Guest Reviews
- Hannah (10/5): -
- Gwendolin (10/5): - They had the bug screens, and despite being a Farm with a lot of nature around us, there was not a single bug in our house.
All the utensils provided will also very well maintained and very easy to use Everything was wonderful, and there wasn’t anything that I was not happy about the property.
- Izabella (8/5): -
- Alora (10/5): - The property was huge so even with a lot of people staying it still felt really isolated. The animals were gorgeous to go visit throughout the day and there were playgrounds and trampolines near every cottage. Some of the play equipment and trampolines were very old and weather-damaged. But that’s to be expected so wasn’t a huge deal

- Cranley (9/5): -

- Margot (10/5): Wonderful. We will be back - We love this place. The new Trampolines were a highlight for the kids
- Karen (8/5): -
- Jessica (9/5): - Great playground equipment for the kids to enjoy. Loved the little extras included like cereal and jams with bread for your first breakfast. Very relaxing.
- Philip (10/5): A really beautiful place - The kids loved feeding the animals, making friends with other children staying there, and the careful attention of the staff to our needs. There was bread and milk in the fridge when we arrived, firewood ready to make a fire in the fireplace. There were trampolines for the kids, and many of the animals roamed free and all were very friendly. There isn't much to be unhappy about. It was really very good.

- julie (9/5): We had a great time, even in the rain. We will be back. - The feedings were very interactive. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Plenty for the kids to do and accomodation was comfortable and clean. We will be back.
- Philip (10/5): Brilliant family getaway - We had an amazing time here, our daughter loved loved loved feeding the animals. The location is great just outside the town and the accommodation has brilliant facilities with everything you need. Dani the manager couldn't have been nicer to us, we would highly recommend for families.
- Huan (8/5): -
- Windon (10/5): Quick Farmstay - That we were able to relax but had somewhere our 1 year old could explore. She loved being able to sit in the high chair and see the emus while she ate.
- Antonietta (10/5): Beautiful , clean and close to main centre - Awesome property , staff are amazing and very helpful . Danni was very helpful and made our stay enjoyable .
- Niamh (10/5): -
- Mike (10/5): A great holiday stay. - It was a self catering accommodation. It lacked nothing, plenty of cutlery, crockery and pans, there was a full size electric oven and a gas hob, a full size fridge freeze, comfortable lounge furniture, dinning table, a large bathroom and good sizee bedrooms with comfortable beds. Nothing not to like in this accommodation.
- WENYAN (10/5): -
- Joelle (10/5): Absolutely amazing! An animal lovers dream stay! - This is the second time we have stayed here and it is somewhere we love and are always sad to leave.
The farm is adorable and the cottages are so comfortable and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The kitchen is greatly equipped so we didn’t need to go out for dinner and we were able to cook every night. It’s only a 7 min drive from the main shops (supermarkets, pharmacy etc) and Dani the farm manager is so kind and welcoming.
It’s so peaceful and quiet and we especially love that it is pet friendly and all the cottages being fenced off is great for the dogs. Having Alpacas roaming around is a treat and the animal feedings are amazing as you can interact with them and they bring so much joy.
We love Margaret River Hideaway and recommend it to anyone who is an animal lover and just wants to stay in a cosy environment.

It was a very relaxing stay- we wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return. There is absolutely nothing negative to say regarding this property.
- Eloise (10/5): - Nice cottage, clean with everything you need and more. The farm is lovely and peaceful with animals roaming around, playgrounds and the kids (and big kids) are able to feed the animals in the morning.
- Jo-Anne (8/5): Had a lovely time. Highly recommend to families with little kids. - Child friendly …lots of great play areas.
Excellent animal feeding opportunities. Fruendly animals. Very Cold in the beds near the window

- Raymond (8/5): Interesting and fun stay ..will return again if travel with young kids .. - Great location. Near town. The furnishing is a bit outdated especially the kitchen...otherwise...the cottage is very cosy and have lots of free roaming animal friends...fun especially for the kids. Kitchen is a bit old...
- Suanlee (9/5): Great place to stay with kids - Loved being able to feed the animals in the morning and having plenty of room for our 3yo to play. The breakfast in the fridge on our arrival was perfect since we got In a bit late and wanted a slow morning. The location is central and the staff were really lovely. No complaints

