- Experience818823 (10/5): Amazing hotel and incredible staff - La Siesta was the first hotel that we stayed at on our 2 week trip to Vietnam and it truly set the stage for an incredible trip. The hotel is lovely and centrally located. The included breakfast each morning was delicious. We traveled with 2 elementary aged kids and they loved the buffet and looked forward to it upon waking. As wonderful as the hotel was itself, the staff and service are what puts it over the top. Every person is incredibly friendly and committed to offering 5 star service. We were greeted by Jun, who was amazing. She told us all about the hotel and surrounding activities and recommendations. The waitstaff at the happy hour rooftop bar each night were phenomenal as well. This hotel is worth every penny. Highly recommend for your trip to Hanoi.

- NoellaC872 (10/5): La Siesta- truly a place to rest. - In the midst of chaotic traffic in Hanoi’s Old Quarter lies an oasis! We’ve just returned from our Vietnam Odyssey and we spent 6 days ( not consecutive) in this peaceful hotel. Staff are very attentive- there is always someone there when you enter to open a door, always someone available to answer a question etc. Breakfast is ample with plenty of choice and upon request the cook made banana gluten free muffins for me. For someone who must always eat gluten free this was a big plus as I always look with envy at the great variety of pastries on offer. Plenty of choices though for anyone Gluten Free. The rooms are clean and well presented. No bath, just a shower. Rooms have the usual kettle and bar fridge but with the added bonus of a coffee plunger. For 2 early rising coffee addicts this was a nice bonus as we could sip an early morning coffee while waiting for breakfast to start. All of our accommodation in Vietnam was outstanding but the La Siesta staff were the best!
- 942debbiem (10/5): La siesta Classic Ma May Hanoi is a solid choice for a higher end stay in Hanoi - The La Siesta Classic Ma May Hanoi is a lovely hotel in the heart of Old Town Hanoi, with absolutely fantastic staff ( June, An , Doan and all their team)who go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable and you have everything you need, including recommendations for restaurants which were spot on, assisting in locating a pharmacy for medicine that I needed and making sure I would get delicious vegan dishes for breakfast. Although the hotel is in a very lively street our room was quiet and we slept well. Very comfortable beds too.
- 145noellac (10/5): La Siesta- a little bit of calm in central Hanoi. - My husband and I spent 6 nights at La Siesta in March, not consecutive days - 2 days then 4 nights away, another 2 then 2 nights away and finally our las 2 nights before returning to Australia. The returns felt like ‘coming home’ so familiar did the hotel and it’s employees become! The room was lovely. Really loved that we could make a plunger coffee in our room early in the morning. We’re early risers! Breakfast was more than ample ( so much choice) and big plus as someone who must avoid gluten I was able to order a banana gluten free muffin when I wanted something sweet. So grateful thank you. I always look longingly at all the lovely pastries and watch with envy as my husband tries them. We also ate at the restaurant a few times and the food was outstanding. Can definitely recommend. Best of all though were the staff- always smiling, always helpful. No issue seemed too big. A big than you especially to An who was very helpful and to the doorman who was always there to open that door. I’m sorry I don’t remember more staff names as there were more I could thank. Should we return this is where we will stay again and of course we will be recommending La Siesta to friends and family.

Only had breakfast once, but that was a good selection. Our only small criticism would be that our room was at the front of the hotel and it was noisy at night outside - although I fully appreciate this is due to being in Hanoi than the hotel’s fault! Would recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at La Siesta Classic Ma May in Hanoi! We had originally booked a junior suite, but to our pleasant surprise, we were upgraded to a family suite — and what an upgrade it was! It felt more like a spacious two-bedroom apartment, with huge rooms and an incredibly large private terrace all to ourselves. It truly made our stay extra special. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean, which made the experience even more comfortable and reassuring. The breakfast was another highlight — a fantastic spread with a wide variety of options, including Vietnamese, European, and even Japanese dishes. Every single item we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were extremely courteous, warm, and always ready to help with a smile, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The rooftop sky bar is an absolute gem — beautifully decorated with incredible, unobstructed views of the entire city. It’s the perfect place to unwind and take in Hanoi from above. Location is top notch, just steps away from the bustling beer street but tucked in the Ma May street which becomes quieter at night, allowing you a comfortable sleep. The hotel also has an elevator, which is a big plus in the Old Quarter area. Overall, this is definitely one of the best places to stay in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!
- 392kylied (10/5): Great location. Exceptional service - We stayed two nights and were looked after from the start with an early check in (10.30am). The room was beautifully appointed, sound proof and the bed so comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight. Cooked to your liking and a huge array available from the buffet. June looked after us so well with ATM recommendations and answering any other questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were of the highest standard and a stay here makes you feel very special. The hotel is happily situated within walking distance of convenience stores, the lake and all the other must see Hanoi attractions. I’d highly recommend.

