Guest Reviews
- Leanne (7/5): Nice - Location was great The hotel is very tired looking. Carpets , need a revamp. Very expensive for what you got.
- Sue (7/5): -
- Suzie (10/5): -
- Shaun (8/5): Very enjoyable stay. - Lovely rooms and a great location. Layout is extremely disjointed and accessing the restaurant required walking down the road in the wet and cold.
Restaurant is very expensive.
- Margherita (9/5): -
- Andrew (6/5): Expensive but disappointing really - Looks amazing from outside Is a rabbit warren with poor signage and very long walks from car park to reception and then to room and then I needed a Sherpa to guide me back to car park. No luggage trolleys and help desk was pretty unhelpful.
- Katherine (8/5): Had what we needed - Met our needs Needs some TLC
- Inna (9/5): -
- Sudesh (8/5): -
- Krisztina (10/5): -
- Angela (7/5): - The bed and pillows were unbelievably comfortable! The restaurant closed before 7pm, just before we arrived, there were no snacks in the room and unfortunately nothing open in town.
- Garry (6/5): Peppers - Convenient location Room was too small
No room service for meal
No complimentary biscuits
No cutlery
- Peter (8/5): -
- Takeda (10/5): - Very helpful, friendly staff. The room is larger than usual and comfortable.
- U9542KBseanj (2/5): Wonderful location with services that lack & no care. - Upon arrival at Peppers Marysville, we were warmly greeted by two friendly front-of-house staff who assisted us with the check-in process. During this time, we were advised that room allocations had been adjusted and that confirmation was required before issuing our keys. We also made a reservation for dinner at the restaurant that evening.
We were advised that some rooms had changed and ours was one of them, from room 140 to room 127. Once our room was confirmed, we were provided with access passes and informed of a nearby car park. However, no directions or guidance on how to access it were provided. Instead, we were advised to use street parking given that we were only staying one night.
After settling into our room, we experienced an unexpected disturbance when another couple attempted to access our room, knocking forcefully on the door after trying to enter with their key. While they quickly realised the mistake and moved on, this raised concerns about room allocation and guest privacy.
Throughout the stay, we could hear lots of guests walking up and down the hallway, and kids carrying on in the halls, despite having the door to the room shut. This continued throughout the stay. When management was approached, I was given a business card with an email to send a complaint to, that was it.
The pool was not cleaned & the gym was tiny with extremely limited equipment. The pool area was not a place that I would want to swim in, and being right next to the restaurant was quite weird to.
Later that evening, we attended our 6:30pm dinner reservation at Andiamo Restaurant & Bar to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday, which falls on Anzac Day. Unfortunately, the experience that followed did not meet expectations.
Throughout the evening, the lighting in the restaurant was highly inconsistent, with continuous flickering. The brightness fluctuated noticeably—from overly bright to dim—before returning to full intensity. While the head waitress attempted to adjust the settings, the issue persisted, and it was evident that other diners were also affected.
In addition, the background music was excessively loud, making it difficult to hold a conversation across the table. For a significant portion of the evening, we were unable to communicate comfortably until the volume was eventually reduced.
There were also smaller oversights that detracted from the overall experience, such as two grinders on the table both being labelled the same, leaving us to guess which contained salt and which contained pepper. While a small issue this just adds to the experience.
On a positive note, the food itself was of a high standard and thoroughly enjoyable. While my mushroom sauce lacked any mushrooms, and the risotto was slightly over salted, this was a minor issue within an otherwise well-prepared meal, both main and dessert.
However, the service did not reflect the quality of the food. We did not have a dedicated server or waitress assigned to our table, which contributed to a lack of attentiveness throughout the evening. After our initial drinks and meals were delivered, there was no follow-up from staff. Empty glasses remained unattended, and at no point during the meal, dessert ordering, or dessert service were we asked if we would like additional beverages. It was also noticeable that some guests had to approach the bar themselves to order drinks while staff were engaged in conversation. The staff appeared to be untrained and more interested in talking amongst themselves.