- Louise (8/5): We had a great stay, thank you -
- Dee (9/5): Recommend it. We will be back in future. - Location

Spacious
Yard big enough for our German Shepherds Master bedroom bed was a little small and not too comfortable
- Damitha (10/5): This is a very good holiday stay. We had a great time - Very relaxing, comfortable. Nothing
- Rhine (8/5): -
- Sean (7/5): Nice relaxing place to rejuvenate. - Great for 2 few families to stay and enjoy doing their own cooking. Not ideal for city like people like my wife who only enjoys shopping and eating at restaurants.
- Weixian (9/5): -
- Rongsheng (9/5): - Everything apart from the bathroom One more bathroom will be good
- Chzing Benjamin (7/5): Good experience - Free eggs! And the free ranging Alpacas were fun to play with. Trampoline was the winner for the kiddos! Great space for large groups to dine and mingle together. More animals to pet and feed and more farm activities for the kids to be involved in will be a better experience. Good to provide laundry facilities per unit.
- Cisilia (9/5): Good place to stay especially with family - Pretty cottages and comfortable Should give us cleaning tools like broom or vacuum
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- shao xiang (10/5): -
- Mica (10/5): -
- Lucy (10/5): -
- Derek (8/5): Great for kids - Private and cosy units. Waking up in the day to animals freely roaming the property.
- kasturi (9/5): - We loved the house and the farm.
- Melissa (10/5): Lovely relaxing family holiday - Loved the location and the facilities. Having a few basics provided for breakfast was great. The kids really enjoyed the hands on aspect of the animal feeding and the playground facilities.
- Gavin (10/5): - Great host and facilities Hard bed and not used to a smaller bed than our king .
- Martin (10/5): - We had another wonderful stay at Margaret River Hideaway & Farmstay with our two kids. The staff were as friendly and welcoming as ever, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The rooms have been renovated since our last visit in 2020 — they’re now more spacious and modern, which we really appreciated. The only small downside is that the new bright white lighting takes away a little of the cosy cottage charm we remembered.
Our kids absolutely loved the farm activities and meeting the animals, which continue to be the highlight of every stay. The property’s location is also excellent — close to town and the highway, making it easy to explore everything Margaret River has to offer. Overall, still a fantastic family getaway and one we’d happily return to.
- Hagit (10/5): -
- Rebekah (9/5): Throughly enjoyable - Peaceful, clean.
- Rong (10/5): -
- li (7/5): -
- Wei Jie (10/5): Lovely stay - The stay was perfect for our family. The kids loved the morning feeds and the sand pits. The cottages were well equipped and the electric blankets were a welcome surprise for the cool spring nights.
- Kok Heng (10/5): Truly unique experience! - Excellent experience Nope besides rain…
- Yves (8/5): - Les lits chauffants !
La cuisine très bien équipée avec des plaques et un four super larges L'emplacement du bungalow, le seul à proximité de la route, donc un peu bruyant notamment dans la 2ème chambre
- QI (10/5): Overall, a wonderful farmstay with warm hospitality and a true taste of country life. Highly recommended for families an - We stayed in Cottage 2 for two nights in mid-September and had a very comfortable and memorable farmstay experience.
The cottage was clean and cozy, with a spacious living room, a kitchen, and even a walk-in wardrobe. In this season, the nights were quite cold (below 10°C), but both the air-conditioning and the wood fire kept us warm and comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows opened up to views of open grassland and forest – very peaceful and close to nature.
The kitchen was extremely well-equipped with condiments, oil, utensils, crockery, and appliances. We only needed to bring fresh ingredients. During our stay, we cooked two dinners and two breakfasts, including one BBQ in the garden using the outdoor grill. The hosts also thoughtfully provided fresh farm eggs, local milk, juice, bread, butter, and jam – a very nice touch.
A highlight was the Tuesday morning animal feeding at 8:30 AM. We got to feed and interact closely with alpacas, emus, sheep, and chickens – a fun and memorable experience for both kids and adults. What could be improved: the laundry room was too basic, the bathroom facilities were quite standard, and there were no complimentary disposable toothbrushes provided. It took us 4 hours to drive to the farmstay from Perth.
- Ah Leng (8/5): - Place is well equipped and clean The water heater... either it was too hot or too cold ..
