• Miranda (7/5): It was great and cute!🌼 Just be aware of the area and the fact that is a hostel and not a hotel 💛 - The hotel was so cozy!🦋 With a really unique atmosphere and vintage/alternative interior design!🪭🖼️🪴The room was very clean and the owner had prepared cute and nice fresh towels. The owner had also printed out small cute personalized notes with information directly to every guest who stayed there with 💌For the amazing price and distans to the city center, this is a magnificent place to stay!🌼 It’s good to know these things: 1) The era is VERY political and many locals are angry with tourists because of the housing crisis and homelessness- which is 100% understandable. I just wish we knew this when we arrived, so don’t be chocked if locals look at you in a harsh way. 2) It is in fact a hostel and not a hotel, which I didn’t realize so there will be shared bathrooms including bathrooms. 3) The breakfast is very light so bring your own if you are a real breakfast-breakfast person like me, they have a fridge where you can store your breakfast which is great! 4) The walls are very thin, perhaps the owner can put up some cute sound isolating square things or some thicker sound proof curtains? Not a huge problem but just worth mentioning.

L'accès possible à une cour-terrasse Nous n'avons croisé personne durant nos séjours. Il nous a semblé que certains jours, personne ne passait. Dans la deuxième chambre occupée (1ère à gauche en rentrant), le matelas était très "fatigué", inconfortable. Dans la cour, traînaient seaux et balais. Le petit-déjeuner était minimaliste. Le pain présentait des traces de moisissure la 1ère fois. La 2ème fois : il n'y en avait plus du tout !

• de Horde (10/5): Geweldige authentieke sfeervol hostel op een fantastische locatie! - Geweldige plek, sfeervol en authentiek. Binnentuin is superfijn en de huiskamers en kamers ook. Ik mocht na mijn check-out blijven werken in de gemeenschappelijke ruimte op mijn laptop, superlief! De bedden zijn een beetje hard.

• Sophie (9/5): Very homey feeling, beautiful interior! Easy check-in and out! - The location, Exarchia is such a fun neighbourhood with good bars and restaurants a and nice atmosphere. And I loved the interior and our room was so comfortable and cosy. Homey feeling! Easy check-in and out. Great instructions! Maybe the kitchen tools could more hygienic, they were very sticky.

• Tabitha (8/5): - Op onze dag van aankomst was de receptie niet open, maar we kregen zeer duidelijke instructies en er ging zelfs een blaadje met een welkomstwoordje aan onze slaapkamerdeur. Leuk terrasje! De kamer was vrij koud. We waren er eind februari. De koude kamer is waarschijnlijk aangenaam in de zomer, maar we hebben onze eerste nacht slaap er een beetje door gelaten. Daarna hebben we iemand van het hostel gebeld en lagen er, toen we 's avonds terugkwamen, extra dekens voor ons klaar.

• Celina (9/5): Great stay and would come again - Very clean space located in the beautiful neighbourhood of Exarcheia. Felt safe and staff were friendly and gave recommendations for the area upon request. Very nice to have complimentary breakfast with multiple food options. The back door and windows are always open to regulate the temperature inside and there were a lot of mosquitoes when I went in May. Would recommend either providing communal bug spray or a small AC unit for the rooms.
• Kerstin (2/5): Schönes Vintage-Hostel, leider laut und mit Bettwanzen! - Das Hostel ist sehr schön eingerichtet, Vintage - passend zum Alter des Gebäudes. Und auch die Lage ist top - zu Fuß ist das Zentrum in kurzer Zeit sehr gut erreichbar. Wer nicht laufen will, kann auch einen Bus nehmen. Leider ist es extrem hellhörig. Die anderen Gäste sind meist früh und spät noch auf den Beinen, was man alles hört und auch davon aufwacht. Sogar das Wasser in den Leitungen ist laut! Das Gemeinschaftsbad ist ab dem frühen Morgen (5/6 Uhr) nonstop belegt, gegen 9 Uhr wird es dann besser. Und unser Bett hatte Bettwanzen. Mein Mann wurde mehrmals gebissen.

As soon as I layed down on the bed the bed bugs started to crawl all over me so I couldn’t sleep nor rest, I got up and waited till sun up. Due to these severe bed bug bites all over my body I suffered all through my trip in Greece.

Ondanks het feit dat ik op voorhand een stillere kamer vroeg en dat zogezegd goedgekeurd werd, lag ik in de eerste kamer aan de rechterkant naast de voordeur. Heel veel straatlawaai en heel gehorig, ook binnen het huis. Heel onvriendelijke reactie op mijn vraag om een factuur met BTW nummer voor mijn werk te krijgen. ‘Dat had je bij de boeking al moeten vragen!’ (Heb ze dus ook niet meer gekregen.) Karig ontbijtje, zelf afwassen. Voor die prijs had ik toch iets meer verwacht.

