Guest Reviews
- Michaela (10/5): Fantastic comfy stay! - Tranquil, well presented, comfortable and in a great location for the things Yarra Valley has to offer.
- patricia (8/5): - Well appointed, had everything we needed. Very comfortable and peaceful. The location was perfect for our needs Nothing
- Emad (10/5): Fortunately, this behavior takes nothing away from the charm and quality of it. I highly recommend. - I had an absolutely perfect weekend, exactly what I needed to rest and disconnect. The accommodation easily deserves its 5 stars: everything was impeccable, from the cleanliness to the amenities, and the check-in process was very smooth. The location is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by nature—a true delight. The only small word of caution for future travelers: be very careful not to take the wrong entrance! The two farms are side-by-side, and I unfortunately parked my car at the neighbor's by mistake. I was greeted very aggressively by this woman; a disproportionate reaction that gives the unpleasant impression that she is resentful of the success and activity of the neighboring rental. It was a regrettable welcome after a two-hour drive, but it seems to stem more from her own bitterness.
- Horrie (9/5): Apart from comments above, would highly recommend - We liked the easy access and clean & comfortable cottage. Warm and inviting, very quiet. Would recommend and stay again. Some appreciated added touches would be: paper towel to mop up spills, a box of tissues, chux (difficult to clean up bench & stove with cleaning sponge). Small improvements to make the stay a 10
- Rosa (10/5): Fabulous peaceful weekend retreat. - Location, amenities, peaceful quiet retreat. Nothing, we had a fabulous time.
- Julie (9/5): - All the facilities you could need for a few days stay
- Joan (10/5): -
- Megan (8/5): Cute cottage getaway - Loved the secluded cottage vibe very cozy.
The cats in the morning were a cute addition sitting outside having breakfast and the goats and alpacas too. Great facilities. Very simple very clean. my friend and I loved how warm the cottage was especially with the additional heated blankets was a very good addition. despite there were other buildings on the property, we felt like there was privacy and it was very quiet and relaxing. The only thing I would say that I didn’t like about the property, would be finding the actual cottage on arrival as there were a lot of cars and other buildings blocking the view of where you’re actually staying. It was a bit confusing. But a quick call to the owner told us to walk around and we found the entry. Maybe a big sign with an arrow saying cottage stay around the corner would be helpful.
- brendan (7/5): was good - not locked
- Cynthia (8/5): - Amazing location, beautiful and peaceful.
- Maria (7/5): -
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Benjamin (9/5): Superb -
- Trent (10/5): A very simple, spacious and comfortable stay. - This was a very comfortable stay and great value. The host was quite clear and helpful in regards to gaining access to the property. The location is a little bit out from the main experiences we did around Yarra Valley, however was a perfect spot for the meeting point of our sunrise balloon flight with Picture This. The accommodation was very spacious, as it was basically a standalone granny flat. Very comfortable bed and good hot water in the shower. Plenty of standard kitchen amenities for preparing food and a full size fridge. The washing machine would have also be very handy on a longer trip however we did not need it during our stay. There were even a couple of friendly farm animals on the property which added an nice character to the place. Only a very minor point but the bars of soap provided were a bit average so possibly would just recommend bringing your own body wash for showering.
- Jewel (10/5): Thanks was great - Beautiful place loved the cats
- Ross (10/5): Magic spot on the Edge of the Yarra Valley!!! - Great accommodation on the edge of the Yarra Valley. Clean, well equipped, quiet, peaceful. Great value for money. Loved it all

- Ngoc (9/5): Superb -
- Sharma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (8/5): Comfortable stay - Very spacious. Comfy bed. Loved having a washer and dryer and being able to see kangaroos in the back field. The coffee maker didn't work but the kitchen was well equipped.
A bit dated. Wifi was very weak.
- Susan (10/5): Relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. - Very peaceful and quiet location. Relaxing.
- Matthew (10/5): - Welcoming, friendly hosts. Really spacious and comfortable. Great bed. Great, non miserly shower. Large fridge and tv, laundry facilities, outdoor area with a great view of rural surroundings, interesting garden and menagerie of animals. Quiet area. Amazingly good value.
- Crystal (7/5): Nice getaway in nature - Nice and comfortable place. Well equipped. Nice place to relax in nature with lots of cute animals around the property.
- Danni (8/5): Cosy, quiet get away - Quiet location and cleanliness Internet connection and access to villa. A car had blocked the path to drive to the car park located closest to the villa. I walked around the front house to get to the villa at night and tripped in the dark trying to find the path.
- Buccilli (9/5): Superb -
- Claire (8/5): Very good - Gorgeous quiet location. View out to the garden from the deck was really and we walked down to the walking trail along the Yarra both mornings which was really nice. Linen etc professionally cleaned and bed was comfortable. Kitchen had proper amenities.

- Amanda (9/5): Loved our stay here! Perfect place for some R & R we’ll within budget. Had everything we needed. Thankyou for a love - loved the coziness of the cabin, was very quiet and comfortable 😊
- Mikos12 (9/5): Homely, warm and cosy cabin in the lush and rolling hills of Wonga Park! - It was a very homely and pleasant experience! Brett was awaiting my arrival, which was an hour earlier than my original ETA. He was very accommodating on arrival, and his whole family on the property were lovely. Gorgeous property with a historic winery only a short walk away. The cabin had absolutely everything in it that you could imagine, and each of the rooms all had plenty of space!! Honestly nothing... It was exactly what the accommodation suggested it would be, and the informal personal service and hospitality was very much appreciated! I'm literally eating the freshly picked figs that were left for me, as I'm typing this review!! haha
- Werner (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanessa (7/5): Great location with very accommodating, friendly hosts 🙂 - Location was great. Host were very friendly Towels very small. Some fly screens broken allowing insects in. No second TV as advertised
- Ken (9/5): Excellent. They even drove us to Kellybrook Winery where we had a booking for lunch and tasting. - Everything was fine. Nothing.
