Guest Reviews
- Donald (8/5): - It's my go to place for quality and value.breakfast is great, the employees are very nice.
- Jerry (8/5): - Was very nice had two pools, was awesome watching the tide n the bay high tide to low tide in the afternoon a big beach, the grounds were very well maintained, staff seemed friendly !!
- David (8/5): - Lived it there
- David (8/5): - Probably the best place to stay on the island. Very affordable, with a great Santiago Bay view.
We stayed 5 days and would definitely go back. Even at low tide the beach is awesome. Nice morning walks on the sand, and great afternoon swims when the tide comes in.
Great restaurants near the hotel, plus the hotel serves great food.
Staff is the best.
- Curious06136245373 (10/5): Great moment for relax - Very fantastic place , relaxing and very good restaurant with beautifull view on the sea ,๐คฉ direct access on the sea for swimming from the hรดtel , and nice animated place just next music dance karaokรฉ and bars ,one of the most animated place in camotes
- Lowell (10/5): - Staff were very nice . The resort is one of the best i stayed at
- cccc303030 (6/5): Relaxing Stay at Santiago Bay Garden & Resort - We enjoyed our stay at Santiago Bay Garden & Resort! The atmosphere was relaxing, and the views of the ocean were absolutely beautiful. The pool area and gardens were well-maintained, making it a great spot to unwind.
The rooms were decent. I'd rate them around 3.8/5 but everything else about the resort made up for it. The staff was friendly, the location was perfect, and the overall experience was enjoyable. Definitely a good place to stay when visiting Camotes Island!
- IAN (10/5): - Soo relaxing
- Pavel (10/5): - Excellent service nice clean
- Jรถrg (10/5): - The hotel complex is built on a slope, offering a beautiful view of the bay of Santiago. Unfortunately, the complex itself is quite old and somewhat dilapidated, with parts of the garden being closed off. The restaurant offers very good food at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the beach is overcrowded with plastic and trash.
- Pi_Beach (6/5): Had a pleasant stay as a base to explore the island; place has potentials - Place is right on the Santiago Bay. Our room (Ocean View) was clean; bed was comfortable enough; AC was working; TV was working (but didn't have time to watch); wifi was working in our room; staff were friendly and responsive, in-house restaurant served decent meals, had a great view of the bay and accepts credit card payment --- I wish they had more menu selection for light snacks cuz' sometimes I just want to have coffee and some pastries and enjoy the view of the bay; pool was clean and water was warm.
The resort ask for 50% payment upfront to get reservation --- and they don't accept credit card for that. They only take credit card payment for the balance once you arrived. The place is a bit far from Consuelo port. No shuttle from the port; we hired a tricycle to take us there. No bell service or luggage carts when you arrive -- so travel light, you may have to climb some stairs. You communicate with the front desk via text, or calling a local number --- so make sure your phone can communicate with the their local phones. Pool pictures in this TripAdvisor page shows a rectangular lap pool -- no such thing; it's more like a semi-oval recreational pool. Santiago Bay is very shallow; on low tide, you have to walk a bit far from the shore to swim --- enjoy watching those tiny crab like creatures (-don't know their name) crawling in the sand on low tide. The resort shows deferred maintenance all over.
I used this place as base to explore Camotes. And as I stated in the title, the place has potentials.
- Sally (10/5): - Very satisfied, facility is clean, safe and quiet. Staff are very friendly and kind. Highly recommended.
- johnsJ7651KB (10/5): Fun, fabulous and a must return to! - Had a great time at Santiago Bay Garden and Resort. Loved how they have updated the rooms and new bathroomsโฆthey are looking new and contemporary and made our stay so much better. The restaurant continues to serve yummy food and treats. All of the staff have been so nice and friendly and accommodating. Amazing overall. Room fees are very affordable and seniors get a discount tooโฆTHANKS to all Santiago people who helped to make our stay so memorable!!
- John (10/5): - Nice place
- John (10/5): - Nice place
- Rosa (10/5): - The resort was amazing, the staff were nice.
- John (10/5): - The view,
- glenahm (10/5): The Best Hotel in the place - Yes, when I typed in, the pillows are fluffiest. Very nice room, very comfortable and clean, and wow hot shower the best. Oceanview the best. I really love to be back again and stay in their hotel. How I wish I could in that place. Thank you for accommodating us!
- Charmaine (10/5): - Weโve been here a couple of times and with the price, you get an ocean view by the balcony and smell the fresh ocean breeze! I highly recommend this place!