It is fantastically located in the old quarter, right in the midst of everything on offer in this city. But our room was so quiet - it was great. From the moment we walked through the door to when we left, we received outstanding service from every member of staff - we had a welcome tea on arrival which refreshed us after a 12 hour flight and met Jun Dung Nguyen who looked after us throughout our stay . She is the kindest, gentlest and most thoughtful person you could wish to meet and she could not do enough for us. Breakfast was buffet style and very tasty. We ate once in the Red Bean restaurant and twice enjoyed drinking in the rooftop Moonlight Sky Bar which affords great views of the city. If you are reading this view in search of a recommendation, don’t delay - just book it

Not only are they attractive, but the functionality is also incredible. You see, the design is well thought out and the space is used very cleverly, at the same time, the rooms still have the feel of being open and are very relaxing. The bed is super comfy and the sheets, which are of good quality, make you want to stay in bed longer in the morning. The light is well thought out, providing both as a source of warmth and relaxation in the evening and as a bright and practical option when necessary. The amount we paid was affordable and value for money.

We could see how hard everyone was working to make sure the guests were given the best service and we really appreciated all the individual attention they gave to us. The streets were so busy and crazy outside but the hotel and restaurant were so calm and pleasant. Two receptionists even gave us a gift as we were leaving - escorting us to our car and waving goodbye. So sweet!

- TheStarryMessenger (10/5): My absolute favorite! - La Siesta Classic Ma May is my absolute favorite hotel, in my absolute favorite city, in the whole wide world! If I could be anywhere, this would be it. I know that nothing I can say will ever be able to do it justice. I'm not sure, but I think I've stayed at this location on about a half dozen occasions, and I've stayed at EHG properties many more times over the last ten years. At this point, I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Hanoi. I love everything about this place; the staff, the rooms, the location... the sky bar! The staff here are absolute professionals, yet they are also warm and personable. They ask about your plans, how your day went, remember your name, your likes and dislikes. They offer suggestions based on what they've picked up on about you, offer tea while you wait for your friends to meet you in the lobby, and sometimes even a sample of something delicious. The level of service here is on par with any of the finest hotels I've ever stayed at, but it never feels stuffy. Vietnamese hospitality is among the best in the world. Here, it's a cut above. The rooms are quiet and extremely comfortable. Everything is well maintained. The beds are cozy, the bathroom is "western," and the furnishings are stately. You could draw the blinds and have no idea where you are, but all of the excitement of The Old Quarter is right outside. I don't travel all the way to Vietnam just to eat and drink in my hotel, but I could easily do so here. The breakfast is top notch, with something for everyone. Dinner at Red Bean is also excellent. In fact, it's where my family and I had our first meal in Hanoi on our most recent visit. That says something. I strongly recommend enjoying your first evening in Hanoi at the rooftop Moonlight Sky Bar, whether you're staying here or not. The view is spectacular, the vibe is chill, and the bartenders are masters at their craft. If I've learned anything in all my years of traveling, it's that everything can look amazing on the internet, but the reality can often be a disappointment. Reviews can be misleading. Not this place. It's even better! I feel like I've rambled and still not said enough. I know that nothing I can say will ever be able to do it justice, but trust me, this place is wonderful!

We booked two rooms for two nights, then later one room for three and one room for two again for one night, and throughout all those stays, the service was consistently exceptional. From the very moment our taxi stopped in front of the hotel, we already felt taken care of. A staff member immediately assisted with our luggage before we even stepped inside. The front desk happened to be quite chaotic at the time because a large group was checking out, but instead of letting us wait in line, they graciously ushered us to a table, offered refreshments, and comfortably seated us while they processed our reservation details. That level of thoughtfulness made such a strong first impression. A very special mention goes to Ngoc An ( we know her as An Le), who felt like the dedicated coordinator for our entire group. She was absolutely amazing. She helped us book a water puppet show, arrange massage reservations, and gave us fantastic recommendations for pho, banh mi, coffee spots, and even where to shop for traditional Vietnamese clothing. She was incredibly responsive—I honestly don’t know how she managed to reply so quickly every time! She made our trip so much easier and more memorable. She is truly a superstar and a huge asset to the hotel. We were also impressed by how flexible and accommodating the hotel was with check-ins. On our first stay, we arrived at 9 AM even though standard check-in was at 2 PM, and they kindly allowed us to check in early at no extra charge. On our second stay, we arrived from Sapa around 5 AM. They offered an early check-in option with a fee, which we gladly accepted—and to our surprise, they even upgraded our room. After an overnight journey, that comfort meant so much to us. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety. On our last day, since we were checking out at night and wouldn’t be able to enjoy breakfast the next morning, we asked if we could have it the day before instead—and they allowed it without hesitation. That kind of flexibility is rare and deeply appreciated. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very cozy. Having Netflix available was definitely a plus, especially for relaxing after long days of exploring the city. To top it all off, the hotel is in Old Quarter - where all the magic happens. Overall, this is a truly excellent hotel with superb staff who go above and beyond for their guests. If we ever find ourselves back in Vietnam, this will absolutely be our hotel of choice again. From the beginning she looked after our every need. It’s the little things that count for us and Jun took care of it all. From arranging rides, helping with flight plans to even walking me to the best barber - we could count on her. Furthermore she made us feel like family. The amenities were fantastic and well located in the heart of Old Quarter Hanoi. Everything was a short walk away. We took advantage of the Spa and enjoyed it immensely. When they say breakfast finishes at ten, they mean that everything will be cleared away by ten, so get there at 9:30 latest! We would recommend it to friends from a location and comfort perspective.

