- allyson (7/5): Attentive check-in but more attention to service and maybe more options to local cuisines. - Location around Suva. Newly renovated. Bedrooms comfortable and great products. Breakfast was good. Front check-in excellent as well as the Porter. The bar near the waterfront was not staffed sufficiently, had to constantly ask for our order. Maybe during happy hour a few complimentary snacks. Dinner menu maybe a few local options.
- VirgoQualitySeeker47 (10/5): Lovely relaxing hotel with lovely staff - We stayed at the Grand Pacific for 11 nights in May and had a lovely relaxing stay. The staff are lovely , so helpful and friendly. The hotel hosts a lot of conferences but it didn’t interfere with our stay as they were in a big conference suite. The pool area is nice with a view of fishing ships out at sea. There is also a bar with comfortable seats nr the pool. The original old part of the hotel is lovely with lots of photos of Queen Elizabeth from her visit in the 1950’s. Dining on the terrace overlooking the pool and ocean is a lovely setting and the food and service good. Our room was comfortable and cleaned every day, hanging space in the wardrobe not very big but there were additional shelves available. Shower room was spacious with plenty of towels and bathrobes provided. The only irritation was small tour groups coming to look round and take photos on several mornings, presumably when a cruise ship was in Suva .

- 397josephb (2/5): A Significant Disappointment for a Milestone Celebration - Bula, My wife and I chose the Grand Pacific Hotel to celebrate our 30th anniversary, hoping for an experience comparable to the Westin Moana Surfrider or other high-end plantation-style lodgings we’ve enjoyed in the past. Unfortunately, this stay was a major letdown. Room Condition & Cleanliness The room was simply not up to standard. It felt dirty, and we even woke up with pieces of scotch tape stuck to our bodies from the bedding. As shown in the attached photos, the patio screen was torn and the furniture showed noticeable wear. We did not get a good night's rest here. Service & Dining Breakfast was another low point. We ordered coffee twice and it never arrived, so we eventually had to get up and make our own. The service was significantly lacking for a hotel of this caliber. Departure Because of our experience, we contacted Toberua Island directly to arrange an early pickup at 10:30 AM so we could depart this property. Final Thoughts For a property with this reputation, the lack of maintenance and basic service is unacceptable—especially for such a special occasion. - GtW1234557899 (10/5): Emergent stay!! - We stayed in the heritage part of the hotel and had a lovely suite facing the Albert park. It was a cosy suite with lot of history. Loved sitting on the balcony most days and watching the hum drum in the park. Gin and tea of the hotel is truly legendary!! Location is perfect. Albert park on one side of the hotel and the sea on the other. Beautiful!! Really enjoyed the kindness and attentiveness of some of the staff. We were well looked after. Would love to return again and enjoy the hotel. Would like to thank Joy for her masterful cooking. Vani and Rozie for their smiling service. Great housekeeping team. And very helpful front desk. - J0y0us (6/5): A lovely heritage hotel but with a focus on conference bookings. - We were visiting Suva for the day and had hoped to go to the hotel for a nice lunch. However, when we arrived no restaurants were open as there was a huge conference going on there. The only place to eat for non conference clients was the Steamship bar where, luckily we were able to grab a table. As we were a little early for lunch we ordered some drinks. The service was extremely slow, even though the bar was not busy, and when my drink finally arrived my husbands beer had been forgotten. The tables were low so had we decided to go ahead and ordered food we would almost have been eating off our laps. We therefore decided not eat there after all. Such a shame as we had visited the lovey hotel several years ago and wanted to return for a nice experience. Tge focus really seems very much in conference bookings.
- 247Hitt (10/5): Outstanding Hospitality That Brought Us Back Again - Our stay at the Grand Pacific Hotel from April 13–21, 2025 was a truly memorable experience. My son had arranged the trip to celebrate my birthday, and it turned out to be a very special occasion. Although our stay started a little slowly and a few things initially did not meet expectations, what truly made the difference was how the team responded. The General Manager, Robert Clark, along with Maria from Guest Relations, personally stepped in and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay became exceptional. Having travelled extensively around the world and stayed at many high-end properties, I can confidently say that the level of service we experienced from Robert, Maria, and their team was elite. Their professionalism, genuine care, and willingness to go the extra mile for their guests were truly impressive and very much in line with the standards one would expect from leading international hospitality brands. What stood out most was how personally invested they were in ensuring our experience improved and that my birthday celebration became special. That level of attention and leadership from management truly sets a hotel apart. Because of the outstanding service we received, we have decided to return to the Grand Pacific Hotel again at the end of March this year. My son had many options for where to stay in Fiji during our upcoming trip, but I specifically wanted to come back here — which says a great deal about the lasting impression the team made on us. A sincere thank you to Robert, Maria, and the entire team for turning our stay into such a positive and memorable experience. We look forward to visiting again very soon.

