- Peter (8/5): Excellent accomodation. Skip the breakfast. - Breakfast was only fair. Items did not appear to be fresh enough. Hotel Metropole could do better with the breakfast offering. Breakfast, see above.
- Korandin (10/5): - Location and aesthetic There wasn’t anyone available at the front desk on the mornin we left
- Alfonso (10/5): Can't wait to go back - I liked there was a variety to choose from location is perfect I can't think of one thing I didn't like

- Bridget (9/5): - Great location. Clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Over shops and courtyard that was very noisy very early (coffee shop just outside our window)
- KATHERINE (10/5): -
- William (8/5): Comfortable Hotel in an ideal location. - Great location for everything on offer in Catalina. Staff were friendly and helpful. No negatives during our stay.

- Bonnie (10/5): Loved this place and would recommend. - Beautiful boutique hotel. Great location. Hot tub on roof. Very nice continental breakfast. No complaints at all.
- ELLADA (10/5): -
- Tranell (9/5): Great Stay Quiet - Could've Been Better But It Worked Out Fine No Enough Towels
- Diane (10/5): Excellent. Loved the glass elevator and jacuzzi view. - Continental Breakfast was sufficient and of good quality. Softer bed.
- Brandy (10/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): Wonderful stay, we didn’t want to leave! - Clean, comfortable, quiet, spacious. Excellent continental breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Good quality toiletries too! It would be good to have a shuttle for this hotel to help with luggage.
- Joey (10/5): -
- Shelly (10/5): Great place to stay! - Queen, comfortable, and convenient! Right in town, walkable to most anything! Cute little courtyard with shops and amenities close by. Great views of the courtyard and the bay. A little noisy because it’s in town but great trade-off because everything is so close.
- lisatO5044MB (10/5): BEST EXPERIENCE FOR COUPLES - Metropole Hotel is THE hotel to stay in Catalina Islands. We reserved the VIP room and from the moment you walk in, it felt like a warm and relaxing paradise. The room was spacious and had a large soaking tub and fireplace. The windows slide all the way open to the view of Catalina and the ocean. We walked around the island and always had convenient access to food; spa and entertainment below our hotel room. To top it all off, upon checking out of the hotel and leaving Catalina island, we realized that we had forgotten our car keys in the hotel room. The team and management (shoutout to Sheila!) were able to get the keys to us through Maverick helicopter so we did not have to ride the ferry back to the island to retrieve the keys. It made our stressful situation into an easily resolved solution. Thank you so much to both Metropole Hotel and their team for giving us a relaxing stay and going above and beyond the call of service to help us even after we checked out of your hotel.

- Kimberly (7/5): - Location, updated rooms.
- Renée (10/5): Me and my two friends stayed at this hotel and everything was great! - Comfortable Nothing
- Ketie (8/5): -
- lindaortizme (10/5): Wonderful hotel with fabulous views! - My daughters and I wanted to do a midweek girls trip so we chose to go to Avalon. We looked over several hotels online and decided to stay at the hotel Metropole. We are so glad that we did! I called the hotel directly and spoke to Shiela, who suggested rooms catering to what we were Looking for, and could not have been sweeter. We had oceanfront views, large suites, and surprisingly it was very quiet in the evenings. We had balconies to sit on and had the most wonderful time. There are lots of shops and a great coffee store as part of the area. We will definitely go back again!
- Rosa (8/5): - ok stay, not exactly to my expectations.
- Mayra (8/5): - The room was nice, staff was courteous. No mini fridge in the rooms though, but overall good.
The M restaurant in the hotel, unfortunately, was a big disappointment. The food was well below average and I’m being generous. Greasy breaded fish with lumpy rice and bland. The stuffed portabello mushroom is the most unappealing plate I’ve ever seen, and it was so salty, just one bite and could not eat it.
I would stay at the Hotel Metropole again, but would never go back to the restaurant.
- Sergio (10/5): - Great small hotel in the middle of everything.
- Nilofar (2/5): - I wish I book other hotel. The room was over public patio, very noisy.the breakfast was a joke.Never recommend to anyone.
Staff was so unprofessional, her name was Shila. The bathroom's door was brocking. I really west my monye.
- 802dorians (10/5): Outstanding overnight stay - Great overnight stay here! Best location with shops all around and the beach right across the street. Vanessa helped us out and couldn’t have been more helpful! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
- Marilyn (10/5): - We had an excellent time celebrating a special birthday, thank you so much for the champagne. It was much appreciated!
