. Very basic amenities and without a pool. The security personnel were more focused on policing us from having relatively low-key fun than ensuring the resort was secure from the outside. Take note of the condition of your room so they don't try and charge you for damages later on.
- Luis (10/5): - The property was absolutely beautiful and exactly as pictured. The staff was very friendly and they were very attentive. We stayed at the Cambria suite and it was everything we expected. The only thing I wish they had was a long mirror inside the suite or a better mirror in the bathroom. The mirror in the bathroom is pretty high up and it was difficult for me to get ready. Other than that it was perfect.
- Amanda (6/5): - Overall we enjoyed our trip. Things we liked: our room, the overall look of the hotel - very cute. The beach was clean and beach chairs well taken care of. The front desk staff was very helpful and quick to respond. However, there were things listed about the hotel online that were not true. The hotel lists as an adults only venue; however, there were children staying there during our stay. Also, the website said a continental breakfast was included - it was not. The website says mini-fridge with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages - there were no snacks and any beverages you took you were charged for. I feel like the online listing should be updated to accurately reflect their current practice. We did not find that the service at the beach club was very friendly or timely. Also, the hours they were open for food/drink changed daily and it was difficult to plan meals not knowing when they would be serving.

Easy walk to beach clubs etc. Negatives: staff were quite pushy with food and drinks (which were really overpriced), tip was added to absolutely everything - even per night on our bill when we checked out, and there was no effort made to clear the seaweed, which other hotels had done further along.

- Diana (10/5): - We stayed for 5 nights in the Cambria suite. Our room was cleaned daily, staff was attentive, food and drinks were very good, and fairy priced. If you are looking for an authentic experience this is the place for you. The water in the shower is a bit salty but you quickly get used to that. Location wise this property is close enough to all of the beach clubs but far enough that the music doesn’t disturb during the night. We thank you for your hospitality and for having security during the night by the beach entrance and the main street.

- Nicole (2/5): - Absolutely horrible experience my boyfriend and I had here we left one night to stay at another hotel our family had we left our belongings passports and $4,000 in our safe and the next morning the hotel got shutdown by local police and government due to unapproved construction the staff at the hotel took our belongings and placed it in their sister hotel however the staff who cleared our room took it upon themselves to open our safe without our permission and stole the cash that was inside our safe. the safe weighs less than 20 pounds and could have easily been transferred over without being unopened. The time the incident happened was at 8 am and I was not contacted by the hotel until nearly 11 am almost 3 hours after. The customer experience after was extremely horrible the manger of the hotel took days to respond and was absolutely nasty when replying back and has not helped us one bit. It took me days of fighting with the social media team just to get in contact with him. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. If you are looking for a good place to stay check out “Mia by Selina”, Tago and “Ana y Jose” those are good resorts in the area. Do not come to the orchid beach house and do not trust the staff there

Beach gets clean from seaweed, so beachside is clear & the greenery was outstanding. Security on site every night! There is some remodeling happening right now by the the beach bar with mild noise but not a big deal! Overall I would definitely recommend Orchid to all my family.

There was a lot of seaweed and some trash on their beach but we didn’t stay on the beach so much because of the scattered showers. The last day was gorgeous and pretty clear though. We loved the welcome drinks! We would definitely stay here again! PS most of cab drivers didn’t know where this place was because it’s kind of small so we would just tell them it’s across the popular restaurant called Parole.

Orchid Beach House is the perfect place if you're looking for a relaxing holiday on the beach, but still want to be close to the party zone with all the bars and restaurants. The staff is fantastic, Mariela kindly arranged my transport back to the airport, as well as my Covid test onsite. The rooms are clean, quiet and fairly spacious, and the food delicious. I'm already looking at booking my next stay there!

- Patrick (10/5): - We stayed in a beautiful ocean-front bungalow that had a private rooftop hot tub and hammock. Perfect location to enjoy Tulum's beautiful beaches. The hotel is also directly across the street from Parole, a gorgeous Italian restaurant with excellent cocktails and food. Definitely recommend if you're there. Special thanks to Antonio who checked us in and also leads the salsa classes in the afternoon. Very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
- Leah (10/5): - Following the recommendation of a friend from many years ago, I decided to book a short stay at My Way. The property is quite small, like other original beach properties in Tulum, but is beautifully kept. The rooms are super cute and everything you would need for a stay in Tulum. I also loved that each of the rooms had their own little outside sitting area. The location is great because it’s on the main beach without being in the main strip of restaurants where it’s louder. I really enjoyed my stay here and look forward to returning!
- Veronica (8/5): Lovely Stay - We had a great time at My Way. The staff was incredible and helpful, booking taxis, covid tests, and bringing us such great breakfast and lunches while we enjoyed the ocean view. The resort is kept so clean and beautiful. Our room, the Imperial, was beautiful. We had plenty of space for our week stay. The one caveat I want to warn travelers about is the noise level in this specific room- there is a night club, Parole, across the street from My Way. We could hear techno music until 2am every night. We brought a blue tooth stereo, and the room had one, so with both of those playing white noise, we were able to sleep. Our friends who stayed in other suites couldn’t hear anything, so if you’re a light sleeper, it might be worth asking the very helpful staff their recommendations for quieter rooms. :) Overall, our stay was dreamy and I’d recommend!

This was an anniversary gift from me to my wife and it was a HUGE let town to be so deceived.

It says parking not included but they have a few spots out front and we got one of them which was nice! The hotel is small so it's easy for the staff to assist. The garden room was just as described and expected; however, there was not a TV in the room. We did not mind this for it's nice to disconnect and actually be outside and enjoy the Tulum vibes. Extremely satisfied with the hotel and again a wonderful stay. Thank you :)
- Verified traveler (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE. MY ROOM WAS ROBBED! - Do not stay here!! My room was robbed for thousands of dollars of things including laptops and jewelry!!! The hotel refuses to refund me, despite my stay being ruined as a result of the negligent security. I was locked out of the hotel when trying to return in the evening multiple times because the front door was locked and the security guard was asleep every night. I was also locked inside the hotel many times when trying to leave because it gets locked on the inside and requires a key to get out (which I couldn't open because the security guard was SLEEPING). I am still waiting to be refunded for my belongings and the stay. I do not recommend staying here if you want to feel safe. I' upset that I trusted hotel.com to have honest rating of this hotel. It is not good, not safe, and unreliable. How can a good hotel have absolutely no security??

- Verified traveler (8/5): - First I’ll start with the bad to get it out of the way. I really only had 2 gripes about this place. The biggest one was how they kept their section of beach. During our whole stay none of the staff bothered to clean the seaweed the washed up to their section of beach. I wouldn’t have an issue with that but EVERY single hotel next to them always had someone with a shovel keeping their section nice and clean. Ours was the only one that had piles of seaweed on top. Pretty bummed out about that. The hotel next to us allowed pets in so I saw a couple dogs pooping in front of our seating area. That’s the most disappointing part of it especially since there is a HUGE vacant lot literally right next to us where they can dump it all. Like I said, I know the seaweed is out of their control but this was the ONLY hotel in a 10 hotel span that we walked by that had NO ONE keeping the beach clean. It also had trash accumulated in the seaweed like bags and water bottles. The only other small gripe I had was the bar staff, this is the first hotel I go to where they do not constantly go out to the beach to clean up and offer you any more drinks...I mean the hotel only had like 10 rooms so they can easily take their time to go offer you an extra drink instead of us having to go ask for one, considering cost. Other than that the staff was nice, rooms where gorgeous (we stayed in the amanecer suite with the pool on the roof), the breakfast we had was very delicious and rooms where kept clean.