- vanessajasmineg (10/5): ACCOMMODATING STAFF - The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Asked to change rooms even after using the previous one and they were so considerate. Also asked for other favors and they were so responsive. Overall a pleasant stay :) Will definitely come back.
- andrzej (10/5): - Very nice quiet place with beautiful views from the pools and dining areas . Also walkable to the nearby Santiago beach . Iโm definitely coming back soon and staying longer . Recommend to everyone .
- RICHARD (2/5): - We had 5 crabs crawing up from the drain in the shower, and multiple coach roaches in the room daily, would not recommend family room #3 for sure, also there are spiders hanging down from the bathroom ceiling.
- Agot76 (8/5): Beautiful resort - Beautiful resort and the view is spectacular! Took a lot of photos but it didn't do justice on how beautiful the place is. The only thing I regretted was I wish we stayed there even for a night to really experience the beauty of the place. This will be in my bucket list for the next vacation.
- david (10/5): - I FEEL LIKE A STAR IN BEACHVIEW 1..OVERLOOKING THE OCEAN WITH A PRIVATE BALCONY..๐๐ฏ
I stay here for the incredible view...but
The people who work here are great people and fun to talk to..
I wish I had a photographic memory and could remember all of their names..
The culture here in Brgy Santiago, The people conduct themselves with integrity..
They are polite to each other ....

- DAVID (10/5): - It is a well maintained facility. Easy access to the beach
- Juan Carlos (10/5): Giant tree house - The resort was beautiful
Staff was great ,easy access to everything in resort
- Janet (6/5): - We love Santiago Bay resort. This was our 3rd trip the ocean views are spectacular, swimming in the ocean or pools are nice and staff are amazing. Wonderful massage and everything is affordable. The resort is not as well maintained as our last visit which was disappointing. Transportation was easy to get right outside the entrance of the hotel.
We had to leave early due to family and the resort didnโt respond to Expedia so we could get a refund. Again disappointing. However, we will be back.
- John (10/5): - Excellent place and friendly staff

- Vincent (10/5): - Great place right on the beach. Great for swimming and some nice coral off the beach for snorkeling. The infinity pool is only open on weekends, but there is another pool that is open during the week.
- Henrik (10/5): Best place on Camotes - Best place on Camotes
- Dan (10/5): - Loved the property, disappointed the infinity pool was close, if your looking to stay here for the view from the pool be ware it may be closed. I read other reviews saying the same thing. Also, no WiFi in the rooms if thatโs important to you then think twice. Otherwise the second pool on site was good and the food was good at the restaurant. Would recommend this resort.
- Jeff (10/5): - This property has some spectacular views; overlooking the bay, it really is a showstopper. Another thing that is really good about this resort is its proximity to some really nice beach restaurants/bars below the hotel. Just walk down the resortโs beach access stairway, and youโre mingling with expats and locals alike.
Finally, the staff is very helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend this property enough
- James (8/5): - Very nice view of Ocean and surrounding venues. In house restaurant served a very good international breakfast and other dining choices. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Beautiful views. Beautiful artistic property art. The only problem is that the property is overun with feral dogs and cats begging for food but so is the entire island.
- Raymart (10/5): Great view and nice garden resort. - It was nice stay as we have over looking directly to the ocean its really greay view. We will comeback again soon. The room is spaceous enough for a family and its comfortable foe sleep it is recommended to my friends to come soon in this place.
- Marie (10/5): - Very nice view of the beach and the sea. Considering the price, attention to details in terms of supplies and service provided.
- Yurie (10/5): - Beautiful beach, love the way I can walk into the water to get to the public beach area with food stands.
2 pools were great, however I wish I was informed that the big infinity pool is only usable during the weekend. It does not state like that anywhere in the booking page! I was shocked when I heard of that upon checking in (on Wednesday) since it was the biggest point when I decided on this resort. Friday was my check out day, so I could use a bit of it though.
One more mis-information was, they list "Santiago Bay Garden & Resort provides amenities like a hot tub and a restaurant." but they don't have a hot tub. This was also shocking to me, as hot tub is another reason I booked this resort. Upon checking in, I asked for the hot tub location and none of them knew what I was talking about. Disappointed.
Unexpected part was all the noise from public beach's karaoke all night long, but this is not the resort's fault :)
- G2Kpauly (8/5): Great resort - I really enjoyed my 4 night stay at this lovely resort. The view is amazing all around here. The staff were all nice. The 2 pools were good although one is only open Friday til Sunday. This is the best location to stay in Camotes as you have good cheap seafood restaurants on the beach nearby to eat at. The only issue would be wifi is very weak in room. I think it should be good all over this resort to make it perfect.
