- X2316SIkareng (10/5): We've been 3 times and every time it gets better - I highly recommend Hyatt Ziva in PV!! We have been 3 times! My husband and I first went at the end of 2015, we then returned with our 2-year-old and additional family members in 2022, and then just went again in April 2026 with our now 6-year-old and 1-year-old and extended family. We have been very impressed with the changes and upgrades that have been made over the past 10 years, which have enhanced our experience. This year we took full advantage of the Kids club - our son and two nephews (ages 4-6) enjoyed making pizza, sand castle building on the beach, and a special camp night which involved dinner, s'mores, and a movie on the beach. We love the addition of the poolside cabanas, the smoothie/ceviche/crepe bar (Fresco), and the Teppanyaki table at Tamari! The staff are excellent and the daily activities and entertainment are a great addition. We also love the exclusive beach and you can easily switch between the pool and ocean. This is definitely a more active/lively all-inclusive resort so if you are looking for a quiet, adult-only experience, this is probably not what you are looking for.

- J5648VUchristinem (10/5): An extraordinary vacation at an extraordinary resort! - This was our 2nd time to this beautiful property (last time was ~ 15yrs ago when it was a Dreams resort). Good food for an all-inclusive. You can also purchase upgrades for specialty items, which provide better dining options. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. One in particular, José, was beyond a doubt the most extraordinary staff member I have ever encountered. One time when we were eating at Blaze, the sun was bothering my daughter's sunburn, and he graciously stood blocking the sun until duty called him elsewhere! He also impressed us with his wine selections and providing small extras during our dinners there. We will definitely seek him out when we return!

The beach was beautiful, the food was excellent with something for everyone, and our girls had an absolute blast. But what truly stood out was the incredible hospitality—I’ve honestly never experienced service like that. Every staff member went out of their way to make us feel special. We can’t wait to go back!

I rented a Cabana in front of the beach - it was heaven. The bar staff was super attentive, fast and hilarious. The pools were nice - they had an adults only section pool - you could see the ocean from it. Was relaxing. Food was decent, I enjoyed the coffee bar. Drinks were yummy - I highly recommend the Passion fruit margaritas! The best part tho was the private beach - the sand was so nice - water was so warm and the waves weren’t too crazy - probably the best beach I’ve swam in PV. There was huge pelicans on the rocks chilling which was cool too. I definitely be back next time I’m in PV! Thank you for the lovely day!!!

We were able to set up a ride by Amstar through the resort which was super safe and easy. The resort is located in a little cove so it’s a private beach, no one that isn’t staying at the resort can get in or on the beach which makes if feel super private. The pools were amazing and there was lots of space for all. Family resort but there was an adult pool and quiet pool so can escape it if you’d like. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean and updated and the restaurants were amazing! We were so happy with our stay and our wedding week was amazing!!

Amalia in the spa gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had in my life—no exaggeration. She was so kind, so professional, and just has a gift for what she does. I walked out of there feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. Isaiah on the beach was such a bright spot every single day. He was so friendly, upbeat, and full of energy—it’s like he genuinely loves what he does, and it shows. He made our beach time even more fun and memorable. And Mario at the Italian restaurant…wow. He truly went above and beyond for us. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel taken care of and special. His recommendations were spot on, and his service was just exceptional. It’s the little things—and the people—that make a place unforgettable, and this trip was full of both. We feel so thankful for the experience and can’t wait to come back someday.

This was my third time staying at this property. Before this trip, my wife and I had even talked about buying a timeshare here because we enjoyed our previous two visits so much. We were confident enough in our past experiences that we even convinced family friends to come along with us this time. Unfortunately, this visit was not as good as the previous ones. The drink selection felt limited. I enjoy Mexican beers, but only Dos Equis was available. The food overall was much saltier than before, and the service did not feel as attentive as it had on our earlier visits. I do not know whether this is due to cost-cutting or simply a general decline in service, but this experience made us withdraw our thoughts about buying a timeshare at this location. In fact, we even started talking about trying other destinations, such as Punta Cana, for our next vacation. There were also some other issues that stood out. The pool water appeared too milky, and there were not enough towels available at times. That said, the hotel itself was still nice and clean, and we did have a good time overall. It was just disappointing compared with the high standard set by our previous stays

- Seaside16903339692 (10/5): Consistency keeps us coming back! - One of the things we love most about Hyatt Ziva is the consistency - the food is always good, the service is amazing, and the pools and view are what we need on vacation. This trip, Fernando and Jose (sexy waiter) were unbelievably attentive at the relax pool - we never went without and they took the time to get my husband a cake for his 50th poolside. The spa gives a great massage, the gym has everything you need for a good workout. We’ll be back next year! Oh, and Diego - he helped us secure spa times and cabanas and was always welcoming with a smile every day! We’ve been there almost annually (minus pandemic 2020) since 2015.

