• Moonoh (2/5): Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful! - Worst breakfast experience ever. One waitress who gave menu to us then we didn’t see her for half an hour. She brought coffees out but didn’t take order. Started clearing three tables and then left them half cleared and still didn’t take order. We eventually ordered and never received our fruit juices. Toast felt like it was three days old, scrambled egg tasted like it was a pre-mix, selection of jams and jellies was one small serving of guava jelly that was like liquid. As for the butter-not butter of even margarine but a cheap warm spread. Complained at front desk and they didn’t seem to care at all. Bengt, you should be ashamed of yourself for letting this once good hotel and restaurant become so unfocused towards its customers!
• C3191WSamberm (10/5): Romantic Old Colonial West Indian Charm - I highly recommend The Grenadine House for its old-world, vintage travel charm. Staying here feels like stepping back into the golden era of travel — not only in ambiance, but in the graciousness of the staff. I had the pleasure of staying twice last month. During our first visit as a couple, we arrived to find a belated anniversary message beautifully arranged on our duvet in fresh bougainvillea, hibiscus, and palm fronds. We were completely blown away by the care and thoughtfulness. The colonial West Indies charm is felt throughout the house — plantation wicker furnishings, nostalgic fabrics, and a true vintage travel aesthetic. Our room was located just across from reception, so I was initially concerned about noise. Happily, it was quiet and peaceful. The covered balcony offered privacy, shade, and protection from the rain, with lovely views over the courtyard, Kingstown, and the bustling port beyond. There is also an elevated viewing patio exclusively for hotel guests — an ideal spot to watch the sunset as ships light up and disappear into the horizon while sipping the welcome rum punch. Dinner is served in a lovely stone-encased dining room with romantic corner tables and air conditioning. The cocktail seating area is particularly charming, featuring vintage movie star photographs and an antique wooden bar as its centerpiece. Dining overall is relaxed and unassuming, whether on the covered patio or in the courtyard. The menu offers fresh seafood, island-style local dishes, and tropical cocktails. The complimentary breakfast is light and healthy, with optional add-ons for heartier fare. For coffee enthusiasts, I recommend requesting an espresso or cappuccino. Tea is more traditional in this part of the hemisphere, and coffee tends to be mild or instant — embracing the local rhythm is part of the experience. One of the hotel’s bonuses is its location — within a 10-minute walk of the historic St. Vincent Botanical Gardens, the oldest botanical garden in the Western Hemisphere. Morning visits are best, when temperatures are cooler. The gardens are pleasantly diverse for their size, and you’ll gain much more from the experience by hiring a local guide — just $6 USD for an hour. Some trees date back to the era of Bligh and Cook, and the aviary offers a chance to observe the beautiful St. Vincent parrots. The pool area is nicely secluded, with a spa adjacent. My husband enjoyed a last-minute massage they graciously arranged just before closing. One small note: be sure to ask at check-in if any poolside events are scheduled. During one afternoon of our stay, a children’s party disrupted the otherwise tranquil atmosphere. For couples and business travelers seeking respite, this may be something to consider. Hopefully, the property will consider keeping the pool area more consistently serene. On my return visit as a solo traveler, the staff welcomed me back as though I were already a regular. That warmth speaks volumes. Job well done.

Good location within easy walking distance to the Botanical Gardens and a short taxi ride to the port. 10/10, would stay here again on any return trips to St Vincent!
• Trip03383690980 (8/5): Perfect for brief stay in Kingstown - Perfect for a brief stay in Kingstown. Rooms well appointed and colonial in style. Balcony had great views however the garden next to the hotel had fires lit a couple of times which stopped us sitting outside. Breakfast was simple (oatmeal, fruit, breadbasket) but well made. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool was quiet and doesn’t seem to be used by many guests at all.

