- sherrytB7663FT (10/5): 1 Hotel Turned a Problem into the Best Service I’ve Ever Experienced - I took my teenage son to Toronto for a YungBlud concert and decided to make it special by booking two “luxury” hotels: one night at another high-end hotel, and the rest of the weekend at 1 Hotel (where I’ve stayed before). Both were in the $500–$700/night range. On paper, they looked the same. In reality, they were not. When we checked into our room at 1 Hotel, there was an issue: because a window had been left open before we arrived, the room had been invaded by what looked like tiny garden bugs or baby mosquitoes. Thousands of them. Not what you expect at this level. Not their fault. There is a huge garden outside the window and if the window if left open they will naturally flow towards the light and heat. What impressed me was not that something went wrong, but how they handled it. Immediate response: As soon as we mentioned the issue, they switched our room right away. No defensiveness, no excuses, just, “We’ll fix this now.” Above-and-beyond service: We realized later we’d left a bottle of champagne at the first hotel. That hotel told us to “just order an Uber” to get it. When I mentioned this to 1 Hotel, they personally contacted the other property, arranged for their concierge car to bring the bottle over, put it on ice, and delivered it to our room. Thoughtful apology: That night, we received a plate of fruit and strawberries with a handwritten note apologizing for the inconvenience. Financial gesture: At checkout, they had already removed the $50 valet fee from the bill without me asking. Follow-up after the stay: On the drive home, I received a personal email from the hotel manager, apologizing again and offering us an upgrade on our next stay. Two hotels called themselves “luxury.” Only one behaved like it when things went sideways. 1 Hotel turned a potential horror story into a masterclass in hospitality. They didn’t just fix a room; they restored trust and made us feel genuinely cared for. I will absolutely stay here again and recommend 1 Hotel Toronto to anyone who wants true 5-star service, not just 5-star pricing.

And when you’re trying to get into a fully booked restaurant, a great concierge can truly make your trip. That’s exactly what we experienced at 1 Hotel Toronto. Robin, a Les Clefs d’Or concierge, brings a beautiful balance of experience and refinement, able to secure hard-to-get reservations and just as thoughtfully guide you when something isn’t available. That kind of discernment really shapes the experience. What stayed with me just as much was the warmth across the team. Camila at the concierge desk was so kind, our kids loved chatting with her in the lobby, and she even sent us off with personalized coloring pages and apples from the farm stand for the ride home. Such a thoughtful touch. The valet and bell team were equally welcoming. C2 who drove us in the house car, suggested we visit the Distillery District on our way out-and it ended up being one of our favorite spots in the city. At breakfast, Hanan was especially accommodating when our kids were being a bit fussy and helped us order a wonderful meal with such ease. Shamar at the front desk was also incredibly warm, adding to the overall feeling of being well taken care of. Even simple moments-a cocktail at the lobby bar or breakfast-felt elevated because the conversations were so warm and genuine. It’s not just about service, it’s about how that service is felt.

Booking was simple, the entire property is immaculately presented, and carries a welcoming earthy vibe to it, the rooms were clean and vibey, perfectly located downtown - just overall so relaxing and classy! Robin, our concierge, and his team, were incredible in making special arrangements for us as we were celebrating the Mrs’ birthday. Highly recommend.

- emmarF7324JA (10/5): Thank you 1 Hotel Toronto! - From the moment we arrived at the 1 Hotel Toronto, the staff treated us like family. We (2 adults and 2 kids, 9 amd 13) stayed for 9 days which is a lengthy time in a city hotel. The double queen room was extremely comfortable and always immaculately presented. The staff would exchange cute little messages with our kids on the room's chalk board. They organised a little easter egg hunt in the room on Easter Sunday. We went to see the Maple Leafs hockey game one night and the next day we arrived home to a Maple Leaf helium balloon in the room! The sustainability programme is present throughout the hotel and gives it a warm, modern and earthy feel. We loved the Flora bar down stairs. It was so comfy to sit in in the morning with a coffee or a cocktail in the evening. There was always a buzz of people, it is clearly a hotel that many people enjoy for different purposes. There's a very exclusive rooftop bar which was lovely for a drink (no kids allowed so just tried it once!) and as a guest staying there was no impact, noise or otherwise, from the steady stream of exclusive guests to that bar. We want to make a special call-out to Robin, the hotel concierge, who attended to our every need before and during the trip. You know it's been exceptional treatment when the children comment on the attentiveness! Thank you Robin. And also the desk staff as well as Gilberto the bell man who helped with our luggage needs on our last day. The hotel location is excellent, we walked to the Rogers Centre and Scotiabank in 20mins. There are streetcar trams going in all directions nearby. Please try this hotel if you are in Toronto. You wont be disappointed 💚

He gave our daughter an apple upon arrival and greeted us with glasses of fresh water. He brought us to our room and was extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Jonah worked the front desk and was also extremely personable. Great at his job, making every guest feel catered to. He sent my husband up a bottle of prosecco when he found out it was his birthday. We received an upgraded room prior to our arrival because of a leak in our original room. Hotel is sustainable and tries to reduce waste wherever possible. Gorgeous, spacious rooms and stunning decor. Very comfortable beds and pillows.

