Guest Reviews
- Jean (6/5): - Some staff vey good.
Evening meal was good .
Surroundings are very peaceful.
Arrived early, could have been welcomed a,little more warmly!
Rooms a little sad
- Verified traveler (10/5): A True Gem - The cabin was absolutely charming, with a stunning view of the lake that made every moment feel special. It had everything we could possibly need—and the linens were pure luxury!
We enjoyed a peaceful walk through the beautiful surrounding area, then relaxed in the cozy lounge with a few drinks and a game of crib. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and everyone from the staff to the owners made us feel right at home.
We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
- Kevin (10/5): Great stay again - Another great stay this time in the resort building vs the cabins. Peaceful and quiet retreat. Had a great dinner and breakfast this time. We will be back in the future when we are passing through.
- Mike (4/5): - We booked this accommodation through Expedia and were led to believe that we had booked a cabin. When we checked in we were told that we had only booked a room in the motel section. We paid a premium price thinking we were booking the cabin. We never would have paid that much for just a room. The manager offered no solutions.
- Monika (10/5): - there should be more trails available for walking
- Takako (4/5): - It was a hot day, but there was no air conditioning in the room. So, we couldn't rest in the room.
For dinner we chose a simple menu. But it took 1.5Hr. for the food to serve after ordering.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - May be excellent depending what you are looking for. LLJ Resort was a one night stop for us travelling. So some key aspects like no TV, no hair dryer, no WiFi and making sure to use bottled water not tap water for consuming were a bit of annoyance. If you wanted time away from tge world and get on the lake this place may more be your experience esp. with their cabins.
- alissa (10/5): - Absolutely loved our one night stay ! The surrounding area is stunning ! Such a quiet peaceful place to unwind !
- Paul (8/5): - Nice spot by a lake
- Jessica (10/5): - My mother, my son, and I recently stayed at the Resort this was our second time visiting around this time of year so we could attend the Kamloops Powwow and it did not disappoint!
We went canoeing at sunset and were lucky enough to see loons with their babies, and even a beaver gliding by.
We also went fishing during our stay. While we didn’t catch anything, it was still a lot of fun we saw lots of big fish in the water, and around sunset they started jumping everywhere.
The room was very comfortable. I had requested a first-floor room to accommodate my mother, and the staff kindly made sure that was arranged, which we really appreciated.
We had a delicious dinner at the on-site restaurant the food was excellent. The only small downside was that there is just one firepit on the property, and it was in use by a large family reunion. We didn’t want to interrupt them, so we missed out on having a campfire and making s’mores. Still, it didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our time.
This resort has become a special spot for our family, and we look forward to coming back again!
- Csaba (4/5): - We couldn’t plan our next day trip as celular service is very poor in the area, and the property does not offer wi-fi for guests.
- BRIANNE (8/5): - The room was quite dated and could use a cosmetic facelift but the beds are super comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. The food at the restaurant was really good too! If you’re looking for a rustic stay, this is the place.
- wherzmud (10/5): Hidden Gem - This beautiful place is truly a hidden gem. My brother and I went to fish and stayed in the lodge. The robes were so soft, the beds and bedding were awesome. The food in the restaurant was great and the owners and other staff were so accommodating and friendly. Felt like home. I would highly recommend to anyone that this place checks off all you would want when away. Oh, big fish too! Thx for our stay and we will be back soon.
- Andrew (8/5): - Very nice location, staff were brilliant, rooms were clean but please be aware that there was no air conditioning in the room that seemed to be working so the room was very hot. Restaurant was fantastic, food was excellent so overall a good stay.
- kristensG2766KW (10/5): Beautiful Spot - We stayed for a two nights in the cabins at Lac Le Jeune. What an amazing place to stay. First off the restaurant was amazing. The cabins were clean and tidy with comfortable beds.
We loved the mixed of being able to cook in the cabin or eat at the restaurant.
Highly recommend the peace of paradise.
- davidkZ9513EQ (10/5): A Hidden Gem for Families and Teams Alike! - We recently stayed at Lac Le Jeune Resort during a volleyball tournament in Kamloops, and it was truly one of the most memorable experiences our daughter and her entire team had.
The two owners were absolutely outstanding—warm, accommodating, and incredibly thoughtful. They even adjusted the breakfast schedule to give the girls a bit more rest after a long day of intense tournament play. It’s rare to find hosts who go that extra mile, and their support made all the difference.