• Caroline (5/5): Nice, but not worth the bed bug bites - The shared spaces were inviting and staff were friendly. I wish I would’ve read the reviews about bed bug issues from last month and earlier this month. I left the hotel and that evening I was covered in bed bug bites. My face, arms, legs… I’ve never experienced it before so I didn’t know what to look for but now I do. CHECK THE SHEETS! I noticed black specs that I now know is bed bug fecal matter. I am completely overwhelmed upon returning home and need to get an exterminator to ensure I didn’t bring anything back with me.

Molto confortevole e tranquillo, con ricche colazioni e un bellissimo giardino e salotto per poter chiacchierare anche con gli altri ospiti.Lo staff è stato sempre gentile e disponibile, ci hanno accolte dandoci tutte le informazioni e indicazioni di cui avevamo bisogno. Un posto grandioso! quando rientravo a casa la sera e le prime 2 notti ho patito caldo, era inverno e l'aria calda mi è risultata eccessiva, ma è bastato segnalarlo nei giorni dopo e hanno risolto all'istante. avrei preferito sapere come abbassare la potenza per magari poterlo regolare in autonomia durante la notte.

• Zarja (10/5): Lovely cozy hostel in a great neighborhood. - The hostel is located in a great neighborhood full of bars, restaurants and shops. The design of the place is super cute, filled with antiques. There is even a beautiful terrace. Everything was really clean and all the facilities were great. The breakfast was diverse and available for a long time so you dont have to worry if you sleep a bit late or have to leave early. Next time i come to Athens I want to stay in the hostel again! /

• Dmitrii P (4/5): Seems progressively unkempt, in a way - Stayed here a year ago, really liked the vibe before so decided to return here when visiting Athens, spent 5 nights here this time, and to be fair - now I didn’t like it here that much. Btw only on last day I saw reviews about bed bugs, well didn’t see any and had no bites, so maybe it’s fixed? But this issue can be the reason that hostel is basically empty all this time, and was very full a year ago at that time… Main issue - there is a line where old-school furniture and style turns into some form of just being unkempt, and this hostel is crossing jt basically. Some lockers are basically not locking themselves, entrance door doesn’t close itself if you don’t pull it enough (like several times when i returned from a walk I realized door is not locked…), courtyard in such a shape that you don’t wanna sit there. There is no shower spray hold in the shower and seat is missing in a toilet. So you see, a lot of stuff is just unkempt. Then 95% of the time there is nobody from administration in hostel, you are by yourself, didn’t like that, also they don’t answer the messages at all basically. It seems they visit once a day for an hour or two and that’s it heh. Then internet - I don’t understand how can it be this bad in 2025, borderline unusable very often, will attach the abysmal speedtest photo. Breakfast is just a word here - nothing fresh is provided, basically only some old crackers, cereal and cheap coffee thing to brew it. Never even had the desire to eat anything there… Linens are quite old, you can feel it. Beds are also not modern in any sense, the cheapest two-layered bed you can imagine. The style and vibes are still here, but it’s like owners started to give up on keeping it in a good shape, and that’s a shame. I hope it will become better, coz now it’s kinda downhill it seems. Owners pls start to keep it together aight?

• margaux (5/5): Nice neighborhood and friendly staff, yet would not recommend the 'garden room'. - Very welcoming staff, cozy main building, good location in trendy neighborhood. The room was actually a small shed in the hostel garden, quite humid and cold. Bed was not made, and only bed linens (with small holes and one faded blood mark) were furnished, no real bed covers, that led to an unpleasant and sleepless night. The proximity of the garden where other guests stayed to watch videos until midnight did not help.

• Yanina (8/5): Чудесный домашний хостел - Уютный двор, очень стильный номер Именно в наше утро на завтрак не было почти ничего поесть. Мы ходили покупать сэндвичи. На следующий день, когда выезжали рано увидели, что обычно это не так. И что еды достаточно, но времени позавтракать у нас не было.

• Ruth (1/5): - Lo bueno que tiene es la ubicación. Las camas sin incómodas, las sábanas y la colcha fina tenían agujeros. Pedimos mantas extras por el frío y nos dejaron otra colcha fina agujereada. Las habitaciones son frías. El desayuno deja mucho que desear, hay 4 cosas contadas y si se acaba el bote de leche o agua que hay no hay nadie alli a quien pedirle. No es un sitio al que volvería ni lo recomendaría.
• Ruth (1/5): - Lo bueno que tiene es la ubicación Las camas eran incómodas, los muelles del colchón se te clavaban. Las sábanas estaban agujereadas, la colcha era fina y también tenía agujeros. La habitación era fría, solicitamos unas mantas extras y nos dejaron otra colcha fina. En uno de los baños la alcachofa de la ducha estaba rajada y el agua salía en todas direcciones. El desayuno es escaso, hay 4 cosas en la cocina, si la leche o el agua se acaba no hay nadie para pedirle más. No es un sitio que recomendaría a nadie, y por supuesto no volvería.