Two days prior to check-in, I reached out to the hotel team to inquire about in-room amenities (flowers, chocolates, etc.) to surprise my wife for her birthday. Within just a few hours, I received a thoughtful response from Alicia, who not only shared a comprehensive list of available options, but also offered us a discounted upgrade to a stunning studio suite. The value alone was incredible, but she went even further, adding a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and offering to handwrite a personalized note on my behalf. From the moment we arrived, the service was immediate and genuine. The valet team welcomed us warmly, assisted with our luggage, and opened the doors into a breathtaking lobby. There, we were greeted by Robin, who instantly recognized my name, acknowledged my wife’s birthday, and discreetly mentioned the surprises waiting upstairs. He personally escorted us to check-in and introduced us to Jennie, who continued the warm, enthusiastic welcome. Even as my wife wandered into the beautiful Flora Lounge, Jennie shared in the excitement of the surprise awaiting her. I was amazed... every team member was not only aware, but genuinely invested. When we entered our suite, we were both in awe. Every detail was thoughtfully designed and impeccably executed. My wife's reaction to the roses, Prosecco, fruit and chocolate, and handwritten note made everything worth it. As we headed back down to explore the city, Robin and Jennie were eager to hear about her reaction. Their joy and excitement made the experience feel deeply personal. That level of care and intentionality continued throughout our entire stay. We had the pleasure of using the hotel’s car service, where Raheem and Jay offered fantastic recommendations around the city. Each time we returned, Kareem and the valet team were ready before we even reached the entrance, and Robin greeted us like we’d known each other for years, always asking about our day and evening plans. One evening, we dined at Casa Madera, where our server Wahid delivered an exceptional experience... knowledgeable, attentive, and thoughtful. He even surprised my wife with a birthday Tres Leches dessert. When the bill arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that Alicia had covered our first round of drinks. Later that evening, she stopped by to check in on us and also went out of her way to secure us a brunch reservation at 1 Kitchen the next morning. Her care and attentiveness went far beyond anything we’ve ever experienced. Brunch at 1 Kitchen was phenomenal, made even better by our wonderful server Hannah. And as we were leaving, Kareem once again stepped in to assist with our bags, ensuring a seamless and warm farewell. My wife and I have stayed at luxury resorts across the Maldives, Australia, Europe, and throughout the United States, but nothing compares to the experience we had here. From arrival to departure, we were treated with a level of care, presence, and genuine connection that is incredibly rare. This was our first time staying at a 1 Hotel property but if this is the standard, it certainly won’t be our last.

I called the hotel a day before our trip and requested an early check in & a room away from the lift. The hotel honoured our request and gave us a bigger room too. We used the valet service and had room service. Everything was great! The sound proofing around was great, we all slept well & our dog was not disturbed by outside noise. We highly recommend this hotel whether you’re travelling with your pet or not. Nothing

From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The ambiance is stunning, elegant, calming, and thoughtfully designed, creating a true sense of comfort and luxury. The cleanliness of the rooms and all common areas was impeccable, and the location is perfect for exploring the city. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding service. Gilberto went above and beyond to assist us with our room and transportation—his kindness and professionalism made a huge difference. At breakfast, Corey was equally wonderful very attentive, warm, and incredibly helpful. It’s rare to encounter such genuinely caring staff. We also had dinner one evening at Casa Madera, and it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious—one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, this hotel was a truly wonderful surprise and worth every penny. It made our time in Toronto unforgettable. The rooms are so clean and cozy that you immediately feel at home, yet still surrounded by luxury. I honestly cannot say enough about this fantastic hotel. Every member of the staff was super polite, welcoming, and eager to accommodate any request. We will definitely be coming back!