The setting was nothing short of magical. Surrounded by nature with the lake just steps away, the girls had an absolute blast swimming, playing volleyball, and ending their days roasting s’mores by the fireplace. It was the perfect environment for bonding, laughter, and creating unforgettable memories.
Whether you're planning a family escape or looking for the ideal team accommodation for a tournament or event in Kamloops, Lac Le Jeune Resort is a hidden gem worth discovering.
Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back!
- Roxanne (6/5): - I was disappointed with location of room. My lakeview room was on main floor. It really had a very limited view of lake. The main view was of shed and grassy area. If the resort had been busy, I might understand room location but since it wasn’t I am wondering where other lake view rooms were located. The staff however was great and food in dining room was good. The view from dining room was awesome.
- Rob (10/5): - So good to see this iconic Resort open again after fire ran through the area in 2019. A superb job has been done with the re-open.. Comfortable, friendly staff, excellent location. I'm looking forward to staying again. Well done Lac La Jeune
- Lori (10/5): - An amazing place. Very relaxing with an abundance of nature around.
- Leone (10/5): - Peaceful, friendly, immaculately clean and comfortable!
- Michael (10/5): Relaxing Getaway - What an amazing spot. Loons, birds, fishing and a beautiful view. The staff was amazing and the food too!
- Daniel (10/5): - Highly recommend - Vivek and staff are fantastic hosts and the location is conveniently close yet appropriately far . Caught some big fish with my son and had a great meal in lodge restaurant
Great experience and will definitely return
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Great property for a weekend getaway. The new owners are fantastic and they are making lots of improvements to the property. Great for fishing, bird watching, hiking etc.
We will be back.
- Jennifer and Darryl (10/5): - Our family absolutely loved this little slice of heaven. If you are looking to unplug and unwind, this is the place to go!
- philomenac194 (6/5): Dining Room Experience - Hi Monica and Vivek, I gave a gift card to my daughter and son-in-law for a meal in your dining room. They said the food was great, but were disappointed that they could not purchase any of your non alcoholic wine by the glass. There was no mention of coffee or tea or pop. I really want you two to succeed up there. I'm going to give you this feedback for that reason alone. Lise said the fireplace is beautiful but would look so warm and inviting if it had lots of candles nestled in birch bark or cedar bows or both. Also she suggested getting local artists to hang their pictures on your walls. She's all for ambiance and as beautiful as that room is, she felt it lacked warmth, which she felt pictures and candles etc would be a good addition. I know you two are working hard to make LLJR a success. You have done so much already. I know Joan and I really enjoyed our stay. Hope to get up there soon to see you. All the best. Hugs Phil Churchill
- Elsa (10/5): - The team at the resort were great and very accommodating!
- Jodi (10/5): - We absolutely loved our short stay at Lac Le Jeune Resort.
The beds were comfortable, food was amazing & the service was exceptional.
We will definitely visit again when we get back to Canada!
- Bevan (10/5): - Very helpful personal.
- David (6/5): - For the price you can get much better. No wifi, no tv, no potable water in rooms and no liquor license. The area is beautiful and we needed this specific location due to an event but it needs a bit of an upgrade to bring it to the price range they want to receive.
- Quinn (6/5): - The price that was quoted to me on Expedia was not the price I was given when I arrived, so I asked to have that rectified, but I still have not been contacted. Also, our cabin had a hole in the glass in the window. You couldn’t lock the window window and the window would allow you to put your hand in and unlock the door, The morning I had to leave there it was no running water so you couldn’t flush the toilet. You couldn’t take a shower. Also, we asked to have our fireplace fixed. It was electric. He said he would send somebody over to take care of it. Nobody ever did the refrigerator in our room, only partially worked. It did not keep our food very cold. it was extremely rustic on the lake,
- rob (6/5): - Good to see a new owner taking a go at the property, upping the service level – boat man Robert went above and beyond in prepping our boat rental. But the problem is that prices have gone up, and what was a value-priced stay in the rustic cabins is now out of synch with other area lakes, in particular the cost of a boat rental of $120 per day. We went one hour over and were charged a half-day rental fee of $80. Most lakes in the area charge less than $90 per day, and that's with a gas engine and the cost of gas, not just an electric motor.
- Steve (8/5): - Simple and beautiful
- Paul (10/5): - The property is peaceful and relaxing. The hosts and staff are amazing, so friendly and accommodating.
- William (10/5): - Vivek and staff were very helpful.
Great job on the renovation and updates to the property.
Restaurant service and food were excellent.
