Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Eduardo (6/5): It was alright - Hotel is outdated. But staff is really nice
- Jee Eun (8/5): - 1
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst hotel ever! - Worst hotel I was!
The bed was hard like table, with only a sheet, curtains completely translucid. Used soap and toothpaste.
Pictures are not real
We booked two nights and we stayed only one... We rather pay another hotel than sleep more nights there!
It was the first time check out a hotel with remaining night stay, but I never was in a so unconfortable hotel.
PS: Business hotel? Ha, ha, ha...
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very large rooms with computers and entertaining nook. If you are here for adult fun or business and can live with nicotine smell than his is a very good choice for price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - An old motel. Rooms need updating. Sink, shower, and toilet all together. Linens too old. Will not stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed here several times. Staff is great. Hotel is quite dated but rooms are comfortable
- SHUK KWAN (8/5): -
- Jeun (2/5):
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Old building but nice staff.
Air conditioner not effective. Pillows too big.
- Steven (6/5): You Get What You Pay For - This is a perfect example of "you get what you pay for". Need a quick one night stay in Seoul on the super cheap? This is adequate. By no means bring your spouse or family to this establishment. Check in staff was nice enough, "free breakfast" was abysmal, wi-fi adequate, but conditions are in line with the price.
- Sand&Salt (6/5):
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stayed there a couple of times. There are more choices that I'll consider next time.
- Kris (10/5): Good stay - Great experience
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - 호텔 조식이라는게 식빵과 딸기 쨈이 전부더라고요....^^;;;
Know more about this hotel before making reservation:
1. About 8-10 minutes’ walk from the nearest exit of underground.
2. Not sure if it was just a coincidence, the Front Desk staff could hardly communicate in English. Mainly Korean.
3. Better prepare your own toothpaste and comb. Those provided by the hotel are not one-time tools. While shampoo, conditioner and bath lotion are all available.
4. The so-called breakfast is incredibly MINIMAL. Make your own toast with strawberry jam and coffee in the lobby. Eat in your room. That’s it.
5. Several convenient stores and supermarkets near the hotel. Easy to pick what you want.
6. Korean rice rolls and fried chicken opposite to the hotel. And several local restaurants nearby.
- termar (8/5): Fine for a couple of nights - Stayed in Daegu to visit the Haeinsa Temple and fly to Jeju Island. The subway was about ten minutes away which was fine. The hotel itself has a decent lobby. The most bizarre thing was a suggested 1700 check in. Access to the room was available by at least 1545 so something better. Staff English was limited but able to arrange the taxi ride to the Haeinsa Temple. The rooms are fine. Wifi was reliable. The number of toiletries was very good, including a collection of hair brushes [if needed] and after shave. The most disappointing feature was breakfast, bad enough in the lobby but just toast, cake and coffee. When I stayed there, few businessmen were in sight. A different practice was leaving the hotel key on departure in a box in the elevator.
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very bad experience - We are a group of 3 families booked 3 double rooms for 3 nights. Since our flight delayed, we arrived at the hotel around 11:30pm. When we check-in, the front desk lady, who has a very bad attitude, said because we didn't mention about 3 little kids (who are only few years old and sleep with their parents) in our booking (we explained that since they sleep with their parents and don't need extra bed, so we didn't book larger room because it's unnecessary), we had to add beds in our rooms. We are ok with the arrangement and pay 30,000won for the extra beds each day for day 2 and 3. but for the night we arrived, they requested us to book an extra room with other extra fees for a total of 170,000won. We know because we have 3 little kids and 1 baby while it's almost midnight (about 12am after the discussion) already, this front desk lady (and the English translator) trying to hold us to ransom and pay the unreasonable excessive fee. A family of 3 decided to look for a hotel room somewhere and when we told the front desk lady about our decision, she said they won't be able to find any room in other places in a very impolite way. It's totally unacceptable for being so rude and impolite towards the customers. Fortunately they are able to find a room with even better quality for only 111,500won.
In comparison, we went to Busan after our stay in Daegu, the hotel in Busan didn't ask us to pay anything extra even they know there are 3 extra kids that didn't mention in our booking.
- AaronB13 (2/5): No business calling it Business...or even a hotel - Why they call this a business hotel is beyond me. I actually thought it was a joke when I walked into my hotel room for the first time. My room was laid out very awkwardly with no doors on the bathroom. There was only one light switch/control panel for all lights in the room which was near the corner of the bed and unreachable unless you were on the bed or sticking your arm through the wall from the bathroom. A hard plastic/vinyl couch with a small table in front of it was really the only place to sit and work unless you could sit on a small stool with no back on it on the desk attached to the wall. The bed was hard as a rock. There was no actual shower with a fixed shower head and area to take a shower. I had to use a wand in the awkwardly large round tub. The hotel provided one towel and a few hand towels, but stored them in the main living area instead of the bathroom. The soap was reused by who knows how many people. There were dirty combs and brushes available as well as a tube of used toothpaste. They advertise free breakfast, but bread and jam for toast is not breakfast. No good options nearby either for food other than a market next door to buy something to eat in your room. Only good thing was that you could turn off the heater as a lot of hotels don't let you in Korea and the television was large. I just felt dirty and uncomfortable for the entire time I was in the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): schoon - Voordelen: VIP-kamer echt van alle gemakken voorzien met veel extra luxe (verwarmd bed, 2 badkamers, eigen computer, grootscherm tv, koelkast, enkele gratis drankjes, etc.), vriendelijk personeel, nabij metroingang Hyonchong-ro.
Nadelen: enigszins buiten centrum en pover ontbijt.
- irenej_11 (10/5): Apsan business hotel - Friendly staff, clean and inexpensive hotel.
