Guest Reviews
- Nathaniel (10/5): - Warmly welcomed
- Donald (10/5): - It was a seamless check in and I appreciate that!
- Leroy (6/5): - It was a nice little room it was pretty clean a couple small things and the only things i didnt really like alot was the toilets have pretty bad drainage its definitely usable but my dad clogged his toilet and there was no plunger lol also i wish there was a little brighter light nothing to crazy but it would be nice and same with a better bed and pillows the pillow was nice just not my preference of pillow the bed was a little stiff but still nice id definitely recommend bringing your own pillow tho lol but the staff was nice and there was no extra charge for a room that you could smoke in so thats definitely a plus other than that it was a good room also maybe a little overpriced idk if its because it was last minute or not but still nice motel for sure.
- Natasha (10/5): - Everything was very well kept and had a nice view of town
- DARRYL (8/5): - TO FAR FROM MY DRIVE TO MAIN HIGHWAY
- Jolie (8/5): - Room was good for the price . Everything was fine until the end. We had originally only thought 2 adults in the room but 2 kids decided to stay with us as well last min. After midnight. Owner was not happy about this . Guess we should have not had overnight guests . Never been somewhere where this was an issues def learned my lesson.
- Gabriele (10/5): Great value - Place was clean, nothing fancy but perfect for a night.
- Sarah (10/5): - We stayed at the Attican Motel while spending the day at Darien Lake and seeing a concert that night. It is only a 15 minute drive away. The motel sits on a hill above the main road, so it was pretty quiet. The photos don’t really do it justice and it looks even nicer in person. It’s a quaint family-run establishment and care has been taken to keeps things up to date for the most part. We were very comfortable here. Two things you’ll want to be prepared for though:
1) A $50 deposit is required at check-in. Bring cash because if you use a card, you only get $40 back.
2) The air conditioner works well, but is very old and noisy. Ear plugs are recommended if you’re going to use it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Charming and clean - Charming motel, clean and comfortable! Friendly owner!
- Tiana (10/5): - The lady is super sweet! Check in was super easy and the place is fairly clean. It definitely is chill to come if you need to lay your head somewhere real quick, just stopping by the area kind of a thing.
- Josie (10/5): - The owners are so kind!
- Prem (10/5): - I like to stay and small, privately owned motels as opposed to the impersonal chains. I'm happy when I find one I like, and I really like The Attican. My room was very clean and quiet. The beds were great and the shower had excellent water pressure.
I will be staying there my next visit to the area.
- Marcus (6/5): - Twas alright
- Tira (10/5): - Beds were comfortable
- Dakota (2/5): - Place was moldy, smelled awful, and very uncomfortable. We couldn’t even stay the night and wasted money.
- Joseph (10/5): - .
- Jean (10/5): - The property is dated but was clean and suited our needs perfectly. The owner was very nice. Good value for a family.
- Chantalle (10/5): - We enjoyed staying for KingdomBound , the staff was beyond phenomenal. Truly got to enjoy our stay and they sat with us and chatted . They helped us out when we needed and we got more friends to come down / we will rent again next yr .
Room was clean :-)
- Amanjit (6/5): - It’s a motel
- Christina (10/5): - It was very nice and comfortable
- Shane (8/5): - Safe Quiet and Clean, Pleasant Staff.
- Rosetta (6/5): - Our stay served its purpose, which was having a place close to Darien Lake Performance Arts Center. We wanted a place close by to stay after a concert. The staff at the front desk were pleasant and welcoming. Do not expect any frills, extras or a 5 star hotel. The room was very outdated it said it was a nonsmoking room but had a very strong ordor of stale smoke, probably embedded in the carpet. But the room was clean. To give you an example of how outdated, you get a written reciept--nothing printed from a computer :) Again, the room served it purpose and we had no major issues or concerns.
- C5642TMjimj (2/5): Bugs, Mold, and awful smell. Not worth it for me. - I woke up to bugs in the bed. Could not sleep after that.