We began the evening with a private dining room dinner at Casa Madera for 28 of my closest friends. We chose the set menu and the food was incredibly delicious. Every dish was beautifully prepared and everything came out smoothly and efficiently. The servers at Casa Madera were absolutely amazing - attentive, warm, and incredibly professional. One of the highlights of the evening was when the chef came out to greet us personally, which added such a thoughtful touch to the experience. A special thank you to Yoanne and Fa, the managers at Casa Madera, who made sure everything ran perfectly. Their hospitality and attention to detail made the dinner feel seamless and truly special. What really stood out throughout the evening was how informed and accommodating the entire hotel team was. Everyone seemed to know we were celebrating my birthday and went out of their way to make the experience feel memorable. After dinner, we continued the celebration upstairs at Harriet’s Rooftop where we hosted a larger birthday party with about 275 guests. The space was absolutely perfect. The ambiance was beautiful, the sound system was incredible, and the bartenders were impressively fast and friendly all night despite the size of the crowd. Fatih, the manager at Harriet’s Rooftop, did an incredible job ensuring everything flowed smoothly. A huge thank you as well to Calum, the Head of Food and Beverage, who helped coordinate everything on site and curated an incredible dessert spread for the party that everyone absolutely loved. His leadership and attention to detail were felt throughout the entire evening. So many of my guests told me how amazing the night was. From the private dinner at Casa Madera to the celebration at Harriet’s Rooftop, everything ran seamlessly and the hospitality was outstanding. We truly felt taken care of all night. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at 1 Hotel for helping make my birthday celebration so special. I’m incredibly grateful for the care, professionalism, and attention to detail that went into every part of the evening.

They had homemade crayons with her name on them, custom coloring activities (including a Toronto Raptors mascot page with cats that she absolutely loved), and little surprises that made her light up. As a parent, those details mean everything. It wasn’t just luxury — it was heart. A very special thank you to Camila, who was our point person throughout the stay. She made sure every detail was perfect and handled everything with such professionalism, warmth, and care. We ate at all 3 restaurants, all were great. Samantha at Harriet’s was fantastic, she basically ordered for us and recommended cocktail pairings and was just lovely. Connor and Gabriel in main bar made us lots of delicious cocktails. If you are a cocktail person this is your hotel. Casa Madera was a very cool vibe and excellent food, drink and service from Sai. Front desk very helpful. Doormen JayJay and C2 also helpful and friendly. Room was clean and fun eco friendly decor. I would recommend to anyone staying in Toronto.

Check in was easy, and my requested add ons were awaiting us in the room upon arrival. We got the cocktail package, charcuterie board and fruit, everything was laid out beautifully. The room was clean and the ambience was minimalistic and well thought out. Their lotion smelled lovely, and we likely the thoughtful additions like housecoats and slippers provided for our use. We loved the real plants throughout the hotel and would love to come back again the next time we are needing a staycation ✨

Room was spacious and the products and finishes in the room were luxurious. Value was on par with what we were looking for. The hotel and restaurant had a high cleanliness level. Noise was quiet, we had a room that was by the man street so there was some noise but we are from NY so we are used to it. Service- We had room service and it was perfect. The restaurant also had great food, especially the Maple Granola! We didn’t use the amenities but we looked into the gym and it had all the equipment you could need. Also saw families using the hotel ice skating. We then had a shuttle to the airport by JayJay and he was so nice and helpful. We really had an all-around great experience.

Glasses bedside and drinkable tap water! The shower was to die for. Plants everywhere, even in my room! Swoon. I didn’t want to leave. Thank you for an incredible stay that was too short. JayJay helped me to the car, and the front desk staff (David, I think?) could not have been kinder! The concierge even got us a private room at Pai Thai (highly recommend!) on short notice!

The biophilic design is beautiful and calming throughout the public areas and guest rooms. While my corner room was small, it was well-appointed and featured high-quality finishes. The bathroom was particularly relaxing, offering one of the best hotel showers I have ever experienced. Additionally, the amenities, towels, and bedding were all of excellent quality. The customer service really stood out during this visit. All staff members were engaged and passionate, consistently going above and beyond. Aaron, the front desk manager, was particularly helpful and kind, anticipating my needs and ensuring my stay was as flawless as possible. Overall, my stay at the 1 Hotel Toronto was one of the best luxury experiences I have had in a while, even rivaling the Hazelton and Four Seasons.

The location is fantastic, even in subzero weather conditions you can walk to an assortment of trendy restaurants and shops. The rooms are delightful. Large, bright and comfortable with all the necessary amenities, but with an eye on the environment, which is deeply appreciated in the hotel space. The bed was fantastic and all the nice extra touches - sweatshirt slippers, hooded robes, tea, throws and extra pillows- were appreciated. But what made it truly enjoyable was the attentive friendly staff from the Bellman to the concierge to the fabulous bartenders and waitstaff. They do a great job hiring their staff who all seem comfortable and friendly with one another as well. They were a true joy to interact with. Overall, I’d say it was a perfect 10 stay. Congratulations to not only having a beautiful, luxurious space, but an amazing group of employees who seemed genuinely happy to be there. No doubt I’ll be staying here again on my next visit.

And location was great. No way to properly park in front of the hotel, valet service was missing anyone when we arrived. No concierge to help with our bags when we first arrived. We had to bring the bags and stroller in ourselves. The amenities shouldve been better explained when we arrived. For the price, it didn't feel like a 5 star experience. Probably around 3-4 star.

