- Brad (4/5): Non-Smoking… If You Ignore the Smoke - Let’s start with the positives—because they are brief. The location is decent, the bathroom was clean, and shockingly, no bed bugs. That’s where the compliments end. Despite signing a $150 “no smoking” agreement, walking into Room 108 felt like stepping into a 1998 roadside ashtray. The smell of cigarette smoke was so strong it practically had its own personality. To really drive home the irony, there was an ashtray sitting front and center on the table—because nothing says “non-smoking” quite like providing the tools. The décor? Think “burnt chic.” Cigarette burns on the carpet and bedding really tie the whole theme together. Bonus safety feature: exposed outlets with no covers, because why not add a little electrical roulette to your stay? Also worth noting: they still use an actual metal key with a $5 deposit. Not a dealbreaker, just… a time capsule. We considered asking for another room, but since we were only staying one night, we decided to just ride it out and try not to inhale too deeply. Overall, you absolutely get what you pay for—and possibly a lingering smoke smell souvenir to take home with you.

I have never been refused a booking until now. They are judgmental and racist towards certain races. They accuse U of things that they have no proof. I was refused to stay there by management.

The room was clean when we got there but bring your own toiletries. There were two of the smallest bars of soap in the room that are good for one use only before breaking in half. You only get two towels and 2 wash clothes, no hand towels. They don't make the beds. We were given no extra toilet paper. It is close to a main highway with alot of restaurants. It served our needs, and was inexpensive, but we wouldn't stay there again.

Heads up: a damage deposit of $50 in cash is required, credit card not accepted for damage deposit. So, if you don’t have $50 in cash, you will not be able to rent a room. And, when you check out, you have to wait while the manager goes to the room and makes sure there is no damage.

- Maximilian (8/5): - Good quality for a motel at the price point. Stayed in a three-bed suite and it had a kitchen which was convenient for refrigerating food. Sheets and towels were clean, water worked normally, tv and outlets also worked normally. These might be standard things but for what we wanted and the good price point, I want to leave a good review. It was quiet as well, though our night the motel did not have that many guests. Just keep in mind to bring cash for the deposit at check in, which is refundable but is separate from the actual room payment.

I explained most likely around three, which is when the check-in time is. unfortunately we got stuck in traffic and we’re late checking in. at 4:01 I received a call asking when I was coming because I was late. I explained about the morning traffic and that we would be just going straight to the beach and get there probably around 930 to 10 after fireworks Again due to the holiday. We were stuck in traffic and at 10:21. I received a call asking why I was not at the facility and when I would I be there I told them I was five minutes away. when I got there They told me they couldn’t check me in because my maiden name was on my debit card thank goodness I still had my maiden license. We started the check-in process and then I was told there would be a $50 cash deposit in in order to get the keys to the room which was not stated anywhere on the website or on the three calls that they left me so I had to get my stuff and go to a bank at 11 o’clock at night with my kids&take money out& then we finally got into a room by 11:30. The beds were hard. There was holes in the walls. The AC worked, but it didn’t cool the room down we were told no pets, but there was a dog in the lobby &posted everywhere around the hotel is signes, stating that there will be no exceptions for refunds, which should’ve been the first red flag. This was probably the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had and I’ve stayed in a lot of Hotels.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Booked for two nights, left after one - This hotel informed me of a cash only deposit requirement for a non-smoking room day of check-in. They acknowledged this is not listed in their online description and did waive it. There was no coffee pot/supplies provided that was a listed amenity. Front desk was not able to provide one the first night. Manager did bring one mid-morning and said after Covid, they stopped putting them in the rooms and made excuses for why the website still lists this as an amenity. What made me leave early though was an overwhelming smell of sewage even though there was no backup of any kind in my bathroom. Manager claimed she couldn’t smell it and offered an air freshener. Since it was literally making me ill, I ended up using a family member’s room (different hotel) to get ready for the event I was in town for and went home that evening instead of the next day as originally planned. This was an unpleasant experience and I regret booking this hotel.