- Glenda (8/5): Very good -
- Alon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful location, well maintained and very comfortable I think the signage on the property could be better
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - My wife organised this property in hopes for a country getaway that was private and accomodating for pets to welcome the new year.
It is not pet friendly as advertised. However, Brett was happy to allow our pup to stay for 2 nights and our other friends and pup to stay the last night to welcome 2023.
Privacy is next to nil.
You are housed between two unpleasantly close family homes.
We were very appalled by the older mature woman who banged our door down after 1.30am NEW YEARS DAY to tell us we are SPEAKING too loudly inside the house. She proceeded to tell us its time to “pack it in”, to make sure we clean everything up and questioned us about our dogs and entire arrangements. This was all declared in a very rude and obnoxious way. My wife had already made these arrangements!!
She also made it very clear that she was the property owner. Just out of order behaviour towards paying customers.
We were made to feel incompetent and unwelcome by her.
For the small amount of time we did spend at the property, as we were out and about all day, watching the roos hop along the fields for a good minute was lovely.
Id suggest to make signage to direct customers around the property as we had no idea how to get to the lake or if we were allowed to enter anywhere
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Piyanuch (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vezdeviktor (10/5): Exceptional - We had an amazing time at the Australian Home Away property. The place was very clean and we loved the Christmas decorations. Location was great ! we loved hiking by the Yarra river .
Thank you for having us))) nothing , all good
- Joshua (8/5): - We adored the two cat welcoming committee when we arrived.
The stay was peaceful and relaxing.
- Jessica (8/5): Very good -
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - We liked everything about it..tranquillity, animals...was just amazing
- Jody (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raelene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (8/5): Very good - Great hosts and superb facilities and location
- Leigh-renee (10/5): tranquil and relaxing - animals were beautiful but weren’t in your space (could explore if you wanted), people were lovely, a mini house at an exceptional value for money. there isn’t an oven but has an air fryer and laundry facilities. TV has Netflix and electric blanket was a beautiful addition nothing - was amazing
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - The location: peaceful, beautiful but not far from some shops and cafes.
- Jeannette (9/5): Superb -
- Esther (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): Top spot - great place to stay, will be back again, thank you very much
- Leanne (10/5): - Lovely cottage in country surrounds
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What an absolute little gem!! Tranquil setting and a comfortable abode, ensures relaxation is the highest priority. Recharge the batteries and let the stresses of the world just drift away. A quiet wine on the verandah overlooking the plethora of wildlife and listening to the amazing array of birds in the area.
- Ian (10/5): Home Comforts Close To Yarra Valley Wineries - Lovely self contained unit at rear of property with friendly family hosts available to give as much, or as little, help required. Kangaroos and other native animals viewable from property. Yarra River walking distance away. Close drive to eateries, beautiful town of Warrandyte and Yarra Valley wineries, breweries and food producers.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wanted a quiet Hideaway and that's what I received.
- Chad (10/5): - My stay at Australian Home Away-Wonga Park was excellent! The area is nice and quiet and peaceful, and only a short drive to the CBD. The accommodation was spacious, fully furnished, and came complete with all the kitchen and bathroom utensils that we needed.
Definitely coming back here!
- Jennifer (8/5): Wonga Park Stay - Peaceful semi rural environment which is what we look for rather than bells and whistles..
Basic but comfortable with all the amenities for our needs
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, tidy and a great spot for a weekend getaway
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Sandra was very friendly and welcoming Dwelling was quiet, clean , tidy and comfortable .
Bedroom was spacious but found the light switches on the wall near the bed were difficult to find and reach in the dark. Suggest a small lamp on bedside table would be easier to access.
Could not use the toaster as began smoking much too much than Toasters in general . We turned it off immediately while Needs to be checked for Safety reasons
Main concern ; Check In advertised between 2:00 & 10:00 pm but one week before check in then informed Check in between 3:00 - 10 :00 pm . Although owners were obliging to 2:00 pm Check in , it is felt we should not have had to request it. Advertised Policies and Detail must be able to be trusted .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very comfortable ...clean very comfy bed and everything you need for our short stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful country property with peace and quiet, fresh air, birds chirping, horses, ponies and farm animals. For serenity and respite, this has to be of the nicest places
- Verified traveler (10/5): Peaceful, semi rural retreat - Located in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, this property comes with the peace and aspect of being on a farm surrounded in bushland. Yet only a short commute to the Yarra Valley and Healesville, eastern suburbs of Melbourne and if wanting Melbourne City a short connect to East Link. We loved it.
We were visiting family in the Croydon, Chirnside Park, Mitcham areas, its location was so accessible while providing a wonderful retreat for us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely quiet cottage in a semi rural location - Brett and Pu are beautiful hosts!! The cottage was beautifully appointed and had everything to make the stay comfortable.
Being Dog friendly was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble.
Thoroughly recommend this property to anyone - Will come again!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Escape to the country - Spacious, lovely views and well equipped, but limited privacy, issues with maintenance, and no internet supplied.
- Verified traveler (10/5): As the brochure stats Home Away from Home - As we are and elderly couple we found the area very pleasant.
