- Peter (9/5): Comfortable - It was easy to find at the heart of the small village. The breakfast was good but only continental. The evening meal was excellent with the chef taking a pride in using local produce. Breakfast didn't start until 8am at the earliest
- Clare (10/5): - Staff friendly, spotless. Food incredible
- vera and franklin (10/5): - Friendliness and helpful on arrival.
Excellent evening meal the sweets to die for.👵 Being older clients, the stairs were a bit of a struggle, but the staff took care of our bags too.
- Lynn (10/5): Excellent service and meal. Staff were helpful and friendly and accommodation was first class -
- Harry (6/5): -
- Sullivan (8/5): - Handy location for wedding we were attending. Friendly staff. Nice garden. Plenty of parking. Good breakfast. Very nice meal in restaurant.
- Rod (9/5): Comfortable room in a traditional pub - Nice modern room in a traditional local pub. Good breakfast. Nothing
- Mathew (10/5): Great comfortable, convenient and good value stay. - Comfy bed, good shower, peaceful night, generous and tasty breakfast with good coffee too. Very nice dinner in nice pub & garden and lovely staff too.
Easy access with plenty of parking (though we were there on a quiet mid-week night). Nothing
- Martin (8/5): - This was our second visit in 2 years enroute from W London to Cornwall. It's obviously a very popular pub with a wide range of activities. We enjoyed a very generous breakfast served by a delightful young girl
- Lagdon (7/5): Disappointing - easy to find , very clean asked via Booking.com for a ground floor room due to my mobility b, this was agreed. However there are no ground floor rooms . The breakfast was a big disappointment , the staff didnt seem to be interested .
- james (9/5): - Great place, very friendly and helpful staff, great continental breakfast included
- Peter (7/5): The location suited us for what we we required. - The location suited us for what we wanted to achieve.
Staff very friendly and helpful. No suggestion.
- Anthony (10/5): We were treated like guests and not a money opportunity. -
- Christian (9/5): -
- smith (9/5): Lovely place for a break in Somerset and the best continental breakfast I’ve ever had - Great location, nice bar and rooms, good food, big car park
- James (7/5): It was just a stop off point and catered for are needs - Staff was fantastic good food and drink Not much to do in the area and would of preferred a cooked breakfast
- Annette (8/5): -
- Brian (8/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): - Good location for us. The room was clean and comfortable. The entrance door to the corridor and stairwell could just be a little more inviting. Smelt of cigarette and dirty. This is the first impression going to your room.
- Ivan (10/5): Well located lively pub! - Comfortable room in a well located pub. Friendly staff and great ambience. N/A

- Linda (9/5): - Clean rooms, brilliant staff Stairs up to rooms can't be helped as old building but are difficult for older people
- Sarah (9/5): Good fun, great find, amazing food. - Brilliant dinner and breakfast. Met some lovely locals. The fireplace was exceptionally cosy. All good - remarkable find, so glad we booked there. Lighting by bed could be improved.

- David (9/5): - Friendly staff, good atmosphere
- Esme (9/5): -
- John (9/5): -
- Christine (8/5): Comfortable, welcoming and well located - must go back in the summer and try the beer garden! - The breakfast isn't a buffet option, but a choice of cereals, followed by a large plate of freshly sliced fruits, yogurt, croissant, local sliced meat and cheese - so a little unusual, but pretty substantial when you enjoy all these things. A clever and refreshing offering for a place that doesn't have many overnight guests, and a good start to the day.
We marked the location as good because it was ideal for a family visit. It's actually on a busy crossroads, but none of that could be heard from the room at the back so don't be put off.
It is clearly a pub that's really engaged with the locals as well, as are the staff, all of which give it a good vibe. They clearly do a lot of great charity fundraising.
If you know your beers, wines and whiskies, the drinks menu is extensive and detailed. The twin room was on the compact side, though well-equipped - but that's surely what you'd expect in an extended country pub. Certainly not a deal-breaker.
- Mike (9/5): -
- Kat (7/5): Not for me - That was the smallest room I have ever stayed, no room to open your laptop. Breakfast is continental with one slice of cheese. However the staff was very nice and I got another slice after I asked 😉
- Culley (5/5): - Location was great and staff friendly. Bed was tiny and hard... Pillows were hard... I had to wedge the door with tissues to stoop it rattling whenever anyone else in the pub moved. The heating was on all day when not needed and then off all night. The tea making facilities had no milk or sugar. The room was also tiny. So hard for two people to get ready for a night out.
Not great for £120 for one night.
- Gavin (8/5): - Convenient
Lovely staff
- Kyle (9/5): - This is a perfect example of a charming local pub with rooms for rent. The accommodations are nothing fancy but they are cozy. The pub itself is quite charming and there is a wide variety of high quality food and drink. The staff is warm and friendly and the locals are welcoming as well. Everyone seems to know everyone as should be the case at a great local. The beds in the two person room are absolutely miniscule even by pub lodging standards.
- T (5/5): Disappointing breakfast - The breakfast was very disappointing, it was cereal and toast with only strawberry jam, no marmalade.
- Kathie (7/5): Good accomodation, well priced, would stay again. - Bedroom was beautifully furnished with a comfy bed. The water in the shower was hot and plentiful. We very much appreciated bottles of water and the takeaway breakfast we had one day. It was handy having the pub restaurant to eat at on arriving. Had a good meal. Bedroom was at the rear of property so could be nosy at night if customers were sat outside drinking.
A menus/list of items available for the continental breakfast would be good.
- Carmelo (6/5): -
- Gavin (10/5): Excellent stay! - Room and bathroom were very clean. The continental breakfast was exceptional and the landlord was very happy to make me a flask of coffee for my working day. I had to get to the showground early each day and he boxed up my breakfast which I really enjoyed. Great hospitality all round!