• Ascensión R. (5/5): - La ubicación es perfecta porque está en un zona con mucho movimiento, hay muchos restaurantes y bares, además de estar cerca de la plaza Syntagma. Las instalaciones dejan mucho que desear, y eso que el edificio donde está montado el albergue tiene mucho potencial. Sábanas con agujeros, colchas con agujeros. Pedimos una manta porque ya hacía frío por la noche y nos dieron otra colcha, una con un agujero. No vimos que tuviera calefacción en las habitaciones, así que no sabemos cómo será quedarse ahí en invierno. La cocina no está preparada para usarla si quieres hacer de comer, porque no tiene cocinilla ni placa de cocción. Había un hornillo de acampada, pero no creemos que sea muy seguro. Los baños no están muy allá. En uno de ellos, el váter no tenía tapa y en otro, la alcachofa de la ducha estaba rajada y salía el agua por encima y por debajo. Es barato, sí, pero he visto albergues con pinta más cutre pero con mejores instalaciones.

• cara-jane (2/5): ... - The location of Athens Quinta is excellent, and the building itself is a beautiful old mansion with lots of character. The property gives the strong impression that cleanliness isn’t a top priority. Surfaces are sticky — not just the floors, but furniture and cushions too — leaving guests uncomfortable using shared spaces. During my stay, I also experienced what seemed like an issue with insects in the bedding, which made it difficult to rest. It’s a shame, as the building and setting have real potential.

Smell of incense is a bit intense, bathroom was clean but smelled a bit funky as well

Das Hauptproblem: Dies ist der Vermieterin bekannt (siehe Bewertungen). Leider war meine Tochter extrem betroffen. Dies hat uns die gesamte Reise verdorben. Abgesehen von den erheblichen Beschwerden (extremer Juckreiz, Schwellungen ...) die nicht zu entschädigen sind, wurden uns noch nicht einmal die Kosten für das Zimmer erstattet. Schade, dass auch Booking sich nicht mehr gemeldet hat (Aussage: Wir konnten keine Einigung mit der Vermieterin erzielen. Eigentlich müsste Booking.com die Unterkunft sofort aus dem Angebot nehmen.

Y creo que no le dan la importancia que tiene por los comentarios que encontré más tarde en Google. Me fui llena de picaduras, y tuve que gastar tiempo, esfuerzo y dinero en limpiar ropa y equipaje.. fue más traumático de lo que me esperaba mi experiencia con los chinches.. Y siento decirlo, el sitio es súper bonito, pero su pasotismo con el problema con los chinches les quita todo el encanto...

• Fabienne (1/5): Problème sanitaire de punaises de lit - Point positif : l'agente de ménage est compétente et très gentille. Le personnel présent est gentil et accommodant. Malheureusement je mets une mauvaise note car il y a des punaises de lit (bed bug) dans les chambres. J'ai retrouvé une punaise dans un de mes livres et sous une chaussure. Je me suis faite piquée 4 fois. Il y a des traces de sang sur la taie d'oreiller et le drap. Il faut fermer l'établissement et faire une désinfection totale du bâtiment. Un client a fui cette auberge en voyant ça. Moi il me restait 1 nuit. J'ai procédé à la vérification de toute ma valise. Je vais devoir tout mettre dans des sacs poubelles en attendant de tout passer à la machine à laver et nettoyeur vapeur. C'est le cauchemar absolu ! Ce problème va empirer. C'est le début de l'infestation.

• Peter (8/5): Old fashioned hostel located in a hispter/alternativ area of Athen - Located in a hipster alternativ area of Athens, just a 10 minute walk away from the center. Lovely old house, with spacious rooms. This place has character. Don't come here if you are looking for a boutique experience. Breakfast was simple but tasty. I would have liked a toaster to toast the white bread.

• Alicja (5/5): - This could have been a perfect stay. The place is very cozy and beautifully located, very nice and helpful staff, delicious breakfast. All at reasonable price. There was only one but important problem: bedbugs. The place was clean but it is not about the cleaneless; once a place has bedbugs the matress has to be removed! The receptionist was helpful and offered a change of linen but it is all about the matress. It seems the menager of the hotel does not care at all about the problem.