There was an awful smell throughout the room. Waking up next morning I was able to see different species of mold covering the ceiling and walls.
I thought this would be an economic decision but you get what you pay for. Gross.
- Gerald (10/5): - Well maintained and spotless
- Hector E (10/5): Good price, Quiet spot - Great service, easy check in and decent price. A little out dated but the room was spacious as well as the bathroom. They need better lighting and the bathroom although spacious sink area felt tight. Towel rack can be placed elsewhere as it took up too much space by the sink. All minor things , I'd stay there again for sure.
- Kelly (10/5): - They were wonderful people
- Debra (10/5): - Quiet and clean.
- Harmony (8/5): - Room comfortably fit 4 adults, room was clean and the area was quiet
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good place to stay - Super friendly, lovely couple. Very easy check in & check out process. It was clean. Perfect for a quick stay.
- Richard (8/5): stay was fine - Overall was happy with the stay
- Ann (8/5): - Room was clean even though the place is not updated It was quiet and great for one overnight stay
- Brittany (2/5): - Staff eyeing us everytime we left/returned to property. Room was stinky. Staff was disrespectful
- Karen (10/5): - Great staff
- Keith (10/5): Amazing - The couple that own the motel are very friendly and accommodating. I will come back again
- Penny (8/5): - Ok stay.
- Jason (10/5): - The staff was very friendly, bed was very comfortable. Hung out in the room before a concert close by. The room was very clean. Nice size mini fridge. Microwave in the room. Only issue I had was noisy neighbors in the room next to me arguing all night after the concert but that's not the motels fault. There are places to eat close by and if you book a stay here make sure to check out the tavern nearby called My Saloon. One of the best bar restaurants I've ever been in. I will definitely book another stay at this motel any time I'm in the area.
- Mary (8/5): Clean - Hotel was clean & that is the most important to us. There was no ice machine however stores were right across the road.
- Christine (10/5): - The hotel was perfect for staying over for a concert at Darien Lake.
- Lorraine (10/5): - Very nice place nice folks that own it and everything you need is right across the street very close to Darien lake amusement park
- ka (10/5): Will Stay Again - Room was very clean, with updated lights, television, refrigerator, and general appearance. Bathroom was spacious. Service was excellent, the family running the Attican are very kind. I had a very late arrival (11p.m.) and was still received with a smile. Bring cash with you to use for deposit on key, which is returned when you check out.
- Brenda (10/5): - Nothi3
- Cathy (10/5): - They were very helpful with giving us information on the area and where to go. Very nice place!
- Thomas (10/5): - I came into the Attican Hotel late one night, having only booked about an hour before. The owner was there expecting me even though it was late, and was perfectly lovely. The bed was comfortable and the space was at a good temperature for a hot night. I had a non-smoking room and it smelled good—no stale smell. No frills, and exactly what the passer through needs. The town itself is cute, and across the street from the hotel is a drugstore.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Place was clean, but quit old. Room had a slight musty smell. It seemed overpriced for a 2 star motel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Personable, pleasant, peacefulness of our short stay.
As nice as a an overnight stay can be.
Would have liked to stay longer and would visit again and recommend to anyone visiting the area.
- FLPhotochick (8/5): Motel and owner, I like. Clientele, not so much - When we are in the area and just need an overnight, we like to get a room here. The owner is friendly and accommodating. The last time we stayed it was nice and quiet, it was great.
This time when we arrived, there was a woman pacing the parking lot, on her cell raising her voice, yelling at times. She was all over the place from one end of the parking lot to the other and you couldn't help to hear her side of the conversation which I did not want to as it was not pleasant. We got in our room and we were tired, we just wanted to rest there and get some sleep. Nope, a group of young people stood out in the parking lot and had their own little party. We were trying to watch TV, I couldn't concentrate. My husband turned on the AC although we definitely didn't need it to make some white noise to drown them out. I could still hear them and now I was cold! Around 10:30pm I had to find some earplugs so I could get some sleep. No fault of the owners. Just very inconsiderate motel guests.
