Manager was so pleasant. Breakfast was something to look forward to each day. Our room was returned to just like new each day. Conveniently located to the city with lots of great food and coffee shops nearby. Ubers galore within 5 minutes. Highly recommend!
- JB76294 (10/5): Gorgeous place from which to explore another side of Mexico City - This is a beautiful boutique hotel with lovely rooms and furnishings, very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and gave us good tips for places to eat locally. The breakfasts served in the courtyard are really delicious. Our suite (Veracruz) had a partition wall but no door separating the bedroom from the bathroom. We managed it fine, but if that could be a concern, it would be worth clarifying the layout with the staff when booking. The hotel’s location is convenient for the Metro, and Ubers are easily available for trips by car. After spending several days staying in upscale Condesa, we really enjoyed the contrast of being in San Rafael/Santa Maria, which feels more lived-in by regular Chilangos rather than trendy expats. It was nice to see a neighbourhood that was not so gentrified, and still felt a bit rough around the edges without feeling unsafe. Alongside taco stands, markets, cantinas and a lively street life there are also coffee shops and art galleries, as well as the Sunday art market in the park, the impressive Museo del for contemporary art, and the stunning Vasconcelos Library. All this made El Patio 77 a great place to base ourselves.

The location wasn’t Roma or Juarez, but those areas are walkable and you’re well-positioned to use the metro, uber, or bike. I felt safe as a single woman and there was great food nearby.

- Adamec (10/5): - The building is beautiful, and its various airy, green spaces are so welcoming and soothing. The hostess and her staff are all wonderful. Luisa gave us many tips on things to do and the best ways to get around, when to expect traffic, and more. She was a joy to talk to and always wanted to hear about our day. We had the room with two double beds and the windows were tall and filled the room with light, and the beds were very comfortable. It was easy to Uber all around the City Center from here: 15 minutes to Chapultepec, Roma, Polanco, etc. We will be back!!

It’s in a great location for getting around the city without too much traffic. The building itself is beautiful and full of character, and the interior décor shows incredible taste.

- TimothyL1733 (10/5): Five-day stay, highly recommended - We stayed at El Patio for 5 nights this February and loved the experience. We stayed in the Chiapas Suite. Despite being on the first floor, all the sidewalk and street noice is gone by nighttime and noise was never an issue for sleeping. The bathroom included high quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The suite itself was cozy, well-designed, and very comfortable and spacious. The front door to enter is double secured and safety was never a concern. We loved the location, as it was a quick 15-min Uber to Condesa/Roma Norte, while getting to stay in a truly local neighborhood. We walked back from Juarez/Reforma one day also. Good options to eat and get coffee nearby, and we got some great recommendations from the staff. Breakfast was always very good and included fresh fruit, then a different hot dish every morning. The staff was very friendly, professional, and welcoming. We returned to a freshly cleaned room every afternoon, and they were quick to provide extra towels the day we needed them. Highly recommended.

We cannot recommend this property enough. It was in a clean, safe, convenient neighbourhood that was quite and in a great location to get to museums and sites around Mexico City. We walked around the neighborhood and people were friendly, welcoming and we always felt safe. The staff went about and beyond in every way with advice of places to eat, places to go, beautiful breakfasts. We would definitely stay here again when we are able to get back to Mexico City and would recommend anyone visiting to book it.

The breakfasts were delicious, the rooms very clean, (great linens), and comfortable and the staff was so pleasant, patient and always accommodating in every way. Located in a quiet neighborhood, felt very safe and very easy to catch a cab in front of entrance. Walkable to Centro…and the hostess, Elvia, was always so helpful with suggestions on what to do and see and restaurant suggestions close to the hotel. Not a touristy area which I appreciated. Will be back…very welcoming place to stay! And a special thanks to Axel…so helpful! WIFI was occasionally spotty.

They have really good breakfast each day and lots of area to just chill and read. And San Rafael is a great neighbourhood. Our favourite was always coming back after long day and saying hi to Bonito the dog before retiring to our room. We will probably stay here if we visit again. Highly recommend.

A Cidade do México te abraça, me senti segura e me desloquei pela cidade com facilidade. Os dias que fiquei foram poucos para tantas atrações, museus, bairros maravilhosos! Recomendo fortemente a experiência de se hospedarem neste hotel, que fica localizado num bairro fora do circuito habitual e que te trará a experiência da vida cotidiana na cidade. You need to take an Uber to get to Roma Sur or Condesa, as it takes about 30 minutes on foot compared to only 10 minutes by car.

You have to stay here if visiting Mexico City.

Het pand is prachtig binnen, heel charmante binnenkoer, mooie kamers, en iedere morgen een ander, vers klaargemaakt Mexicaans ontbijt die erg lekker was! De locatie is goed om te voet of via Uber de rest van de stad te ontdekken. De badkamer die we deelden had een douche met erg weinig waterdruk, er kwam maar een heel licht straaltje uit, wat niet echt praktisch was. Gelukkig was het water wel warm:)
- Phileas_Flogg (10/5): A perfect boutique hotel in a great location - El Patio is a very well-run, comfortable and conveniently located boutique hotel. Given that my only misgiving about El Patio 77 was the glass bottles that contained the lovely bathroom condiments and the risk they might slip through my fingers in the shower, it follows that am struggling to find fault. The breakfast was simple and served individually from fresh fruit and quality ingredients. The hotel itself is about 10 mins by foot from a metro stop with a direct and quick route into Centro. A great market with a range of sit-down food options is on the route. Would definitely return.