- TravelfigsatC1175MO (6/5): Great beach, but falls short everywhere else - We recently stayed at the Hyatt Ziva in PV and, overall, I’d rate it closer to a three-star. Cleanliness wasn’t great, nothing terrible, but definitely below what you’d expect from a Hyatt. The food was fine overall, nothing special, but the Italian restaurant was actually really good and a standout. Shoutout to the staff for great service in this restaurant! The pools were a big letdown. They’re small, not very well maintained, and get crowded fast. The cabana situation is also frustrating—you basically need to pay for a cabana to enjoy being poolside, but they’re almost always sold out. The club lounge didn’t feel exclusive but we still enjoyed it plenty! Worth the upgrade in my opinion. Overall, the vibe just wasn’t my jam—it lacks the polish and feel of a higher-end resort. The beach, though, is amazing. Easily the best part of the whole property. If you’ve stayed at a really good all-inclusive before, this one just doesn’t compare. It feels pretty low-end for a Hyatt.
- ninac909 (10/5): Wonderful stay - We just returned from a beautiful vacation at this hotel, and overall our stay was very nice. The highlight for us was definitely the beach and the sea — absolutely the best part of the property. The check-in process was smooth and very accommodating to our needs. A special thank you to Luis at the front desk and Gabriela, the manager, who assisted us with the cabana rental. We stayed in the regular section (not the club level) and honestly didn’t feel like we needed an upgrade. The cabana rentals are heavily advertised, but for our needs, they weren’t really worth it. We booked one for two days. While we received great service from Israel and David — who were very attentive, especially with the kids and their drinks (they loved the coconut drinks!) — the cabana itself got too hot and sunny. I had to cover it to create more shade, and the kids only used it briefly. The cabana menu was mostly fried snacks and sandwiches, so if you’re looking for healthier options, the buffet is a much better choice. Cesar, the cook at the buffet, prepared fresh grilled fish and steak for us daily — exactly what we were looking for, and it was always delicious. The buffet service was also excellent. Hector, Angel, Soledad, Sandra, and the rest of the staff were very hardworking, constantly moving and making sure everyone was served quickly and efficiently. We really enjoyed all the restaurants, but surprisingly, our favorite was the Mexican restaurant. Even though we don’t usually eat Mexican food, the experience there was excellent. The service was very personalized, and Joel and Edy made sure we were very well taken care of. The grounds were very clean and beautifully maintained. One thing we really appreciated was the pool towel service — the towels were thick, high quality, and available without needing cards or worrying about limits, which made things much easier when traveling with kids. We also loved the smoothie station, especially the fresh papaya smoothies we enjoyed daily. Our room was cleaned every day and kept in great condition. The kids used the kids’ club a few times — there were some nice activities like cooking classes and sandcastle building, although many activities were indoors, so we didn’t use it as much. The staff there were very kind and responsible. I especially appreciated that when I allowed my daughter to come back on her own, they made sure she was safely taken care of and escort her to our sun bed . Overall, a very enjoyable stay with excellent service, beautiful surroundings, and a fantastic beach experience.

Lots of food options, some were hit or miss but overall enjoyed the diversity of options. Blaze is right on the water with amazing sunset views for dinner and morning breakfast. Highlights is a nice mid day lunch bar with great drinks. Alondra and Saira provided A+ service. Beach service was quick and cabana rental was worth the extra money. Overall would highly recommend and will definitely visit again in the future.
- scotthU2452GG (2/5): Paid for an Upgrade, Received a Maintenance Project - We originally booked a nine night swim out room through WestJet Vacations. Upon check in, due to low resort occupancy, we were offered an upgrade to a Penthouse Suite for the duration of our stay at an additional cost of MXN 31,778 (approximately CAD $2,500). Based on Hyatt’s reputation and the premium nature of the accommodation, we accepted the offer in good faith. While the ocean view from the Penthouse Suite was undeniably spectacular, the condition of the suite itself fell significantly below expectations and was inconsistent with both the cost of the upgrade and Hyatt’s five star positioning. Throughout our stay, we encountered the following maintenance and cleanliness deficiencies: • Toilet paper holder separating from the wall • Shower wand non functional • Tiles detaching from the plunge pool • Patio furniture cushions severely faded and deteriorating • Patio concrete structure visibly stained and worn Individually, these items were disappointing; collectively, they pointed to a suite in need of substantial maintenance and capital reinvestment rather than one being marketed as a premium accommodation. Most concerning, however, was a persistent and extremely unpleasant odor in the lower level of the suite. The odor was severe enough that we often felt compelled to move quickly through the area to reach the bedroom level, detracting materially from our comfort and enjoyment. This issue alone rendered the lower living space largely unusable and is not something one would reasonably expect at any Hyatt property, let alone in a Penthouse Suite. In addition, food service follow through was inconsistent. On multiple occasions, dinner dishes left in the hallway overnight were still present the following morning—an experience inconsistent with industry standards and the elevated guest experience Hyatt is known for. At checkout, we raised these concerns with the front desk. Unfortunately, the response lacked urgency or ownership, and the only remedy proposed was a nominal offer of Hyatt Points. We clearly communicated that points would not be an appropriate resolution given the nature of the issues and the additional cash expenditure incurred for the upgrade. We were advised that a follow up email containing a compensation proposal would be sent; however, this communication was never received. I would like to emphasize that the staff, dining experiences, and beach offerings were outstanding, and the service provided by your frontline team was warm, professional, and genuinely appreciated. That said, guest rooms—particularly those carrying premium upgrade pricing—are a core component of the overall guest experience. At present, based on our stay, the Penthouse Suite condition aligns more closely with a three star standard or below, rather than the five star experience associated with the Hyatt Ziva brand.

The only issue we had was the food. The service was very slow in the specialty restaurants, we received incorrect or missing dishes, and the food was always cold and often bland. This may be due to fewer staff working with regard to the situation in PV two weeks prior. The buffet was great, but not open at night. The only restaurant we enjoyed was the Italian one, but again, the food was cold. The pools are extremely clean - everything at the resort is super clean. The daily entertainment and shows were awesome. Room service food and cabana food was also tasty and hot. If anyone has any food allergies, BE CAREFUL at the buffet. Our son ingested peanuts in a chicken dish at the buffet and lost out on two days of his vacation due to illness. There was no indication that peanuts were in the dish.

Our family of 8 adults had a truly memorable and wonderful time. The temperature in March was perfect, not too hot and not too humid.

My spouse and I took our three boys (aged 18, 14, and 11) for a 7 night stay here, and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. The food, the staff, the drinks, the restaurants... all of it was fantastic. The star above the rest, here, is almost certainly the exclusivity. Hyatt Ziva is situated in a very private cove, with a "private" beach that, while technically accessible to the public, is for all intents and purposes exclusive to hotel guests. Beyond that, we were impressed with the facilities and accommodations across the board. - Our rooms in the Club Tower were fantastic, well kept and spacious. - The food exceeded our expectations across the board (save, perhaps, for room service, which, while promptly delivered, was pretty pedestrian at best). - The facilities were beautiful and well kept. - The staff was all outrageously friendly and accommodating. - The variety of restaurants and bars was outstanding, as well. Special shoutout to the Sports Bar, where one of my boys and I enjoyed three of the WBC games on the big screen. - We tried 4 of the 5 restaurants (we skipped the Italian restaurant). The Buffet was fantastic and kept us well fed with solid food. The standout, however, is Blaze, with amazing views, fantastic staff, a nicely curated menu, and surprisingly high quality dining experience. - The beach is wonderful, with a ton of space. It's well maintained and monitored. My boys enjoyed their time in the ocean everyday. - Worth noting that my son and I brought our baseball gloves to play catch, which we did every day on the beach. There absolutely was plenty of space to stretch out and throw. I'm sure there are some other world class resorts out there that might offer a bit more (for a price), but given the price point, the location, the staff, and the exclusivity, Hyatt Ziva has found a place on our very short list of regular places we intend to visit again in the future. We can't wait to go back!

