- Bruce (1/5): Don't book at this property if you have pets - surprise hidden outrageous fees! - I booked the property as it was noted as pet friendly. Upon checking in, I was informed there was a $100 non-refundable pet fee. $100!!! That's crazy. Such a fee should be declared in the Booking process and not left as a hidden fee - a fee that is only revealed when I cannot cancel the room and I need the room for the night. I felt I was let down by Booking.com and was taken advantage of by the property.
- jvalkos (10/5): Great CS and a lot of bang for the buck. - I cannot say enough about the Customer Service. I especially have to give high accolades to Jeremiah and Kone. They take total customer satisfaction to a higher level. Both of them listen and understand questions and concerns. They are great as concierge as well, recommending restaurants, sites and places to visit and things to do. The rooms are kept clean. Full service is once/week with “fresh ups” every couple of days. You can request full service more often. The staff is very accommodating. The continental breakfast is very good as well. You get a lot of bang for the buck.
- emontalvogc (4/5): Bring a Respirator - These pictures are not accurate the kitchen area is nothing like the photos. Stove was old barely shut. My wife slept in the car saying she felt mold in the room which caused her to have respiratory issues. We left early the next day. So no review on b-fast items. The rooms were small but nice, just the kitchen was old. Front desk gal was very respectful as for the manager, he was hesitant to return the points we used but did so later on.
- TheBlitz (10/5): Mmmm that breakfast - Great hotel near the BP Center if you have a meeting there. Pros: Amazing breakfast. So many choices. I just came back from a resort with awful food so maybe that colors my approach, but the fact there were lots of warm choices and an oatmeal bar to die for made this such a great place to start the day. Near the Moose's Tooth, a great pizza place Great kitchen area with frig and coffeemaker. 24/7 coffee in the lobby, so that's a win too. Cons: Only one I found, the heater/cooler is loud. From other reviews, sounds like they need replacing. Hope that happens. I actually slept ok and I don't think the system did me in for sleep, but you sure notice when it goes on and you're there.

Not my favorite place, but certainly better than a lot of what is out there. I’m giving 3 stars because I was here a month ago and I am finding that this is really a hit or miss location. I chose this place twice because of the price. I’d roll the dice and stay again if the price was right.

Great breakfast every morning. If you are in Anchorage and you’re looking for an extended stay hotel, I highly recommend this one. You won’t be disappointed.

