Guest Reviews
- ROBERT (8/5): - Parking was easy
Friendly
- Molly (8/5): - The room was clean and very cozy, staff is very accommodating and nice!
- Christina (6/5): - Our stay was okay, but could of been much better there was a few faults with the room one which I won’t discuss and other was no tv all weekend we made them aware of the needs and they don’t take care of it. They did apologize and said it won’t happen again.
- Diana (8/5): - Old place but very clean.
- Joseph (6/5): - Room was ok but sketchy people around.
- Michelle (8/5): - Clan room recently remodeled. Super friendly owners. A/c came in periodically. It worked, but not to set temperature. There are people living in the hotel, which is a little strange, but nobody caused any trouble and all was well. No issues at all. No regrets and would stay there again!
- Florian (10/5): - The room was clean and the check in and out was easy.
- Mark (6/5): - older building, not to fancy
- Elisenda (10/5): - Excellent!
- Laura (10/5): - Very clean and great price
- Aaron (10/5): - Very good motel with nice staff. Clean, good-smelling room. I had everything I needed, and there was some beauty in it. Only downside was that the area outside of the motel felt slightly sketchy, but maybe that was to be expected of downtown at night (when I checked in).
- Amber (8/5): - This little hotel is very convenient. It is an older building but well maintained. The rooms are clean. I always travel with Clorox, Tilex for shower mold, which I use in every hotel I stay in from Hilton to the Towne Inn. The beds are pristine and comfortable, we slept well.
The area is quaint, older, a little run down but seems safe. Just lock up your car and store your property in an unseen spot.
- Sharon (8/5): - Very pleasant & helpful staff/owner. Insisted on giving us clean towels the 2nd day even though husband said we were OK. Room was clean & decent. Outside area could use some work.
- Mike (8/5): - An affordable, but older motel. It was very clean and recently refurbished.
- Marguerite (10/5): A good bed and good bathroom - The staff was attentive and helpful. The beds and bedding were comfortable, although an additional pillow on each bed would be nice since the pillows (4) were very soft. The bathroom had been renovated and was immaculate. Ample towels and toiletries were provided. I especially appreciated the excellent lighting throughout the rooms. The refrigerator and freezer were very efficient. The tv & remote worked well. Room security was good. The in-room coffee maker's directions couldn't be read clearly, so we didn't use it. There was an ice bucket, but no directions on where to find the ice machine. The furniture was very tired and in need of replacement. No additional amenities were provided...the lobby did not provide coffee, snacks for purchase, nor a list of nearby places to eat.
- Kurt (10/5): - The property is located in a neighborhood that is currently undergoing a revitalization. The motel is safe, clean and operated by a wonderful family. I would stay there again.
- Mary (8/5): - The motel stay was very affordable. Just over $100. For the price it was very good. Clean and quiet. The parking was in an enclosed area so not open to the street.
- Peter (6/5): - Conveniently located
- Steven (10/5): Safe, affordable place near Cooperstown, NY - Checkin was pleasant and room was on 1st floor right next to parking, so easy unload and load. There is a family feel to the inner courtyard/parking, as some residents make use of their porch while children pet visiting dogs. This hotel was our choice rather than paying a fortune to stay in Cooperstown. A nearby Walmart and eateries were a plus in this small community. Beds were very comfortable, water pressure great. Lots of table top options in the room were a huge bonus. Makeup area was a little dated, but clean. Refrigerator worked great.
- Karen (6/5): - It was okay, but there were holes in the desk and bedspread. Clean, but needed upgrading.
- Antoinette (8/5): - For this depressed area, it was well maintained. Clean bed and bathroom.
- Richard (8/5): - Staff was friendly
- Michael (10/5): - Check in was easy and quick. The person at the front desk was friendly and professional. The room was much larger than I expected. It is clean and quiet. Nice motel.
- Heidi (8/5): - Very nice employees, very clean, good price
- darkdustl (2/5): HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY GIVE THIS PLACE A 5????? - Apparently, I cannot write an honest review here. This motel is a p.o.s. Don't stay there. I don't know what else I can say to specify my deep regret of choosing this place. Don't stay here. I never expect perfection where ever I choose but this place is not worth the one night it costs.
- Darren (10/5): - Very nice staff. Friendly and helpful
- Darren (6/5): - Not much to eat there. But comfortable
- Anna (6/5): Stopover during long drive - Decent stay for quick overnight relief from driving. Dingy & worn. No plug for the tub conditioner in shower, needed one more towel. Otherwise it was adequate. Was looking for a direct into room stay to minimize packing/unpacking which was part of why this was chosen.
- Dayton (8/5): - I'm used to the area so it doesn't bother me. Did see a roach during my stay but other than that, we enjoyed our time.