Tons of activities and events are set up by the staff if you're going with the family or if you just want to have some fun and take part in pool workouts, pingpong competitions, or just watching a dance or talent show. I went with my partner to get some time to relax and i can positively say that if you want to sit back and just relax this is a top tier spot for that exactly.

- 367carolj (8/5): Great visit to Hyatt Ziva, Puerto Vallarta - Extensive private beach. We stayed in the Club tower and spent most of our time in the adults only pool area. Bar service in this area is excellent. Our 4th floor Oceanview King Club room was spacious. We loved being able to sleep with the balcony doors open listening to the surf. We used Uber to go into PV ($6 including tip). Specialty restaurant food is excellent with a choice of Japanese, Italian, Mexican, and Seafood. Not all restaurants are open every night - check with the concierge when they're open to plan your options. The buffet is not usually open at dinner except for a Mexican themed evening. We used room service for breakfast which was delivered in 10-15minutes - great service. The coffee shop has excellent pastries, sandwiches and coffees for light snacks during the day and the Club lounge has a small buffet available also throughout the day. Food can also be ordered from the pool bars from their limited menu.

We almost canceled the trip due to events everyone saw on the news, but SO glad we didn't! Not only would we have missed our good friend's wedding, we would have missed out on the most fun and relaxing vacation of all time! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt safe and secure. They also catered to our every need and provided service that was second to none! They even let us pay them a little extra to throw our group an unscheduled foam party in the adult pool! Thank you Jocelyn, Karo, Leo, Scarlett, and Denise! And the bartenders.....I can't say enough about them! They never let us go empty-handed. Thank you Lucas, Jose, Armando, and Orlando! The hotel was very well maintained and the flowers were blooming and beautiful during our stay. All of the staff were so wonderful and made us feel very welcome! Shout out to Israel, Adrian, Natalio - the BEST bartender!, and Daniel for taking care of us at the bar and the pool side! Also, shout out to Carolina and Jenny with activities for hosting the Best Bartender contest and having the water classes! The food was excellent for an all-inclusive. I do wish there was a bit more lunch that was more accessible from the pool. That being said, the ceviche and poke bowl stand was very tasty! Having a sunset meal at Blaze is a must as well as a breakfast! We were treated to 3 whales in front of Blaze for our breakfast. We also saw whales swim right past our resort at least 3 of the days which was amazing! The waves were too big for us to get in the water but the sand was very nice for walking on. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will be back again!
- cdonabedian (6/5): Ziva's password for the WiFi - Iloveziva - well no, I sure didn't :( - I attended a wedding here and served as the officiant, which gave me a perspective from both the guest side and behind the scenes with the couple and their families. From the outside, the wedding looked beautiful. The location is lovely and the event itself appeared polished to most guests. But there were several operational issues that kept the experience from feeling anywhere close to a five-star resort. The biggest issue was access to the property for non-hotel guests. I was staying at a nearby condo about 1.5 km away and had to drive in for the rehearsal and wedding events. Each visit turned into a frustrating ordeal at the front gate. On my first arrival I spent about 45 minutes while security tried to figure out how to let me in. Several guards spoke little or no English, which is surprising for a major international resort. Eventually we learned the only option was to buy a $105 USD day pass per person just to attend the rehearsal — even though the wedding itself was a large prepaid event at the resort. For the wedding day I was told my access would be handled, but I was still held at the gate again while staff tried to sort it out and still had to pay for two day passes. When you’re officiating a ceremony, sitting at a gate arguing about access is not exactly the experience anyone expects. The ceremony itself was set up nicely on the beach, but the trellis area had no shade at all, leaving the couple and attendees standing or sitting directly in the sun in roughly 85-degree heat. A small canopy or shade element would have made a huge difference. After the ceremony we gathered at a nearby bar area for the after-party. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating was extremely sticky — the wicker chairs felt like they hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. With limited seating available, guests were either standing or trying to avoid touching the furniture. To be fair, the resort grounds are attractive and the staff were generally polite. Nothing about the service was rude. But the combination of poor gate logistics, expensive day passes for wedding participants, lack of shade planning for the ceremony, and cleanliness issues at the bar area made the experience feel disorganized for a property that markets itself as a luxury destination. Overall it was still a nice wedding and the setting is beautiful, but operational details matter — especially when significant money is being spent on events at the resort.

- rwedmann (10/5): Great Resort/ Better Staff - We were at the Ziva from Feb 21 - 28, 2026. Our stay was amazing. The staff was incredible. We had some challenges with the cartel uprising that went on when one of the leaders was taken out on Feb 22nd. We could see the huge plumes of black smoke from the burning vehicle a couple of miles away. The staff was very calm and asked us to please go inside the resort. We were allowed back out to the pool/beach within one hour. We were part of the shelter in place order for 3 days. The staff that was at the resort did a great job of taking care of everyone. Considering all public transportation was shut down for a few days, the staff had to work multiple shifts and sleep at the resort. They all did so with tremendous attitudes. I want to commend Adrian who worked all day at the pool then another shift that night at the restaurant. Also want to compliment Jose for his amazing service. The only disappointment was that during the shelter in place order, the only restaurant option was the buffet. But all things considered, we understood why.

The beach is essentially private, so it just guests of the hotel which is really great. The food at the buffet for breakfast and lunch was absolutely wonderful. Dinner at specialty restaurants was also astoundingly tasty. But what takes the cake is the staff. This was perhaps the best customer service at a resort we have experienced. Everyone showed such a desire to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. We started to get recognized at our usual sport which made us feel great. They truly go above and beyond for their guests. This was our 6th all inclusive trip at different resorts, and I am at a loss of words to explain how great the staff was.