They were also extremely friendly and welcoming, it was a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere was incredible, mood lighting, staff and decorations were divine. One problem was the actual room itself, the windows condensation would gather overnight into puddles on the floor which caused my bag to get wet. Other than that, the room and room service/cleaning was lovely.

We didn't know what to expect from out first stay , and I need to mention that although I am a Hilton Honours Gold and Marriott Gold Elite member, the hospitality and the attention to detail really stood out to me. Breakfast at 1 Kitchen was amazing, drinks at the Flora lounge carefully prepared and the NYE celebration at the Harriet's Rooftop memorable. - bilalsC8311TM (10/5): Best People, Great Experience, Definitely the Place to Stay - I stayed at 1 Hotel Toronto during my trip to Toronto for the International Bar Association's Annual Meeting. It was a very nice hotel with an extraordinarily helpful and friendly staff. The location was excellent - seemed close to all the places in the downtown area; the rooms were modern and well-maintained; the hotel, including the rooms and interior space, were clean. No problems with noise, even with an active restaurant and separate lounge area on the first floor. Food at the restaurant (Casa Madera) was exceptionally good, and the food at the breakfast and lunch cafe (1 Kitchen Restaurant) was also very good. Interesting offerings at the Flora Lounge too. Nice restaurant (Harriet's) on the rooftop too. For my stay it was rented out for events each evening but I was lucky enough to attend some of them and the food and atmosphere at the top was very nice - very nice place to get a view of the city, especially at night. When I return to Toronto I will stay here. I will call out a few people by (first) name: first, Jennie, who was working the front desk for each day I was there, was great. Very attentive to making sure guests of the hotel were well-taken care of. Excellent representative for the hotel. Cannot think of a more attentive and pleasant person at any hotel I have stayed at. Second, Jay, who managed Casa Madera; she was always present on the floor, making sure things went smoothly, and also attentive to the guests experience without being disruptive to the meal. I saw her pitch in to get things done, too, during the busy times. Third, the hotel arranged a driver for me and others traveling with me; Suli was an exceptionally accommodating driver, always nearby and ready to get us from one meeting to the other, always in a good mood, attentive to our time constraints -- we were on a tight schedule and Suli got us where we needed to be, on time, without fail. Wonderful driver. Very clean car, well maintained and a safe driver. Any time I am in Toronto for meetings, I will request him. Excellent service. Finally, the hotel's concierge, Robin, was a wonderful presence when you walk in the doors of the hotel and especially attentive to all our out-of-hotel needs and very knowledgable about the city and places to go, things to see, in the city. Very attention to guests needs. So, all around an exceptional experience.

The hotel itself is stunning and in an ideal location in terms of access to restaurants, the sites and downtown. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, with a special call out to Robin the Concierge and David at the front desk. When we come back to Toronto next time, there's only 1 place that we'll stay.

- laruepetsitter (10/5): Wonderful Stay - I booked one night through the Amex travel portal. I received communications from hotel a day later and they were wonderful with prompt responses. Our trip into Toronto was horrible as traffic added and extra hour in arriving at hotel. I found parking on Spot Hero next to hotel for $12 instead of using $65 valet from hotel. Check in was so pleasant and easy which made us forget about the ride in. I booked a basic king room and was upgraded to the terrace. The terrace is nice and large but it was pouring rain outside so we did not use it. The room was nice, spacious and clean. They left cookies and chocolate bark out for us which was a nice touch. JJ drove us to the Distillery District and was very sweet. The service however drops you off but does not pick you up so we used Uber to return to hotel. The staff arranged our dinner and breakfast reservations for us. The staff at this hotel are wonderful all around. If we return to Toronto I would definitely return to this hotel.

As a person with celiac disease, it’s important to find a hotel where we can feel safe in ordering room service and eat on the premises. The food here was not just safe, but also delicious. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I had the best omelette in my life for room service one morning. We stayed almost a week, ate here daily, and I never reacted (I’m quite sensitive). Shout-out to Camilla for her knowledge and pleasant words each day when delivering room service. She’s a gem! A few notes for those considering staying here: - “panoramic rooms” aren’t as one might hope because almost all the windows are covered with a screen and/or tightly-secured curtains. - bring your own toilet paper if you care about such things. Theirs is so thin that you need to loop it several times. I thought it might be recycled but the packaging is just for the lowest-level Scott’s brand. - the room was immaculately cleaned and the air quality was far beyond that of other hotels I’ve stayed at. I love the scent and found myself missing it after we left. If you like it too, consider buying their products there because it’s expensive to have them shipped afterwards.

Jay Jay who offered me local transport was delightful. There were two female servers in the lobby lounge bar who were superlative - engaging, knowledgeable and who understand excellent service. These two ladies made the night a memorable experience for me and my friends while lounging in the lobby bar. Casa Madera also was wonderful. The hospitality experience is all encompassing.