- Pamela (2/5): - We had 3 rooms reserved- 2 studio king rooms and 1 double queen. The double queen and one of the kings were fine. But the 2nd studio king given to us was actually an accessible 1-queen room. Immediately went back to the front desk to ask why and change rooms, and we were told the hotel was booked solid for the night, and that "in their system, that room is listed as a king." I pointed out that as the manager, he should know that the room is incorrectly marked as a king room, not an accessible queen, and therefore not give it to someone who has prepaid for a king room. He claimed not to know that this was the case with this room. It's not a big hotel, so that's ridiculous. Then my husband and I asked for a discount, just for the price difference between what we paid for and what we got. He said no, because "there was nothing he could do since we prepaid via Expedia." Mind you, this hotel is in a lousy location, no views, etc, and still charged us nearly $600 per room including taxes and fees for the night. There is no Towneplace on the planet that is worth that much money. All hotels in Alaska are overpriced, but this is crazy. Obviously, this hotel is putting 3rd party bookings in lousy rooms that are not what you paid for, and then claiming they can do nothing about it. So I called Expedia, and they handled giving us a coupon for another time. Totally unacceptable here. Feels like bait and switch happened. You've been warned.
- X5283ANjulieb (6/5): Great location. Grungy. - The location of the hotel is great. Very easy to get onto Seward Highway from here. It’s right next to the mall and grocery store so you can walk around and shop. We stayed in a two bedroom unit on the second floor so that we could have space and the kitchen. We were not expecting luxury accommodations, but the furniture in the living space was ugly, outdated, and grungy. There was nothing really comfortable to sit on. The table and chairs were huge and heavy and took up half the living room. The air conditioner seemed very dank and musty and loud. It didn’t work very well to cool down the room on the two extra warm days we had. I also had a headache the entire time I stayed in the room and it felt to me like it was some kind of a mildew situation. We left for almost 2 days during our 6 day visit, and asked for a room refresh while we were gone, we arrived back to the hotel to find that there was no room refresh. When we asked about it, they told us we weren’t on the schedule. The next day we had a room refresh which included that they made the beds - but no clean sheets. They gave us new towels. I had to go to the desk and ask them for another roll of toilet paper and to replace the conditioner which was empty in the shower dispenser. They did take out the garbage. Speaking of garbage because of the every three days room refresh, people turn to put the trash out into the hall and it sits there for days and days on end. This is not an experience that makes you feel like you’re walking into a clean situation. They have a coin laundry, which is clean and worked well. The pool was nice. The spa jets don’t work. There is a patio with a Barbeque off the pool. We went outside to check out the barbeque I got locked out and had to walk around the building to go in the front door in a wet bathing suit. Also, the barbeque was broken. There were no signs telling us we would be locked out if we went out there. I had my key card with me, but the scanner was broken. The breakfast is what you would expect any place, so that was handy. The staff was really polite and friendly, but didn’t go out of their way to offer any hospitality. We did get a call from the manager who assured us that the paint crew would not be painting in front of our room in the evening we returned from a long day trip only to find them pulling up to the building and unloading at 5 PM to start doing maintenance on the building. All in all an adequate place to stay, my overarching feeling leaving is that I spent a lot of money and that I am happy to be returning my own home, which is far more clean and comfortable.
- edaH2797SR (4/5): Just OK - Stayed six nights. The beds are very comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower is good. Otherwise, the room seems ready for a serious refreshing, and is a bit run down with some truly puzzling furniture choices. The air conditioners seem to be on their last legs, with poor output, a musty smell, and being LOUD when running. The quality of service was just OK. We asked for maid service midway through the week on a day when we were out. Staff agreed but it didn't happen. Breakfast was adequate, but the options seemed to decrease as the week went on. I'd give it a three if it cost less.
- nijo00 (8/5): Worth staying - Stayed here 3 times during our Alaska trip. Good sized rooms with well equipped kitchenette. Very helpful reception staff. Midtown so you really need a car. Breakfast is ok, cereal, waffle machine etc. Hot food leaves something to be desired, can only describe it as rubbery. Only reason didn’t give a 5 is the use of plastic cutlery at breakfast and the sink in the bathroom wasn’t clean on our first visit.

I travel a lot for work but this one was just a quick stop in Anchorage with my husband and I really, really enjoyed it! Lisa the manager was very attentive and welcoming to us. The front desk lady, Janice, was very sweet and made sure we were all good and accommodated for. She was also setting up the breakfast bar for everyone. Housekeeping was very clean as well, at least I didn’t find any hairs in the showers like I usually do in other hotels. Thank you TownPlace Suites!

- 649maryannl (6/5): Not quite what we expected - The suite we had was perfectly adequate and clean, although everything was very worn. The location was not too far off the beaten path, but the alley entrance was a bit off-putting at first. We did have some drunks yelling outside our window the first night, but they finally left. That can happen in any urban environment. However, the breakfast was WAY sub-par, resulting in our going out both mornings to eat elsewhere. The location, while it felt safe, was in an area that did not lend itself to walking, so plan on taking a car to go just about everywhere.

Friendly staff. The room we got was tiny and not clean. Just adequate. Good enough for one night. Walking distance to places to eat and Walmart. Based on all the great reviews I had expected more. The furniture and carpet were very worn and stained. Deep cleaning had not taken place in our room for many months. Simple breakfast offered. OK for a night.