- Michael (10/5): - We arrived and were well taken care of. Vanessa was so nice and really bent over backwards to make our stay perfect and it was. She's the best.
- Rochelle (10/5): - We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to return!
- davidpU504OB (4/5): Overpriced and not very hygienic rooms - When you pay around $570 per night you don't expect to find the previous occupants hair all over the floor and after you have pointed it out to management still find long blonde tresses over the floor on the third day. Don't get me started on the "continental breakfast " fiasco.
- Julie (8/5): - Our 2nd time staying here. It was quiet, comfortable, and clean.
Great place to stay while visiting Catalina.
- Shandra (10/5): - Wonderful stay! Rooms were clean, modern and staff was extremely nice. Love the location. Perfect for our family of four.
- Nillie (10/5): - It was a really great stay.
- Guadalupe (10/5): - The early check-in option was a plus. The customer service was excellent and the amenities made us very comfortable.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Front desk staff were super friendly.
- Tiffany (9/5): - The rooms were a nice size and they were comfortable and clean.
- Brandy (10/5): - Staff was very friendly, the even let us check in early.
- ryaneB3013AP (10/5): Wonderful experience overall - The staff and services were amazing. Beautiful hotel with gorgeous views and a spectacular location. My fiancée and I stayed in one of the VIP suites and they certainly made us feel like VIPs for sure. The room was beautiful and ready for us when we got off the boat. A wonderful experience overall.
- Katelyn (10/5): -
- Anahit (10/5): - The hotel was at a great location and had a nice staff. Breakfast was good and rooms with balcony was nice. Just wish the jacuzzi was bigger.
- Scott (8/5): - Great stay
- Bradford (10/5): - Loved this property. Was near everything. Staff was helpful and room was very clean
- Chiqui (10/5): - Conveniebt
- Junya (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): A nice hotel that we will definitely visit again. - Hotel Metropole is a favorite of ours. The location is excellent, the staff is accommodating and the rooms are excellent. Although our room was next to the spa, there was no noise perceived in our room from others using it.
I do wish that there was daily cleaning service.
- Melanee (10/5): Great location; kind staff! Will come back! - The location was prime! It’s attached to a collection of restaurants, shops, and cafes (and an arcade). Live music below in the evenings… and very close to the beach. The staff were all very kind!
- Sara (10/5): - Quiet and Comfortable
- Richard (10/5): - The cafe with seating area was very pleasant, and there was a good live band while we were there on a weeknight. Filling out water bottles was nice, plenty of towels for spa and beach, and a good continental breakfast as well. Thank you!
- Trina (8/5): I enjoyed the stay here I would do it again. - It was close to food and entertainment. There was one thing no microwave in the rooms, but I like that they allowed you to use the one near guest services.
- Maria (10/5): - Our stay was short but sweet..the hotel was in great location . The room was clean . Best part of our stay there was the staff, they were so helpful and friendly.
- Ann (8/5): - Decent continental breakfast. Clean and very spacious room. Beds were fairly comfortable. Nice fireplace and dining table with chairs.
Overall pretty decent for a 3 star hotel. Definitely overpriced. But I think that’s common of the Catalina Island as a whole.
- Douglas (10/5): - This is an older hotel, but beautifully maintained and immaculately clean. The location is perfect, right on the Avalon waterfront and an easy walk to all that Avalon has to offer. Our room had a bit of an ocean view, which was greatly appreciated. The staff is friendly and helpful, but there were a couple of things. First, maid service is only by request, which we did not know, so the room went uncleaned for a couple days. Second, the included continental breakfast offers the barest minimum of choices and could easily be improved with a bit more variety.
- Erica (2/5): WORST BEDS EVER - TERRIBLE BEDS!!!!!! The worst bed we have ever paid to sleep on, -50/10. This hotel really cheated out on the comfort measures. An absolute waste. The bed was springy and had zero support. It was so bad we had to book a $300+ couples massage after our stay because we both had severe back, neck, and sciatic pain. The bathroom was dirty and the floors were dirty. There were cobwebs on the curtains. The staff needs to do a better job and cleaning and they need to replace the beds ASAP!!!! This stay was terrible, never again. We come every year and we will be writing this place off. Save your money! It’s also super loud because it’s right over a shopping center.