- Paul (8/5): Nice resort - I really enjoyed my 4 night stay at this lovely resort. The view is amazing all around here. The staff were all nice. The 2 pools were good although one is only open Friday til Sunday. This is the best location to stay in Camotes as you have good cheap seafood restaurants on the beach nearby to eat at. - James (10/5): - Beautiful and clean resort.
- I9279AUmichaelm (8/5): santiago bay garden and resort - recently stayed at Santiago Bay Garden and Resort and was impressed with the beautiful surroundings and well-maintained facilities. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The beach was clean, and the water was clear, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating is because I encountered some minor maintenance issues in my room. Overall, I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a stunning location.
- OSCAR (10/5): - Very nice place, beautiful.
- j0nnely (10/5): Astounding Scenery, Great Staff, Wide Beach, Peaceful - Very accommodating staff. Very clean and peaceful. During weekdays and it feels like it's exclusively for us. Not crowded and the scenery is very astounding. They offered free side trip and free use of amenities at their sister resort Mangodlong Rock Resort. I am not sure if guests from Mangodlong Rock Resort are free to visit and use the amenities of Santiago Bay Resort. The beach is very wide and you can walk further and still in the shallow part of the sea. I wanna go back there again and would definitely recommend this to anybody else trying to look for a stay in Camotes.
- VENUS (10/5): - The property was so amazing and very memorable to stay in.
- michael (8/5): - The food here was very good
The hotel is tired but in a fabulous location
- kimberlyaU9925IF (2/5): Not Highly recommended - I was VERY disappointed because we arrived before 2pm and we were accommodated for check in at 3pm when we arrived at the room it was not yet cleaned. We were offer a 10% discount but it was too late! I already full paid the room upon booking and we were about to check out when they offered it. We could have used it on the restaurant. Will never go back again. I would recommend other hotels but not this hotel. Not so accommodating
- Marissa (10/5): - This is my second time ,I love it and more more satisfied
- zavalaphilam (6/5): Nice place but not great - There are good points and bad points. The good: reasonable priced for what you get, both in rooms and food. Clean, nice beach area to explore, large area, nice pools. The bad. The restaurant is open only until seven pm. Likewise, the pools. We checked on about five thirty leaving little time to eat, no time to swim. Strange design . There was a cement column in the middle of the rear area of the room
- Jeen (10/5): - Staffs are really nice, helpful, and accomodating.
- Abner (10/5): - Nice one
- Emily (10/5): Awesome location right above the Bay. - Awesome location right above the Bay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This property is on Santiago Bay with a large beach area. But, the beach was covered with trash and debris. The rooms were "old and tired" with worn out furniture and fixtures. Room amenities were very limited (two towels, no hair dryer and Internet was only available in the lobby area, etc.). The food and dining options were quite good and the staff were delightful. Himinsulan Beach was a public beach a short drive away with great amenities like floating party houses, snorkeling and friendly staff.
- jsiscar (10/5): Best Place to Stay in Camotes! - The view from this resort is absolutely breathtaking! Sunsets here are the best! Located right beside the beach makes itโs so convenient! The only thing is if you are with a senior, it would be quite challenging going down the stairs.
Food in the restaurant is great, especially the Crispy Pata! Service is good too. We stayed at their Family Ocean View Room and it was just perfect! Right in front of one of their pools and very near the restaurant.
Will surely come back soon!
- maruuuuuuuuuuuuuu (10/5): Perfection - We loved staying at this hotel! Itโs very reasonable and the staff are accommodating. They have two swimming pools and it wasnโt too crowded. Breakfast was great, a walk away from the beach and more restaurants. I really recommend tourists to rent a motorbike if you want to explore the caves in this island โฃ๏ธ
- 422jasminl (10/5): Santiago Bay Garden Resort - We had a wonderful stay in this resort, the place is so peaceful and overlooking from the public santiago bay white beach resort, and its just a walk away, you only take the stairs going down. The food is great. You had an option to swim in the pool while its low tide. The beach is really fantastic,we would definitely come back with the whole family..
- rcoevoet (8/5): Beautiful view - Great location, close to a nice beach.
The room was decent. The place has several nice looking pools, however we used only the beach which we had direct access to.
We had some trouble with the water in our bathroom, and they were ready to change our room for that, but since we only stayed for two nights we did not love with the possibility.
The staff was very friendly, and the food was pleasant local food.
We would definitely recommend this place for others.
