- Stacy A (6/5): - We stayed in the 2 bedroom condo unit with our teenage son. The room was spacious and pretty clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were a few issues. The oven didn't work and there was no microwave so I wouldn't plan on cooking any meals. Luckily there are plenty of restaurants with excellent food nearby. The breakfast every day was ok. It was scrambled eggs, some fruit, a piece of whole wheat toast, and coffee. There were no other options and for picky eaters or people with food intolerances, there was no variety so we ended up eating out alot. Also, it was slow so you need to leave at least 30 minutes if you have an excursion you are going on at a certain time. In the room, there were plenty of towels, shampoo, etc and robes which was nice. Unfortunately we had no hot water for any of our showers. One day we had no water at all and had to get help to get the water going. There are alot of mosquitoes so bring bug spray to not get bitten while sleeping. The location was on a block that wasn't very nice. It was very loud at night and we needed ear plugs. 2 blocks away there were lots of shops and restaurants which was great. It was a $20 taxi to the beach.The price of the hotel is excellent, but next time I might want to pay more for an upgraded hotel.

Other reviews of people disturbed by a bike horn - well like many things in Mexico this was actually quite charming.. There are many streetsellers.Some use megaphones or call out.the horn is a guy on a bike sells fresh sweet rolls. Delicious! Happy to wave him down at end of trip.Like 6 pesos a roll.Wish We knew sooner! Hit by hurricaine was a complication- electricity out, no alcohol sales and most businesses shut the next day unless they had generator. Clean up inTulum and at hotel.. Prepped with water to drink and flush toilet and candles and matches. Original expediabooking we got a shuttle to and from the airport. I cancelled it when our flight time changed.Our hotel gotus a ride to Tulum,and thought nothing of cancelled shuttle. At end of trip before hurricaine, our concierge, Jesus, booked us a cab for 7AM to Cancun - hurricaine roared in, electricity out and last day was chaotic with limited services in town. We were reassured that cab to Cancun was scheduled. At 5AM on departure day in total darkness their was a honking out front. Guy said my name and only spoke Spanish- we took this ride and it turned out to be cancelled shuttle service, not cab Jesus got! Feel bad that Jesus thinks we ditched- we were responsible for the taxi fee we did not use. Hope expedia looks into our cancellation and makes it right for Geminis!

You will hear noises from the glass shop next door, dogs barking and music being played late into the night. The hotel can not control these problems. Staff were super friendly and helpful. They do offer free bike rental. The bikes are not in the best shape but they are free to use. Our unit we rented was a two bedroom with lots of room for us during our stay. As Tulum grows and there are more hotel or private units to rent. This property's value will be too expensive.

I stayed on the bottom level of the hotel in the "Klimt King Studio w/Outdoor Tub". The room was very open and inviting and the outdoor tub was wonderful (and huge). The free breakfast was wonderfully prepared and the free bicycles really cut costs on transportation around Tulum! I also had the beautiful pool all to myself each day at the hotel. Villas Geminis is literally a block away from the center of Tulum, where you can find shops, restaurants, bars, as well as local conveniences such as banks, gas stations, and convenient stores. The rooms are affordable and provided all the necessary amenities one would need! Book with Villas Geminis Hotel...you won't regret it!

Juan even offered his taxi services at an excellent price. Breakfast was delicious and the location is awesome right near the main shopping strip in downtown Tulum. One of the best perks are the bicycles that they let you rent for free to explore the town. I would definitely stay here again! 👍

The pool was very nice with shade open until 11pm for night swimming. It’s very close to downtown. Walking distance to shopping and great restaurants. The top floor condo got a little too hot since it’s on the top floor with direct sunlight. A little difficult to get to with luggage but there was someone who helped carry it up the steps. Love the condo. Would definitely stay again. Would not recommend penthouse in the middle of June.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location in downtown Tulum. Not a beach-front hotel, rather a small hotel, with superb personalized attention by a well trained 5-member team. Amenities include a pool, breakfast bar, hammocks in the patio, bicycles, concierge, and caring attention by the staff. Do borrow the bike to get to the Archeological site located within a couple of miles from the hotel. Public transit at the door will take the guests to the beach for just 20 pesos (US$1). Good restaurants, live entertainment and shopping within walking distance on safe streets. The two concierge will help you book your tropical adventure: hikes in the jungle to see the spider and holler monkies, ride the zipline, eat lunch with a Mayan family, or dive in the Cenotes or in the reefs. Trust their advice about currency exchange, dinning suggestions, and where to buy cosmetics made with natural ingredients. I can't recommend this beautiful boutique hotel and its amazing hosts enough. My new home away from home.

There are two doors, the biggest door is the main enternece and has a door bell. Breakfast was amazing everyday. Breakfast consists of fruits, yogurt, sweet bread, coffee, different flavored water offered daily, and different style of eggs. Villa is close to everything! Also, they have a large water container in your room. We brought a large water bottle to the trip and filled it up daily. I was offered a crib for my toddler which is nice. I would definitely stay again and plan on it!

