- Naz (1/5): Verschrikkelijk - We hadden geboekt en betaald voor 5 personen, in de verwachting dat we ook daadwerkelijk een kamer met 5 slaapplekken zouden krijgen. Belangrijk om te vermelden is dat dit een van de weinige hotels was waarbij tijdens het boeken duidelijk beschikbaarheid voor 5 personen in één kamer werd weergegeven. We hebben deze maand in meerdere andere hotels verbleven en daar werd altijd een oplossing geboden voor de 5e persoon, zoals een slaapbank of een extra bed. Bij aankomst bleek echter dat er geen slaapmogelijkheid was voor de 5e persoon. Het hotelpersoneel wilde hier niets aan doen en dacht totaal niet mee over een oplossing. We werden simpelweg doorverwezen naar Booking.com. Booking.com heeft ons vervolgens netjes te woord gestaan en meerdere keren geprobeerd te bemiddelen, maar het hotelpersoneel reageerde onbeschoft en kortaf, gaf aan geen oplossing te hebben en zei letterlijk dat we “maar iets anders hadden moeten boeken”. Daarna werden telefoontjes vanuit Booking.com zelfs genegeerd. Daarnaast was het personeel vaak niet aanwezig bij de balie en daardoor moeilijk te vinden wanneer we hulp nodig hadden. Al met al een erg teleurstellende ervaring, vooral door de slechte service en het gebrek aan klantvriendelijkheid vanuit het hotel.

Then I asked a staff member and they said to contact Booking.com. I haven’t seen a way to contact you all except this survey.

- Alice (5/5): I would not stay here again. - Beds were comfortable. Lobby, common areas: not clean. Floors had visible dirt/dust throughout. Looked like staff had not ever dusted or swept behind some areas. Front desk person wore a sweatshirt- no visible Fairfield logo on any clothing. Also, not very welcoming. Seemed understaffed. Breakfast was lacking some basics (no yogurt available).

The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was standard. The hotel parking was convenient. The bed sheet was dirty. It was very noisy throughout the night (road traffic plus city garbage picked up the giant metal bins in the parking lot after midnight! There was a lot of clanging noise)
- Fernando (9/5): Great staff, value and location! - We are Nashville locals and needed a hotel during the recent winter ice storm. The hotel staff was AMAZING. In the middle of an emergency, with people from all over looking for rooms and needing help, they stepped up big. I saw the staff working tirelessly, with flexibility for all guests. Great value for our family--the rooms were large, and the breakfast was great!
- Dawn (10/5): Our stay in Nashville was fantastic and could have been much longer to explore the area more! - Breakfast each day was fresh, good food with a well-stocked good selection to satisfy multiple morning cravings. My paid-in full ahead payment method through booking.com was denied at the hotel and I had to use an alternative payment when check in. I had to call the hotel a week later to settle a double charge to two payment methods for this one stay. It was resolved but it was inconvenient to say the least…and what if I didn’t have another method of payment when it was already paid in full ahead of time.

- saO4560EH (2/5): Nasty Customer Service - The worst experience I have ever had with a member of staff in any establishment. Completely rude, nasty and ignorant receptionist who appeared to be on some sort of power trip. Claimed manager agreed with her, but when the issue was brought to managers attention they had no idea about the situation and were very accommodating. Receptionist either needs training or a new job because customer service is not for her.

- 896wendyj (10/5): Nashville - I was on a 14 day holiday with Riviera Travel to the Deep South USA & Texas and stayed for two nights at the Fairfield Inn Downtown/ The Gulch Nashville, our tour manager was Benita ‘B’ and our driver was Leo they looked after us on this tour, I was pleased to get a lovely comfortable room for my stay, I had everything I needed hairdryer,toiletries,iron and ironing board,safe,tv,tea and coffee making,fridge,microwave,bedside clock,WiFi, good housekeeping throughout the hotel and staff friendly and helpful, the hotel had a lovely roof top bar and restaurant area and good location within walking distance to shops and bars and restaurants and everything going on, breakfast was buffet style which was very nice, we visited the Jack Daniel’s distillery with guide Kathi, country music hall of fame, RCA studio B with guide Graham, Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry and had free time in Nashville, thank you I enjoyed my stay at your hotel, I met up with some wonderful fellow travellers on this trip, being a solo traveller I wanted to share my experience, would definitely recommend this hotel.
- chrisbY6628WN (10/5): Outstanding Customer Service - This hotel is the best Marriott I have ever stayed at, and I am a longtime Marriott Bonvoy member, at one time Platinum, Gold now. The hotel was very clean and well maintained, and the staff were outstanding! Shannon greeted us every evening and offers the BEST customer service. She made us and all the other guests feel like we are family! Shawn was also great, very empathetic and caring. I lost my purse and realized it soon after arriving, he did his best to help reassure me. Thankfully we had an honest Uber driver who brought my purse to me at the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and hope Shannon and Shawn are recognized for their commitment to customer service!

Inadequate cupboard hanging space. Plenty of electric plug points. Safe and fridge in room. Super king sized bed, settee and two large tv screens. Breakfast poor. Paper plates and plastic cutlery never experienced before in other hotels although subsequently experienced it in other US hotels. Limited food offerings. Room is overlooking car park. Stayed two nights. Housekeeping missed our room on one day - unknown policy re infrequent housekeeping. Rated 3.5/5.