Considering the price point of $110 per head for the restaurant and a $340 hotel stay, the overall experience did not represent value. The restaurant could have made more sales if we had a server approach us to get us additional drinks. While the recent refurbishment of the venue is impressive, the atmosphere was significantly impacted by the inconsistent lighting, excessive noise, and lack of attentive service.
We have come to expect more from staying at others Peppers Establishments.
Update:
Just received an email from Klaus Kinateder the GM. The response was AI generated and then sent off. I hope others leave their true experiences as a review as well.
- Jason (5/5): Service problems common place here - Location and comfortable beds Carpet dirty. Was charged for sofa bed which I pre paid for… sofa bed I paid for wasn’t made until 8pm when prompted by us. Housekeeping burst into the room and turned lights on at 9am while kids still asleep at n second room, hadn’t checked out yet. Last stay, a friend paid for a gift bottle of wine which wasn’t given to us until we asked after checkout. So basically, poor attention to detail and guests not put first.
- Vicky (10/5): - Fantastic scenery and location
Exceptional service
Very clean

- bonesi (6/5): Great looking outside - Well, check-in was easy. Strange layout of rooms lucky
they have lifts. Big carpark behind with easy access.
Room had twin beds for king singles very tiny. Very comfy good mattress as for Donna's ?. Plenty of tea and coffee, fridge ok. Black out curtains. A large walk-in shower. Breakfast was good even though you had to walk outside to access the restaurant. We ate in the restaurant two nights, and the second night was ok for cocktails, but the entree was not good, very soggy. We visited the Duck Pub for lunch. Turn left a short walk.
A treat for kids is the lolly shop. A few Cafes close early.
- Elizabeth (7/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Great staff in a beautiful location - Outstanding staff Going outside in the rain to access ths dining room
- Noreen (7/5): Nice hotel, great location. Not sure I'd recommend it as a must place to stay given our exper - Didn't have breakfast. Great location The bathroom was for wheelchair access, hence hand towel and shelving was positioned at lower level. We didn'tbook a room with these facilities.
The fridge was turned off and bottom of fridge was full of water .
The pool was not clean.
Need clear signage showing floor level and exits. Frustrating and challenging for guests.
- Vishnu (10/5): - Clean room, courteous staff, good facilities The parking is a bit of a hike from the room
- Guest (9/5): -
- Nabendu (8/5): -
- Mariah (5/5): Not the best... - We really liked the idea of seeing a new town we had not visited before and supporting a community - one who rebuilt itself after such a disaster.
We also liked the idea of a pool (even though it is actually quite cold, small and not maintained with leaves in it), the gym (also small), the sauna, the tennis court and walk to other restaurants. We complained about the noisy fridge in our room that made it hard to relax or sleep, and even after we mentioned it, nothing was apparently done, and no one followed up.l to tell us if the looked at it. At checkout, the receptionist told me they get this feedback a fair bit and I should have unplugged it.
There was rubbish left at the pool which isn’t a great look.
The most frustrating part was the restaurant on our last night. We arrived at 6:57pm expecting to have dinner like we had at the start of our stay, only to be told it had closed at 6:45pm. Incredibly early - when we checked in we were told 8pm.
Apparently we were meant to notice a tiny sign at reception. Whats worse, we were at the restaurant 1 hour earlier with no clear signs.
We were then told to go find somewhere else… in a town where there was one other option.
And seeing the chef at the pub wasn’t great. When I complained, it's clear this chef is a know issue based on her reaction.
For a brand like Accor, which talks so much about hospitality and guest experience, this felt completely off. There was just no sense of care or awareness from the staff. Joy in hospitality is everything, and it was missing at almost all levels.
This isn’t just a booking to us but it seems that it is all that is cared for. For us, it was a family holiday, and the people who help bring the holiday to life are everything.
Based on this experience, I’d suggest choosing elsewhere.
- mariahc401 (6/5): Truth is, this place is disappointing. - Truth is, this place is disappointing.