- Brigitte (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised with all the little extras. Milk, juice, cereal, bread, jams, fresh eggs. The animal feeds were fantastic. My granddaughter loved it. Kim was amazing, so happy and helpful, I had a wonderful 3 nights.
- WOON (8/5): Family fun at the farm stay - Comfy stay with access to animal farm feeding. The usage of rooms were restricted based on number of pax. To use the other room, had to top up extra.
- Lincoln (10/5): -
- Chelsea (9/5): - This was recommended by a few friends and it was the perfect choice of accommodation for us in MR.
The hosts were lovely and so friendly, our kids really enjoyed the animal feeding even though it was pouring. The Alpacas and sheep in particular were super cute, and their Scottish Highland cow certainly had character.
Having to start our own fire really called out to the inner 'arsonist' in me. I thoroughly enjoyed that activity each evening. The hosts provided some basic food necessities and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The whole cottage was well kept and the rooms were very comfortable.
Definitely returning when we visit WA again.
- Liwei (5/5): the space and animals makes the stay enjoyable but the dated furniture and bugs in the house didn't. - the animals roaming around facilities need to be updated, esp on play area, a swing was broken 2 yrs ago when we first came and it's still broken now that we returned (after 2 years). There were also bugs/cockroach like insects in the house itself which didn't happen when we were here 2 yrs ago (same month)
- Ru Jun (8/5): -
- Janice (8/5): -
- Sara (8/5): Amazing stay and the kids absolutely loved it! - Lots of activities for kids, lots of space and good location. The farm was well maintained and host was friendly. The cottage was very spacious and well equipped. Lights wasn’t working in one of the bedrooms and wifi signal was non existent or too slow for anything. Washing machine is not within the apartment.
- Amanda (10/5): Fantastic Place - Fantastic place so close to town and so clean.
Danni was amazing made our stay so good!!
Highly recommend!!
Will be back next year!!! Nothing to say loved it all
- Kevin (9/5): Great Getaway from the City - We had a great stay here. Kim is friendly, approachable & responsive thru whatsapp. The place is very clean & the fireplace + bed warmer kept us warm. My daughters thoroughly enjoyed feeding all the animals & play areas. No slippers and toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste etc provided.
- Feng (10/5): It’s our favourite stay and we will always come back when we are at Margaret River. - We chose this property each time we have been to Margaret River. The chalet is very well maintained and feels brand new. Friendly staff, clean and a great place for families. Our favourite is the cute farm animals. Location is very accessible and close by to Margaret River town. A good place to base ourselves while exploring the surrounding area, including the wineries, chocolate factories etc.
- Teo (10/5): Fantastic place to slow down to spend quality time with the family. - Cosy and clean. Kids friendly! None at all
- Foo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cynthia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luciana (10/5): Exceptional - A dishwasher would have been handy
- Livia (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (10/5): Wonderful - The cottage was clean and well equipped. We were very comfortable and there is a firewood stove with plenty of firewood provided. Location was a quick drive to town centre for groceries and food. Many animals freely roaming around and playgrounds for children to explore and play. There is animal feeding on alternate days and the host was very friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful stay and we enjoyed it greatly. Will definitely return when we visit margaret river again Nil
- Oi (8/5): Very good -
- Diana (8/5): ALPACAAASSSSSSSSSS - I am so glad I chose this place as the animals were such a delight ! My friends and I had so much fun wandering around the farm and doing the animal feeding sessions. The animals feeding sessions is not to be missed ! As for the place, it's fairly decent and has a rustic feel to it. The water temperature is hard to grasp as it's either too hot or cold. One side of the bed has a broken heater so my bf was cold throughout the night. Apart from that, this is a farmstay after all so don't expect too much.
- Cassie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joel89 (8/5): Exceeded expectations :) - Dani was a great host and very good with the children. We arrived on a cold day and she already had the heater in our cottage turned on for us so that we could be comfortable the moment we arrived. The cottage we stayed at was clean and bright, with all required amenities available.