I will certainly stay here again, but next time I won't put up with rude people.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean and the mattress was recent and nice and firm. Pillows were nice and firm too. It is a basic older hotel, but kept in decent shape. Lots of vacancies probably due to location and chain hotels. But definitely well worth the price.
- D9029MWgails (10/5): HIGHLY RECOMMEND GREAT PLACE - Clean and comfortable place to stay. Friendly owners. We highly recommend this place. We stay here every year when we go to the Alexander steam show. We highly recommend this place always! Gail & Dale Strong Tonawanda, NY
- Timothy (6/5): Ok - Nice area. Nice people. Quiet and private entrance. Bad odor had to spray excessive amounts of Febreze to not puke.
- William (4/5): Disappointed - Disappointed. I ordered a smoke free room and we smelled smoke the second we walked in, then I had to kill three bugs when I went into the bath room. No hair dryer and the bed wasn't the best. The shower was a problem because the temperature knob was broke and it was on scalding hot.
We won't ever go back
- Debora (10/5): - Beautiful views and very clean.great Service as well!
- jeajeapip (10/5): Hospitality Plus - I have to start by saying that when we arrived at the Attican Motel, I was in dire straits. I had just stayed the night in my rental car because the previous hotel had sprayed chemicals on the carpet to mask tobacco odors. My Husband slept like a baby in that toxic room but my lungs took a hard hit and were severely burnt. It was a very scary incident and of course the minute we could leave, we did.
I randomly picked the nearest motel to our family's home. And that is where I met the kindest owners. I explained to them about the chemicals and how sick (and exhausted) I was. They assured me that they do not use chemicals and have a strict no smoking policy (thank you!). AND that I was assured rest because it was very quiet there. They weren’t kidding! Quiet, clean, super comfortable bed, pillows, spacious room and bathroom, beautiful view! They made fresh coffee daily for us. They were considerate of my need for healing and rest.
I will never forget their kindness, genuine concern and hospitality. Will definitely return when we visit again. Thank you so much! The world needs more loving, compassionate people like you guys in it.
*Photo included of my view outside of my room/healing sanctuary.
- Scott (10/5): - This was last minute. The hotel is older and simple but it was superb clean and comfortable. Great people running the show.
- praveen (10/5): Old building, But comfortable with basic amenities - It was late night at Niagara and we got to book this motel which is an hour away from Falls. It’s in very rural place, old, but very comfortable motel. It’s quiet, clean and well maintained. Though little expensive, as we got the last minute booking, but we found it as right option. it has basic amenities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No coffee pot in room and driveway a bit rough....
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very cute! Owners are very nice. The shuttle to/from Darien lake was awesome!
- jacki_scott (10/5): Great stay at this little no-frills motel - The staff is a very friendly couple and their parrot! The room was very clean and it was just what we needed for our one-night stay. Close to Darien Lake theme park and right across from the grocery store. Don't expect glamour and you will be all set!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet and clean. The clerk was very nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not So Good - When I got there, the office was locked and I could not get in to get registered. I had to track down the employee. The room was stifling hot. The AC wouldn't stay on unless you held the plug in. The fridge did not work. I had 4 people in the room and only got 2 towels.
- S.K (4/5): - I found a better hotel for 20$ dollars more and cancelled my reservation in time. I knew I would not receive a full refund but was told the hotel would cancel the reservation for a 50$ fee , rather than apply the full price of reservation. I have yet to receive the balance and owners have read my messages ( it shows read). They have completely ignored me. NOT GOOD SERVICE. And I WILL CONTINUE TO TEY UNTIL I BET A RESPONSE JERKS
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great accommodation for the price. The owners were very nice. They offer a shuttle to Six Flags. The beds are awesome!