- 83blub (4/5): Hotel stay - I stayed at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Anchorage Midtown for a week while I was in town for work. Overall, it was a decent hotel, but I was expecting more from Marriott. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they were quick to resolve any issues that I had. The gym and pool were nice, and they were a great way to relax after a long day of work. However, I was disappointed with the breakfast. The food was bland and uninspired, and there was a limited selection. I would have preferred to have a continental breakfast instead of a buffet. The rooms were also small, and the internet was slow. The TV was tiny and poorly placed. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to someone who is looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay, but I would not recommend it to someone who is looking for a luxurious or high-end experience. **2 Stars**

- 945orlandor (10/5): Thank You Guys - I have been a regular guest at this hotel, but in February 2023 I felt ill and had to have a medical leave, it kept me away for a few months, you might think why is he sharing that on this platform, I tell you why, upon my return to work I was assigned once again to Alaska, I was very happy I was returning to a hotel I personally adore, from the front desk clerks to housekeeping there are no words to express my gratitude. On the day of my arrival I was greeted by Lisa Michaelson hotel GM and Mike they made me felt I was home, from the goodie bag to postcard it felt so good to have individuals treat you that way. So if you are in Alaska on business or pleasure give the TownePlace Suites Midtown a try you will not regret it I promise, you and yours will be treated like family, and the best part is close to downtown and there are great restaurants walking distance from the hotel.
- X9173VZdavide (10/5): A Homey Environment Welcoming All!! - The Staff is exceptional. They go far above trying to make everyone feel welcome and at home in this wonderful little hotel. From the very first heartfelt welcome at the front desk to the friendly housekeepers and breakfast attendant, I felt at home away from home. The lobby was a very homey environment with the fireplace and relaxing, comfortable seats, which seemed to be used by casual travelers and business travelers as well. I will definitely make this my favorite hotel destination in Anchorage. I will be back!!

- Danarlene (8/5): - Hotel is in a nice location. Main lobby looks nice with all of their Christmas decorations. The main lobby and dining area are clean. Fitness center is clean and equipments are working. Pool is so cold, they said Heater wasn’t working. Hot tub/ jet spa is working but did have an excessive amount of salt. They need to run a salt test on that. Overall stay was pleasant because employees are so nice and helpful. There wasn’t a trash bag in the bathroom trash can so I asked the FD and they gave me what I needed. The server/cook was so nice as well. She made sure all products are refilled when emptied by guests.

I was disappointed to find out that there was John continental breakfast, not even a welcome refreshment area for a glass of water, or maybe some hot tea. The elevators seemed old to say the least, and the ride was a bit bumpy. After calling the front desk to ask for a blanket, they told me I could come down and get one. Where is our last place that we stayed? Their housekeeper brought one up for us. I just think the small things to make it so much better!

- Justin (10/5): - Rooms were clean and ready for us earlier than expected. Has a pool, hot tub, laundry and workout room. Breakfast everyday has a variety of hot and cold food, pastries and fruits. Front desk staff for the most part were great. Management was informed of the 1 desk staff that seemed to be blah about Alaska in general. We did have confusion on a parking fee, but once it was explained it made sense, but was refunded to us anyway. Pool was down for a couple hours upon arrival due to chemical imbalance, but was resolved quickly and correctly. We will likely stay here again when we visit next time.

The lot did not get cleared until the day we were leaving. The room was small, but suited our needs and had more than we bargained for. However, heating/temperature control was terrible. The unit was extremely loud, the windows were not sealed and let a cold draft in so badly we could not open the curtains during the day. If the heating unit and sealing was better, would be a 5 star. We'd stay again.
- Jason (10/5): - A fence right outsiolde the window. Plus the window lock system is completely ineffective as people brealing in can simply lift the bar and move it and sneak in. Especially since the fans are so loud A preventetive would be to have two with a lock system Not electronic as malfunctions would occur. A two piece bar set up with a fog horn to prevent intruders

- William (2/5): Never stay there again or use hotels.com again. - I accidentally booked an extra night, realized as soon as I pushed send literally while it was going to the next page. Contacted Hotels.com who had me going back and forth for an hour. They said hotel would not let me out of the last day of a 5 day trip even though it booked 2 mins prior and we should ask the hotel when we get there. Of course hotel said we had to go thru Hotels.com. Hate Hotelscom now as well as t his hotel. I have given Hotels.com hundreds of thousands of dollars in business over the last 15 years and I could not get help on this one trip. Equally mad at the hotel who would not accomodate for what was clearly a push of a button accident.