It was quiet and relaxing while still being conveniently located in the city, which made it perfect for a peaceful getaway without feeling disconnected. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean, which we really appreciated. However, our main issue during the stay was the air conditioning. Unfortunately, our AC wasn’t cooling properly. Although we made multiple complaints and a staff member came up to inspect it and mentioned he would return with a ladder to change the filters, he never came back. From check-in to check-out, the issue was not resolved, which was disappointing. Now onto the food. Our first lunch experience was not ideal as my chicken schnitzel was served undercooked. That could have really affected our overall impression, but our waiter, Ioane, completely turned the situation around. His apology was genuine, and he went above and beyond to make sure our experience improved. He checked in frequently, ensured our mood wasn’t affected, and even arranged complimentary cocktails for my partner and me. His service truly made us feel at home. Vinaka Ioane. Dinner the following night was delicious, and I would highly recommend the Honey Fire Ham. Overall, GPH is clean, relaxing. With better attention to maintenance issues, it would be an exceptional stay.

- pepperpearl (10/5): Worth a visit to Suva! - I highly recommend this hotel and my Suva itinerary if you were to fly into Nadi in the wee hours of the morning. Reservation: As a loyal IHG member with their Mastercard, I was able to utilize a free annual anniversary night by reserving in advance at the Hotel Grand Pacific. I chose this over the Holiday Inn next doors (even though the Holiday Inn was a higher value for redemption) because of how iconic this property is known to be. The reservation through the IHG app with my Chase anniversary free night award was flawless. Transportation: I’m emailed the hotel in advance to reserve a private driver. I chose this because I knew the hotel would be responsible for my arrival to their hotel over a 3 hour journey. Our driver was very informative, told us so much about Fiji and the local villages that we saw as we drove by. We did stop at a souvenir shop to use the restrooms and get coffee. Our driver was very honest after we left that he’d get commission if we bought souvenirs and a free coffee if we stopped there. I didn’t mind the stop as we saw a Fijian village on one side of the road and an Indian village on the other side and all the revenue of the souvenirs go towards schools in that area. We arrived at 11am and were pleased our room was ready in 15min. Our same driver picked us up the next day to take us back to Nadi area. No hassle, round trip for 2 adults in a clean private car was $408 FJD total. Check in: Very smooth, no surprises, no hidden fees. Even if you weren’t using a free night, your reservation details would let you know in advance the credit card surcharge, which is common for hotels in Fiji. There is a credit card hold when you check in but it gets returned to you upon checkout. Room: We got upgraded to the wing with names for each suite. Our room was at the corner and ocean front. Huge room and bathroom, though layout was not 100% maximized. French press coffee with coffee grinds and even milk in the fridge. Electric kettle if you prefer to make your own tea. Fast internet and convenient charge ports all over the room. Seating on the balcony with a pathway to walk straight to the pool. Robes, slippers, clean towel’s with it any complaints. Great lighting and recently renovated. Property: As a historic hotel, there are photos of famous people that have stayed there. Highly recommend checking out their hall of fame. When we arrived, they were just setting up the Christmas tree, and were finished by the evening and we snatched early holiday photos there. Gym: Awfully small, but does the trick. Lighting is a bit dark, but be reminded this is an old historic hotel. Great place to go fill up on water even if you are not a work out junkie. Spa: We booked only 45min in advance for a couples massage at $195 FJD total before discretionary tip. Though the lighting wasn’t great, the welcome water was overly sweet and they didn’t have a hot tub or steam room (I can’t remember if f they have a sauna), the massage itself was AMAZING!!! Our masseuses pivot r and catered to every need. I had Prithi and my husband had (for other name!) No small talk all business in getting your knots fixed and your mind relaxed. Had we stayed longer we definitely would’ve gone back! Restaurant: We had dinner at Prince Albert Restaurant. Prior to my arrival, I read mixed reviews, though mostly positive. Given it was pouring and we could make a reservation through OpenTable and collect points, we decided to dine there. Surprisingly, dinner was not too expensive (or perhaps it was relative to a night out where we live, in San Diego California). Very attentive staff, though not 100% coordinated (we are on an island after all). Food was fantastic, it was modern Fijian fusion. We had beer and wine and though more expensive than restaurants in town, it was not outrageous. Location: We spent our time beating jet lag by checking out everything within walking distance you can find on TripAdvisor: - MHCC Mall (only mall open on Sundays with a cheap supermarket to stock up - Fiji Museum (8:30am- 4:30pm), 6min walk from hotel - Right by hotel: Albert Park, Thurston Gardens, Suva Bowling Club Children’s Park (great bar watching spots!) - Presidential Palace - Suva Municipal Market (6am-6pm), 17min walk from hotel <- closed Sunday - Cummins street - Coffee Hub opens at 8am, great for breakfast - Cafe Moments is great for lunch Summary: Highly recommend this place for a traveler that likes a higher end place to sleep/unwind and more adventurous, potentially outside comfort zone when awake to explore and build new memories. Please consider staying here! Staff is amazing and I heard it will soon become an Intercontinental property (one of my favorite chains) and could soon go up in pricing.
- 314zellas (10/5): Experience Fijian Hospitality - Excellent service delivered with genuine Fijian hospitality. Credit to the wonderful staff who run this place and treat every guest with kindness and warmth — it truly makes a difference. The people are what gives any building life. I travelled for work and stayed for a week, and my experience was positive from check-in to check-out. The amenities were clean, the rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable, and the in-room service was of great quality and did not disappoint. One suggestion for GPH’s consideration: I noticed some variations in the room rates during my stay. When I queried this, I was advised that rates varied depending on availability of that time/day. It would be helpful if this information could be clearly communicated at the time of booking or during check-in to avoid any surprises at check-out (I’m not sure if this is already outlined in the fine print on the website though my apologies if it is). Location was good for walking to the museum and garden nearby . Very friendly cheerful staff.Breakfast offered many choices.. The evening ceremony of beating the big drum while lighting the torches outside was very charming . Nearest beach is 45 minutes drive away . There is an abundance of small ,plastic water bottles in rooms which is in direct conflict with idea of environmental protection. Service is on a very slow island pace.