- Bruce (6/5): OK - Not great - It's a room, no more. It's an old motel, reasonably maintained. There are no amenities. We were in the area for an event in Darien Center, about 7 miles away. This place suited our needs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice people. Not far from darien lake. Enjoyed my stay, amd they dont jack up the prices %300 on nights of concerts like other hotels in the area. Won me over 🙂
- Traveler (4/5): - Pros: Friendly owner,, plenty of parking.
Cons: no amenities, room is extremely out dated,
air conditioning worked but didn’t get cool enough.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I checked in very late because I had got lost , but the receptionist was very nice and waited for me , kept calling to make sure I was still coming and if I was ok and found my way good. The room was perfect also very clean and decent
- FLPhotochick (8/5): Almost Perfect - Needing a place to stay for the weekend, as we had multiple events going on within a 20 mile radius. The Attican had the best price and good reviews so we went with it. We arrived mid afternoon on Friday 5/31/19 for two nights. There is a box with a phone that you pick up to call the clerk, but he saw us coming and met us at the door, holding it open for us. He was very polite and courteous. Check in was quick. The room was super clean, large, and bright.
I usually do ask, but this time I did not inquire about accessibility when I booked the room; I really need a handicapped accessible room. Although there was only a small step up into the room which was fine for me, it was the bathroom that was tough. The toilet was very low so it was difficult for me to get back up and there was no seat in the tub/shower. Although I didn't need to bring my scooter in for charging this time, there was a long, low dresser that would have made it impossible to get my scooter in the room anyway, or for anyone to get in with a wheelchair. I would suggest a smaller dresser or an upright dresser to solve that issue. The other issue is in regards to the bathroom door. It opens in towards the bathroom and hits the toilet which means you have to go in, turn around, shut the door to get to the toilet or shower. A few ways to fix this would be to have the door open into the room instead, or what would be really nice is a pocket door or a door on a rail like what you see on a barn. It would give the room a nice warm country feel.
Aesthetically, the room could have used a decorator's touch. It wasn't an ugly room, but a little facelift with some pleasing artwork and functional furniture would have made it a really nice room. Also, for ADA issues, the beds would work much better if they were on the opposite wall, giving one a straight entry from the door all the way to the opposite side of the room. Especially helpful for someone using a walker or other mobile aid.
As for the outside, the property is very neat and clean, but a fresh coat of paint on the room doors with new numbers on the doors would make this place even more appealing.
All in all, if you are looking for a quiet motel in a small town setting with comfortable beds and amenities, like a small fridge and microwave, nearby restaurants, farmer's markets, and many other things to see and do, then I would highly recommend The Attican.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location. Clean. No frills. Fine for a night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room is ok. Very clean and has a great size fridge.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Place was not clean, customer service unfriendly, chased me trying to take more money
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Will not go back nor would we recommend it to others. The hot water did not get hot . It was at best luke warm. Things we are used to at other places such as a coffee maker and iron were not available. No information on television programming was provided. Thankful we were there for only one night.
- John (8/5): - This is a mom and pop hotel in the middle of nowhere. So that said, the proprietors were extremely friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable. I would most likely stay there again.
- Dede (2/5): Nice staff - The towels were old and they looked like they have never been bleached. The tub was duty
I went to buy a towel.
- 978MichaelK (2/5): Big Mistake, Stay away - I am still surprised about what have gone wrong here.
I booked a room with 2 beds non-smoking on Booking.com, apparently this was confirmed as 2 bed smoking, at the Motel they charge 30usd to change the room from non-smoking to smoking.
They also said it was Motel policy that they have extra charge for children and infants and that is +10usd/child/night.
20usd Key deposit had to be made in Cash, credit card was not accepted.
Suddenly this inexpensive hotel becomes very expensive (Coutyard in Buffalo cost 10% more under these conditions).
When I finally came to the room, the light could not be turned on at the door, when I find a lamp I realize that the bed linen are used and dirty, back to the reception, the woman apologize and give me another room key.
Which have been cleaned and is OK
The safety chain to the door is broken, so apparently the door can not be secured.