The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and the food was incredible from start to finish. We met so many wonderful people and truly had a lovely, memorable time. A special shout-out to Joshua, our bartender, and Israel, our server. They were absolutely wonderful at their jobs and made our experience even more special with their kindness and great service. This resort truly felt like a home away from home, and we will definitely be coming back!
- 610benn (10/5): First time in Mexico/First time at all-inclusive resort - This was our first time traveling to Mexico and also first time at an all inclusive hotel. If you want to have a good time in Puerto Vallarta, I would defintely recommend the Hyatt Ziva. From the moment we got there we were greeted and welcomed by staff. Staff welcome us by saying, "welcome to your home" which was interesting but when we left we understood why they say that when you arrive. It truly felt like we were at home. Staff were great and were alwasy very friendly, professional and helpful. Food and drinks were in abundance. we really enjoyed the pizza offered at the Italian restaurant during lunch hours. I think we ate pizza everyday. The buffet was good enough to grab something to eat and we made sure to eat at all the restaurants on property. Each had its own charm. Wait times were not too long. If you donʻt want to wait in line, go early to dinner. But if you have to wait, the longest wait time we had was 30 minutes at Blaze since we got a late start. We waited for about 15 minutes at the mexican restaurant but were able to have drinks at the bar until our table was ready. We got to know some of the staff well. A few of them gave us some small gifts when we left which was very thoughtful. Lastly, the spa was great. We spent 5 of our 6 day staff at the spa. Truly a memorable experience. Again this was our first time at an all inclusive so not sure how it stacks up against other hotels that offer the same but we had a great time at Hyatt Ziva.

- Jeskaehler (10/5): swimup room fan - This place exceeded our expectations! We were in a swimup room and if you are looking for a fun and relaxing vacation, I highly recommend that. The view from your pool and patio are unbelievable. We could listen to the waves and watch the whales right from our room! Adrian at the beach bar was top notch delivering us drinks the entire time we were in our swimup and we met some fun and amazing couples staying there, too, and had a blast. It was a smaller resort, which we really appreciated, and nothing is a far walk. I cannot wait to go back!

Georgina got us all set up in advance with cabana and spa reservations. Jose, Adrian, and Fernando were the staff on the beach and kept our cabanas well stocked and made sure we had all the drinks we wanted. Our friend group has made this trip a tradition and we are already looking forward to next year
- dunnrn (10/5): Amazing Winter Escape - My husband and I stayed for 9 nights in the main tower Presidential room. Head concierge Beatriz was so helpful coordinating the details of our trip ahead of time and made sure everything was perfect during our stay. This included making sure our private pool was the perfect temperature to cool off and adding an additional umbrella to protect us from the sun. Jorge and Gabriella added some custom touches that made us feel heard and special. Our housekeeper, also Beatriz, was attentive and respectful. We loved lunch and dinner at Blaze, what an amazing view. We also had wonderful meals at the Italian and Asian restaurants. We really enjoyed the service at the club bar as well. Concierge Rodrigo greeted us daily with a smile. An easy cab ride to town. Whale watching from our room. We are looking forward to returning this summer.

Special mention to Javier for engaging in entertainment and fitness related activities. We have been to Hyatt Ziva Cancun and compared to that resort, food options and restaurants seemed little less. Keep your expectations low when compared to Ziva in Cancun.
- PhillyViajera (10/5): Fabulous long weekend in PV - Went for the Big Day Planning prior to our wedding in April. We had a great time! This was my fourth time to Puerta Vallarta, first time at Hyatt Ziva. Loved how private the resort is, i.e. you cannot walk there along the beach from other resorts. They upgraded us to the swim up club king - which meant we could get service from the waitstaff at the Tortuga Bar from the swim up pool! Joshua was a standout as was Jose Luis who took great care of us. Dinner at Blaze was our favorite. The buffet for breakfast and dinner had pretty much anything we could think of, including bloody Mary, mimosa, and margarita bars. The food was all around really good. The pools and beaches were very nice and not too crowded. We can't wait to come back with our friends and family for our wedding!

The food was delicious with plenty of variety, and the service was truly exceptional, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The location is unbeatable, tucked into a beautiful cove that feels peaceful and private. One of our favorite parts was the private beach. It was calm and never overcrowded, making it easy to relax and fully enjoy the surroundings. The pools were equally lovely, clean, and inviting, with stunning views all around. The rooms were amazing as well, spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Having a private balcony was such a highlight and made our mornings and evenings extra special. Overall, this resort offers the perfect combination of relaxation, comfort, and top-notch service. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely return in a heartbeat 🌴☀️