- Dawn (8/5): - Staff, food, beer and atmosphere excellent. Sadly we needed an early night but every time a door closed down stairs it made our room door vibrate loudly. We weren’t able to get to sleep until the pub downstairs closed. For this reason we wouldn’t stay again.
- Holger (8/5): -
- Remi (9/5): -
- Laurence (7/5): - Lovely staff, great location and good food, with great range of drinks. Not always easy to find staff at breakfast time. Room could have done with a bit more storage space, particularly shelves. Unpleasant smell (possibly cleaning fluids) on the entry and stairs to the bedrooms.
- david (6/5): Excellent stay, garden was inviting but food was a bit of a let down - Pretty central for what we wanted to do and see. Always buzzing with activity and staff were exceptionally helpful always Breakfast was pretty poor not much selection and only continental. Could have been better for the price of room
- Gareth (9/5): - The staff and the food was great 😃👍 Room is tired and uncomfortable and smelly 😞
- Bronwen (9/5): Very good - Attention to detail in bedroom Breakfast a bit limited
- Elias (10/5): - Excellent breakfast.
- Mitchell (10/5): - A wonderful place to stay. Delightful pub with comfortable rooms. Great atmosphere. Lovely continental breakfast and the food in the restaurant in the evening was first rate. Highly recommended.
- Geoffrey Kenneth (8/5): A good base for exploring Somerset and east Devon - Good bed, tasty food and easy parking Room a bit small, climbing up the stairs!
- Liz Jessiman (7/5): - Comfortable bed, lovely breakfast Very smokey smell coming from the garden area into the eating and bar area Surfaces such as handrail to the rooms very sticky Also the stair carpet is very badly stained This has been rated by Booking.com as 5 star sorry we have stayed in better 3 star
- PAUL (10/5): -
- Steve (9/5): - Lovely old pub with good selection of beers and wines. We had a very good roast dinner on Sunday evening and the girl serving us was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental but all on one plate. Plenty of food. Room was clean and well provisioned with plenty of replacement refreshments each day. Lovely staff. Room was a little on the small side but well put together . It would have been nice to have a cooked breakfast option but the continental was plenty and included in the cost.
- Steve (10/5): a great 1 night stay - The location of the property was fine for work, the room was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful
- Peter (9/5): A quintessential English friendly country pub! - It was a great country pub. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beer garden area is great. Their range of beers and quality of food were impressive. Access to the rooms with heavy luggage up the steep, narrow staircase, is difficult. Although expected, the lack of aircon in warm weather can detract from the comfort of the room.
- Ariane (9/5): Excellent, ticked the boxes - Liked fact that came across as real Inn, popular and alive. Good beer, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Breakfast exceptional.. Room, comfortable, clean and tidy and not noisy despite being close to crossroads. Liked the sheep sticker on the toilet rolls. As a place to stay after a long journey, great plus well rested before going on the festival site to put up our installations. Plenty of car parking. Person doing breakfast had excellent customer service skills Bit chaotic signing in but we were a bit late
- Martin (10/5): Great Short break - Fantastic lively pub, well located in rural Somerset.
Excellent food, with great choices of Evening Meal.
Continental breakfast was superb.
All staff were wonderful, cheerful and hard working, with a special mention for Hannah.
- Trudi (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional food, menu really good
- David (10/5): A superb pub with rooms and a great atmosphere - What I think is some sort of old coaching inn with a great car park a nice garden, a pizza oven in the garden and a outstanding selection of beers and ciders. A great base for exploring inland Somerset.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gina (7/5): Good - The continental breakfast Room was very hot
- Hermione (10/5): - comfortable and immaculately clean room, good continental breakfast and very friendly staff
- Salma (8/5): Very comfortable and enjoyable. Super location would stay again.. - Great location. Clean. Comfortable. Great food. Star, very friendly and helpful. A bit pricey, but I presume it was because it was Glastonbury week.
- Dan (10/5): Great vibe, lovely friendly staff - Really lovely, quirky pub with exceptionally friendly staff and a really nice community vibe. Lovely mix of locals and visitors. Good choice of draft ciders and a very tasty menu. Would highly recommend.
- Susan (8/5): Good value for money. - No cooked breakfast but the croissant, ham, cheese and fruit was very nice.
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Neary (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (8/5): Good place for a short stay - Good beer. Comfortable and clean
- Helen (9/5): We had a great stay. - Everything, There was nothing we didn't like.
- Nigel (7/5): Good friendly pub, popular with locals. - Great for an overnight stay. It's a pub, well used by locals with no frills. The food in the evening is good. Breakfast is continental but ample. There is no EV charging, in the car park or anywhere nearby.
- Jd (9/5): Great traditional pub and restaurant with good rooms and friendly staff. - Good sized rooms. Well furnished and clean. Staff were wonderful. Restaurant, beer garden, traditional ales. Plenty of parking. Nothing
- Claus (10/5): One week stay in a extremely nice surronding. - I travelled with my mother (93 years old). Very nice people, clean rooms, nice food and secure parking. It was a great one week stay and we came a long way from Switzerland.
- Chris (9/5): Really good place to stay with great staff and good atmosphere - Great atmosphere and nice bar downstairs with a comfy room Bit noisy at night from outside
- lynette (10/5): Great little find The Cross Keys - Very pleasant people. Attentive. Room clean. Nice touch, bottled water. Clipper tea. Clean bathroom. Nice towels on heated towel rail. Plenty of parking. Continental breafast, all fresh ingredients, melon, grapes, orange, yoghurt, croissant well presented on a plate. Busy little pub, lots going on. Beer garden.
- Linda (9/5): The friendly staff made our stay a good one - Staff were amazing Nothing
- Dave (8/5): Very good -