How this hotel have been able of getting good ratings I can only guess about,
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For the price great little motel
- supermom (2/5): Definitely not worth saving a few dollars!! - NO heat with thermostat up ALL the way we were freezing all night, no way to take a bath due to drain, the shower had to be on hot only n turned all the way up for even slight comfort, staff was nice until my card was declined for "unknown" reasons then was horrible kept wanting to charge 30.00 for extra guest for my CHILD who wasn't even staying the night. When I asked at check in about maybe staying an extra night was told may have room available but not ONE car was in the lot, was told if it's sold, it's sold if I don't let them know in time. Ice bucket was from a hotel chain n there was nowhere on premises to get ice. Wi-Fi would NOT connect at all. Door had old fashioned key n had to be locked upon leaving. I think this is an attractive motel with huge potential but seems like the guests do not matter. We switched to a similar type motel in Batavia that worked very well.
- 711kellyk (10/5): wonderful! - we had a queen size smoking room. it was very clean. the hotel sat upon a hill away from traffic so it was quiet. the staff were very friendly and helpful.parking right infront of your door, tops grocery store and burger king and subways within walking distance
- cbo1870 (8/5): It was sufficient - I was satisfied with the place . The owners are very polite and helpful . I was able to get a room without a reservation . The bed was comfortable and definitely had hot water . A spacious clean room and a good location . They gave me a recommendation for a good scare at an asylum nearby .
- Nan (8/5): Convenient, clean, comfortable. - I didn't agree that a person who doesn't smoke should have to pay $10 more for a non-smoking room. It should be the other way around. Also a $10 fee for any person after 2 people in a 4 people accommodated room, does not seem fair. I have never been charged that way before. But, overall, it was a pleasant stay. Convenient, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was a little skimpy, but Burger King was near by, as well as stores. Will definitely stay again.
- darlenes591 (10/5): Very Clean, Great Bed, Wonderful Owners - We spent 3 nights (August 4-6) while attending the 59th Annual Attica Rodeo. Everything was wonderful. The bed was the most comfortable I've slept in at any motel/hotel in many years! It was very, very clean and spacious. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We plan on making this our motel for every Attica Rodeo weekend we are able to attend in the future.
Thank you for a great weekend!!
Darlene & Dave Spafford
- michaelq347 (6/5): Average, functional. - Went on a golf trip with a friend in the area, few options so we settled for this hotel. Friendly service, helpful staff and the room was ok. It's not a hotel, it's simply a place to stay for a night while in transit or in our case, playing golf. It was pricey for what you get.
- Veedum (8/5): Clean and friendly owners - Clean rooms with a bar fridge and microwave in a beautiful little village. Basic but comfortable. A great addition was the friendly owners. They "shuttled" us to and from a music festival we were attending 20min away for $20 each. Pretty good value (not to mention safer as they knew exactly where they were going and we could all have a beer ;p). Very close to the supermarket and laundromat - just across the road.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Their credit card machine was down and instead of the owner calling when he found out a day before my stay to inform me he waited till I got there. Forcing me to inconveniently have to use an atm to pay that fee as well as my bank fee. I wouldn't have had to do all of that had I been told. I would have been able to simply go to my bank with no fee before I got on the road for 6 hours and deal with that.
- Ammon (2/5): - Trip was for business and our guys were not happy. I ended up finding them another hotel in the area for the rest of the trip. We were in NY for over a month building a metal building and the guys only stayed 1 night here. The next day they requested another hotel...
- Steve (6/5): We needed a place to stay during Family Day - The greeting was superb and accommodating. The room was very dated although very clean. I don't sleep well on box springs and the remote did not work. The thermostat did not address room temperature. Overall, it sufficed.
- Tom (10/5): Nice motel great price. - The husband and wife team who own and run this motel go the extra mile to make sure you have a good experience. The room was quiet and well kept.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Attican Motel - Owners of the motel were very nice people. The location of the motel was very convenient with a dollar store, grocery store, and gas station near by. Only about eight miles from the park, which was nice if you want to get away from the park (went to the park for two days). There was a fridge and no hair dryer. The WiFi was available was the signal was very poor. Overall it was not too bad of a motel.
