• Eugenio (6/5): No frills, but good value for money. - The hostel met expectations and offers good value for money, especially compared to what else you can find in London. Quite clean. It's not the most convenient location for exploring central London, as the tube stations are all a bit far, but it's well-served by buses. There are way too few bathrooms, and in the morning it’s a real struggle to find a free one. The pub advertises great burgers and full English breakfasts, but none of it was available—in fact, the bar was completely closed at breakfast time.

• Abigail Akosua (5/5): Thanks for the bed but It can be better. - Excellent location making the purpose for choosing there a great pick. The bar area/common area was good. Other people in the room were matured. Fair price and was good that they didn’t charge too much. The room for 9 people wasn’t the best though clean in there. It wasn’t big and so in my opinion was really small for 9 people. The bathrooms and toilets can be better. It wasn’t pleasant and for someone scared of picking infection, it was uncomfortable. It wasn’t the best. Great location but honestly, I will look for a better option next time if things are the same. I was okay, managed but not comfortable especially with the utility areas. It was my first experience sleeping in a hostel so maybe it’s just me who felt this way. Also in as much as courtesy should come to an adult easily, I believe they should give out some sort of rules for being in the room with others if they don’t already have it. A lady sleeping on the top bed kept shaking the bed (don’t know if she was aware of that), her phone was noisy as well. We can respect each other by not making noise with our calls. Nonetheless I got somewhere to sleep for that price so fair enough.

Hard to reach corners are really dusty; bordering benign neglect. I'd suggest an annual full property professional deep clean and repainting which can then be maintained between the annual works.

• Ray (10/5): ITS NOT CALLED THE CROWN FOR NOTHING 👑👑👑 - What I liked most about this hostel was the warm and welcoming atmosphere from all the staff. When I first arrived, I was checked in by the manager, Watson. There was a mix-up with my booking due to a third-party issue (not the hostel’s fault), but he resolved it quickly on the same day. After that, everything went smoothly. I really appreciated that the bar is open 24/7, giving guests a place to relax and unwind at any time. Even if you’re not a pub person, don’t worry, it has a very friendly and relaxed vibe that doesn’t feel like a typical pub. The place attracts a mix of locals and travellers, and there are always interesting people to talk to if you want to learn more about the area. What truly makes this pub/hostel stand out is the staff. The cleaners are incredibly helpful and happy to provide fresh bedsheets whenever needed, even though they already keep the rooms very clean, tidy, and smelling fresh. Thanks to them, I had clean bed linen throughout my stay. One of the cleaners from Brazil was especially kind, even though she spoke only a little English, we still managed to have a lovely conversation. The night staff are also excellent—always ready to help and provide great service whenever needed. Overall, I had a fantastic stay. Thank you to the entire PubLove team for a wonderful experience. This is one of the best pub hostels I’ve stayed in, and I really hope places like this continue to stay open, they’re truly valuable. The stairs 🤫 haha… but even that has its good side, it definitely keeps you fit and gets you breathing!

• Kaja (4/5): - No own food on “the crown” be honest It's ridiculous because it violates the basic idea of ​​hostels – maximum comfort through economical solutions. Also There's no room to socialize outside of the crowded rooms / because of pub downstairs?/ and the stairs to the rooms are very uncomfortable – high, narrow, and dangerous (with luggage). The worst part, however, are the toilets – there aren't enough of them, two are out of use/ and the rest aren't cleaned at all! – they violate basic hygiene standards. With the number and turnover of guests, this is a serious threat, so the affordable price doesn't justify this disregard for the rules. Never more.