I was able to undertake reservations via Booking.com from - Close to the city centre, excellent breakfast, 5* accom, friendly staff When I extended my stay, nobody told me that when the first booking ends, the room card would not work! Found out for myself
- D'Silva (4/5): Upgrade needs to be done to the rooms, common rest room areas as they hotel is old & lacks upkeep. - Location of the hotel for sunset is the only thing that captivates a visitor. Staff were courteous. The first day we had breakfast in the dining area it was full of flies. We sent an email to the General Manager who sent us the standard response. There was certainly action taken after our complaint!! Overall cleanliness in the common areas. We understand it was summer but there were also cockroaches and we came across at two. One that was dead and lying in the area for a while and the other came close to my feet when I had to take necessary action. Also if we did not check our bill there was a charge for item purchased with cash and then put on the room bill!!!

(9/5): Super Hotel mit Luft nach oben - Das Hotel hat ein sehr gutes Restaurant mit einem sehr guten Frühstücksangebot, das Parken ist kostenlos, der Pool schön groß zum schwimmen, das Essen im Restaurant ist tadellos Leider liegt es manchmal an so kleinen Dingen, damit alles perfekt ist, ich habe die Maintenance auf lose Türen auf dem Board und einen losen Griff in der Dusche aufmerksam gemacht, nur einer wurde ordentlich neu befestigt, auch musste man darauf hinweisen, das mal auf der Terrasse gekehrt werden muss, beim Rundgang durch das alte Haus in der 1. Etage sind mir an den Wänden viele kleine Ameisen aufgefallen, warum muss das erst der Gast sehen, warum sieht das nicht das Personal,all das habe ich auch angesprochen und schreibe es nicht nur hier, das sind sicherlich Kleinigkeiten, aber für diesen hohen Preis verlangt man Perfektion, viel schwerer wiegt, das der alte Stile des Hauses nicht mehr erhalten ist, der wurde mit dem Abriss der Flügel für immer zerstört, auch passt die Zimmerausstattung im Anbau nicht zum alten Style des Hauses, das wird bestimmt auch nicht mehr durch diese riesige Hotelgruppe IHG gelöst

Staff are lovely and always ready to help. Ambience is nice. Food could be better as it’s super expensive if you do room service etc. please try their GPH signature cocktail. It’s really nice. Overall we had a good time.
- Maire (6/5): Confortable, Élégant, Situation centrale parfaite, Agréable - Le decor du hall de l'hotel et le jardin face à la mer sont très beaux et invite au repos. Le spa est accueillant et accessible en prix. Au check-in, le personnel est accueillant et efficace. La situation géographique est idéale: face à la mer, à Albert Park, au Musée, près du centre ville. Le coffee shop permet d'accueillir des visiteurs. Les différents lieux de repas/boisson offrent une variété de vue et ambiance. Le petit-déjeuner est parfait, bravo ! Les repas sont bons. Le service restauration est à améliorer : trop lent à intervenir et livrer les commandes (même pour du thé ou de l'eau), nos soupes n'ont pas été commandé, les cocktails pourraient être meilleurs. Le staff a besoin de formation supplémentaire et savoir ajuster leur écoute et attention aux besoins des clients. Les carreaux sol de la salle de bain et douche sont glissants et donc dangereux. J'ai du rajouter des serviettes au sol. Le décor des chambres est pauvre, sans personnalité, pour un hotel fidjien qui se veut royal. Il y avait une grosse marre d'eau dans le couloir - surement une fuite depuis un des murs. Aucune ambiance/animation fidjienne en musique douce au moins.

Not everyone prefers continental brekkie for five straight days. Would have preferred some more hot choice, like roti, curry, chutney etc. Sliding Screen door was tight n not easy to slide. As mentioned above. Plus replenishment of milk, water etc could have been better, however I must mention that they were promptly supplied with requests being made.