- pretty_chen33 (8/5): Our Christmas in Santiago Bay - It was indeed a very Merry Christmas, thank you so much for the memories we enjoyed our stay and we will recommend you to our friends special thanks to Jane,Jun and Glecerio for making us feel at home.
- Sephuzzy (10/5): Lovely location and Lovely Team - I didnโt just visit here, I got locked down for 14 weeks, so I really got to know the resort. I didnโt want to be locked down, but Santiago Bay was certainly the best place on the island to be stranded. Forever grateful to the staff for making my stay as comfortable as possible
- Cyril (8/5): - A peaceful place that you can chill with your partner. But one thing discouraging,
- SandrineF743 (6/5): Perfect location and wonderful view - The view and the location of this hotel are what makes it a good place to stay.
The rooms are very simple and already a little bit old, the bathroom was not good in our room, sink and CR almost falling apart...but overall the experience is good. Also we did not find the food very good compared to what we had in other places.
- sydneysteve (8/5): Best location on Camotes - Isolated location far from the ports for boats from Cebu and Leyte but without doubt the place to holiday. Preferable for couples and families.
Staff are helpful and for the most part well trained. I arrives just on dark in pain from a pulled muscle in my back. The receptionist was able to give me a pain killer capsule. The next morning it was a 1 hour round trip on a bike to the nearest pharmacy.
Various rooms to choose from. I stayed in a bay view room (8) but 1, 2 and 3 are the better ones for the iconic view over the bay. My room had a double bed and a single with clean linen. Small wardrobe and small table with chair. The aircon unit was old but still efficient and fairly quiet. The cable TV had limited english channels. Lighting was okay. The only power point for recharging was not in a handy position.
The bathroom was compact with the shower separated by a curtain. Hot water was good as was the pressure.
The restaurant has a fairly good menu, service and food both good. I thought the prices were more than reasonable. After having traveled extensively around the Philippines it was so good to find a cook who knew how to make a carbonara.
The receptionist was able to organise all my transport requirements. They did offer breakfast vouchers after the second day of being stranded on the island due to the typhoon tisoy.
Wifi is only available in the lobby area but I believe investing in an internet data package when traveling is always the smart thing to do.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A beautiful aspect over the garden and beach front. Great atmosphere and great food
- Estela (8/5): - It was amazing, love the sorroundings and view, food is good. I and my family are enjoying to stay in Santiago bay Hotel even though itโs our first time to check in their, see u nxt time when weโre coming back to Phillipines.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a pleasant stay. The place was very affordable , food was good and affordable, massage was cheap. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place.
Thanks!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All is well!
- Douglas (8/5): Overall good - Room was out dated but had a hot shower. The kids enjoyed the pools. The scenery was amazing.
- Core (8/5): - What we love is the Unique landscape and excellent view of the infinity pool.We didnt like about no spare of slippers to be use inside the washroom and no slipers inside the room to avoid the room being dirty and not hygenic. The wifi is not accessible at all except in the lobby and no free bfast.
- Fernando (8/5): - Really nice view. And the hotel looks and feels awesome.
- Reinald (6/5): Beautiful garden, and views, but no hot water - Beach is under average. But no crowd.
The hotel garden is very nice, and the views are awesome. The pools are well maintained and have an amazing view.
But be aware that many of the rooms don't have hot shower. Kind of a deal breaker for me. But if you don't mind...
The thing is, this critical info was not told to us until we checked in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Love the 2 infinity swimming pools! The staffs are polite and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful view and food was good, everyone was very friendly and overall I enjoyed my stay
- HIROKI (8/5): A Peaceful Island Resort - Itโs our second time staying the resort,
We like the ambiance, clean and green surrounding, peaceful and so relaxing the place,we enjoyed walking the white and wide beach shore,we keep coming back here,
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Wifi did not work. Hotel staff claim it had run out on whole island. This cannot happen and other places had wifi. The hotel simply did not want to increase their data useage before the end of the month. This is unfair on guests visiting later in the month, and unfair on staff who were using their personal data to manage bookings. Secondly the toilet facilities did not flush. Insteas bucket method, which though common in Asia, should not be the case in more luxury places like this. Cheap hostels yes, happy to bucket flush. Expensive hotels, no, not acceptable - plumbing should be better, or the price lower. It was very disheartening to pay so much more and get lesser facilities than a hostel. Also, the expedia rate advertised was around 1900php for a room for three adults. But the rate charged to my card, with no proper warning on booking pages was 2800php. Very unhappy and currently trying to rectify with expedia. Would book elsewhere in island in future and not via expedia again.
