With a restaurant in the backyard en very friendly people at the reception. Good hot shower, good beds. I would have appreciated an extra blanket but maybe if I would have asked they would have provided.

The staff are the best part of this hotel - Ready to help with anything at anytime. Rustam led us on a tour of historic sites, introduced us to local cuisine, and booked cars when we needed a taxi.

I had great contact with all the staff. Rustam gave me a really nice tour through baktapur durbar square. Breakfast is also tasty with different options

And the best Sim for my phone. Great hotels, with a standard room which is ideal. Very nice restaurant just outside the hotel
Michael (8/5): Central Thamel - The stay was fine, good shower, A/C and small balcony, bed was just ok for a four night stay. Great location in a lovely part of the city, staff were very nice too, breakfast was at the Olive restaurant right next door and was very good. Overall I’d recommend this hotel for the cheap price I paid.
Michael (6/5): Kathmandu was great! - My stay was fine, hotel was in a great location, staff were really friendly and very helpful, you have to insist on room service relating to changing bedding, which was not an issue with me. Wifi and shower was good no issues.. I would recommend staying here for the price I paid.

Superb location in the centre of Thamel but set back from rhe busy road so very peaceful. I will certainly have this hotel as my first choice in Thamel. The o ly downside is that it first not have a lift so not suitable for those with mobility problems.

They are very friendly and gave us a homely environment. When I went with my family for 7 days tour. They made a reasonable tour plan for me. And the experience was excellent. I strongly recommend thamel grand hotel for the travellers to take their hospitality.

593sushilt (2/5): terrible receptionist - what a staff they hire . terrible staff of reception i don’t know what to say about him just because of him i canceled my booking after facing him. i booked hotel for 26th april and i requested them to kindly check in early in the morning yeah they agreed but when i reached there he said you don’t have bookings i show him call log he ignored me he denied what the hotel only accepts online booking? not phone booking? terrible morning i had he talks so rude i left the hotel without informing other staff so disappointed

One of the important things I have realized Humanity or unconditional love that you receive from around is something that you can't buy with any big amount of money. I appreciate the service that the staff provided me during my staying at the hotel. I paid not for the type bedroom wherein I slept or the other stuff that I used in the hotel area, but hopefully for the great hospitality the staff treated me with, and their willingness to help a strange guest like me to realize a true value of being a human to live in the same planet. Although, the hotel seems to have some downsides in terms of adequacy of consideration, (i.e, when it comes about calculating the price value as per the quality of the products or services you are buying), I could realize that their intention or willingness to treat me with great hospitality or the respect they showed me as a brother but not as their customer, was really true, and so, priceless and above all. Thank you all.

They also arranged my trekking to Annapurna base camp at very affordable price with a very experienced tourist guide service.Food and beverage were delicious at their cafe. They even picked me up from airport which helped me a lot as I was very exhausted.Overall I recommend everyone to stay at this hotel while you travel to Kathmandu.

Actually I booked for one night, then I went trekking for 13 days, later returned to the same hotel because of the hospitality they provided to me and extended my booking for the next 5 days in Kathmandu. The location was the best part, The hotel is little inside from the busy street therefore there was no noise at all and I felt very safe in this hotel. There was hot water every time I tried to take showed and the people around the hotel were very welcoming, extra friendly and very polite with good manners. The Wi-Fi is very promising as I had to work from my laptop and the breakfast was very clean and healthy. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends in London and would again come back if I am in Nepal next time.

I felt very welcoming during the check-in time and the staffs where like my buddies they treated me very nicely with lots of love and respect. The hotel even took care of my luggage when I was out and helpd me arrange my trip to Annapurna base camp with their professional and experienced guide on a good budget. I was delighted with the breakfast they provided me from the black olives Cafe also the management here is exceptional.