Helps you get started and sometime with the waves you definitely need that. Hector in buffet is the best! Erik in Blaze took great careof us. Just all around great service and food. Tamari was new for us and really enjoyed the food and service from Daniel.
- JanouJ (10/5): 3rd Time is a Charm! - Yes, we've been coming here for 30 years under three different corporations. 1st in 1996 (Camino Real), 2nd in 2010 (Dreams Resort), 3rd in 2025 (Hyatt Ziva). The Hyatt provided the best experience. LOCATION About 30 minutes from the airport and $30 taxi if hotel transport is not included. Getting a rental car is not a good idea. Why? (1) There is an additional 30-35% required country insurance tax. (2) Ubers (~$2.50 to $7) and Taxis ($7) to downtown are much easier. ATMOSPHERE Very spacious and relaxing with daily pool, beach and evening entertainment. Being there at the holidays, the lobby and public areas were beautifully decorated. Even Santa arrived by JetSki. The landscaping team does an incredible job manicuring, thinning, and maintaining all of the beds and grounds. I can't remember seeing a weed. Maintenance is out and about painting walls and making repairs. ROOMS 1. Principal Tower rooms have more afternoon sun, a bit noisier with children and the entertainment next door. There are 12 swim up rooms with chairs in the water - looks nice. 2. Club Tower has a separate 10-stool bar and buffet area (stocked with coffee, tea, soda & 8 hot/8 cold items for breakfast, lunch & dinner). According to the site, children were not to be on our floor with the swim up rooms, but we had a couple days of crying and screaming next door and above us. 3. Bedroom: spacious with great A/C, about 7 drawers, ok bed with body divets, foam pillows, huge TV with mostly Spanish channels, stocked Nespresso coffee, water, soda, beer, chips and cookies servi-bar, ice bucket (ice at end of hall). There are 8 USB-A & 110V ports in the room but they did not work with our USB-A to USB-C charging cables for our USB-C devices. Even when We used the 110V/USB-C chargers, the outlets did not work (must be a voltage issue). However the clock-radio does have 2 USB-A ports on it which did charge our devices. 4. Bathroom: consistent water pressure and temperature, Bigelow amenities, 2 big sinks, shower with wand and overhead, was dark but maintenance replaced 2 dying bulbs quickly, separate toilet area, large wardrobe closet and shelves, safe, iron, and ~12 hangers are in the bathroom area 5. Patio: first floor has about 8 rooms in the club with a 4' deep swim up pool which is great for laps; one table, 2 chairs, a deep chair, 2 pool lounges and an umbrella. The sun starts to reach the first floor of the club about 3:30 pm. 6. Recommendation - the swim up rooms overlooking the bay, in the Club Ocean building are so nice; we even got to see breaching whales from our patio. CLEANLINESS Our housekeeper arrived at our requested time almost every day. Everything was restocked and cleaned very well. NOISE LEVEL There really is no 'adult area' on resort. Even the 'adult-only' pool by the club tower has frequent parents bringing their children. The only other noise was the super New Year's Eve party, but even that stopped promptly at 1 am. SERVICE 1. Pre-departure email to our home was nice. We made two requests. One of the two requests were made; however, the second was remedied within 30 minutes of checking in 2. Check-in is super quick whether you are in the principal tower main lobby or the club tower with a separate check-in area RESTAURANTS - in order of preference Attire - most guests follow restaurant attire suggestions of having sleeves, no wet clothes, covered feet, but this is not strictly enforced 1. Blaze - on the point, ocean front setting, the seating/service for breakfast and dinner was much better than lunch. Favorites: tuna, filet, rib eye, clam chowder and Keoke coffees flamed table side with ice cream 2. Vivaz - amazing service - main buffet with seafood, Asian, Mexican, ceviches, cooked-to-order stations. If you can't find what you like to eat there, I'd be surprised. 3. Tamari - Asian, with quick seat/serve. Favorites: Ebbi roll, chicken satay, Gyudon bowl, teppanyaki 4. Melazane - Italian with quick seat/serve. Favorites: carpaccio, shrimp-octopus tempura, penne/tomato sauce and sea bass 5. Casa Grande - Mexican had the slowest seating and least favorite food. We only went there once. 6. Others - Highlightz sports bar with bar food, Ceviche/evening Crêpe Station by pool. 7. Deli - Coffee Bar/lounge with Starbucks-like drinks made to order and some pastries and candy bar. BARS - There are 3 pool/beach bars that are open from 10 am to 6 pm. Each restaurant has a bar open for lunch & dinner. The Club Ocean tower has it's own bar in the lobby which is open from 8 am to Midnight. (however, it may be for Club Ocean guests only). AMENITIES POOLS Many pool options with and without sun seating, some have bars - some do not, one claims to be adult - most have children. Towels are plentiful and the 'saving' chairs game happens here. HOWEVER, the beach servers are more than willing to give you a 'saved' chair if they have not seen anyone there for a while. The hotel has the 60-minute max chair "reserves the right to remove" rule...not really followed at pools...just beach. GYM and SPA Both are excellent offering all the gym equipment from my hometown gym and an array of spa services. Gym opens at 6. All equipment was functioning properly; there is a personal trainer available. The three spa services we had were worth it! BEACH North End Turtle egg nesting area, hatchery and occasional baby-turtle release days
- stevedP4223ZK (10/5): Favorite Resort in Puerto Vallarta! - Vacationed here for a friends wedding, and initially was a bit hesitant, as we usually only stay at adults only resorts. Our time here was absolutely fabulous though. They do a fantastic job of catering to families and couples without kids, and would definitely come back. We had a couple issues with our neighbors, and the managerial staff was on it immediately and checked up on us daily to make sure our stay was great. Food was very good and great selection of restaurants. And probably the best beach access of any resort we have been to!