• lizkM9073XY (10/5): Unexpected flight cancellation allowed us to discover a true gem. - Our flight was cancelled and we were rebooked 6 days later. Sandals didn’t have room for us so we found the Grenadine House. The hotel staff is fabulous, friendly and so very helpful. They provided wonderful accommodations, food and recommendations for us to enjoy our remaining days. They made arrangements for taxis and guided us to great beaches on St. Vincent and Bequai. Explained how to take the ferry and arranged a taxi for us on Bequai. We really enjoyed this last week and unexpected extended stay because of the wonderful staff at the Grenadine House.
• samanthagI9115TC (10/5): Romantic Honeymoon destination. - We spent a few nights here on honeymoon. A beautiful guest house, with style, great staff and easy access to everything you could want. Our room was spectacular, with well planned decor in keeping with the style of the property. The bed was so comfortable, lovely crisp white sheets and everything you could ask for. An outstanding touch is the provision of mosquito repellent in the room, which many people may need when out and about and in order to full enjoy the beautiful views in the evening. So thoughtful! I was particularly delighted to see that the staff had dressed it with beautiful local flowers to mark our event! Rooms have great aircon, but we didn't need overnight as building is well designed for local temperatures. Views are stunning. The pool area a real oasis with some shade available in heat of day. The restaurant and food were good and the seating area lovely. Don't expect fast service (but why would you in such a beautiful place, it is the Caribbean!) but you will get a smile and any minor issues are resolved quickly. Staff were excellent across the board. Cocktails excellent amd seafood pasta exceptional.
• charlotteclaire85 (10/5): family stay before Bequia - Myself, my husband and two small children have just (sadly!) returned home after a lovely trip to SVG. We started the trip with 2 nights at Grenadine House, the transfer to the hotel was seamless with a friendly pick up at the airport from Grant in a spacious taxi, who helped us with our extensive luggage! It was a long flight, so it was lovely to be welcomed by the GM, Isola and the team, with some cool flannels and cold drinks. The accommodation was a two bedroom suite, with ample space for us all with air con throughout - perfect for families. The hotel is heritage style with plenty of rustic charm and great views from the roof terrace. The food was a highlight – highly recommend the French toast and delicious banana bread at breakfast and the dinner menu was good value and generous portions. All the team we encountered were kind and helpful and although we got the impression it is more typically a hotel for couples, they made my children feel very welcome. There is a swimming pool which was great to cool off and my elder daughter used every day. We travelled onto the sister hotel Bequia Beach Hotel via express ferry and would highly recommend this for a luxury beach break. Thank you Grenadine House for such a great start to our holiday in SVG!
• Jesmond (10/5): 60th Birthday Party - I was very impressed with the hotel after I had contacted them from the UK to arrange my wife's birthday dinner. From the very start their communication was prompt and when we arrived on the island, I arranged a meeting with Isola who was excellent at dealing with my many questions. She organised the menu and decorations and was there on the night to ensure everything ran smoothly. Our waitresses on the night were also very good, chatting to the guests and insisted on taking lots of photos for us. Particular praise goes to Aisha (excuse the spelling) who was lovely. Everyone and, most importantly, the birthday girl had a very enjoyable evening. Well Done!

• Go608383 (10/5): Grenadine House is worth coming back to. - The staff were very friendly and the hotel and gardens were well maintained. They did not hesitate to solve any minor issues that arose. They did this with pleasure. You can tell when someone loves their job. My wife and I as well as a friend stayed there, and we all came to the conclusion that we would come back. The decor was well curated and has a Colonial Caribbean feel with lots of historical relics and nautical information on the walls. People from all over the world were there. We sat at the pool at 10pm with our feet in the water. It was so warm and relaxing. The food was amazing and the view overlooking the town below, backed by the Grenadine Islands on the horizon is worth 1000 words. A friend of ours may be getting married there later this year. It is extremely likely that we will be flying back for another stay. You guys are amazing.

They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The rooms and grounds were clean, the food was good, and the view of Kingstown was spectacular. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again. I must mention Keisha who worked in the restaurant, her delightful personality was captivating.

The staff is friendly and helpful, bed super comfortable, breakfast and all food (and local juices) was delicious. Great location- including just a short walk to the Botanical Gardens. We loved everything about our stay. The hospitality was phenomenal - with staff sharing some local spices, culinary wisdom and delicacies. So much appreciated! We just extended our stay and look forward to coming back again.