We travel a lot, and honestly this was a really disappointing stay — especially on the last night.
We really liked the idea of seeing a new town we had not visited before and supporting a community who rebuilt itself after such disaster.
But… the service 🥺🥺🥺

- Darrell (7/5): - Great location. Room was modern and clean. Restaurant was understaffed.
- Nicholson (9/5): - Fantastic location in the middle of town, great restaurant and large clean rooms with king size comfy beds. There is a pool but no spa bath at hotel. There us a sauna and gym. For the price they could afford a Nespresso and biscuits in the room.
- Ani (3/5): -
- Caballero Biggs (8/5): -
- Graeme (6/5): Not inclined to return readily - Good but not tops.
Location great. Limited bedside tables and no bedside clock. Limited seating in room and no lounge chair. Breakfast accessed only by braving the weather outside
- Alex (9/5): Beautiful would recommend - Was really nice and clean Nothing
- claire (9/5): -
- Melissa (6/5): Comfortable in a beautiful location - Emma was a delight, generally staff were very pleasant and the property is well maintained, albeit dated. Check in and out was efficient. Dinner bookings essential (for child friendly times) but was not informed of that upon check in. Very basic room necessities (ie 2 mugs, 2 glasses, 2 spoons, 2 towels- ie no spares). Toilet was broken, seat detached, carpets not clean (ie not vacuumed in room), no room service (despite “in room dining” option on phone. Requested a clean of room after night 3, only replaced cups and towels, no actual clean of room. Pool was unkept (leaves and dirty).
- Ricky (9/5): The stay was great and the staff were exceptional - Clean, easy access and great facilities Everything was perfect except the pillows but that’s nothing
- Road15928326247 (6/5): Average - We went to Peppers Marysville for a work conference. The rooms were fantastic nice and modern, very clean.
The food for the conference, breakfast, lunches, break times and dinner was very average.
Swimming pool was dirty full of debris when it was hot weather.
Would stay here again only for accommodation, not for meals.
Staff were fantastic
- Diane (6/5): The stay was great, able to get into room much earlier which was appreciated but the superior room was very basic. - Location Superior room - no coffee machine, stale instant coffee - no hairdryer
- Fathima Afra (10/5): - A beautiful place and neighbourhood. An amazing place for vacation.
- Charlotte (10/5): - We had a wonderful few nights stay, the rooms are modern clean and comfortable
- Martin (8/5): -
- miriamb638 (10/5): Perfect Family Celebration Stay - Stayed for 2 nights for a family celebration with a group of 14 ranging from 2 years - late 70 years. The accommodation is very comfortable, modern and clean with a nice aesthetic. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our celebration dinner complete with gluten free birthday cake in the Andiamo restaurant was perfect for our group and the staff were very understanding of our dietary and children's needs.
Event Executive Darren was a delight to work with and cheerfully fulfilled all my requests. Very good value. Highly recommend.
Just a note - the beds are all new but the mattresses are a bit soft for my liking (they have the extra top layer)

- STEPHANIE (7/5): -
- Greg (10/5): -
- George (8/5): Enjoyed our stay. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary . Restaurant meals were excellent - Location. Central to everything. The fridge was empty. Even a bottle of water would have been nice
- Felicity (6/5): - Location great
Comfy bed No water in the fridge
Garden around pool unkempt
That was no opportunity for earlier check in and later check out as was obvious that resort wasn’t that busy that night
- Nicole (10/5): An excellent family mini break - The staff were all so friendly and helpful! Honestly, just the nicest people! Facilities are lovely, clean, and made for a lovely family mini break No issues
- Tharini (10/5): Great stay - The A/C of our room was not that much cooler on the day we visit, so we asked the front staff to get us a fan and they offered that to us. As the room was not perfect due the A/C issue, they offered us free breakfast. The front staff and all the other staffs who worked in there were so good. Will come again too. The pool looks like not maintained properly.
