We immediately went to the lobby and requested for 2 queen-beds. Staff did not hesitate and gave us a different room. Very grateful for their understanding. None

• Mikayla (9/5): overall good stay but wouldn't dine there again. - The location was great, the front desk staff was very friendly and the hotel and our room was very clean. We dined at the on site restaurant for dinner our first night, the bartender that was serving the restaurant was very rude and overwhelmed. It looked like she was the only one serving the tables so she was very busy so i tried to be patient and understanding but every encounter with her she was very rude, at the end of our meal i ordered desert to take back to my room, she looked irritated but ran off to get it without asking anyone else at the table if they needed anything else. so when she came back with our desert my friend stopped her before she ran off again and ordered hers and she made a nasty comment "you know i have to make that" and stormed away again. it was very uncomfortable. i was excited about the convenience of having an on site restaurant after our long day at the beach and we were extremely disappointed and uncomfortable.

The only issue was that the toilet could've been cleaner, but outside of that, the entire room seemed like it was clean and no issues. Location is good with two good places (Eureka and Carlsbad Brewing Co) to eat and drink right across the way. Also, Trader Joe's and Sprouts are very close too. Restroom could've used more closer attention to cleaning.

• Rashid (10/5): Perfect for families - Most of the staff were genuinely welcoming and always smiling, which made the experience even better. The kids’ entertainment options were great and kept them happy throughout the stay. The whole property felt fresh, clean, and well-maintained. The rooms would be more convenient with an electric kettle. Also, if you’re planning to visit popular San Diego spots like the zoo, the hotel is a bit far — about a 45-minute drive each way but that is not their fault just heads up.

• Jennifer (7/5): Expensive for the location and experience. - The bed was comfortable. The room had sufficient accommodations. The blackout curtains really are blackout curtains. It’s walking distance to stores and restaurants. GREAT staff. This is a popular destination for soccer teams as there are many soccer tournaments near here. There was a kid playing soccer in the room above us for hours- Saturday night until 1:00 am, and starting again at 7:30 am Sunday morning. We complained, but it continued. Soccer teams should not be in rooms near other guests. Also, there was a bunch of long black hair in the shower when we arrived. It didn’t appear to have been cleaned. And the bathroom floor was dirty.

• John (9/5): On my next business trip, I would definitely come back to Holiday Inn Carlsbad/San Diego IHG. - Parking was plentiful and easy to park close to the entrance. I had a spacious and well-appointed room with a nice king size bed (4 pillows), nightstands on both sides of the bed, a chest of drawers (3 drawers), a comfortable couch that converts into a bed, a desk, a couple of chairs, lots of well-placed light fixtures and a refrigerator. The closet was enormous and came with 8 normal clothes hangers. I enjoyed walking around the very large common courtyard area with lots of options to play outdoor games with friends and children. They had basketball courts, putting green, cornhole toss, archery with safe, soft Velcro arrows, and swimming to name a few. The dining area overlooked the courtyard and offered outdoor dining options. I prepaid for my breakfast, and it was delicious and plentiful. I was offered eggs over easy but declined. Plenty to do and see here in Carlsbad to keep you entertained and active. The hotel was currently being renovated, and was not as inviting with painting and construction, but it was quiet. My room was nice, but I found the floor to be slightly dirty, after noticing my bare feet were dirty when I walked into the shower and found the dirt to be coming off once the feet were rinsed. I would have preferred a shower/tub combo in the bathroom. A printed channel guide for the TV networks would have been nice instead of relying on the onscreen guide from the cable provider. My bed was comfortable but found it hard to fall asleep when away from home.

We asked for more towels out in the pool and they came right away and took care of us. Everything was nice and clean . Big shout out to the housekeeping crew they do a amazing job , thank u!

Did not use any of the other amenities because we were out and about most of the time. A/C made noise all night but kept room cool. The plug in the bathroom didnt work, so I had to dry my hair in the room without a mirror. The shower whistled while on (but we liked the pressure, so this is a small thing). Kids very, very noisy in the lobby and they would run up and down the hallway of the third floor where our room was located. Must have been a pre-teen convention going on somewhere.

We arrived 3 hours early and got a room which was an unexpected bonus. Within 5-10 min walk of restaurants, Trader Joes etc. Handy to Legoland (10 min car ride). Handy to the suites next next door where we had family staying. Breakfast was fine but not great for the price. We would have preferred a full self-service set up.

Had a great stay. - I had a heated pool and hot tub and games That there was a parking lot refinishing going on but it was just a minor inconvenience and I don’t care about that. They had signs that helped get to the lobby. Some kids were playing loud at the pool but they all stopped once the pool closing hours. Very minor inconvenience. Still had a peaceful stay.

• Tamara (9/5): Things happen so we don’t really blame them it was just inconvenient . - It was quiet on the weekend as it looks to be in a business park area . Not walking distance to things like a bagel shop or other type of restaurants . But still ok. We had a toilet issue and just before we had to leave for a function we were told we needed to change rooms . The staff was very friendly and nice tho and moved our stuff for us after we repacked as we had to leave before we could move it and they found a room close to the one we originally had .

I travel a lot for business and pleasure. I spent a week at this hotel, and the personalized service, variety, and quality of the breakfast every single day were exceptional. I forgot several pieces of clothing in the closet, and Manager Christopher Long assisted me immediately. I received everything back at home with no charge. This was the cherry on top of my already great experience. I will definitely stay there again. The customer service is classy and personalized.

• Rodrigo (9/5): Very pleasant, staff was generally kind, and it was very clean. - Breakfast was well served, and had a good variety. The amenities were well kept and clean. The staff was mostly friendly and kind, and the cleanliness of the hotel was very much appreciated. One staff member was very rude to my family when we were trying to socialize in the restaurant area after the restaurant had closed. The area was not closed off, but she wouldn't allow us to move chairs so we could talk out of the way of the lobby or halls. There were other guests in the restaurant area, but because we didn't order she was very rude and didn't ask us if we wanted anything either.
