Location within walking distance to cafe’s, pier and beach. Bicycle and walking pathway along the Esplanade.

Its excellent location across from the esplanade was convenient and the property owner was very accommodating for our late check-in time. The unit could use a more thorough cleaning but I'd still consider staying there again. The price was also exceptional compared to others in the area.

Had everything we needed for a family of 3 for a short stay. Only improvement would have been better lighting in the bathroom as it was quite dark. The owner was lovely and gave us a tour of Hervey Bay places of interest and restaurant suggestions on arrival. Will definitely stay again.

- Peter (8/5): Quirky but very well appointed and comfortable. - We were greeted by the owner, who was driving a vintage car. This set the tone for the accommodation which was one of several very tastefully furnished suites of rooms in an old 2-storey, beachfront, colonial-style building. The owner also provided things such as bikes and kayaks for guest use - not in great condition, but we used both. The 4x4 tour of Fraser Island was tremendous and we saw a group of 6 large eagle rays when we walked to the end of the pier. There are a few decent restaurants within walking distance of Beachside Barracks, but you need a car to get to some of the better 'eateries'.

- Natalie (10/5): Great location opposite water - Fantastic stay with an excellent host. Jayesh met us on arrival and could not have been more welcoming. Excellent selection of bikes, kayaks etc for the kids to use. Highly recommend.
- LMT (6/5): Nice and close to the beach. - The room was not practical for 6 people. The dining table only seated 4. The noise from the apartment above was absolutely terrible. No soundproofing whatsoever. Woken up early every morning we were there. No privacy at all. The staff also smoking outside our room was not nice. Good for close proximity to the beach. The use of the bikes was a nice touch.

One thing, don't forget you bring your own soap as soap for the shower is not supplied here. We had to go and buy some. The use of the bikes and kayaks was fantastic as the hotel is just across the road from the beach. Overall we enjoyed our stay greatly.

- Daniel (8/5): Lovely stay - Very comfortable. Was great to have use of the surf skies but very hard to get them to the beach. As both trolleys had nuematic wheels that were flat. Hose connections were broken which made it harder to clean them on return. The only shower available for four people kept filling up as drain waste was blocked. So shower could only be on for a few minutes before overflowing onto main floor. Inside button for electric car would be helpful on checkout as keys have to be left in room. Cheers Danny

- Kara (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - We absolutely loved our stay in Hervey Bay. The property is right on the Esplanade which is a shared hiking and biking path. It would be great to stay with kids here as they have bikes for use and kayaks, and there are lots of playgrounds along the Esplanade. We had a nice meal in the area and really enjoyed having a nice kitchen to cook meals with as well. It was so awesome to be right across the street from the beach and we spent a lot of time outside. We had a lot of room to stretch out in and the wifi was the best we had in all of the places that we stayed in Australia. Everything was so comfy in the room and we hope to come back someday and stay longer!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Last minute luck - Booked last minute as we drive into Hervey Bay after a big day on the Rd. Such a surprise to grab a comfortable clean place in prime beach location without having to spend a fortune. Often hard to find a place for a family of 5. Highly recommended.

The host was extremely helpful and the availability of free bikes and kayaks would make it a great base for a longer stay. Something we were unable to do. If I was coming back to Hervey Bay I would definately book and stay here.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Apartment 6 - We were able to check in a little early which was great. The layout is unusual with a veranda/corridor running along the side of the building so you walk along this to get from your bedroom to either the bathroom or living room/kitchen. The shower was great, although with 4 adults it would have been nice to have a separate toilet. We enjoyed the air con and the fans. The deck at the front was great to sit out on and eat a meal or watch the world go by. There are enough pots and pans to allow you to cook if you like. We made good use of the free sea kayaks in the lovely warm and calm sea. There are loads of bikes in all sizes however most of them are not in great repair, although we did manage to cycle to the pier and back. If the other apartments are noisy then unfortunately you do hear them. There were plenty of washing machines and the washing dried in just a few hours in the warm breeze. This is a great location and 3 bedrooms for us was ideal.

We just love the building which is cleverly decorate with tasteful furnishings. We can't wait to go back, only next time we'll stay longer.
- Darren (10/5): Family friendly unique experience - We appreciated the refurbished layout of the Apartment - very tasteful and also unique. Our kids thought it was a 'masterpiece'. We also appreciated the 'little' extras that made our stay more enjoyable - we enjoyed a bike ride along the pier using the bikes that were provided for guests. I was even able to hook up a toddler carriage for my young daughter. All provided and easily accessible. If we had stayed longer, we might have made use of the kayaks.

Showers are great The place needs better sound proofing we were in room 1 one the lower floor. Above us were a family with kids. As the children ran across the floor, it sounded like a herd of wilderbeasts. We got woken up at 6am. Not ideal. Could be great with some sound proofing.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Gorgeous apartment right by the beach - Stayed here for a couple of nights for a trip to Fraser Island. Lovely setup, secluded and quiet self-catering just by the beach in Urangan. We barely scratched the surface as we weren't here long enough, but the accommodation was stunning and excellent value. Would suit a family just perfect IMHO.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Excellent for a group or family ..... - A very interesting experience - I was met when I first arrived and had no contact with anyone thereafter! When I was leaving I didn't know what to do with keys - after leaving a voice message I received a call back several hours later - it's a very safe area so not to worry about leaving keys or doors unlocked - for a Sydneysider this was amazing. The "hotel" is well furnished and situated - living area at one end and bathroom at other with four bedrooms in between - so it would be excellent for a group or family. It was very comfortable and I enjoyed a brief break in wonderful Hervey Bay right after the cyclone, which had by-passed the Esplanade area.

Host is very accommodation and the staff are friendly. We went fishing across the road off the small pier and later off the larger one which is an easy bike ride. Bikes, paddles, fishing gear is all supplied free of charge. We were a little away from places to eat but it was nice and quiet. The huge deck upstairs was lovely, underneath the palm trees. We spent a lot of time out there. Kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need.
- ColJette (10/5): Birthday mini-break - We spent two nights in the upstairs Apartment 4 and loved our stay. The decor shows the care and attention the owners have put into this property. It is relaxing and welcoming, the theme reminded us of Raffles Hotel. The kitchen is well-equipped and has modern appliances, with beautiful 200-year-old, carved timber furniture adding to the charm. Our bed was very comfy and there are ceiling fans throughout as well as aircon. We spent quite a lot of time on the huge deck which faces the sea, watching the native birds in the trees across the road on the foreshore. There is a laundry with free washers and dryers, and equipment such as push bikes, kayaks, canoes, fishing gear, etc, all free for guests to use. Barbeques and a pizza oven are also available, the pedestrian gate has PIN code security and a remote control secures the electric driveway gate with ample car parking available at the rear of the building. The owner/manager, Jayesh, can recommend local eateries and activities, and we got the impression that nothing would be too much trouble. He has some lovely vintage cars, one of which he uses as his runabout. We felt privileged to be given a ride in this one as a birthday surprise for my husband. Overall, we loved 535 and will return, highly recommended!