- Nancy (6/5): - Nothing was particularly great nothing was particularly bad. It was just an average room, with average staff.
I would recommend it because it has a good location, and is well priced.
- Jolly Micah (10/5): - Accessibility
- B1923IUdonm (10/5): Beautiful Hotel - This was our second stay at the Hotel Metropole. Our room was beautiful. We enjoyed the courtyard restaurant. The nightly music was great too. The entire town has quaint shops all within walking distance. We recommend the Blue Water restaurant for dinner and drinks. We plan to come again.
- Jennifer (8/5): Hotel Metropole - Hotel is centrally located to all shops and restaurants so it’s not the most quiet. Air conditioner was very loud. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Food options were great including online ordering at the coffee shop that’s next door. Nice selection at Continental breakfast offered to guests. Friendly staff.
- Diana (10/5): - Great hotel! Great location!
- James (9/5): Would stay here again at the Hotel Metropole - The room was good for our needs. We had bikes that had to be brought to our room and there was adequate room for them. The Continental breakfast was good.
- Phylicia (10/5): - Customer service oriented, great services, loved our room, easy access to everything! We will be back!
- Dawn (9/5): -
- Chacy (8/5): -
- Nasha (10/5): - If you want an amazing experience come here to book because it was very convenient . You're on mainland you walk up the street and you see everything. I recommend to get the view of the beach. Staff is vey kind and friendly. 100/100
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- amy (10/5): - The hotel was clean. Water pressure was amazing. The staff was very nice, and they have a continental breakfast. I will stay here again.
- Mario (10/5): - Great location and great staff they are very accommodating in every way possible. Super clean and fresh facility. Will be back next trip.
- brenda (10/5): - Beautiful hotel. Wonderful and accommodating staff. Would definitely be staying here again!
- Yessenia (10/5): - very nice
- Dawn (10/5): - Great location. Nice ambiance. Large rooms. Nice view from the rooftop deck.
- Katie (10/5): Great place to stay - My husband and I went to Catalina Island for our 12 Anniversary.
We’re seniors.
We picked the Metropol because it was right on the water. Also has an elevator.
Restaurants and shopping is right there.
The room was great.
The bed was as comfortable.
Pillows were good.
Everyone at the hotel was very friendly.
Live band played in the hotel courtyard.
Very nice hotel.
- Charity (10/5): We stayed here on our honeymoon almost 25 years ago. We brought our kids this time. They loved it and so did we! - Location was perfect, the staff were really nice and it was very clean. Maybe a bit pricey.
- Farah (6/5): - The hotel location was perfect we got two rooms they are clean and easy to access
But one of the bathrooms was clogged they came to fix it multiple time but still didn’t work
AC kept shutting off in both rooms
- Kathleen (6/5): - Check with hotel if there will be live music outside the night of your stay. There apparently is sometimes loud, amplified bands playing directly outside the guest rooms from 6-9 pm, which may be unpleasant if you’re trying to relax.
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good - The location was great
- kathy (8/5): - Wonderful helpful friendly staff that responded right away to questions. Great location- at most 10 minute walk to everything.
Only complaint was wifi issues and tv not consistent.
Would stay again!
- Cindy (10/5): - Location, cleanliness, service were on point. We would stay here again. Only constructive criticism is the continental breakfast. The pastries were a little stale but coffee, fruit, yogurts and bagels were good.
- Sandra (10/5): great - great a little noisy from courtyard
- Qiana (10/5): - We will be back. I would like to stay longer next time. Thank you.
- Michael (10/5): - Awesome location and a wonderful room
- Aj aka Annette (10/5): - I went during a main holiday, the location was super convenient. Its so close to everything. I was able to check in quickly and a little before the expected time. My room overlooked the courtyard and a little bit of the horizon which was a nice view to wake up to. We enjoyed the continental breakfast out in the balcony. The bed and pillows are so comfy, and were actually clean and fresh unlike other places ive stayed where u have to question bedbugs. It very clean and the wood floors are so nice, better than carpet like other places. It has a kreuig and i love the lava hot shower water. It doesnt have a frig or microwave so dont bring back leftovers if u eat out. I had trouble loggin into the wifi, maybe because there was so many people there for the holiday so that kinda sucked but its fine i guess. Its my favorite catalina hotel, i would definitely recommend.