Coffee shops and food nearby.
Not too far from a train station.
Most people in Daegu don't speak or understand English, however i have had a wonderful time.
- worm91dj (8/5): Apsan - Reasonable price. Smooth check-in. Quiet area close to downtown Daegu. Room was ok, some space and the bathroom was good. Staff speaks very little english. Easy to get a taxi outside. Would come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- michael (8/5): Good for a night. Reasonable price. - VIP room was fine.
- dale (8/5): Great - Would have given an excellent but there is not enought light in the room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Do not stay at this place!!! - The stay at this hotel is extrememly dissappointed. The location is far from the KTX station and subway station. This is at best a two stars motel and it is not a hotel at all. The mattress is very hard. The carpet in the room is very old and dirty. I really have nothing good to say about this hotel. There are better love motels out there by the ktx station.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel. Quiet and safe and night. - Good room service. Clean room. It was on the highest floor so i was expecting a better view at the window.
- rtb (6/5): smells - website states "non-smoking" rooms, but room stank like smoke - there was even an ash tray in the room and in the hallway.
- LC612 (4/5): Very poor.Cannot understand why there are good reviews of this hotel here. - Carpet in room was tatty and unclean and had not even been vacuumed. Despite a 'free translation' sign in the reception area the staff only spoke a few words of English and as a result kept providing us with incorrect information. On two occassions they tried to charge us money for things we had not used/ asked for. It wasn't possible for us to have laundry done at all despite repeated enquires to different staff members, as they couldnt tell us how much it would cost, or how long it would take to do the laundry (and we were only staying there for a few days). The reception area smelled unclean. The carpets in the hallways were unclean and tatty. One evening we bumped into an incredibly drunk man right outside the hotel who, disturbingly, had a very young child with him. Doesnt seem like a very nice area. Had to hold my breath in the hotel lift because of the smoky/unclean smell. Our room was badly lit and quite dingy. There were a few unexplained dirty marks on the walls and flooring. The bed was okay, the sheets were clean and the staff were able to arrange a taxi for us to the airport when we left. Not sure why this is marketed as a business hotel. There was no desk space in the hotel room and nowhere really to do any work in the hotel. Wifi access was free but sporadic. There is also some kind of nightclub in the basement.
Can't understand why there are good reviews of this hotel on this site. The people who wrote these must have had very different experiences than we had. Price was okay but there must be better budget hotels available than this.
- philsZ7119HX (10/5): Quality for price - Just spent 2 nights here while visiting family. Not a 5-star hotel but 5-star value. Great location, very clean, friendly staff (no English but understand). Yes, bed was VERY hard but got a good night's sleep. Caution for non-smokers: some rooms smell of smoke but not overly. Will definitely stay here next trip.
- michael (8/5): Nice Hotel - Friendly service
- shana (10/5): Nice hotel - The staff were very friendly and were always willing to help. We got there a hour before checking time and rgey worked with us to get out even though it wasn't checking in time. Wonderful hotel, VIP room was amazing.
- Mrsrobynz (6/5): Nice, clean, functional - We fell for their scheme to upgrade our room. The room was spacious and kept clean. We were grateful for fridge. Downside was the trick to upgrade, the poor lighting in the washroom which made shaving and makeup application sketchy and as mentioned in other reviews - the rock hard bed. This hotel was a good location - within walking distance to the green line subway. As in most areas, convenience stores and a myriad of local mom and pop restaurants. For the money, this was a cost effective lodging. While we had a complimentary breakfast, we did not try it. The coffees in the lobby was too weak
- Verified traveler (10/5): Just book it don't think - Hotel is very good. VIP room is very good.
- Tushar (8/5): Comfortable stay at Apsan. - It was a 3 Night stay and was comfortable one. Front desk was helpful although have some difficulties in conversation in English but its works for me.
Only issue is with the toilet design it is full made of glass with big gaps in between. A tough situation with family, rest is good and absolute no issue.
Value for money.
- bojanav882 (8/5): Good choice for the price - We stayed at the Apsan business hotel for 4 + 1 nights in October. The price was very good, especially for the last night (we had smaller room).
First 4 nights we had really big room with a huge tub. Nice relaxation after a long day. Toilet has no door, which is rather unpleasant.
The room was comfortable and clean, although the bed was too hard for me. We asked (by shoving it) for another thich blanket and I put it under the sheet and it was OK. Rather dark, poor ligting and only one small window. No wardrobe, but lots of room amenities (computer, large screen TV, fridge, etc.). There is no breakfast, but you can have free coffee, toast, jam. Small grocery store is next door. The hotel’s staff is kind, but they don’t speak English – not a word.
- Rallor (10/5): A great place to stay. - I stayed at the Apsan Business hotel for a whole month and I must say that there are very few things I would change. I loved my room, the bed may be a little hard for most westerners (very firm mattresses are the norm in Korea) but I personally loved it. The staff at the hotel were more than patient with me and were happy to help me order food and even gave me the number to the nearest place to have my laundry done. The hotel is unassuming from the out side but the rooms are nice and come complete with shower, separate tub, two computers, a fridge, large flat screen tv, free wifi, and awesome AC. The location is very close to Camp Walker and the amusement park is just down the road. You will enjoy your stay here at the Apsan.
- RoyZ_12 (10/5): Good Price - I stayed at the Apsan business hotel 23-27 Feb 2014. The price was very good, the hotels staff was very good, the room was extremely comfortable. Lots of room amenities including a computer, large screen TV, great shower with huge separate tub, fridge, etc. the coffee shop on the 2d floor was closed for renovations, but there were plenty of restaurants close by. Small grocery store right across the street as well as a Kim-Bob house next door. Disregard fitness center rating - no fitness center available.