• 652lr (10/5): Convenient Historic Locale - The Grenadine House is in a historic building in Kingstown just up the hill from the main street. Very comfortable with nice decor reminding you that you’re in the Caribbean. They set me up with Grant who gave me a great tour up each side of the island over two days. I was able to visit La Soufriere volcano, Black Point Tunnel, and the POC film sites. The GH had nice food and a bar. They included breakfast but should have made the Vincy breakfast a free option as the salt fish was delicious!

• Karen L (10/5): - This is a unique small boutique hotel. The taxi I had arranged from the airport to the hotel never showed up even though I had the confirmation in writing. The welcome drink was never delivered to the restaurant for me. My room had water on the bathroom floor when I checked in. I waited over 75 minutes for two tacos to be served. Sounds bad so why did I give it 5 stars?! I gave it five stars because the hotel was actually very quant. It was kept pretty clean for being an older building. The people were lovely and nice. It was a convenient location. The food was very good. It was quiet and relaxing. The view was lovely. Looking at the island I felt like this was a gem and I was happy I selected it. The people knew my name after day one and each time I returned I was warmly welcomed. I would recommend it.

• lisaNJ452 (10/5): One night stay - Stayed for one night before going to Sandals. The staff was Fabulous, the rooms were well appointed and clean with updated bathroom. Really great service at the restaurant and the hotel set up our transfers. Highly recommend staying here. I would most definitely return. The only issue I had was the pillows were really uncomfortable.
• Saed (2/5): - Oh please don’t stay at this hotel. The pictures look good but the reality is different. The place smells like mold, the pool area is neglected and old (you’re on your own to find dry cushions), and breakfast will take 30 minutes (if it arrives at all). Reception staff seems to be absent most of the time and when you ring the bell someone might shout at you from the restaurant (and the cab that you asked for might not arrive at all). Worst of all was the mattress and pillows. If the room wasn’t 200 USD a night I wouldn’t have written this review but at this price tag I expect some value and service. Sorry and thank you.

• sheridanr2023 (8/5): a very good small hotel - We stayed for two nights at either end of a holiday on Bequia. The rooms are of high quality and the hotel is very well appointed. The room service was excellent and the staff were all very good. The service in the restaurant had improved from last year when the waiting was too long even allowing for it being the Caribbean. The quality of the food was high. The view over the town and harbour if you had a sea view room was excellent and many of these rooms had balconies. The pool area was also good.

Breakfast the next morning was great and whilst the pool area appeared tired, it was pleasant to sit in the sun until it was time to leave for our ferry. Good location for Kingstown amenities and port.

They were very accommodating of early arrivals/ late departures and helped us arrange a private day tour. The pool and spa were a welcome addition and we ate many of our meals there. Thanks for a relaxing and enjoyable stay! Oh the cool towel and welcome rum punch were very appreciated.
• E7557QIrachels (10/5): A wonderful, interesting and tranquil stay - The hotel is lovely and peaceful with a historic feel. We stayed in a bay view room with balcony which had wonderful views overlooking the town and sea, it had an easy to use aircon (some hotel aircons aren't very intuitive) and a ceiling fan. We used the gym and the pool which we had to ourselves most of the time which was great. The staff were wonderful, attentive and polite, going out of their way to make us feel welcome. We had an issue with the hot water being cold they immediately tried to fix it they couldn't initially so offered us another room, but our room was so nice I didn't want to change, it didn't take long for them to fix it. The food was exceptional and included seasonal local and international dishes, I particularly liked their rotis, fish burger and rum punch. The staff were happy to organise our trips when we asked and where very helpful when we needed advice on places to visit. I can not say enough about how good Grenadine house and its staff were. We were very sad to leave and will stay here again if we come back to St Vincent. (I miss the sound of the morning cockral from town too).

