Guest Reviews
- Elaine (10/5): - Best hostel I’ve stayed at in Australia! Staff are incredible (especially Sarah). Location is stunning - it’s remote but gorgeous. I would -*highly* recommend a couple of nights here on your East Coast travels and certainly better than staying in Mission Beach which is full of construction. Despite being so remote, the prices at the cafe are very reasonable and the food and drinks are great quality. Spacious rooms, lovely communal areas, good bathrooms. I absolutely loved it here and would definitely return if I found myself in the area again. Wonderful experience and great memories made. I will be shouting about this place forever!!
- Susan (10/5): - Excellent
- Anna (10/5): - Really lovely hostel and a great place to come and relax. Highly recommend. Worth mentioning that there isn’t really a shop close by so bring some food with you if you don’t have your own transport. The Mission Link shuttle is excellent - very easy and great value and service. Lots of good walks around and gorgeous views. The property is stunning. Also worth mentioning that there are a lot of mosquitoes given the location so make sure to bring bug spray. 10/10. Thanks for a lovely stay
- Kaidan (10/5): - Excellent, would recommend. Fresh food and drinks at the reception was a nice bonus
- Helen (10/5): - Quiet quaint little place, on the hippie side. Love it!!!
- Jacqui (8/5): - Nice property. Very short stay.
- Veronique (10/5): Welcoming wallabies and more. - This Hostel was in an excellent location! It was very calming and relaxing, the jungle atmosphere suited us perfectly! The room was basic but comfortable. The staff were as friendly and welcoming as the wallabies who live on the property- you can feed them you know! There are also lizards and frogs to be seen. Fabulous!
- Carolin (8/5): - Sehr idyllisch gelegenes Hostel für junge Leute
- Milla (10/5): - Small property, great atmosphere, beautiful area, awesome host.
- Peter (10/5): - Quiet at night, rsa, great natural setting
- Bjorn (10/5): - Beautiful place. Peace and quiet.
- Lisa (10/5): - Great atmosphere, lovely pool, terrific room for the price. Not too far from other amenities. I have only downgraded some of the questions as some things are shut because of covid. We loved it
- Peter (6/5): Disappointing - Booked a comfort dorm with balcony- didn't get it.
Breakfast was to be provided- didn't get it.
Top bunks extremely squeaky, kept me up all night.
Friendly staff.
Clean rooms and kitchen.
- Rebecca (8/5): Decent stopover point for a good night sleep - Stayed in a private double room. The house was kept tidy and clean. WiFi was decent and I was able to complete Zoom calls without any interruption. I pretty much stayed in my room though (which also had a mini fridge). Although you can hear every footstep or suitcase being moved in the dorm room above. Definitely a young crowd, glad I only booked 1 night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly private & secluded feeling yet close to everything
- Ryan (6/5): Not in mission beach - This was just an average hostel, however it's location was not ideal at all. Far from Mission Beach and up in the middle of no where, half an hours walk to the nearest anything and then further if you actually want to go to a beach. Also so many bugs it was crazy!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Really cool jungle hostel, felt like being in the rainforest, friendly staff and great hostel bar.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Paradise = Mission Beach - I can't say enough good things about this hostel. The facilities were very clean and looking like brand new. The people were amazing. The receptionist Amir was very helpful and welcoming. All of the volunteers work hard and make you feel like family. I was able to join in a lovely yoga class. There is a free shuttle that takes you all over Mission Beach and the driver Steven is really nice. I feel like I got such a great value for the money I paid. While you're in the hostel you get this beautiful view of the rainforest. I was just so happy and relaxed the entire time. I am not even exaggerating when I say that overall this is the best hostel I've stayed in Australia.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Beautiful location - Hostel is in a beautiful location and has good amenities plus it's own bar (and free welcome drink on arrival), It's comfortable and exactly what you would expect from a backpackers. Only major thing was the noise - rooms and the common room are on the same floor, so music playing most of the night and you can hear peoples conversations. I was there just as a stopover and to sleep really, so if you're there to socialise and party a bit it's definitely worth it.
Pool.
Sehr hilfsbereite und freundliche Mitarbeiter.