Housekeeper (Somilee?) did a great job. Weight room is well equipped. Yoga instructor (Brenda) was great. J.C. at concierge was helpful. Bed was comfortable. Negatives: Do not come to this resort for serenity, it is Very noisy all day and all night. 4 weddings and other group events happened during our 10 day stay with Loud thumping music that went on for hours and then more partying in rooms into the next day. The resort also plays loud music in the restaurants and on the beach. There's no place to go that is quiet and peaceful. Food was mediocre at most of the restaurants and I was sick with food poisoning after eating dinner one evening which ruined the next couple of days. Elevators not working properly. Overall: Too noisy, mediocre food, nice staff.
- coyanc (8/5): Trip #3 for us - We had a great trip at the hotel for a week's stay. Food has improved and overall the staff is friendly and we had a great time. We rented a cabana most days we were there and would highly recommend them for families with small children. It made it so easy to be by the pool but have breaks from the sun and be able to order food/drinks pool side. David, Alex and Ivan were so attentive when we had the cabanas and we really appreciated them. We had Jose for one day of cabana rentals and he ruined it for us honestly. He needs more training between his foul language in front of the kids and him treating the women in the group disrespectfully and favoring the men. Abinoam was very friendly and made great drinks. Karolyn and the entertainment team were great and friendly. We just wished the activities were more hyped up and better communicated as to when and where they were happening. But when we did join they always made it fun. Cecilia was very friendly at the coffee shop and smoothie station. Overall we had a great time and plan to be back!
- 887merylw (2/5): Theft, screaming children and basic amenities at a premium cost - I went here for a wedding and am fairly confident my jewelry was stolen from our room. I had hoped maybe I didn’t bring it with me but after tossing the room and unpacking everything and checking at home I can confirm it is gone. I have reached out to the resort but haven’t heard back. My luggage was carryon so I know it wasn’t taken at the airport. Our room was also dated and we never had enough towels or water. The room was damp and humid and AC did not work well. Elevators were constantly broken and food was subpar. This place is marketed as a 5 star resort but it is far from it. There are also children EVERYWHERE. while family friendly resorts are fine, there is really limited space for adults only here which was very disappointing.
- missacolia (8/5): Family trip - My favorite part is Amalia at the spa-she’s amazing and I went to see her Twice for incredible massages on the trip. The hot stone was very very good-and she is very intuitive as a massage therapist. As a spa owner, i appreciate her skills even more. Dinners were all surprisingly really pretty great. Staff is friendly and kind. Tips are very appreciated. Cabana is a great idea we did it all days-#17 and Ivan and . Fermin are so kind and remembered our preferences day by day and had it ready when we arrived. Beach is small for walking but private. Lots of families. Skip the jacuzzi suite it’s a little underwhelming-just the normal jr suite is great. Club tower has great views of beach entertainment and Tony in the bar was also a highlight
- KirkJMcManus (10/5): Fantastic and Relaxing Vacation at the Hyatt Ziva - Just had an outstanding stay at the Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. Went with 4 family memembers (2 older daughters) and had an amazing time. The food was fantastic and this is the first All-Inclusive where you weren't limited on the number of visits to the associated 'fancy' restaurants. The food at the buffet and the restaurants was fantastic, and we particularly liked the Italian (Melanzine) and grill (Blaze) restaurants. Huge "Thank-you" goes out to Israel, the awesome server on the beach who took care of us throughout the trip and brought us a long list of fantastic drinks! We even got to see some whales from the beach! The girls loved the beach volleyball which happens virtually everyday at 11am and 4pm, but there are also some games in between. The resort is fantastic and only a ~100-150 pesos taxi ride into PV. All staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic vacation... thank you!!
- haosongcmu (2/5): Been There, Done That - If Hyatt Ziva Cancun turns you on, this will turn you off. You start questioning whether Ziva hold the same bar across the brand. As an explorist for Hyatt, there were special concierge room for checkin. But that’s it. They didn’t even help me complete the checkin since I arrived early. I had to go to the general checkin desk to finish checkin since those concierge staff left later. Their manager promised a wine for us because of our status but never delivered at all. Food: They are okay but not great. If you arrive a little late, they look watery and messy and such a turnoff for your appetite. Only the teppanyaki in Asian restaurant is a blast. Service: I haven’t seen a Hyatt Ziva this bad. Constantly forgot our request and order. A lot of them have an attitude and would go any extra for customer satisfaction.

Also, the food was not quite as good, and the service was a bit slow here. Really loved the crepe station that's open after dinner. I wish it were open all day.

The elevator was always on repairs and making this more of an exercise stay than a vacation. The buffet restaurant was so low quality that we couldn't eat more than 2 times there. If you're a vegetarian, my serious advise is to skip it as there are not enough options that are veg.
- Trek735515 (4/5): Severely Disappointed... - I am severely disappointed with this stay and honestly shocked at how poor the overall experience has been. Our 6th floor room smells like a literal sewer. It is overwhelming and completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. The buffet is very poor and feels like an afterthought rather than a legitimate dining option. The only bright spot of this entire trip was dinner at Melanzane, which was genuinely great and the only positive worth mentioning. Check-in was noticeably cold and uninviting. As long-time Hyatt members, we are used to a much warmer, more welcoming experience. No waters provided, defensive about late checkout which was confirmed via phone when we booked, and overall felt like they didn't want us there... The room itself was not properly cleaned. Towels had visible stains. The robe had visible blood stains. This immediately raised concerns about housekeeping standards. To make matters worse, the AC stopped working in the middle of the night, making sleep extremely uncomfortable. At the pool bar, the alcohol is so blatantly watered down that it is laughable. It feels dishonest and cheap, especially given the price point and expectations of a resort experience. This stay has been a complete waste of our trip. I will not recommend this property to anyone and will actively advise others to stay elsewhere. Deeply disappointing.
- deslagle (8/5): Quality Hyatt but Many Issues that Detract from our stay. - Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is a nice resort on a beautiful beach. Blaze restaurant was great to visit and good omelettes. The buffet was average and some employees do not speak much English. Buffet was poor for lunch ESPECIALLY! We Were there for 5 days on an Alaska Vacation. Too little time for a trip down and back to Washngton State. LAX Airport was horrible for delays. It took 30 minutes to get our luggage at PSC. Hyatt is a quality resort as we have done others before but we were disappointed on the elevators. Two elevators and for 3 days only 1 worked. 20 minutes to wait from the 5th floor to the bottom. Too busy for 1 elevator. Casa Grande had a great beef fillet but did not seat our family Hyatt will only seat 8 and our family was 9 We were split in two tables a lot. We went down there to be a family not two parties. Overall I would give 4 stars, A disappointment. I would say over all the staff at Hyatt is friendly to resort goers. But exceptions as in Casa Grande a Tortillia maker that would not give me the time of the day. she would not answer any questons and shrugged.

We had a swim up pool room, and the staff would bring us drinks from the beach bar. Every pool on the property looked out onto the ocean. The hotel offered a variety of experiences. We did the morning yoga, kayaking, and participated in the foam party all very enjoyable. The app was very easy to use and had all the information you needed on it. Overall, it was a very relaxing stay.

And spent over 10 grand +. To try to argue. With a lady who is ignorant. I rather just post a review and let the Management team know what kind og employees they have working here. .. my go to resort when I come to Mexico is Ziva , Cancun , cabo, Vallarta. And Jamaica. Never have I been treated like this. I dont think management cares though.. especially for a loyal and returning customer.