- Kirk (10/5): - Older but nicely renovated rooms. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice bathroom. Wall mounted TV with good channel selection.
- Dawn (10/5): - The room was large. Plenty of table/counter space to set belongings. No carpet so floor was clean. Bathroom was decent size.
- Kelley (8/5): Exactly what we needed - A friend and i did a girls trip, and stayed for the night. Pretty clean, no weird smells, and a comfy bed.
- Angela (10/5): - Great hotel, family run, very clean and friendly. Great little store across the street, close to good dinning!
- Deborah (8/5): - clean and quiet. Staff very helpful. pricing is reasonable.
- Karen (4/5): - This is a difficult post to write, whilst you can see the owners work hard to build up their business, the long stay residents made us feel very uncomfortable. The police were called while we were there. The rooms appear clean however after I had a shower my husband commented how black my feet were! The milk and sugar pack turned my husbands coffee so threw it away. I am sorry as you can see the owners are trying hard but $119 a night I would expect more in a motel
- David (10/5): Herkimer - Service was excellent and room was comfortable and clean
- Lawrence (6/5): - Convenient, inexpensive, clean, good refrigerator freezer microwave. No coffee machine, I went to nearby DD.
- Gloria (6/5): - Clean enough to sleep.
- Andrew (8/5): - It was ok
- Judith (6/5): - The room was clean, however the property was unkempt. There were boxes under the open staircase and it appeared that there were permanent residents in the area. The area nearby had many empty buildings with broken windows.
- Andrea (10/5): Clean - Got a better room than the one I had booked. Clean and simple with a table and chairs.
- David (8/5): - Owners very helpful and Respectful
- Mary (8/5): - Local older motel… trying to compete with chains. It was ok for one night
- mattel8 (6/5): Not a bad place to stay - The room was quite big, was clean, and had been freshly painted, and also had a fridge and microwave. When we pulled up to the place, there were a few unsavoury looking characters around, which made us feel a bit uneasy, but we were only staying one night. We were up at 7am, and there were some very loud conversations going on outside, which would've woken us anyway.
It's a shame about the area as the actual place was okay.
- Jean-claude (6/5): - Poor infrastructure
- Deborah (2/5): - Qe made the mistake of staying at the InnTowne Motel. We were placed on ground level. Mistake number 1. The room next to us had broken window borded up wirh plywood. Mistake number 2. Women talking to men all night long unceasingly, doors opening and closing all night. Mistake number 3. Our alarm went off at 6 am. Which must have woken our neighbors who then proceded to have morning relations. Mistake number 4. Their headboard knocked the wall against our bed. It felt sleezy. Yuck! Most unpleasant!
- Viatcheslav (8/5): - Overall very good.
- Brenda (10/5): - Very helpful friendly staff
- TripCos (4/5): Very cheap but other places at similar prices have been better. - Although this place was very cheap - 90 for a night including taxes - and I was only using it as a place to sleep for one night along the road - it still didn't seem to be a great value for the money. Other places costing around 100/night have been better.
It does have a microwave and a good mini-fridge with separate freezer, and there were power outlets near the bed, which some places don't have.
No liquid soap, conditioner, or shampoo was provided.
Bright lights from the parking lot still seep into the room even if the curtains are fully closed.
Even though it was a non-smoking room, I could smell that someone had smoked there at some point and whatever cleaning they did had not gotten rid of all the smell.
- Helaine (10/5): - The management was very friendly and helpful explaining local attractions.
- Anna (2/5): - Very run down property. Rooms were barely livable. Our room stank of cigarettes even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking property. There were no other options because of the eclipse. We had to go to Walmart and buy air fresheners and run the bathroom fan all night just to be able to sleep. Horrible experience.
- David (10/5): - Nice quiet motel. The room had a nostalgic decor. Very clean with typical household bedding and furniture instead of the usual hotel setup. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again if I am in the area.
- Carolyn (4/5): - Room somewhat shabby. Carpet felt creepy. Shower head not fully functional. Room smelled stale. TV was not user friendly.Smokers standing outside other rooms.
- 0karolynm (10/5): Great place to stay. - We have stayed at the Inn Towne every year for the past 9 years and have no complaints. Clean comfortable rooms, friendly accommodating staff. One year the battery died in our truck and the owner boosted it for us. This year we made reservations with Sarah and because of a mix up in dates, she had no room for us. She realized her mistake before we arrived, met us as we drove in and very quickly made arrangements for us at another motel. Sarah followed us to the other motel, where we paid the rate she was charging us and she covered the extra cost of the new room. No muss, no fuss. Sarah Patel is a great person and we will be staying at the Inn Towne anytime we are in the area. Thank you Sarah.