- katie (10/5): Unique and extremely comfortable experience - Such a great place with the bonus of good staff, super clean and good vibes
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Ikke spesielt bra.
- Diana (8/5): Beautiful surrounds. - Went to book in at 12.50pm, told to wait 15 minutes because of a door lock replacement and check in time isn't until 1.00pm. Then once we booked in, told to come back in an hour so the lock would be fixed. We went away for the hour, came back and we told we had been upgraded to a better room but the lock was still not fixed. Went to our room and the staff member fixed the lock, all good.
Pool was supposed to close at 9.00pm but people were still screaming/laughing in the pool at midnight. Also around that time, we thought we had locked the sliding door but a male opened the door and shone a torch in!!!!! Scared the living daylights out of us.
A lovely place with a nice vibe, but a horrid nights sleep for us. The guy who checked us out was off with the pixies. It would have been better if he was more professional even if it is classed as a backpackers.
- Max (8/5): Nice and clean hostel - My stay at this hostel was very good. Everything was good. Friendly staff and nice and clean room. You can also see few wallabies around the structure. The town is pretty far.
- Dc2Aus (6/5): Beautiful views - We stayed for just an evening. It's rather far from everything else. Bed adequate and fresh towels and linens were provided. Our double room had a refrigerator and a ceiling fan (no a/c or heat, but not needed then). Staff were very friendly. Bathroom facilities were clean and we had no wait. The view was tremendous. Also a nice pool and shared kitchen we didn't use. The Bingil Bay Cafe you will likely pass on the way in serves 5 star food and Gernan beer-- highly recommend for dinner.
- LeCasa (2/5): Very noisy, small hot room. - Stayed one night and never again. People were in the kitchen cooking at 11.30pm making a lot of noise dropping pans, slamming cupboards and fridges even though kitchen closes at 10pm for safety reasons. Staff on the premises did nothing about the noise which resulted in a verbal confrontation.
The room was small and the fan was broken making the room hot and stuffy. We here right next to pool filter which was noisy and ran all night resulting in a sleepless night.
At 5.45am the noise started again with back packers using the kitchen again and dragging furniture around with the noise reverberating around the place.
The Manager in the morning said sorry but ultimately he can't do anything about other people's behaviour. Why have rules if your not going to enforce them. Spend the extra money and stAy somewhere else.
Very disappointing as place looked nice.
- Giuseppe (6/5): - Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice guests (just a bit noisy), all surrendered by a peaceful tropical forest not far from one of the best beach of Australia.
- James (4/5): Poor - There is no air conditioning in this hostel, as it is in the middle of part of the rain forest this is a massive problem, there was also a large amount of bugs in the shared area I.e. Kitchen/lounge. Claim to have free wifi but it doesn't actually load anything. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone.
- Darren (8/5): It is a great hostel - It is located a little out of town with great facilities and set among rain forest - a great place to stay on a budget. The staff are friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed staying here.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We saw a lot of spiders and bugs. They were in the bathrooms and in our room we had one too...
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect for relaxing - This hostel is isolated and therefore perfect for relaxing.
- david (6/5): Hostel not hotel - Nice hostel , good for young people .
- John (8/5): Clean, comfortable, great setting - Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Great setting in the rainforest. Not too noisy. Overall very good.
- Jake (8/5): Basic but beautiful - This is one of the best hostel locations I have ever experienced. It's situated in the rainforest. The room was very basic but comfortable. There was a really chilled vibe about the place.
- Brock (10/5): BEST hostel ever!! - The BEST hostel I have ever stayed in. Very relaxing, extremely well maintained and so picturesque. Can't recommend this place enough, and can't wait to come back. (Note that given it's location expect the Wifi to be slower then you're used to in capital cities obviously!)
- Verified traveler (6/5): you get what you pay for - Its a good hostel but its quite old. So all the facilities in the kitchen / bathroom are that old, that they don't really work anymore but still, a good price for what you get
- Szymon (8/5): perfect backpacker accommodation - Perfect backpacker accommodation in the middle of the tropical forest.
- Jane (10/5): fantastic hostel - Great hostel hidden away and peaceful with a lovely friendly atmosphere, really well organised and looked after.