- Jessica (10/5): - Amazing service, great views
- Ma Lourdes (10/5): - we stayed during the long weekend - Aug 3 - 5 2024. It was a tranquil place. The staff are nice and will accommodate your needs. 1x family stayed at the cabin while we have 2 rooms at the hotel. The hotel rooms are dated and need renovations and cooling unit during summer but the management provided some additional fans to keep us cool. Boating along the lake was really nice and we had fun. Over-all it was a nice place to relax and bond with family. We recommend this place.
- Matthew (4/5): - This property is not as described. It seemed like a great option, however, it did not come close to hitting standard expectations from a hotel. The rooms are beyond terrible. Wallpaper peeling, holes in the ceiling, permanently fogged bathroom mirror. The water was unusable. Not drinkable. The provided solution was a communal water dispenser in the lobby and a glass carafe to fill up yourself. They had no ice. They informed me they are too busy attending to other matters to bring in ice. When I addressed all of the above, they offered us dinner, however the idea of eating food prepared with not drinkable water was off putting so I declined. They have a ridiculous cancellation policy- you cannot cancel two weeks leading up to your reservation. All I wanted was a refund and to leave, this was never offered so we stayed the night and got up early to GTFO. At least the bed linen was clean. We were afraid of the water so didn’t use the shower. Oh also they are not licensed, but advertise a bar and restaurant. The menu features non existent overpriced wine options. The toilet stopped flushing. Upon further inspection the chain mechanism was held together with a paper clip. They charge a pet fee higher than most luxury hotels. This was not a good experience.
- Riverwise (8/5): - Beautiful area, peaceful quiet lake with ample hiking, water activities, parks.
- Cedric (10/5): - Beautiful relaxing spot with very friendly owner operated hotel.
- rickheatherley (10/5): New owners, new life, great food, excellent service, awesome hosts - Very excited that the Lac Le Jeune Resort was open again. The hosts Vivek and Monica, and their staff were just awesome. Always checking to see if everything was ok. The food at the restaurant was 5 star delicious. The beds in cabin #1 were the most comfortable beds we've been in, right up there with a Fairmont or Marriott. The beauty of this property is the location, right on the lake. No wifi, no TV, but that'sa bonus. Get disconnected and enjoy the lake, or just sit on the deck soaking in nature. Really though, can't express more how great the hosts are. We'll see them again next month.
- Samikittycat (10/5): Great Lakeside Escape - Hosts Monica and Vivek are lovely, welcoming and professional. They are very accommodating to any needs you may have during your stay.
Paul was super friendly and chatty, Diana told us that we could see the northern lights. I'm so glad she did or we wouldn't have looked.
We loved the breakfast and coffee in the restaurant. We thought it was very creative as a make ahead option. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the blueberry compote was so yummy!
Beds are super comfortable. Linens, bath robes and towels are high end and thick.
We thought the addition of portable fans in the rooms was very considerate but it should be noted that there is no a/c.
Also, a notice that the resort does not have approval for a liquor license (yet) should be posted on the resort (restaurant) website.
We felt the resort should have communicated the a/c and liquor license issue before our stay so that we could bring our own booze if we wanted.
We did enjoy our stay very much and will definitely be back.
- H2857UUsarah (10/5): Awesome Gem - Stayed here for 2 nights and had amazing service from Vivek and Monica and Paul. They have amazing food here and such a beautiful , serene place to stay and enjoy the lake. Cant wait to go again next year.

- 2ofusinbc (4/5): restaurant, a no go - sorry but can't really say anything good, wish I could.
No air conditioning, no ice for water, no bison for bison burgers, (basically a meatball on a bun). Beet salad was meh. Chocolate mousse gritty texture, blueberry crisp topping just seemed like straight oatmeal. No liquor license, so just non alcoholic drinks.
- Devjit (10/5): - We were on a road trip coming back from Banff to Vancouver and looking for something along the way. This was a total surprise! An amazing little resort with beautiful views of the lake. The rooms were super comfortable and the food was amazing (braised Beef). The most calming and refreshing little place. Exactly what we needed.
- Richard (8/5): Tolle Lage, Entspannung pur. - Ältere Zimmer mit Erneuerungsbedarf, freundlicher Empfang und Bedienung, gutes Essen, tolle, ruhige Lage am See,
- Buffi (4/5): - The lake is beautiful. The staff were friendly, but hard to find. For example, when we checked out I couldn't find a staff member at all. In the end we were charged twice for our room. They rectified this, but it was a hassle.
Be aware there is no air conditioning and the rooms get really hot. It was not a great sleep.