- Douglas (6/5): A short stay. - An overnight stay prior to resuming a trip to Michigan. Every appliance was functional, and the water was hot. No breakfast was offered.
- Nancy (10/5): - This motel was clean and quiet, with parking in a courtyard. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
- Brenda (10/5): - Thanks to a professional staff
- Linda (4/5): - There were arguing outside one of the rooms. After my observation it looks like they live there. I gather paying monthly rates. The room was clean and staff was ok.
Would I stay there again No..
The place was close to area stores so that was a plus.
- Kyle (2/5): - The motel room was extremely dirty and smelled. The mattress cover and shower curtains were stained in what appeared to be blood. I woke up to several painful bedbug bites and even saw them in the bathroom and took pictures. When i went to tell the owner she yelled saying i must have brought them in on my clothes.
I shouldve known better when i saw the state of the motel when driving up to it but i decided to try and stay for one night. I ended up having to throw out my bags and spent a couple hundred dollars making sure everything i brought back home from my trip was sanitized of any more bed bugs from the room.
It appears that some of the guests may be permanent residents and it seemed extremely sketchy as well as the general area around the motel. Im honestly more upset with myself for staying their when i knew it wouldnt be ideal.
- Pamela (4/5): - No rooms on the ground floor apparently occupied by permanent residents who stay up late “visiting”. Staircase to second floor metal steps which I’d hate to use in winter. The room was clean and a mix of old furnishings with new flooring. Bed comfortable. TV with Dish & m/w and fridge. Chairs old and dated. Area is sketchy and sadly Herkimer’s downtown a travesty of closed stores and decrepit buildings. It’s priced I think with these attributes in mind
- Frederick (2/5): - We decided not to stay at the hotel. The room was not smoke free Nor did the area around the hotel look safe.
- Paul (2/5): No room at the inn - i went there to rent my room per my reservation I was told by a gentlemen there that there was a sign in the office saying there was no rooms available Then he said that he didn,t know the owners phone # but some how came up with it The owner came on the phone and said i could have a room if I payed 80.00 which I had no intention of doing I felt sorry for the guy that was running the place because they didn,t leave Him a clue to what was going on.
- Jonni (8/5): just fine if you need to stay in Herkimer - It was clean if a little rough. We requested non-smoking, but clearly it was either situated close to smoking, or the previous guest ignored that.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly service. Works great for my frequent trips through the area.
- Kim (10/5): - The bed wasvery comfortable.
- Nesla (6/5): - The staff was sweet but it's old, dated and looks dirty.
- Ardella Mae (10/5): - This was an amazing stay, especially for the cost. We stayed one night. The owner was very nice checked us in fast and simple. The room was very clean. The bathroom was nicely updated. Great stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not what it was - The immediate area is pretty unsafe day and night: there are sketchy guys renting out apartment rooms right across from the main building and they stare and jeer at visitors at all hours of the day and just sit there staring and commenting. When we went across the street to the deli that night at 9pm we were stopped and asked if we had any money. As for the room it was definitely disappointing: the nonsmoking room was filled with smoke as if someone smoked all night and just checked out. Not even turning on the fan or opening the door would get rid of the smell. Hairdryer almost burst into flames because it was either too old or someone had put a shard of plastic or glass into it, just crazy, I’d recommend the red roof inn only 2 min away or the Travelodge in Little Falls bout 8-10 min down the road.
- Mike (2/5): - Bedbugs! I will say that I only found one after it bit me so it may have just been brought in but I definitely got bit and found a live bedbug. We pulled the bed covers apart but didn’t find anymore. We still wound up leaving at 1 am because we didn’t trust the place anymore. The Owner was pretty argumentative even though I showed her the bug carcass but did refund my money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Place to Spot and Sleep - Friendly staff and comfortable accommodations
- claudia (2/5): - I did not stay, I left when I entered the room ... the smell was nauseating ... I didn't even want to think about what the bed would be like
- Dean (10/5): Cozy & Clean in Herkimer - Absolutely excellent service and cozy room. Definitely hits above its weight class! Worthy of a 3 star status… Outstanding value for money. The desk even sent me an email 36 minutes after checking out to let me know I had forgotten something in the room!!
- Scott (8/5): - The place was clean, and the management was accomodating
- karen (6/5): Inn Towne - The hotel wasn’t bad for the money. There was an odor by our door from people smoking pot. The manager was rude when I checked in and always had to ring for front desk. Door was always locked.
- MaryLee (8/5): Basic but comfortable and affordable - Basic but very clean accommodations . Mini fridge in room and free &fast wifi was a plus. King bed was comfortable. Furnishings dated but in good condition. Attentive staff. Very good room for the price
- Hubert R (8/5): - Staff was responsive, room was quiet, breakfast was good and the price was reasonable.