- Bill (8/5): - Very nice swimming pools. Overall, food at hotel restaurant was good. Other places to eat and have a drink not far from the hotel and are on the beach.
- Ann (8/5): Beautiful Resort in front of the Beach . - The staff friendly and very nice landscape of the resort .
- Dominic (8/5): Beautiful beaches, quiet, secluded island. Lovely - This is Such a beautiful place, and extremely quiet, which was the only fault about the place. The beach here is so beautiful, but virtually no one was here. If you want beautiful secluded holiday this is th3 place to stay
- SP (10/5): Breathtaking View - We stayed here for four nights and we're pleased with our accommodations, food and hospitality of their staff.I highly recommend this place esp.if you want an authentic tropical setting w/ a cliff-top garden overlooking the beautiful white sand beach of the Bay !
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok resort, close to the beach. - Food is good at a nice price. Rooms could use a upgrade, no hot water, and dated.
- Jesper (8/5): Bad beds but lovely surroundings - Nice place to stay in Camotes. Hard bed with a brick of a pillow didn't do much for the nightly comfort but otherwise it a decent stay at an amazing location.
- P from Manila (8/5): 2 nights at Santiago Bay - The resort itself is stunning. the location of the rooms facing the beach was very good. you got the nice view for IG. But few things really disappoint me. We reserved 2 Oceanview Family rooms, i was expecting we will get 2 rooms next to each other since we are a group of 7, to my dismay we got end rooms, with 2 other room in between. Another thing is the key of 1 room doesnt fit. We want to go out but we cant lock the door. we ask for assistance but they insisted we have the right key. so we have them tried and it takes about 30 mins before they decided to finally change our key from their master keys. after the Key incident, we never really had problems and enjoyed our 3D2N at Camotes.
- Rachel (4/5): Got messed around heaps - We booked 7 months in advance and there was a group of 21 with us and when we arrived the had double booked our rooms and told us our booking was only for 1 night but on the confirmation it had 3 and was told we could be moved to their other resort for no extra cost cause their was a party the following night so we went to the other resort wasnt as nice but that was fine then the next night the party was at the resort we got moved too so if we wanted to chill out of tue night we had to go to the 1st resort
So was not impressed just want to have few drinks then go bed not travel to the other resort have drinks then travel back to the room
Was not happy
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice looking hotel - The hotel had no record our booking and had to transfer us to another resort which wasnt as nice
- Daniel (8/5): Wonderful location, paradise island. - Itโs a marvelous location, a true paradise island, the Hotel Santiago Bay is very very beautiful, sadly the rooms are not great, just ok, acceptable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Beach is the best about this place - Garden nice but the service and rooms could be better
- Walter (10/5): Great and friendly staff! - The staff was very friendly, cleanest hotel I stayed out while visiting the Philippines. (stayed at 4 hotels). Nice and quiet the whole time we were there. And they stated it was booked full.
Seems like we had the beach to ourselves most of the time,
I'd DEFINATELY stay again, and hopefully stay longer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The place is amazing the only negative thing about the place is, it doesnt have wifi.
- Tim (10/5): Best hotel in Cebu - Located above the most beautiful and peaceful beach in Cebu. Everything about this hotel is perfect including the friendly staff, the cost of the food and the well developed hotel. I've been here 5 times already and will be back many more times to come.
- HIMALAYA (8/5): I like Santiago Bay Garden & Resort.Fresh air. - Very nice,We enjoy very much.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet relaxing place needs coffee making facilities in the room
- G (10/5): Exceeded my expectation - Very pleasant stay. The foods are great. The staff are very accomodating.
- Nudge (4/5): Pretty on the eye, but terrible. - Service is bad. No hot water. Safety rails are broken near cliffs edge and danger of falling. Rooms are dirty and over priced. We had a faulty smoke alarm that went off 3 times waking me up and then I told them and they said they will monitor it and fix it. I watched the guy stay for about 2 minutes and then just walk off. It went off another 2 times during the night making my nights sleep poor. They did not care.
- Claude Radolla (6/5): just okay - Average place . not for small children or older people . the stair steep and very high to climb and the railings are unsafe for small children. if you have a young one be careful.
- Ria (10/5): Comfortable and clean resort - It was great...definitely will comeback
- Bill (8/5): Overall a very nice stay. - Overall very nice stay. The mattresses are terrible, but the room is nice....a beach hotel. The grounds of hotel were very nice wrapping up and down the beach landscape. Food was pretty good at hotel. Need better pizza and burgers. Nice views everywhere and beautiful pool. Not world class, but I would recommend to others.