- Dreamer64012871227 (10/5): Better than our Expectations! - My husband and I love Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. What an outstanding All-Inclusive resort. We stayed a week and were pleased with the variety of choices of where and what to eat. Even late night room-service! We had a very comfortable king bed, and the room was quiet. We had an ocean-front view with a balcony - - and what a view! The entire resort was very clean and the employees were very pleasant and provided excellent service. We enjoyed the various pools and on 2 days rented a cabana on the beach ; they also have a large number of pool-side cabanas available to rent, as well. There was a big wedding celebration on the beach one evening that started at 6pm and we sat out enjoying the sunset and listened/watched their Mariachi band perform. I thought maybe the party might go on til late at night, but the beach portion ended around 9pm and all way quiet for a peaceful night.

Money can be better spent elsewhere. - My partner and I stayed at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta for two nights in December to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. While I expected average food at an all-inclusive, I did not expect it to be this poor. Food across the resort was mostly bad. The ribeye at the seaside grill was thin, lean, and dry (which may be typical for steak in Mexico). The fish ceviche was inedible—the fish was overcooked, dry, crumbly, and oddly included carrots, nothing like typical Mexican ceviche. Desserts were equally bad, including a so-called “caramel apple” that was actually a rock-hard candy-coated apple that was impossible to bite and stained my hands, mouth, teeth, and even my toothbrush red. Drinks also tasted overly artificial and were not worth consuming. Service was inconsistent and often disorganized. We received the wrong dessert at the Mexican restaurant and were only told they had run out of the one we ordered after asking. Dessert at the Italian restaurant took about 45 minutes and we think the waiter forgot about us, as it arrived half-melted. It was grainy and basically inedible—hardly gelato. The crepe station was was poorly executed, producing thick, holey, soggy crepes. The TV was not smart and casting was blocked. We were told IT would return to install a Chromecast, which never happened. Additionally, Wi-Fi for laptops is different from phone Wi-Fi, something that is not communicated unless you call for help. For a supposed five-star resort charging $400–$500 USD per night for a standard room, the amenities and maintenance were unacceptable. Elevators were frequently broken (my partner was briefly stuck in one), public restrooms were in poor condition, tennis courts were out of service, a hot tub had unexplained closures, all pools closed early at 9:00 pm, and the hot tubs were only lukewarm. Pros: Spacious, bright, clean rooms; good water pressure with hot showers; beautiful beach and views; great location outside downtown but close enough for a short drive. Cons: Food, tech, resort condition, and overall value.
- H5619JXpaulinel (8/5): Convenient and Good Resort but No Where to Walk - Very nice property. Close to town. Generally good service and well maintained. Biggest negative is that there is nowhere to walk from the property and we love to walk outside. The buffets were smaller and not as good as other all-inclusive resorts where we have stayed. The grill restaurant on the beach was consistently very good.
- 152tarynr (10/5): Amazing staff - Kevin & Ivan - Kevin who leads the kayak tour which is free when you stay at the hotel was a fantastic guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable and made it a memorable experience for us. Ivan at the playa bar made sure we were well taken care of and was really accommodating with our many requests!