The air conditioner needed work but we were comfortable.
- Nancy (10/5): - Neat and clean. Friendly staff
- lindafritz (10/5): Excellent long stay - wonderful staff... The room spotless, service very prompt and polite. Love the security cameras every where like a little gated community without the gate. Great choice for the price. Would recommend for anyone know needs a good night rest on a budget.
- julia_fisher (6/5): Road trip - This place from the outside doesn't look like much it does need a little TLC but I have to say the reviews were good so we had to stop. The room was very clean and the lady at the front desk was very nice. The dead bolt on the door didn't work but luckily it Had a chain so all was good. The bed was extremely comfortable we had a king size bed. It was the first time I had ever encountered what I called ketchup packet shampoo, The shampoo was in little packets like ketchup. All I have to say is don't judge a book by its cover.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked that it was clean. I liked how nice and kind and friendly the staff was at the front desk. I did not like only one set of towels per person I like one for the night and the next morning. I would be ok with one bath towel, but at least two sets of face and hand towels would be helpful. I also did not like the shampoo being in a rip package vs a bottle.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Mannager was excellent
- Li Juan (10/5): Would stay again - Very professional and friendly check-in staff and room attendants, rooms are very clean and beds comfy, quiet area, thanks for everything!
- Brittmarie (6/5): Totally ok! - It was not the worst. Bed was comfortable. On the bed sheets was a black hair and some crumbs. I brushed it off. no big deal! We have seen worse. No bugs, Ants or spiders! The carpet is hard to say if it was clean or not it is not a luxury place but it is totally ok. Bathroom was clean. we have no complaints.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was simple, but clean and very friendly people.
- Madeline (10/5): Good stay - Very hood, easy check in/out. Staff very friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bed was comfortable and the staff was freindly. The unit was clean. There was not much in the amenities category. The motel is in town, no pool, and did not see any vending machines, but there is a convenience store across the street. Very quiet room as well..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff is amazing, doing nice upgrades in the rooms. Downfall is the WiFi is very week and my daughter had a hard time completing her courses.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Inn keepers are very pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable.
- powergirl73 (10/5): Simple place to stay - Stayed here while visiting my fiance. Staff was friendly, catered to what we needed. King rooms very spacious fridge, coffee maker n microwave. Walking distance to everything. Bathroom has been upgraded. Ac worked well. Reasonable budget friendly place to stay.
- Rokky (8/5): - Quiet!!! Slept great Very affordable and clean, comfortable beds,
- Gary (10/5): Great value - First time there... definitely will stay again..
- Sylvia (10/5): - The motel is centrally located in Herkimer. The room was very clean, with microwave, fridge. The bathroom had been newly remodeled. The beds were comfortable, and the bedspreads appeared to be new. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I cannot comment on breakfast, as this service was suspended due to covid 19. Will definitely stay there again when going to Herkimer to mine for Herkimer diamonds.
- Jackie (8/5): Okay - It was a nice stay what we expected for the money
- Alfred (8/5): - Convenient location to where we wanted to be.close to stores and eating establishment
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The location is removed from anywhere to eat or visit. The motel is overpriced for value received.
Went to the local diner which everyone recommended. Crazy Otto's Empire Diner. Had probably the worst meal I can remember having. Ordered the steak, big mistake, found the meat old and inedible.
I would recommend avoiding Herkimer completely, Stick with a motel alongside the highway for a better value.
- Ronald (8/5): Cheap and worth the money for a no frills motel - Nothing special but nothing bad. The price was very reasonable for a no frills motel. But it was clean and the beds were comfortable and everything in the room worked fine. Sort of dumpy part of town.
- Dave (8/5): - Toasty warm heater. Great bathtub! Good internet. Few pillows though. Nice people at front desk. Great little store across street!
- Sarah (6/5): - The inn was clean, the owners friendly but the WiFi didn’t work and one of the owners (female) came in my room without knocking and just stood there looking at me and I asked “could you please leave?” She apologized and then a minute later knocked quietly then quickly opened the door again. No chance to answer the door or cover up had I gotten up to change. I couldn’t believe it.
I said “why are you in my room again?” She said “ To inform you we are doing roof work in a little bit so it will get loud.” I just shook my head in disbelief as she closed the door. Why she couldn’t call the room or wait for me to come to the knock...Was just so bizarre. The lock on the door didn’t work so I couldn’t lock her out with a chain latch or deadbolt so I was really paranoid later as I got dressed.
In her defense as I left she was helping two very elderly guests across the parking lot and she was very friendly. I know these are nice people.
I just don’t think it truly dawned on her you can’t do that.
- MICHAEL T (8/5): - It was ok
- Peter (10/5): Mr. P - great place. and price..