- Christopher J. (10/5): - It was very nice. The people where very nice and help full
- KRIS (2/5): An expensive motel for nothing - Terrible customer service ... not happy at all. Didn't even get my deposit back
- srn15 (2/5): Darien lake concert - We booked this hotel because it had a shuttle and we were going to a concert. We got there and she said there was no shuttle. Online and in the office they say they have shuttles. That bothered me because there were not taxis around either. It is also gross and I didn't feel comfortable sleeping here but I didn't have a choice because I already payed 190 for a gross room!😡
- Verified traveler (4/5): Okay for a night and close to a theme park - Convenient for fast food and pharmacy facility's and also close to theme park.
- rush1976 (6/5): Family reunion event - An old fashioned room Old TV with grainy pictures The staff was nice Bad road conditions ( potholes) I will not return to this place for my next family reunion event and will look for a nicer hotel which provides advanced technology resources unlike Attican Motel is a outdated/ primitive hotel
- 395judys (8/5): Thankful - While travelling to the finger lakes on our motorcycle it broke down in Warsaw. Music concert & rodeo in the area made accommodation very scarce but we were fortunate enough to get the last 2 rooms at the Attican Motel. The rooms were very clean & close enough to walk to amenities. Had a frig & microwave in them & Tops grocery was just across the street. We were there for 2 days waiting for parts. The owner is a very kind, generous man & did everything possible to make our stay pleasant. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
- samantham253 (2/5): Darien lake concert - The room was disgusting!! Cockroaches My daughter found in the bathroom. I was Sick to my stomach!! There was no way My family was sleeping in that nasty place!!! We decided to drive home. 3 hours later and I was glad to be home. I wouldn't bring our bags into my home til the next day and sprayed everything before I brought them in....Never EVER again!!!
- dianehQ4393JO (6/5): Inexpensive and OK Motel - We needed something close to "downtown" Attica. It was very convenient. The room was adequate, with the usual amenities. We were disappointed that the parking area was not cleared from snow. I understand it snows constantly there in the winter, but when reservations are made I would expect some effort to clear the snow so we could even tell where the entrance was. The person at the desk did come and shovel in front of the door to the room while we parked. If traveling in the winter, an SUV or AWD is preferable for this location, especially if they aren't going to clear the snow around the motel.
- labmoore (10/5): Best around for the price! - I live in Louisiana but my father is from and lives in Attica so needless to say I have made multiple trips to Attica over the years and have always stayed here. Very friendly people and nice place for the price! My husband and I were just there about month ago, it was his first time there and he loved it too! Right across the street from Burger King and Subway, and Top's Supermarket, basically what Attica has to offer by way of food but also only about a 10 minute drive to Batavia and 30 mins or so to Buffalo.
- MrRedlands (6/5): Kind of Average Motel - Decent hotel. ive seen nicer and worse hotels.
good size rooms, nice bed, room was equipped with a small fridge (no freezer) for the longer staying needs, and a microwave.
overall it was a nice place to stay. its an older building so dont expect too much, real key entry, friendly hotel owners at the office.
very quiet area, nice views from the top of the hill where this little hotel is overlooking the area. few places within walking distance (subway, burger king, a pizza place, laundry place, car wash, grocery store, family dollar, gas station, car dealership in case you want to upgrade your car ...)
when you book your room make sure you pick the correct room (smoking rooms are cheaper than non-smoking rooms)
Overall a decent motel, if needed i would stay here again.
- sandycracks (2/5): give your head a shake - $188 CAD for one night the first weekend in August is just out of this world...I don't care if breakfast is included! Way too much even breakfast lunch and supper were included. Drive the 1/2 hour and stay at a 4-5 star in Buffalo or Batavia for less. Nothing but a greedy owner.