We took part in two days of farm feeding, and the session which was hosted by Dani was superb, even the adults enjoyed it. Water was icy cold, an excruciating shower experience lol. Thankfully a mini kid bathtub was provided so we boiled kettles of hot water to shower the kids.
- Whatisvalidname (9/5): Superb -
- Ong (7/5): Overall not bad. - There is bed warmer, the pots and pans are clean Alot of millipedes and ants inside the house.
- Chong (10/5): thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage right beside the emus and fun animal feeding at 830am - managed to align our stay with the 830am animals feeding time slot on tuesdays, the staff who brought us around was very lovely and patient even when kids were being quite loud as they couldve been scared, and handled the animals well. she also ensured everyone had sufficient feed and proactively included anyone who were just watching/shy and provided guidance on feeding the emus, ducks, chickens, sheep, sucha great experience all in all!
they also kindly provided butter, milk, some slices of bread and juice within the kitchen that was very well equipped. the staff also left clear instructions at the reception as we reached after office hours
guest handbook within the accommodation also had a long list of many activities including wineries, food, caves, beaches that the hosts took the time to type up and share with us, including a discount with some wineries! hot water flows can be more consistent as the water turned cold multiple times abruptly in the shower even when the hot water tap was on, had to turn it off, give it some time to get hot and resume but wasnt a major problem for us as we understand we're in the countryside
- Iuliia (10/5): Thank you! - Amazing location, great hosts. The cottages are so cosy and there’s everything you need for a short or longer stay
- Mirari (8/5): Very good -
- Subodh (9/5): Family friendly comfortable stays in well-equipped cottages very close to Margaret River town centre - Lovely farmstay conveniently located (5-10 mins from town centre). Cottages are large, clean & comfortable. This was our 2nd stay- we enjoyed the 2-bedroom cottages with view of emu enclosure. Cottages have all the things you would need for cooking (including bbq); common area has paid laundromat. Animal feeding is a big draw for kids. They loved watching and feeding emus, hens, ducks, alpacas, etc. Dani, who lives at and runs the property, is fantastic- helpful, cheerful and great with kids.
- Patricia (10/5): Wonderful peaceful holiday - Great place to catch up with family the children had a fantastic time building cubbies and playing on all the playground equipment. Close to things to see and do and houses were so well setup.
- Janice (8/5): Lovely stay! - Nearby the Margaret river town centre. Apartment is well maintained and equipped with the kitchen supplies for cooking. We are thankful that there is a high chair and kids’ utensils for our little one. We love the farm animals feeding session.
- Bryan (10/5): Enjoyed the experience and would love to come back again next time! - Pleasant and comfortable set up. The morning animal feeds were a very nice activity to have and the kids and adults enjoyed it immensely
- Goodchild (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peck (8/5): Great stay! - The heater/aircon is only in the living room, can be cold in the bedroom.
Feeding the animals was fun, facilities well equipped and very peaceful place to stay.
- Man (10/5): Hidden Gem - My family and I had the privilege to stay at MR Hideaway and Farmstay in Mar 2025 for 3 nights, and it was nothing short of an amazing experience. The cottage itself was well appointed and supplied with everything you need. I appreciate that we were given a breakfast starter pack with fresh milk, fresh eggs, bread, etc. for our first morning. The compound was quiet, tranquil and peaceful, and while my kids had a ball of a time with the animal feeding session and playgrounds, I, on the other hand, was marvelled by the surrounding nature. The smell of eucalyptus in the air is something that I'll never forget. It's no wonder they say that nature in Australia hits differently. We hope to be back again in the near future!
- Lee (9/5): Excellent Farm Stay in Margaret River - An excellent stay. The interations with and feeding the farm animals were my kid's favorite. He loves the playground too.
The facilities were all well maintained, easy to operate and comfortable. Getting the water temperature was difficult though. There were advisory to limit the use of water but just to get the temperature right wasted quite zome time.
The location was also good. I had very good morning runs along Osmington Road every morning.
Highly recommendedand will like to go back again if I visit Margaret River.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