- Avery (8/5): - I had a wonderful stay. My only complaint was that I only had a 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper with no extra rolls in the room. I of course didn’t discover this until the middle of the night😳 Other than that it as great.

- Jennifer (6/5): Mother daughter getaway - The staff was VERY friendly and checkin was a breeze. I love that they keep all the exterior doors locked to keep out the unwanted visitors. The only downside was my bed sheets were stained and dirty, and the room was in desperate need of some TLC. Thankfully we had another bed that appeared to be clean.

The staff was extremely friendly and the beds were comfortable. We would stay here again, for sure. There is a large population of homeless in Anchorage. There are members of the homeless population around the hotel, but they did not disturb us.
- Leanne (8/5): Great location - Great location - kind is central to everything for your Lyft or Uber (since rental cars are non-existent). Lots of good food and shopping within walking distance from the hotel.

And i they charged me 200$ for excessive dirty. IM BEING CHARGED WHAT I HAVE NOT DONE. Dont Go towneplace midtown theyll charge you what you have not done that are damaged.i give this 0 Star hotel for family.

But we asked for the sheets to be changed & they left them in a trash bag outside the door. Not sure if those were Covid related or not. Over all nice place. But they should hire security for the homeless & intoxicated people wandering around the parking lot
- Verified traveler (4/5): - 1)Neighbors above us kept Pounding every step they took with no regards that There Are People In the Room Below Them Trying To Sleep! 2)11:55 pm had to also endure neighbors above us having a yelling match with a lot of "F" Bombs flying out of their mouths. 3)1:13 am neighbors above us again Pounding, threw something against the wall because I heard it slide down and then some kind of glass sound hit the floor. (This is when I couldn't take anymore of this Rude behavior & went downstairs to notify the front desk about the behaviors my family & I have had to put up with during our stay.) She said, "Give them 8 minutes & if they continue, give me a call at the front desk & she'll take care of them for me." *There is No Pool Use and yet Alyeska's Olympic-sized pool is open. *A disappointing bag with some form of waffle, a chew bar, small container of orange juice (like our kids get in their cafeteria lunch) & a bottle of water was their form of Breakfast for hotel guests. *Upon checking out on the morning of the 14th, the employee at the desk was terribly rude, unfriendly, had an attitude & never smiled. She griped at my 10 year old son, my husband & I for not wearing a mask as we were walking from the elevator to the front door & yet the gentleman she was talking to in the lobby wasn't wearing a mask either. My family & I have been visiting your hotel for years because to us, it was the best hotel in Anchorage to us but this by far is the worst stay ever. We will not be back.

I could tell too, room was kinda dirty. Stains on walls and it was dusty. I would not stay at this property again, they cheap out on housekeeping to try and save a buck. I’d stay at a Vrbo if I knew this.

- Priscilla (8/5): Medical/Family trip - The hotel was very clean and the desk people were nice! The breakfast was bagged due to covid which is ridiculous but whatever. And I would recommend a pillow or two more for each bed.

- Kendall (8/5): Comfortable and spacious - Couldn’t use the pool or hottub due to Covid but we’re very kind when we accidentally set off the fire alarm making bacon :) Good room for the value and close enough to amenities. The ice cream shop across the street is a must go as well. A few homeless people wandering around but I don’t think that was particular to the location.

Big closet to hang clothes and put bags. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Good central location. Close to downtown. I’ll stay again on a trip