The hotel has a lovely, warm atmosphere that offers a welcome contrast to the hectic Old Quarter. The room was incredibly spacious, which made a huge difference when travelling as a family. There coffee and tea-making facilities, hairdryer, minibar with good snacks. Breakfast was very good with a fair selection — the bread and pastries were especially high-quality, and the coffee was excellent. The location is outstanding: right in the heart of Hanoi and within walking distance of everything, which made getting around effortless. A highlight was the rooftop bar — a breezy spot with fantastic views, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. Please note, there’s no outdoor space other than the rooftop bar and we didn’t have a balcony, so for a stay over two days or more you might want to consider this. Highly recommend this hotel for families looking for space, comfort, and an unbeatable location.

Breakfast buffet at the restaurant was great. Cocktails at the sky bar and the red bean restaurant were excellent as well. Overall fantastic experience will highly recommend. - Journey614198 (10/5): Comfortable and Relaxing Stay with Exceptional Staff - I stayed at La Siesta Classic Ma May for 2 days and it was exceptional! The location is perfectly central to the old quarter. The hotel is very regal and high quality and clean. The rooms were very comfortable with controllable AC units, great water pressure, etc. However, as I was only in the hotel to sleep and was out and about most of the time, the best part of the stay was the staff. There was always someone there opening the door, greeting, helping with bags, and making sure everything was okay. A special shoutout to Ann, who handled all of my questions and even arranged a trip to Ninh Binh for me! Instead of spending hours researching and booking, it was handled in the background, offering peace of mind. She was so responsive I would have answers in minutes. They really care about you having a good and comfortable stay. After I got back from Ninh Binh and had a night flight, they even offered to keep my bags and let me shower before the flight.

Staff are great and Spa is the best I ever tried.Around the hotel you can find many good coffee shops and local restaurants. Not far for a walk to the Hoan Kiem lake and beer streets I hightly recommend to anyone who wants to have a nice place to stay in Ha noi. We will come back definately

- threepiowannabe (8/5): Great staff and location - This would have been five stars, however, on our last night at around 8pm another guest swiped their card and managed to open the door to our room! They were in 1009 and we were 1005 so they were just a bit confused. Lucky my husband was wearing pants. The doors do have a deadlock but we didn’t think it was necessary. Otherwise the hotel was a great location, not too noisy, super clean, very friendly staff, and breakfast was fine. The Moonlight bar also had a nice view. Paid 10,224,000 VND for three nights in December 2025.

Again on this trip La Siesta Classic Ma May was excellent as always! We have always loved coming here from the first time (2016). The staff primarily are superb. They ALWAYS go the extra mile to help. Can’t praise them enough. The bed very comfortable and the breakfast gorgeous. The breakfast is also great. Location is very strategic near old quarter so it’s great to go around. Lots of banh mi stalls and local foods. At night, also close to lots of bars and the night time is late. I am so happy staying here.

It was the best check-in we’ve ever had— deeply personal. We were asked about our dietary preferences, and a staff member personally walked us to our room to explain every amenity The next morning at breakfast, Ms. June gave us individual attention, understood that we are vegetarian, and walked us through the vegan options available. When I asked whether they had oat milk, she seemed genuinely concerned that they didn’t. That evening, when we returned to our room, we were deeply touched to find a fruit basket waiting for us, along with a handwritten note apologizing for not being able to serve oat milk. This level of empathy is vey rare. And the surprise didn’t end there—the very next morning, there was a jug of oat milk waiting for us at breakfast. This is hospitality at its best. A huge thank-you to Ms. June and the entire La Siesta team. We will cherish our stay for a long time. Highly recommended.

From the moment you arrive, you feel welcomed and cared for in a way that is rare to find. The location in the Old Quarter is perfect, central, vibrant, and within easy walking distance of many of Hanoi’s highlights, yet the hotel itself feels calm and elegant. The food is delicious, beautifully prepared, and consistently excellent. Breakfast in particular was a highlight, with a wonderful selection and attentive service. That said, what truly sets La Siesta apart is the customer service, which is simply outstanding. The team go above and beyond in every possible way. They remember your name, anticipate your needs, and genuinely care about your experience. During our stay, our daughter was unwell, and the support we received was extraordinary. The staff were incredibly kind, collaborative, and reassuring throughout. A very special thank you to Jun, who is quite possibly the kindest person we met during our travels. She personally accompanied us to the pharmacy, ensured suitable food was prepared especially for our daughter and delivered to our room, and constantly checked in on her well being. As a final, deeply touching gesture, she even prepared thoughtful farewell gifts and souvenirs for our daughters, which meant so much to them and to us. La Siesta is not just a hotel, it is a place where you feel truly looked after. We cannot recommend it highly enough and would return without hesitation.
