- Lindsay (6/5): Um, OK, but we went elsewhere on our most recent stay. - A clean, tidy unit. The manager gave us a discount as a returning customer. Quite cramped for two. Only one relaxing chair and you couldn't put it in a place where you could watch TV. Mismatched crockery and cutlery. The manager told me there had been a lot of group bookings that had caused the problem. He said it would be sorted in a week's time. I couldn't accept this because on my earlier stay I had complained about mismatched cutlery and crockery (in the same unit) - and he apologised and said he would fix it. It obviously didn't happen.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, equipped with heating, and the heated mattress was a delightful surprise that gave me a very restful sleep. The owner has lived in the area for many years and can provide thorough and helpful advice for any questions about traveling in Taupo. The motel also offers parking, making it an especially good choice if you’re driving.

Location close to lake, very clean and despite me needing to go in and out during the night, I felt very safe the entire time. The staff is very friendly and reception was comforting when I thought I’d be late for check in. Absolutely appreciated that. Definitely booking again

- Delwyn (10/5): Affordable clean and tidy accommodation with an empathetic host - highly recommend - We contacted Andy a few days prior to arrange early key pickup and registration as we were attending a funeral and unsure when we would be able to book in. To our surprise Andy messaged us at 11.30 on the day to say that we could get into our units- his thoughtfulness and kindness was so appreciated. We would recommend anyone wanting affordable clean and tidy accommodation to stay here The property is a little outdated but very clean and tidy - this is not a criticism

Küche und Bad waren neu, extra Esstisch, nur die Coutch war sehr durchgesessen. Die Lage im Ort ist ideal. Zum See 3min zu Fuß, in die Innenstadt 10min. Einkauf und Gastronomie ist nicht weit weg, wenngleich nicht direkt nebenan. Die direkte Umgebung ist schön ruhig. Parkplatz kostenlos direkt vor dem Appartment. Jederzeit wieder. Die Coutch war durchgesessen und passte damit nicht zum sonstigen sehr guten Eindruck des Zimmers. Und wenn das Hotel voll belegt ist, scheint es nicht für jedes Appartment einen eigenen Parkplatz am Appartment zu geben. Wer zu spät kommt, muss auf der Straße parken.

Staying here was a little disappointing especially for the price, unfortunately no pay wave feature is available at this hotel to pay with tap n go, the room wasn’t really well set out and appears that most of the furniture has been handed down from other hotels. The bathroom was tiny, with the smallest sink and a large 2 foot step up into the shower and the toilet was located in what I’d describe is placed in a closet. The bed comfortable and very large. Noticed cobwebs and a spider in the corner of the room. Parking is very tight at this location.

- Emily (4/5): It was okay watch out for rooms 9, 10, 11 October 2025 - The location was good easily walkable into town and could see the lake from the hotel We got put in a room where the staff member openly knew that there was a hot water issue and he said that it had been like it for a couple weeks unsure why he hadn’t had someone out there to fix it so we were unable to have any hot water which was very disappointing.
