Kimberly Dale (10/5): The perfect, comfortable end to our South Island trip😊 - Our last stop on our South Island loop turned out to be one of the best stays we’ve had ❤️ We stayed at Alcala Motor Lodge and were pleasantly surprised when they upgraded us to a 2-bedroom unit… such a treat after a long trip! The space was super spacious, spotless, and fully equipped with everything we needed to relax and recharge. What really stood out was the hospitality. The team was so kind and accommodating, and even said yes to our late checkout request, which we really appreciated. Little things like that make such a difference when you’re travelling. There’s also plenty of parking, which made everything so easy for us. We genuinely enjoyed our stay here, it was the perfect way to end our trip. We’ll definitely be back soon! 🥰🥰

Andrew (10/5): A great and worthwhile stay - I was lucky enough to be upgraded to the one bedroom which was great value. Overall no noise either side due to stairs and only people above us who were quiet for the most part. Good facilities. It was nice having the seperate room instead of the studio. Great location and pretty central if you have a car its perfect, parking is really good too. The owners are really helpful and really care. I noticed the location has good security, it felt secure and safe. Ill be staying again. Maybe look at heat-pump in future. A big but worthwhile investment. Maybe an extraction fan for the bathroom. Just suggestions not complaints.

Nice quiet location too away from the hustle and bustle of the night life in cbd. Great lighting in the room. We were on the upper level and I noticed it was also child proofed the access to the balcony (thank you). The pillows are super comfy too! Nothing I didnt like. Im always looking for a good price though.

A warm and pleasant welcome with a willingness to help with everything. The rooms are spacious and clean, and there is everything you need. If there was anything missing, there was always a willingness to provide. They gave us laundry services and allowed us to stay beyond check-out hours. Turning into the carpark is challenging across busy oncoming traffic but Google takes you to Sherborne Street from Bealey Ave. The shower lever was hard to turn. Ok for me but maybe difficult for young or older guests. Couldn't use the bed light easily.

Everything is well organized, clean, well equipped, great location, nice decor, great bathroom with bath! The staff/owner is very friendly! Actually the most friendly staff we have met in New Zealand!!!