- Tina (9/5): -
- Jo (10/5): -
- ROBIN (10/5): simply fantastic - every thing nothing
- Reema (1/5): the worst - The worst experience I've ever had in life. The food was supposed to be fabulous.its the most basic breakfast. the pool, the food ,the room
- Brandon (9/5): -
- Shona (5/5): -
- John (8/5): -
- Selvi (8/5): The staff were amazing.. thank you even giving us a bathtub room it was simply amazing! The fire outside was a wonderful -
- Jemma (9/5): Great place, great hotel - Staff, gym Getting from car to hotel via two bridges and two lifts
- AJ (10/5): -
- Jelena (7/5): Really nice, fresh mornings, loves the homey feel of the atmosphere in Marysville - Location was beautiful. All the essence of a small country town with out the hustle or a huge city Restaurant could have had a more child friendly menu
- olivia (10/5): -
- Joel (9/5): -
- Sanjaya (6/5): NOT ALL 4 STARS quality ... learn from similar property nearby e.g. RACV healesville. - Clean room, comfy beds, quiet, good parking, lovely town centre No water bottles. Couldn't call room service to get one. Usually, you have a folio in hotel rooms about amenities, restaurant, town centre info, attractions, etc. I missed not having that in the room. Hotel could offer communal microwave facilities to heat up baby food. Pool could be heated, indoor like RACV healesville. Think why should I come there outside the snow season.
- Breanne (10/5): -
- Shing Shan (10/5): Exception stay - Clean and spacious. Very chill and comfortable surroundings. N.A.
- Lorna (9/5): - The small town of Marysville is so beautiful and friendly. Felt like such a relaxing holiday and only there 2 days. Staff in hotel and all the local venues were lovely and made us feel so welcome. Pool is a little cold!
- Catherina (7/5): lovely relaxing weekend - location in heart of Marysville
- Filip (10/5): -
- Corey (8/5): -
- kamaljit (10/5): A splendid 2 days exploring Marysville! Hotel was comfortable! - Location, cleanliness. And Karen front of house manager was amazing! She shared history with us of the town and building and was so lovely to chat to. She worked beyond her shift just to answer all our questions. I hope the management promote her to hotel manager as she certainly has the skills. The manager of the hotel was very unfriendly! Pool was too small
And too many noisey kids. Not enough chairs as got busy at one point.
- Vera (7/5): A little disappointed for a 5 star property - Location, Matt in the bar very friendly and gave excellent service. Balcony had not been cleaned, perhaps a few more kitchen utensils and crockery ie. plates, saucers for cups.
- Christine (8/5): First time here will be back - Location was excellent...rooms comfortable and clean and the staff went above and beyond for us
- Michelle (10/5): Excellent - Location! Restaurant and rooms very spacious and comfortable Pool area was a little average
- Olivia (3/5): -
- Joel Ch (8/5): - Very clean room and professional receptionist.
Plenty of parking
Central location
Request for both rooms to be close together was fulfilled. Booked for a twin room with 2 double beds but were told the room was flooded. Refund process is a little painful.
End up had to book a king room with a twin room. Fridge in twin room was not working as expected, unable to chill a drink over night.
Ceiling has trace of water damage.
- NATALY (8/5): -
- Shane (6/5): Average - Location For a place that’s relatively brand new, it felt rundown and tired. The building itself has clearly had care and time invested in it, but that attention hasn’t been maintained. Dinner reservations were set overlooking outdoor areas with fallen chairs, mowed around like a broken-down car left on a front lawn.
It has all the potential in the world, but it feels like the love has faded.
- Moumita.mou.1987 (8/5): -
- Ying (8/5): - the location, the staff are friendly. Breakfast buffet is very delicious. The bathroom is clean and spacious enough. Like the bathroom products they use there so much that I searched and bought some myself. The bed linen has some stains but couldn't be bothered to get them changed cos it was late at night and we were tired. The TV remote doesn't work well we had to unplug and replug the power to reset the TV for it to work for some reason