My biggest issue is that there was a water advisory and we weren't informed until 2 days before our arrival. Upon further research, the advisory seems to have been there for several months. We didn't see the email as we were travelling, so were unaware until we arrived. They do have water coolers around the hotel, but we would not have stayed had we known. (We arrived too late to find another hotel).
I would also double check the breakfast menu before you arrive. We mistakenly assumed they had regular breakfast but they only had a cold breakfast of decent items (smoked salmon, yogurt and granola), but not things my kids would eat. Other food establishments are quite a distance away.
- 861LauraT (10/5): Amazing dinner and so worth the drive! - 6 of us went up for the best dinner at Lac Le Jeune Resort. We had the bison sliders, the honey roasted beet salad, the grapes and greens salad with chicken, lemon thyme chicken, the crispy pork belly, and the Moroccan braised beef. Everyone enjoyed their dinners! The deserts were fantastic as well. 5 out of 5! Great food, great service! Beautiful views!
Go check them out! Well worth it!
Thank you Monica and Vivek!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Simply wonderful - location, cabin, staff & food - Beautiful location & cozy cabins on the lake side. Wildlife watching was spectacular! A great place to recharge.

- Leandro (10/5): - A ok overall. I wouldn’t come here during peak hot season because there’s no AC. Great and friendly staff.
- Kevin (10/5): Great stay - Stayed for 3 nights in June 2024. This resort is under new management. Vivek one of the new owners was an awesome hands on host during the week while we visited family in Kamloops and Vancouver. Stayed in chalet #2 and #5, both were well equipped with all of the necessities as well as some extra items like full size fridge, cook top, pots/ pans, napkins, salt/pepper, water cooler, citronella candles, shampoos and the housecoats were a great touch to lounge around in. Wonderful staff all around too. The place was spotless, bedding was fresh and super comfy. Keeping in mind this rustic place has been shuttered up for a few years and there still is some maintenance to be done, those things could be overlooked for the sheer charm of the area and fantastic setting. There is a restaurant on site, we didn't try it this time as we had food we had brought but from the sounds of the daily menu we will likely give it a try next time. Pretty sure this will be our go to place when visiting in the future.

- Verified traveler (10/5): A peaceful, pleasant place to unwind - We and our little dog received a very warm welcome at this newly re-opened resort. While enjoying a delicious dinner in their lakeview dining room, we saw many trout jumping shortly before dusk. The incredibly comfortable beds, first-rate linens, mini-fridge, and coffeemaker met all our needs perfectly with the exception of the shower: it took a long time to get warm--about ten minutes. Vivek and Monique are committed to providing guests with a wonderful experience, and we definitely plan to make a return trip.
- Bob (10/5): - Beautiful surroundings. Lake and.mountains and fresh air. Cooler than Kamloops. Under new ownership. Family run and super helpful and keen. Older building so a few quirks but great nature vibe.
- Esther (8/5): - Prima
- Christine (2/5): - Our experience was the resort was not ready to have guests. The heater in our room was broken and stuck on high. We couldn't turn it down or open the windows which had been painted shut. After a 14 hour drive to the resort we were exhausted and could not sleep in such a hot room. We found out the water was not drinkable and had to replace the water container in the hallway in order to get water. The next night we were moved to a different room that had no towels, no LIGHTBULBS and no hairdryer. We had to walk back and forth between rooms to have a shower. We asked for a refund on the room and all we were offered was a free meal and a free stay another time. We had booked the resort for a relaxing weekend and it was anything but. The staff were very friendly and nice but when you are charging 200$ a night you should be ready for guests.
- Gordon (8/5): - Still recovering from forest fire shutdown. Patience required but staff did everything possible to accommodate our needs. Beautiful peaceful setting : )
- Jeff (10/5): - Jason has been super accommodating and friendly, the kids loved the games room, and our cabin is quaint and peaceful on the lake.
- Peter (10/5): - Beautiful property and views and felt very safe. It’s a bit out of the way but it’s a nice hotel and staff are very friendly
- asiatraveller1969 (8/5): Fun fishing day with my daughters! - We showed up and were provided with a boat and fishing rods for a fun fishing day. This was our first time fishing together. The staff were friendly and made sure our visit was enjoyable. We finished with a late lunch. Really good food.
I used to go here as a kid and wanted my daughters to experience this place too. I’m glad we went. Maybe next time we will stay overnight at the hotel. My daughters played in the games room before and after lunch. Nice setup for families,
- Simon (2/5): - The rooms weren’t ready when we arrived. As a matter of fact, there were no one to check us in for the whole first hour except a maintenance guy to help us out. It’s was 28 degrees cecius on that day but the heat was still on for the entire night. No one was available during the night to help! My friends and me could not get any sleep for the entire night!