- Julien (10/5): Un hôtel magnifique - Nous avons passé 2 nuits à l'hôtel El Patio 77. L'ancienne bâtisse coloniale est magnifique. Les chambres sont spacieuses et joliment décorées. L'accueil est très chaleureux et l'hôtel sert de bons petits déjeuner qui changent tous les jours. Le quartier est calme mais dispose de quelques resto sympa. L'hôtel est à seulement 5 arrêts de métro du zocalo, mais aux heures de pointe il est presque impossible d'y monter donc ajustez vos horaires.

Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail und wirklich außerordentlich schön gestaltet, wir haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt. It is beautifully designed and just gives you a very calm feeling in such a busy city. While this can also be achieved by other hotels / B&Bs, it is especially its people which makes El Patio 77 so special: everyone is just so authentically heartily and helpful. You can feel that the guests really matter to the staff. All in all, it has been a blast to have been stayed at El Patio 77. Thank you so much! I would 100% stay here again should I return to CDMX!
- Philippe (10/5): Excellent and comfortable place, ideal to explore the city. - We had a lovely stay in Patio 77. Initially, we planned to stay one night only after our long flight from Europe but decided to stay two nights in the end. Elvia was more than welcoming and made sure we had everything for a comfortable stay. She also spared no efforts to recommend places in Mexico City and to help us plan our day. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The bathroom is shared with 3 rooms. That means that during “rush hour” in the morning you may need to wait a little bit before being able to go to the toilet.
- Maps64158202006 (8/5): Lovely Stay with Only Two Small Drawbacks - Such a beautiful property. My best friend and I took breakfast outside in the courtyard everyday and it was splendid. Everyone was so very gracious and generous. Our room - the Guerrero - was decorated lovely. Everyone was so helpful and accomodating. The only two drawbacks to the room were: #1 there is no door to the toilet so anytime someone had to do more than #1 the other person had to leave the room. And #2 there were men standing outside downstairs every day (presumably working) and they had a direct view into the room right where you take a shower so the joy of having the window doors open for light wasn’t possible while showering in the day. The ladies cleaned our room everyday and that was a gift.

Die zentrale Lage in Nähe einer der Metro-Stationen und in einem nicht sehr touristischen Viertel war sehr angenehm.

Super helpful with tips and quick to answer any questions I had, which made everything really easy. I felt very welcome and comfortable the whole time. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Mexico City!

Breakfast was TOP and the whole hotel is just so tastefully decorated. We stayed at the suite downstairs and LOVED IT! The high sealings, the decor, the attention to the detail. 10/10. We felt at home the entire stay and loved that the neighbourhood wasnt your typical touristic one. Very safe as well. Would definitely recommend and will direct our friends and family to this hotel. What truly made my experience special were the people. The manager, Elvia and the hosts were so welcoming, generous with their stories, and always ready with great suggestions that helped me explore the city in the best way. Shoutout to Axel and Bonito! Staying here felt like a warm embrace into Mexico City, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the city’s culture and charm. I would highly recommend El Patio 77 to anyone looking for a stay that’s both inspiring and wholesome!

- Andrew (10/5): A home away from home - My 3rd time in the city and this was my favorite hotel of them all. I've stayed in 5 star hotels in reforma and condesa but yet this place was special. Beautiful design and touches, clean, and friendly staff. This feels like a more local authentic stay. Despite being a bit away from all the touristy neighborhoods, the neighborhood was safe and you can find plenty of good cafes and restaurants.

We picked this place because of the beautiful mix of colonial architecture and vintage-modern interior design—and it turned out to be even better in person. The space has a special charm, with stylish rooms and thoughtful details that make it feel really comfortable and welcoming. Little things stood out, like the sustainable, great-smelling bath products and the delicious fresh breakfast we enjoyed every morning in the peaceful courtyard. Those small touches really made us feel at home. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was Elvia and the whole team. Everyone was so warm and friendly, and Elvia’s fun, genuine energy made us feel like we were staying with friends.

It was next to a lot of food options, general amenities and included a delicious breakfast every morning. It wasn't far from the city center and the hostess was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend.

The hotel staff are all very helpful proving recommendations for the city. Breakfast also provided the opportunity to swap stories with other hotel guests about what they did or were planning to do. I enjoyed that too. There is no air conditioning which wasn’t too bad for me. It might be for others.

Plus it’s so lovely, a perfect combo of classic Mexican colonial and modern aesthetics. Add in the terrific healthy breakfasts and the quiet leafy neighborhood, well they’ve really won us over, we will always check here first when visiting CDMX.

- 484alisont (10/5): Casa en CDMX - Beautifully designed old mansion in a lively neighborhood in Mexico City. Communication with the staff was incredible, while booking months in advance for this 10 day trip. They graciously accommodated dietary needs for breakfast. The food was nutritious and thoughtfully prepared for us each morning. The room and private bathroom were absolutely perfect for our stay. I chose one filled with natural light and on the street side, so we could listen to the sounds of the neighborhood. The location was centrally located to most everything we wanted to experience, with a nice 30min-50min walk. We decided to walk as much as possible to see different neighborhoods. Lots to do right in San Rafael also! The staff at El Patio 77 made us feel right at home. They are wonderful people and I’m so fortunate to have found this place.