We were treated kindly and hosted beautifully by Gabriella and Angel (managers) and Brenda for helping us book our Cabana. At the Cabana- Adrian and Israel were the best servers. Our favorite restaurant was the Italian Restaurant and was served by Oscar. Oscar was endearing and very warm serving us our dinner.
- U9490XMjordanc (10/5): Private beach with the most romantic sunsets, an absolute MUST visit - We went for a 8 days and it was the best week we have had in a very long time. December was a perfect time to go—the water was warm and only a shade darker than in Cancun. The waves were big but you were still able to swim in them, unlike Cabo. We saw baby sea turtles released to sea, a mama sea turtle laying eggs on the beach, whales breaching all while just walking along the private beach. They had multiple pools so there was never any pressure to reserve a chair. The food was probably the best we’ve had at any of the Hyatt zivas we stayed at (Cabo, Cancun, riviera Cancun and now also here). I think the only “downside” was they didn’t do cans of beer or straws. It was all draft beer and plastic cups (by the water). That included for water too if you ordered it while laying out or in the pool. How much of a downside was it? Not much at all. It made us not want to drink as much alcohol and instead experiment with virgin drinks during the day! I really enjoyed doing vacation that day to be honest. I will say one of the best dirty martinis I have ever had was at the bar at the tamari restaurant!!! While this is the oldest Hyatt resort we have stayed at, they are actively doing renovations (fixing the tile in the pool, updating the elevator) to keep it more up to date. The only place we really felt it was in the room where we had to call for room service versus having everything done from an iPad. If that isn’t first world problems, I don’t know what is. For it being the “oldest” (I put in parenthesis because it wasn’t old at all), I still would say this is my top favorite resort. I loved the private beach we had, it made it all the more romantic and the sunsets were amazing. The staff, as always, are some of the kindest, most hard working people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I would definitely recommend this place 10x over and cannot wait to come back!
- _dapko (10/5): Fabulous stay - Just came back from nine days at this beautiful oceanfront hotel. This hotel sits on a beautiful stretch of beach with two towers anchoring either side. We stayed in the club suites and the rooms were spacious and well appointed and very clean. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was beautiful with huge walk in shower and marble throughout. The two elevators were quick and smooth. Downstairs in the lobby is a place to get drinks and food from morning to evening. The pools and hot tubs were all in great working condition and they replaced tiles in one and had it back open in the morning. The food at each restaurant was delicious and fresh. Lots of choices to pick from. The Viva Z is a buffet restaurant and many choices to pick from. Great selection of fresh fruit and many breakfast items and stations for made to order omelettes and eggs. Lunch at the buffet had many salad and soup options, desserts, cheeses and cold cuts and hot food items. Made to order fish and shrimp which should not be missed, so delicious Plus made to order meats. The staff at the Buffett were so welcoming and always had a smile on their faces. Brandown and Hector have been with the Hyatt for many years and we love seeing them each morning for breakfast or lunch. The captain at the Buffett Alejandra was the sweetest, greeting us each morning with a huge heartfelt hug and smile. She is new to the Hyatt but she felt like an old friend . The Blaze restaurant sits on the ocean and is table service. The view is spectacular as well as the service. We ate a few breakfasts, lunches and suppers there which were always delicious. The service was excellent. The captain Jose Luis was so fun and entertaining. He went above and beyond in making our beach supper and last night supper so very extra special. He’s is great asset to this restaurant and hotel. The staff at Blaze are all wonderful and I know I am missing our morning waitress name but she was so kind. Joel who has worked at Blaze since we started going here is one of the most attentive and caring humans you could ever meet. He’s a pleasure to talk to. We had supper one night at the Tamari at the Teppanyaki table where the cook was so fun and entertaining. They cooked our meal infront of us and it was fresh and delicious. Wonderful evening. Mexican Casa Grande has such a lively atmosphere. We had the pleasure of having a special meal prepared by the Hyatts chef Andres. We had Quacamole made table side, delicious tortilla soup, a huge tray of appetizers, fajitas and churros. FYI they have churro bar that is fabulous. The Italian restaurant Melanzane we ate at twice. The menu has delicious pastas, wood fire oven pizza, fish and many other choices. The food was again wonderful and I cannot say enough about Eddy our waiter. Early morning coffe we grabbed at the deli and sat with it on our deck watching the resort come awake. Delicious ceviche at Fresco in the afternoon. Smoothies in the am and crepes in the evening. I need to give a whole paragraph on Susy Rubio who is in charge of all the restaurants in this resort. To know her is to love her and we adore her. We have know Susy for many years but missed the last number of years because of illnesses but this year we were finally able to travel again and of course we chose Hyatt Ziva in PV to see our own friends at the the hotel. Susy and her staff serve everyone with service from the heart. She was always dropping over to see how our day was and how we were enjoying our stay. We had such a special time this holiday. Susy went above and beyond each every day for us. Booking a special beach dinner with our friends for their birthdays and seeing where we would like to go for supper. On our last night Susy, Jose Luis, Joel and Andres brought me to tears with the very above and beyond dining experience. They set up a special beach side table where we enjoyed wine and the meal was prepared by the fabulous head chef Andres who explained each dish. There was grilled chicken Ceaser salad, the world’s best clam chowder that I would take home a gallon if I could. Then we had coconut shrimp on a bed of mashed potatoes with delicious cream corn. Deep fried ice cream and a bon voyage cake that was simply beautiful. The evening was complete with a flaming Irish coffee made by Jose Luis And a nightcap of champagne. To say we were spoiled rotten by all of the staff who are like family is an understatement. Andres the head chef for the resort who I have mentioned in this post is the most incredible chef and person. He took the time to prepare us amazing special dinners. This is the first time we met him but we made a new friend at the Hyatt and look forward to seeing him again year. Thank you Andres for all you did for us. We also met the manager at the hotel who ask how our day was and let us know that if we need anything to just ask him. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas with a million Poinsettias and a huge tree. So very festive and lovely. We look forward to our return next year to see all our dear friends of the Hyatt Ziva. We love you all. I could not recommend this hotel more. They have made this our only choice of hotel when visiting PV.
- JOlyn2 (10/5): Hyatt Ziva delivers another unforgettable trip! - This was my eighth time at this resort—and my third time visiting since it became a Hyatt property. We traveled the week of 10/26–11/2. I originally had a group of 32 scheduled to visit the Dominican Republic, but as a Louisianan who knows firsthand how damaging hurricanes can be, I grew concerned about the storm that ultimately devastated Jamaica. To avoid potential travel issues, I switched all 32 of us to the Hyatt Ziva the Sunday before our trip, since the forecast there showed nothing but sunshine. All but five of my travelers stayed in the Club Tower. All of the restaurants were open, and both the food and service were very good—some restaurants stood out more than others, but there was nothing to complain about. The resort was in the final stages of a refresh during our stay. Work was still being done on the elevators in the main building, but the noise and dust were kept to a minimum, and the five guests staying there loved their newly remodeled rooms. Food: very good. Service: very good to great. Beach: awesome. Evening shows were held in the Plaza or the Sports Bar, I still prefer a resort with an actual show area, but the layout is small so I understand that it is not possible. I’m still not a fan of having only one bar open at night; I really miss having a lobby bar where people can meet up. That said, more couches have been added outside of the sportsbar since my last visit, which made for comfortable gathering spots. During our stay, the resort had to shut down the entire electrical system for a necessary repair (as explained in the note left under our doors). The power was out for at least ten hours. While it was certainly an inconvenience, I have to commend the management team—they kept the fun going as best they could, and restaurants continued serving guests on the patios of the lower-level dining areas. Things happen, and overall we were impressed how well the managers "handled" the situation. Out of our 32 guests, six of us were returning, and the rest were first-timers—but everyone now wants to go back. We were also lucky enough to witness turtle releases every night, which is truly a sight to behold. Overall, there was nothing major to complain about, and we will definitely be back.

Additional kudos to Brenda’s yoga classes and Kayaking tour with Kevin for top quality included amenities. If you have a chance to visit the spa, the experience is heavenly with the included Hydro circuit and fabulous massages with Irma and Amalia! Attention to detail and great meals also highlighted the visit!

- DeborahL70 (8/5): Beautiful Views and Great Service, but Declining Maintenance and Overpriced Gift Shop - Our recent stay at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta was a mix of wonderful memories and noticeable disappointments. We’ve been visiting this resort since 2017 and have always appreciated its beautiful setting and warm hospitality. This visit, we once again enjoyed the delicious food, attentive service, and the glorious ocean view from our balcony in the concierge building. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, maintaining the charm we’ve come to expect. However, we couldn’t help but notice that the overall upkeep of the resort has declined. The faucet to wash feet in the outdoor shower was broken for the entire week of our stay, and one of the sinks in the main women’s bathroom in the lobby was missing both its faucet and handles all week as well. These maintenance issues detracted from the otherwise relaxing environment. The most disappointing experience came from the new gift shop, where we were charged $44 USD for a single bottle of sun lotion spray. When we asked to confirm the price in U.S. dollars, the attendant laughed at us, which felt disrespectful and unprofessional. Frankly, that kind of pricing and attitude felt like highway robbery and left a very poor impression. We still love the resort’s location and many of its staff, but we sincerely hope management takes steps to restore the property’s standards and address customer service concerns. Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta has always been a special place for us, and we’d love to see it return to the level of excellence it once had.