- Eileen (7/5): Great location, lovely room, but oh my aching back! - The location of the property was perfect and the room was clean and very spacious. I give credit to the housekeeping staff. This property is supposed to be one of the prime hotels on the island. It is very expensive. That being said the mattress was terrible. There was very little support (I could feel the inner springs) and it aggravated a back issue. For 4 nights I had to sleep on top of a layered blanket for relief.
- Estela (8/5): - Estuvimos muy agusto la cama muy cómoda y muy limpio
- Leslie (8/5): - This hotel is super convenient to everything, but so are all of them. The design is cool, with a little alleyway of shops/services going down the middle with a cool courtyard, but that makes it really loud in the morning, especially in the 2-queen bed rooms. There’s a coffee shop right outside beneath Room 206, and it opens pretty early, so that kinda sucked. Pretty much everywhere at the hotel seems loud - loud with a/c noise, loud with some work trucks that continuously pull in and pick up/drop off (?) things. It was just loud. So if noise doesn’t bother you, this is a nice hotel, but it will probably deter me from staying there again. Shout out to Vanessa who was awesome. She let us switch rooms for our second night when I told her it was a little noisy. We moved into 303 which was a little quieter and had a way better view (even a peek-a-boo view of the water). Another plus was that the rooms (both of them) were ready earlier than most hotels. Our first room upon arrival was ready when we got there at like 1:30 and the second one was ready while we were spending our day at Descanso Beach Club (rent chairs here - it’s SO worth it). They even moved our luggage to the new room. Breakfast was okay - pastries, bagels, oatmeal, cold cereal, juices, coffee, & fresh fruit. And you can take it down to the cute courtyard to eat. Overall, it was a great couple of days, but I might try a different hotel next time just because of the noise factor.
- Analycia (10/5): - This hotel was perfect! Walkable from the Catalina Island express. Clean and adorable rooms. Amazing restaurants and shops right outside and steps away from your hotel room. Not in the middle of everything where the bars were so it got quiet after 8pm. Slept with the windows open listening to the ocean. They had a nice little continental breakfast nothing too big. They had muffins, bagels, cereal fruit, coffee and juices. I noticed other people complaining about it being too small but it was enough options especially for free. You are on an island and things can get expensive quick especially if food goes to waste. Take your own water if you can. Bottles even at restaurants are $1.50 each. We will be staying here again! Can’t wait to go back.
- Subhi (6/5): - I reserve Ocean view room, but they said they don’t give it whatever reserve from third party . I paid the different but they said this is a normal price for regular room.
- waikikiSanDiego (10/5): A-Plus Experience - From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the staff spoiled up with goodness. The hotel is well maintained, great morning breakfast, room was lovely, deck jacuzzi amazing and hotel location in town perfect.
- Garth (10/5): - It was clean and comfortable.
Key cards were different. A little cumbersome. Not a big issue.
- Laurel (8/5): - My husband and I enjoyed the fact that the hotel was so conveniently located. We could walk to just about everywhere. However, the hot tub on the fourth floor was a little disappointing. Quite small, realistically only about a four person Jacuzzi.
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Jose (10/5): - Excellent location. Nice and quiet. Within walking distance to everything. Very comfortable bed and big shower.
- Jessica (6/5): Great staff and great location but a poor room that kept breaking and had insane foot traffic. - The location was perfect! Central, on the main strip, above some of the best food and coffee available, and not far from the beach club. The staff was also very kind and super responsive when anything went wrong. The room itself had many issues. We had to get a plumber 3+ times because the toilet would stop flushing, the tv sound wasnt working, then the tv itself wouldn't turn on, and the room they placed us in was right outside the lobby where the continental breakfast was so we paid for a king suite just to be woken up at all hours of the night and morning by people hanging out right outside our door and the workers loudly going into the supply closet connected to our room. Again, the staff was super kind and attentive when we had issues but this room should be way cheaper for the amount of noise/traffic right outside the door and the amount of issues it has.
- Jeremy (8/5): - Nice location. Pretty dated building however and the breakfast is breads and cereal.
- Robert (10/5): - Hotel Metropole in Avalon was an absolute dream! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay so enjoyable. Our room was fantastic and very spacious, with an elegant bathroom boasting beautifully smelling amenities. The hot tub offered incredible views, and the hotel's perfect central location meant everything was easily walkable. Highly recommend!
- Rigoberto (10/5): - Great place to stay.
- Monica (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Rooms are great, and beds are very comfortable. Love the the continental breakfast and hot tub on the roof.
