• Peter (10/5): Kann ich nur empfehlen. Ein wirklich schöner Aufenthalt - Das Frühstück war sehr gut und die Eierspeisen wurden nach Wunsch frisch zubereitet. Das Zimmer war geräumig und hatte einen Blick auf Hafen und Ozean. Die Lage der Lodge war direkt fußläufig zum Hafen und in einer ruhigen Gegend. Danke Dave für deine guten Tipps zur Weiterfahrt und zu den Restaurants in der Nähe. Liebe Grüße aus Düsseldorf vom Peter Es kann bei intensiver Sonneneinstrahlung Tagsüber sehr warm werden.

• SANDRA (9/5): Très agréable séjour dans petit village endormi en bord de mer - Très agréable étape sur notre voyage. Nous avons passé un excellent moment de repos au bord de la piscine avec le bruit des mouettes et des vagues. L’accueil est excellent et le petit déjeuner était délicieux. Superbe promenade en bord de mer à faire au coucher de soleil. Le propriétaire des lieux nous a conseillé un excellent restaurant dans le village. Tout était parfait !
• Christian (8/5): Dave ist ein großartiger Gastgeber mit Herz, Humor und tollen Tipps – ein gemütlicher Ort mit Flair direkt am Meer! Dav - Dave ist ein toller Gastgeber. Er hat sich sehr gut um uns gekümmert. Auch wenn wir nur eine Nacht dort verbracht haben, hat er sich gleich um eine Reservierung in einem guten fußläufig erreichbaren Restaurant gekümmert, einen Platz für einen Sundowner empfohlen und und und. Die Lage direkt am Ocean ist phantastisch und die Gegend ist sauber und sicher. Sie Unterkunft ist sauber, gemütlich mit sehr liebem Personal. Es ist keine 5* Hochglanz polierte Luxusherberge, aber ein Platz mit Flair und Herzlichkeit. Ganz in der Nähe (3-5km) ist die, aus dem deutschen Fernsehen bekannte, Lodge Grootbos auf der „Sing mein Song - das Tauschkonzert“ aufgezeichnet wird. Auch hierzu hat Dave einige schöne Geschichten zu erzählen - ein Plausch mit ihm macht Freude.

Playfull dog and beautiful cat. very personable staff, namely Agnus as head of house, and Dave the owner is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Only the couch in the room we had booked needs some repairs and maintenance.

The lodge is cozy, well-maintained, and has a peaceful atmosphere. The hosts were welcoming and provided excellent local recommendations. A perfect spot for anyone visiting Gansbaai—highly recommended!

• David (9/5): Great spot in Gansbaai - Saxon Lodge is nicely located above the Gansbaai harbour and has beautiful views. Accommodation and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Caron and Dave are superb hosts - they had good recommendations during our stay. Although for the energetic one could walk from the lodge, most attractions we found were a car ride away.

Lots of mosquitos, we bought Raid for the 2nd night, the bathroom ceiling was mouldy , needed a good clean.

Very friendly owners who made us very welcome. The Blue Goose restaurant 10 mins walk away is a must for dinner if you stay here.

• Christina (6/5): Pleasant - Great hosts, wonderful staff, very comfortable bed with crisp linen, good breakfast, enough easy-to-reach sockets for all my electronic gadgets. I rely on walking aids and I made sure, by phone, that I was booking a room on the ground floor with 'separate entrance and parking right outside'. It turned out my room was upstairs. The lodge is in a cul-de-sac with ample (unattended) parking outside. There is no parking 'in the courtyard', but the hosts were kind enough to let me have one of their private spaces in front of the entrance door. Also, I would have liked a fridge in the room. A bar fridge seems to be pretty standard in accommodation facilities 3 stars and up.

The owners in particular were always very friendly and genuinely interested in us. We felt at home right from the start. All our questions were answered at all times. We were given an upgrade due to minor building work on our room. The location of the accommodation is perfect and the view of the harbor is magnificent. Thank you! We would stay here again at any time.

• Marcel (7/5): Good - was spacious but as we arrived late and had to leave early bot much to say here as we were sitting in the dark after 10 pm. i regretted that we did not stay in Hermanus, as Gaansbai appeared to be « dead » we came late due to a long traffic jam at Kleinmond and had to leave early for a marine big 5 tour (not recommendable). we received a phone call to hurry as the reception closes and therfore could not go for dinner around dinner time in Hermanus as we wished. this was pretty annoying just to drive to the place for the check in and then not finding a place in Gaansbai where we could get a warm meal (the recommendation of the recptionist, a pub in the harbour dis not serve food anymore). Electricity was off from 10 am