The lady at the reception was amazingly accommodating by addressing every one of our needs including the fix of the headhower for stronger water flow and offering to change the room. The beach is not so close to hotel it is a 5 to 8 min drive at 100 pesos which is 6-8 dollars per cab each ride. By bike is about 20-30 minutes depending how fast you ride.They hotel gives you a coupon for another beach hotel if you spend 25 dollars at this hotel you can use their chairs. You can also choose to spend at any rest/ hotel by the public beach and they let you sit. Breakfast however, should include more potato they give 5 tiny squares if there is potato. with eggs and bread and a bowl of fruits plus coffee,. tea, sweet bread, yogurt, cereal

Only downside is that we had to use the same towels they gave us for the beach and pool for your 3 day stay. If you are completely vegetarian the breakfast they provide won’t prob fill you but maybe hold you up till you can go somewhere.

I particularly liked all the extras they provided free of charge - beach towels in a large bag, water, and even bikes! The only thing we were missing was a sunny place for sunbathing as almost the entire patio is in the shades. And we would have liked longer breakfast hours (currently 8 - 10), but this is just a minor point.

Love yogart and fruit. No complaints other than the noise very early in the AM as there is a lot of building going on around there and it is somewhat in a commercial area.
- Char (10/5): Nice condo hotel in town of tulum. - Villas Geminis is great for large families. We had 3 adults and 2 children and had tons of room. It is cozy and has a nice pool. You can also walk to center of tulum where there are lots of good restaurants. Literally 2 blocks away. Breakfast was delicious and convenient before a day of adventure. Bikes available to ride to beach like 10 minutes away.

I was overall concerned with the cleanliness of my room, but it wasn't awful.
- kurt (10/5): Nice quiet and relaxing boutique hotel, Tulum - The room was large, clean and comfortable. The Monet Studio came with a full kitchen for our convenience. Has a nice cool A/C and two ceiling fans to keep the room comfortable even when the weather was very hot. The staff were amazing - from the tasty simple breakfast they prepared daily, keeping our rooms and the central garden impeccably clean at all times, or by helping us arrange transportation for and give tips on excursions. Location is great and in safe walking distance to anything in Tulum pueblo and clise to bus lines and collectivos if wanted. Would definately stay again.
- Sivan (8/5): Great Hotel and Staff! - We stayed here for a week in the Matisse room, which has a tub on the balcony. It was really comfortable and very clean. We cooked food some nights, which was nice. Air conditioner works great. WiFi was a little spotty but fine. Our room was cleaned daily, and Carmen at the front desk was really nice and helpful. They have lots of free bicycles to ride around town or to the beach. It's nearly a 2 mile ride to the public beach, but there's a really nice bike path the whole way so it's an easy ride. We ate at a lot of the hotel's recommended restaurants and we're super happy with all of them. This hotel is a great choice if you want to be near town, where food is much cheaper, but want to be a quick bike or taxi ride to the beach.

- Verified traveler (10/5): little Oasis in the heart of town - great place to stay in Tulum, a nice little oasis right in town. The breakfast alone was worth the price--fresh fruits every morning! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only drawback, if I have to think of one (and not the fault of the hotel) are the trucks parked out on the street that rev up their engines very early in the morning. But no big deal, I just go back to sleep after they leave.

The check in was a bit like a border crossing, though we were in at 7:45pm and the posted desk close was 8pm. Maybe it's their communication with hotels.com??, so it did feel a little stuffy and distant. That and the fact it was not on the same participation scale with hotels.com where I could use points. Overall a great little place.

- Ravi (10/5): Nice and homely place to stay, Very safe-big door - This place is nice and a homely atmosphere. The front desk person Ms Karmen is very helpful and nice. She gave us all the info needed around the place to see. She recommended Grand Cenote-which is a must to see and swim there (fresh water very beautiful place) at Thulum. She recommended a taxi driver with name : Jorge Javier with taxi # 661 and his cell: 984 186 2430. This guy was amazing and did extraordinary help to us. One whole day the Taxi driver Jorge took us around Thulum many places that you won't believe and around 6 PM he took us back to Cancun which is ~ 170 miles. On the way to Cancun he stopped at Playa Del Carmen and gave us 1 hr to see around the 5th street. We really enjoyed this hotel at Thulum and anyone need help for taxi call this person Jorge Javier at Thulum or even he can pick up from Cancun airport to Thulum. He charged us very low price. I think I US $ is 17.50 Pesos. In fact he stopped at few places to buy us coffee and won't take our money. Such a friendly person to go around with him.

- Kim (10/5): Beautiful hotel in Tulum - We had a wonderful stay at Villas Geminis. The Degas Penthouse was beautiful and spacious with a nice terrace. The bed was very comfortable and the espresso machine was a huge plus. It also had a full kitchen. The location was convenient in Tulum town with many nice restaurants and bars within walking distance, and there were bikes available to get to the beach. Easily one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I would love to go back next time I'm in Tulum!