Garima (10/5): - An amazing experience with the hotel- First they came to receive me at the airport and waited for almost 2 hours since my flight got delayed. I was a bit nervous but to my surprise, they didn't mind waiting at all and were very welcoming. After a long flight, I was really tired and the water in the shower was really warm and delivered good pressure. The room was really spacious, clean, and comfortable. And all the staffs were very helpful and friendly. There was an attached restaurant to the hotel 'Black Olives Cafe' which served really good food and the breakfast was really top-notch. The hotel is in an ideal location close to Thamel's main hub yet it was so peaceful throughout the day and night. I enjoyed the stay and I'll be here again next time for sure. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

The food at the attached restaurant was really good and the breakfast (included) was also! There is no lift in the hotel but they offered to carry my bags upstairs. It wasn't a problem for me personally either way. Very good location in Thamel and surprisingly quiet for how central it is. Would recommend
barbarajE7675WU (10/5): Come as guest, leave as friend - When we checked in at the Thamel Grand Hotel for the first time we had such a warm and kind welcome. The owner of the hotel and his team took best care of us and our special needs. And we had a few. E.g., our luggage arrived late at the airport and they arranged for us to have it delivered to the hotel, which allowed us to enjoy our short-stay in Kathmandu right from the beginning instead of dealing wit this situation ourselves. Breakfast in the beautiful garden of the neighbouring restaurant is rich and so delicious ... freshly squeezed papaya and watermelon juice, cappuccino with perfect milk foam, a wide variety of local and international breakfast choices ... When we returned after our trekking tour arriving at the Thamel Grand felt like coming back to a friend's house. And again we needed some special treatment. When leaving we had to get to the airport on election day, when public transport and getting around was restricted by official authorities. It was out of question that everything was arranged for us again and we were reliably taken to the airport. Whenever we will be in Kathmandu again we will happily return to the Thamel Grand.

jlh3108 (10/5): Great hotel, great staff - I actually stayed here in May 2017 but for some reason never got around to putting a review on :( I booked in here after completing the EBC trek. I was severely unwell, I had (what I learned after) pretty heavy pneumonia along with a hernia that I developed from coughing so much. I was so weak and probably should have been in hospital but I stuck it out. The guy on reception, sadly I didn’t get his name, was so kind and helpful. Whilst we didn’t talk about it, he could see I was suffering. Instead of just getting me a water, he made me this hot lemon drink a couple of times and it saved my life, maybe not literally but metaphorically. After not being able to eat properly or speak for days and losing a tonne of weight, I made a full recovery some weeks later, and his small act of kindness was what set me on my way. I just wanted to pass on my thanks to him. The hotel was great as well!
146alins (8/5): Good 2 Weeks here - I stayed with my Family for 2 Weeks in this Hotel. For the price,the Comfort and cleanliness level is satisfactory. Your request and need is always promptly taken care of and the Staff is very humble and polite. Breakfast was served by very smiling young Waiters/Waitress. Overall, a good experience. I recommend!

Again the staff are really friendly and helpful. I booked for 2 nights and stayed for 4 nights as was so reasonably priced and rooms were clean and spacious. Only downside is the noise from the surrounding hotels/bars and is a nightclub nearby. So great if you want to party as can roll back in no time at all.

Kevin (8/5): Great new hotel in Thamel - The Thamel Grand was perfectly located, good size room and bathroom allowed us to spread out, free wifi and excellent free breakfast at the Black Olive restaurant. The staff was friendly and made our stay comfortable. Great for shopping and enjoying a few days in Thamel at the end of a long journey.

Verified traveler (2/5): Poor service, freezing showers, and hidden fees - There is nothing grand about the Thamel Grand Hotel. I regrettably stayed here for 4 nights. There are many hidden fees and tricks. I ended up transferring to another hotel. -Mostly cold showers - I showered 4 times and there was only lukewarm water once -Heater - costs an extra 500 rupees per day -Overcharging - there was no electricity for a whole day, but they still charged me 500 rupees for the heater even though I couldn't turn it on -No breakfast buffet - If you call 1 egg and 2 pieces of bread a buffet. I ordered a tea and a coffee and they made me pay for one of the drinks. Definitely not a buffet -Rude staff - The manager asked me to write a 5 star review for his hotel then he hovered over me uncomfortably making sure I was writing a review. Thankfully my guide showed up -No cleaning service - I hung the clean my room sign on my room for 2 days. Nobody cleaned it. I had to call for toilet paper and used the same towel for 4 days - Bad atmosphere - The lobby is like a boys club where the workers hang out and watch TV. Definitely not somewhere that you hang out
Sandra (10/5): Excellent service. highly recommend - i had wonderful time at thamel grand hotel. it is located at center of thamel, even it is in center of thamel, there was no noisy at night. staff are very helpfull, friendly and they know what is hospitality. wifi work all the which is very important to be connected with my family. oh yes, there is black olive cafe which provide delicious food. overall i enjoy my stay at thamel grand hotel

Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Most impressive staff are here for any help. i recommend highly and hope to stay again

Comfy bed, I met the owners who were very pleasant to chat with. Just an awesome experience all together. The view on the roof was great too.