- Michael (6/5): - When I arrived, the motel appeared completely vacant. The office was open, tidy and clearly in use, but no one was around. I walked around the grounds. Nobody. Went back to the office and called them. 8 feet away, the office phone rang and rang. Finally someone came and checked me in. It took about 45 minutes. After that no problems. The room was just fine.

- David (4/5): Skip it if you can. - Stayed 6 days due to proximity to son’s USCG station. First room they assigned me was not fit for my dog— and I wasn’t traveling with my dog. Filthy 20 year old mattress & a bed spread that hasn’t seen the inside of a wash machine EVER. Upon immediate request was moved to perfectly adequate room— about what you’d expect for the price. My issue with the inn keeper was: why subject me to the first room? I won’t be returning. I advise skip this one.

Normally if you don’t have a reservation these places offer better rates than websites like hotels.com expedia.com, etc. The receptionist wanted to charge me $ 86.00 plus taxes and fees, I told her I can get $ 59.00 from booking.com, she agree to lower the price but if I pay with cash, which I never carry if I pay with credit card I have to pay an 3.5% extra fee. I was planning to stay for 3 or 4 days but when the receptionist try to scam me I only signed for one night. I requested a non smoking room, the room number they provided was 111, however despite signs of non smoking and if you smoke you will be fined $ 150.00, the smell in the room was a combination of sewer and cigarette, it was was terrible, this was not a non smoking room, they obviously lied. The next day later in the afternoon I booked another hotel for $ 10.00 more but much more clean, decent, no odors of sewer or smoking. I will never come back to Crown Inn Motel in Yorktown, Virginia not even if they pay me stay.

A mistake was made with the amount charged at check in, they undercharged me by $44 but the way they went about resolving it was nothing short of disgraceful. Shouting at each other and at me, not even letting me get a word in till I shouted back. I knew I'd paid more than what they said but couldn't prove it as they hadn't given me a receipt. Resolved in the end and I was right, I had paid more than they claimed. The room, burn holes in the bedding, carpet is so filthy my wife's new white socks were black in just one day. Over all the property is in dire need of a makeover. Not a place I'll go back to.

- Gorsuch (2/5): Crooked owner's - The price was reasonable The dead bolt know was broke, I tried to call the front desk but no answer. When I checked out I let the owners know that the knob was broken and they accused me of lying and breaking the lock and charged me $30 dollars. They hateful and rude. Don't use this motel if you value your customers.
- Jill (4/5): Disappointing - Black mold in tub/shower. The lady owner has gotten so rude after we had been coming there regularly. It was just a hassle so won’t be staying there any longer. Don’t ask for a late checkout. Most hotels/motels will accommodate 30 minutes, but not this property. Find food crumbs or something on floors and bathrooms not cleaned especially around bottom of toilets. No shampoo, conditioner,tissues or coffee pots in rooms! Just has became a horrible place to stay

- Michelle (4/5): - Room was as clean as it could be for the property. Walls are very thin, so sleep will be dependent on who your neighbors are. Area is fine, but will not be staying again. Bathroom smelled like smoke, despite the $50 cash I had to pay to ensure I didnt smoke in the room. Money was refunded on checkout.

- Phillip (1/5): Nope never again. - The sweet lady who checked us in was absolutely the highlight of my stay. Upon checkout I was accused of stealing towels. It was stated to me by the very rude gentleman at the front desk that they couldn't find any towels in my room. I replied that I had just showered and they had to be in there. He was on the the phone with the cleaning person in our room. I had to drive back to the room where i encountered another rude individual holding 2 towels and a washcloth rudely telling me a towel was missing. It's a shame she couldn't look behind the bathroom door before telling the gentleman up front that towels were missing. Makes me wonder exactly how well she cleans if looking behind the bathroom door was that difficult for her. Also another fun experience the remote didnt work so we were stuck with 1 channel our whole stay. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I absolutely will not be recommending or returning .