- plicktaj (10/5): Above and beyond! - I need to give a huge shout out to staff at the Fairfield - The Gulch! I arrived yesterday early am after an uber mix up when I was supposed to be at an another hotel. My flight got in very early. When I was dealing with uber and the other hotel to see if I could cancel or check in early your front desk staff Doneka was able to adjust and not only find me a room but get me in early so I could change before a work meeting. When I was running out I mentioned the AC seemed wonky. When I was gone Richard and Shawn collaborated and got the whole unit replaced in record time and I came back to a nice cool room at around 630 without having to move. A+ for fixing the issue and being so accommodating. When I got back Shawn tried to help me with the issue with the other hotel - they refuse to let me cancel. He was so pleasant. And when I grabbed breakfast this morning you all had gluten free options - pre packaged muffins. It was a pleasant surprise as I am gluten and dairy free and buffets are hard. I want to send a huge kiddos to all these staff members who went above and beyond and made my stay. Next time I am in Nashville for work I will be sure to stay here. Kudos to Doneka, Richard, Shawn and Camilla :)

- dawnaL5567CW (10/5): An Excellent Weekend Get Away!! - We loved our stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in The Gulch. The location is great. You are in a clean, safe neighborhood that is a short walk to very nice shops and restaurants at every price point. It is also a very quick ride to downtown. We never waited more than 5 minutes for an Uber. Our rooms were ready and very clean upon check in. Nicke, checked us in and was very helpful and friendly. She gave us great suggestions for local dining. We switched our hotel a few weeks ago to this one due to the location and friendliness of the staff when I called to request our three rooms be relatively in the same location, and am so glad that I did. Everyone was very nice. Breakfast was good too. The dining room was very clean and the coffee was great. They even had gluten free options which was nice touch. It's a busy hotel but you feel very safe and it's clean. My kids used the gym and liked that too. Loved our stay and would return for sure. No issues.

- Resort819132 (10/5): Great Stay for a Girls’ Overnight Getaway! - It was just a quick overnight stay but it was awesome. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and in a great location. The very best part was the desk clerk, Nikki (did I spell it right?). She was so upbeat, friendly, and helpful. I hope her manager knows what an incredible asset she is. Her attitude and professionalism could easily see her as a Concierge at a very upscale hotel. My room was very clean and comfortable. So comfortable that I’ll be ordering some of the down pillows! It was also a well designed space - I love that the “desk” is an rollable table to provide greater functionality, perfect IMO for business travel. Or even for someone who wants to eat in their room but doesn’t want to do it facing a wall. When I go to Nashville again I will absolutely be willing to stay here again!

- kerryhW733XP (8/5): Average - This hotel is just an average hotel. Nothing fancy. There was a fee of $35 added to the bill to park there. I’m not sure I remember seeing that when I booked. I requested lower floor on reservation, at check in she gave me 4th floor. I then asked if they had a low floor like I requested and she did put me on 2nd floor. But why did I even have to ask? The room was nice but lacked cleaning. The garbage cans hadn’t been emptied and there was one washcloth. When I requested more they did bring them right away. Very minor things but cannot rate 5 star unless it’s complete 5 star accommodation and service. We only stayed one night and did not use any of the amenities. the room was quiet and stayed very cool with a quiet air conditioner. If I had to stay in Nashville again, I would stay here again.

- Renee F (10/5): - Great property with a really good price compared to all the other area hotels. There was road construction in the area, but that did not effect us. We were within 1 mile of the Bridgestone Arena where we went for an event. Pretty close to everything and walkable for us. The hotel staff was super friendly. This is a really nice property that charges much less for parking than the other hotels. As with pretty much hotel I've ever been in, there was hair on the floor and in the sink in the bathroom. The shower was by far the best hotel shower I've ever been in. Roomy shower with lots of shelf space for your products, but there are products in pumps on the wall provided if you want to use those. The water pressure was absolutely amazing. If ever in the Nashville area, stay here and save money.

- deanna (4/5): Definitely not choosing again - Terrible stay for a variety of reasons. Definitely not up to par with what I'd expect from a Marriott property. Staff were very friendly and prompt, however, that was the only good thing. Food on the rooftop restaurant was terrible--cheap quality frozen bagged chicken and bread. The room needed full updating. Only minimally clean, fabric on boxspring was worn and had holes, mattress had a large, body sized dip in it, making you sleep in a hole. Linen and pillows need replacement. TV did not work--only had a Netflix account from a random person named Linda and no way to reset. No other channel or app options. Walls are thin with plenty of noise around. Location is full of construction and not overly walkable to selection of food or shops.

So, we only ate there the first morning. Housekeeping didn't change our towels when we requested. We had to called the front desk the next morning for clean towels.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Look at your room before you settle in! - We got our first room and the air conditioner was on and making a loud noise. They put us in another room that seemed dirty. The bathroom glass shower door would not close and had previously been broken. It looked liked it had been glued with super glue. The ceiling in the bathrooms paint was peeling. The coffeemaker lid was missing as well. Just seemed like it needed a lot of repairs. My husband and I wanted them to light the gas fireplace on the patio and were told there was no remote. The outdoor area looked very dirty and not well kept. Overall, the staff was very nice.

- Coddynyc1 (8/5): Put you close to the action - We recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown/The Gulch and had a great experience. The location is close enough to downtown to make it convenient, but far enough from the honky tonks to give you some peace. It is steps away from the Gulch with all the shopping, food, and nightlife as well. The rooms were standard, clean, and beds were comfortable with enough space to relax and work. The complimentary WiFi was reliable, and the free hot breakfast each morning was a great start to the day. Like many hotels in Nashville, it has a rooftop bar, UP. Unfortunately, we weren't able to take in the offering due to our schedule. Overall, we can recommend the Fairfield Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown/The Gulch for business or pleasure as it gets the job done, without breaking the bank.. Only 4 stars because the front desk on that day was disconnected and pay more attention on his conversation with his friend and the game he was playing on the phone.

Jeremy Haynes, at the front desk, was extremely helpful to us and we really appreciated him going above and beyond. Great work!