The hotel is located in the city center making it very easy and convenient to travel within the city. The hotel staff are very polite and attentive. The rooms are spacious and clean with very good amenities. I am very impressed with the service and hospitality here. I would definitely recommend thamel grand hotel to anyone traveling to Kathmandu and looking for a great hotel.

Richard (10/5): Best Hotel in Thamel - Best hotel we could have in Thamel in cheap price. Quaint little hotel right in the heart of Thamel within walking distance to everything you need such as restaurant, shops, trekking, travel agency and many more. The hotel was located just far enough from the main drag to be situated in a quiet little spot. All of the staff was friendly and prompt to help any time and we met the owner who was very friendly and funny. The rooms were also perfect. A true Nepali experience with a large double shower bathroom. Wifi was supper fast and constable. Overall we enjoy our stay at Thamel grand hotel
Rahul (10/5): Nice hotel in center of tourist hub - I cannot ask more in terms of location of this nice little hotel. it's at the heart of Thamel, the tourist hub and very accessible to the historic places in Kathmandu. the staff are very helpful, right from the time I booked and i send emai for pick up service. they arranged for airport pick-up and also for the taxi to move me around sightseeing place, at a very reasonable rates. the rooms are tidy and charmin, wifi work well. also hotel and cold water run all the time. i enjoy my stay and i highly recommand this hotel for comfortable stay in cheap price
Julie (10/5): Highly Recommend - Your home away from home. Thamel Grand Hotel is a safe, new and beautiful hotel with nice rooms, great food in black olive restaurant, and very reasonable rates. It is located inside the thamel, but it is far enough away from those places' hustle and bustle to give you a very quiet and relaxing experience. Its kind and friendly owner and their very helpful staff are dedicated to making your stay a memorable one. Air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, hot showers, great food, and nice people at a very good price. This is the place to stay. I highly recommend and I hope to stay again in my next trip to nepal
Verified traveler (4/5): Really? - We were about to check out of the hotel when the earthquake happened. We fled the building and the man at the front desk during the big aftershock had the ordasity to ask if we had settled our bill! We didn't owe any money but he ran back inside mid tremor to look!!! This is the only person in Nepal that I have found to be so thoughtless and rude. The hotel were not very helpful in general but the room was clean and comfortable.
Verified traveler (4/5): Hard to Find! - Address is incomplete, taxi driver had difficulty finding hotel, and actually left me stranded, since he couldn't find it. Phone number listed is no help either as it is not their correct phone number. Taxi from airport was 700R. The hotel has a master switch to control your air conditioning and cut mine off mid day while I was in my room. I don't appreciate that. Also, it seems that OYO Hotel is just a big umbrella company, the actual name of the hotel is "NatRaj Yes Please" Here are directions and correct phone number: Phone +91-11-23587300 Recommend using the Metro to access (around 300R): Take the Blue Metro line to "RK Ashram" Station and use Exit #1, then after proceeding down the stairs, turn right down that road, then take the second (2nd) road on the right. Walk down around 100 meters and it is on the right hand side. Look for their sign over the door, "NatRaj Yes Please". Using Google Maps, the street they are on is "Lakshmi Narayan St"

S and M (10/5): Thamel Grand Hotel is the best! - My husband and I booked this hotel for 10 days so that we could have a home base. I believe we had the best room in the building (Room 304) which had a balcony and two large windows. The double bed was extremely comfortable, the room spacious with high ceilings. The staff friendly and willing to be of assistance whenever required. Most importantly, this hotel is not to be confused with the Grand Hotel in Red Cross Sedak, Kathmandu!