• Michelle (4/5): - I’ve visited SVG many times as a business traveler and stayed at another property without issues. This time around I chose Grenadine house since it’s close to my office. The first surprise was finding Bop and Off sitting on the side table. My room was filled with mosquitoes and I wanted to leave the first night. I did not sleep that night. In 2024 a guest finds Bop and Off in their room? Come on guys!! The next morning my colleague sprayed the room upon my pick up and I prayed there won’t be any Boo smell in the room upon my return since I’m allergic to high smelling sprays. Allergies must be taken into consideration before placing insecticides in a hotel room. I was so disappointed to find a room with outdated furniture and decor, old fraying mats on the floor and a cable service that never worked in the 7 nights I stayed there. Suffice it to say, I will not be returning. On my final night I wanted some tea, only to discover there was no adapter to plug the kettle into. Can do better especially for the price. Just disgraceful. Happy to be home!!
• SufromTheNorth (6/5): Nice hotel but unwelcoming staff - We stayed here after leaving their sister hotel on Bequia. Collected from the early ferry on our last day and given a room until 4pm (when we were collected for the airport). Arrived at 7.30am and the Receptionists looked surprised to see us. Room not ready, despite being quiet and all prebooked by their sister hotel a few days before?! Told to go for breakfast and was served by a very pushy manager. One local breakfast and one English, sausage or bacon not both offered. Sat for a while until our room was ready. Room itself was lovely, nicely decorated and clean. Large bathroom. 3 pin uk plugs a bonus. Safe, ironing board, good hairdryer, air con and wi fi. After resting from our early start we went to the pool and had to go back into Reception to ask for sunlounger covers and umbrellas to be put up. Pool area very untidy and unwelcoming. Good views down to the harbour. We changed and relaxed in the room. Decided to stay for lunch as it was Independence Day, but were told it was a local buffet selection or I could have pizza (which I ordered). Local buffet, ordered by my husband, was poor and several locals were heard complaining. The pizza was ok. (Other people were served club sandwiches or burgers, which I would have preferred but wasn't offered). Overall we were grateful for the use of the room, but did feel the staff let us down.

• sussexrowmark (10/5): A fine place to stay - Perched above Kingstown with fine views from the terrace restaurant, this is a calm and stylish place to stay. It is a lovely building with a lovely pool. Our superior room was large and bright with necessary air conditioning. Good food. We were able to walk down to the market and port, also up to the delightful Botanical Garden.

• Akeem Keanmore (4/5): - We had breakfast on the first day and the breakfast which came with the package wasn’t even enough. We ordered a breakfast from the menu and the paid breakfast portion was just as small. I’ve never seen fruit cut so small and thin in guest service. Maybe something to consider for improvement especially when competing with international standards. Thank you for the hospitality especially to the ladies in room service and the wonderful young ladies at front desk.

• H5152PVrobertd (10/5): Charming Hotel - Grenadine House is a small, but charming hotel in Kingstown. It has only 18 rooms. But the rooms have character. I was upgraded to a superior room, with a king-size bed. It was spacious and comfortable. When I went to the restaurant for dinner, I was greeted warmly by Keisha. She provided excellent service during my five-night stay. The food was tasty and I had a nice view from the restaurant's terrace. A continental breakfast is included, but if you want extras, you will have to pay. I enjoyed the banana crepes. I also liked the Vincy breakfast--Cod fish and bakes with fried plantains. Sundays are very peaceful in St. Vincent. I spent much of the day at the hotel's swimming pool. I sat on the steps with my body submerged in the clear water and my head above water. It was refreshing. Then I went to my lounge chair to relax. The staff at the hotel arranged island tours, both on St. Vincent and for a day trip to Bequia. I enjoyed my stay here very much.

• asheikac (2/5): Worst experience ever!! - Used this hotel for a event and it was the worst experience doing business with them. The staff was rude, aggressive and unprofessional. The hotel's management did not meet the basic requirements agreed upon though they were paid more then their deposit. Would never recommend to anyone. Will never go back...