- kateCA (10/5): Great Experience - Didn’t stay here but we were in desperate need of ice cream. The fellow at the desk opened the dining room for us! Great customer service. We had no change. For a tip. He was very enthusiastic about reopening and described all of the activities available nearby
- Lawrence (8/5): - We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the property adjacent to the lake. It was roomy and clean. The hosts are amazing. The condition of the cabin was not perfect but they are older cabins. The beds were very comfortable. The lobby is quite nice and the breakfast at the restaurant was good. I understand this property just recently reopened and the owners are doing a great job brining it back to its former self.
- Carol (10/5): - A great place for peace and tranquillity!
- Philip (6/5): - Rustic feel, just like when we where young exploring the resort and camp grounds. The compound just needs the missing attention to bring it back to some of the former
glory.
- Matej (10/5): - Very nice area, beautiful views, friendly staff and incredibly quiet at night. Building is a bit old but very clean. Highly recommended if you want an escape from civilization.
- marciosantosrj (2/5): Disappointed - Unfortunately I got disappointed but this hotel. A couple of friends enjoyed to stay there even not being a new hotel. The place is really old and had an appearance to be more family like. There are two lakes and i think I would like a lot to stay in there. However, when I arrived there was no one in the hotel! It seems that no one goes the for so long even to clean up the main lobby and to make the overall maintenance. As it was getting late, I had to drive to Kamloops downtown and find a hotel to stay in there.
- MinxiiT (6/5): ☆ Sleep, Eat and Get Outdoors ☆ - The accommodation itself is a bit old and tired looking but I mean the reality is it's enough to put your head down comfortably, rest and revive for a day of exploring or driving out to your next destination. We booked specifically because it's nature based. We saw many geese, little birds, chipmunks, deer and even nesting eagles. There was a beaver damn built but we didn't get to see the actual beavers.
Food was homely and nothing wow but it filled us up and the staff were wonderful. They could do with updating the dining room and menu.
Our room was upstairs, there's no elevator so please note that if it's something you need. Our room is basic but clean and quiet. We had our own balcony which was looking out over the lake and that was nice.
- Margwoodphotography (2/5): don't accept or book confirmations are being given on this closed resort - Closed..arrived with confirmation from this site, only to drive back and stay at a hotel in the city because this resort has never opened this year. The place was dirty, and had not been clean from the outside for a very long time, peeling paint, overgrown with weeds nobody around
- nikolek2015 (8/5): Rustic warm and friendly - The rooms and cabins are rustic but comfortable. There is onsite dining for breakfast and dinner. The wifi is a little spotty but if you are in the lobby or close to it then it works well. But really, who needs wifi! The lodge is situated on a picturesque lake with good fishing and water activities. The amenities are basic and cleanliness is good considering it is an older building. The best feature is the wonderful staff! The wildlife is also entertaining. There are cute chipmunks, colorful birds and more.
- CHS56 (4/5): Oh dear!!!! - We came here on our tour of Canada booked through and agent. I was completely astounded when I saw the “shed” we were given the key to and immediately turned around and went back to reception. I told the owner we could not stay there but he did offer a room in the main lodge. This was slightly better than the previous room we were given, although a large bright room it sadly lacked in maintenance and care. Unfortunately this place is very worn and tired looking it great need of an upgrade.
We had dinner and breakfast there and these meals were okay not great - homely rather than outstanding.
However that said the owner was extremely friendly and tried hard to please. The surroundings were incredible including the chipmunks on the front porch. The lake was lovely and I am sure there were wonderful birds etc all around.
I am glad we only stayed one night!
- R2002MOsaraha (8/5): Tranquil - This hotel is in a tranquil and picturesque setting right next to the lake. A warm welcome awaits from the staff and the food is freshly cooked and wholesome. That said, the decor is rather dated, the wi fi is spasmodic and maintenance could do with an upgrade. A kettle in the room would also be appreciated.
- cinziam616 (2/5): Embarassing - I hardly ever experienced such a dirty, bad smelling, rotten place : I cannot really believe that it is
well rated in Tripadvisor with such untrue pictures. It is a Shame. The lake is nice but sleeping in such a Room is a nightmare.
- micmac69 (2/5): July 2019 - this place is not worth the money it is very dirty and the linen looks worn. Owner not very friendly. You are better off camping at the provincial camp ground It is a lot cleaner that this so called resort. save your money