Those who were exceptionally friends and helpful were Keisha, Ashante (an intern), and L'Audra (please pardon me if I misspelled your name). The decor and furnishings were classical yet comfortable and in wonderful shape. I would not hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay while in St. Vincent!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet, centrally located hotel - Grenadine House is an old historical house circa 1765, built for the British administrator of the islands. We loved our room and even more, the view from our balcony. The key to the inroom safety deposit box looked domewhat different. Service was great with everyone being so gracious & helpful. The restaurant served scrumptious dishes, albeit pricy. The only obvious con is it's far from the beach. We'd stay there again if we find ourselves in Kingstown again.
• Stewart (10/5): - This unique property is lovely to stay in; beautifully modernized without losing its character. The only comment I would like to make regarding improvement is that, as there is no elevator, it would be most helpful to have staff assistance with luggage, when checking in and out.

• Prabhjot (8/5): - Room was ok for a business trip of one night. Staff was attentive and friendly. The hotel is located atop a hill which is a bit of a walk from downtown but nothing too taxing. Views are stunning. Beware of the mosquitoes, tropical country and lush greenery so you can't help it much.

• Timothy (10/5): Lovely hotel in all respects - We only stayed one night on pur way to Bequia, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel arranged a taxi pick-up from the airport, and then to the ferry port the next day. Dinner and breakfast were both very good, and the room and bed were very comfortable.
• Trevor (10/5): - Grenadine House is a lovely characterful property in a wonderful position overlooking bustling Kingstown. We stayed for seven nights and used it as a base to see the island, with transportation and guides easy to arrange via the hotel. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and helpful, and the hotel is both a great place to relax in as well as it doing good food, plus it’s just a walk to the botanical gardens or into the bustling town.
• Catherine (10/5): - Booked a 2 night stay here on our way to Bequia Beach Hotel (partner hotel). We had a lovely stay in this hotel with lots of charm - rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. West Indies Bar was a pleasant hangout for a drink. Breakfast was good and filling. We also ate lunch and dinner in the hotel. The meal we had in the restaurant was excellent - good choices and very tasty. Only downside was the mosquitoes but each room had room spray and body protection. Would not hesitate to stay here agai.
• Eve (8/5): - Lovely old house and nicely equipped room. Right in the middle of city streets, but the property itself was quite nice. I had booked a massage for the evening I got in, around 6.30, but the spa staff decided to leave earlier so no luck. Food was good. De'andra at the front desk was fantastic and took all sorts of initiatives to keep me on track.
• Beachplease87 (8/5): Nice stay - Had a good stay for a weekend before leaving for another island. The staff was always friendly and very helpful. All email responses were prompt. They can assist in transfers and excursions. The location can’t be beat. Nice view over the port, and within walking distance if you wanted to walk down into the city. The hotel has significant historical meaning, which the staff will tell you about upon arrival. With that said, our room was extremely small. It was hard for two people to change or get around in the morning at the same time. The bed was uncomfortably firm as well. Also keep in mind, this hotel is located within the city. The noise can be heard all night, mostly in the way of barking dogs and roosters. All in all, good home base for a weekend. I would stay here again.
• Y2504JGelizabethm (8/5): Very good stop en route to Bequia - We received a warm welcome (and a rum punch) on arrival after a long journey via Barbados. Our room was comfortable with a large balcony. Dinner was very tasty and efficiently served. Likewise breakfast. The transfers from the airport and to the ferry were handled smoothly. We stayed for one night only as we were heading for the sister hotel in Bequia, but this was a very good way to make that journey.

• garyandmaria2014 (10/5): Wonderful stay in a hotel with history - Well maintained hotel with friendly staff and management who care about their guests. The rooms are clean, well furnished and have large beds. Every morning we enjoyed a well-organized breakfast in the West Indies Bar. The hotel has an excellent kitchen staff: among other things, we ate the best-tasting fish dish in years. We certainly hope to come back here again.

The room was beautiful, tastefully decorated in the historic island decor, very comfortable, super clean. The bar and restaurant will accommodate you fully and the pool will not disappoint. It’s got an unforgettable view, please book a room with a balcony facing the ocean, and come! There isn’t a better place!
