Guest Reviews
- Guy (9/5): Ideal location, great hosts -
- Axel Starviking (10/5): A Quiet and Cosy Haven - The room was clean and comfortable, lots of attention to detail. The kitchenette had everything we needed. Bathroom was neat and tidy. The only challenge is that the driveway is a hairpin bend backwards off a busy road - and the steep angle of the driveway. We managed to work a way around turning our vehicle, and this was not a negative experience for us - just something to be aware of.
- Myriam (1/5): -
- Gainsford (7/5): Comfortable stay. - Overall the room was very good. It was a small room and small bathroom but well set out. Bathroom was very clean and beds very comfy. Microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and bar fridge were very handy. I felt very safe as a female staying on my own. The bedroom area appeared very dusty for some reason but with a good vacuum around and under beds would quickly sort it out. Driveway very steep and uneven in places. The driveway is a real challenge but fine once you work out how to get in and out. Not for a larger size vehicle or inexperienced reverse's. A bit of traffic noise.
- Daniel (9/5): Nice and convenient location near the Hunters Hill / Lane Cove area. - The accommodation was cosy and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They even offered to give me a lift to where I needed to go during the day. The room contains a small ensuite, a large king sized (or twin single) beds, a/c and TV. It's small but comfortable. Just a heads up to other travelers, the driveway to Linley house is quite steep so coming up and down can be a bit tricky. Caution is required when coming in and out of the property by car.
- Paul (8/5): - close to venue, comfy bed road noise, small room, steep driveway
- Debra (9/5): - Perfect location for us. Helen is a lovely host. The room was very tidy and clean with all you need. The bed is super comfy. Yes it is a very steep driveway but all apart of the š
- Smurphette222 (10/5): Pleasantly surprised. - Extremly comfortable bed, nice hot shower, lovely hosts, nice quiet room (could barely hear the traffic despite being on a main road) cute little garden to sit and have coffee in the mornings. Accurate photos on listing. Would definitely stay again. Driveway can be a bit tricky to navigate, especially if you have a big car, but there is alternate parking available.
- Margaret (10/5): It met our needs perfectly. Very grateful - Simple, clean, safe, friendly, helpful. Met all our needs. Hosts couldn't be more helpful without being intrusive. Room is small, a rain proof outside area would have helped. Driveway is very steep, but not slippery
- Paul (9/5): -
- Batong (8/5): -
- Cristel (10/5): - loved my short but sweet stay at Linley House, the room was comfortable and had everything I needed, Helen was super helpful and even gifted me an umbrella because it was raining! highly recommend
- Lachlan (10/5): Would stay again. - Helen was an excellent and welcoming host. Experience was top notch.
- David (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - Helen & Chris were were wonderful! Very helpful & friendly. Even helped us set up our GPS in our rental car too! Went above & beyond! Bed was very comfortable. Garden view was very pretty. Nice table & chairs outside to eat meals if desired. Entire property well landscaped & pretty. Would recommend. No negatives for us!
- Angela (10/5): Private little sanctuary. - Very clean. Excellent communication. Peaceful setting. Steep driveway, but not that big of a concern.
- Eiji (10/5): -
- Neil (10/5): Felt that the hosts were really interested in their visitors and would recommend this stay to anyone - Helen & Chris were the ultimate hosts and the provided a welcoming premises with top service.
- Asha (7/5): - Convenient to hospital
- Richard (8/5): Great value - book with confidence (once you turn into the driveway, don't stop and keep going!!) - Great location, nice people and great value. At the price, nothing.
- Megan (9/5): Was very comfy for needs - Hospitality great Nil
- Clay (7/5): -
- Gordon (5/5): - Location is good for the area. Helen was extremely welcoming and provided a good briefing on the facility. Very handy to Hunters Hill in particular. Very, very steep driveway which requires experience and a great deal of caution to navigate safely.
- Angelyn (7/5): Perfect for tourists who are out all day and just go back to sleep or rest. - The location is really good and it's so close to the water too. I chose this because it was close to where my brother moved to. I would've liked to have met the owners and stayed for a longer period.
I liked the space it had and the layout of the room. The room and bathroom were very clean, and that's a massive plus for me. The owners had tea and coffee, and a small table with a couple of chairs available in the room too. It was complete with an ironing board, iron, a kettle, a microwave, a small closet space with cubby holes, and a hairdryer. I have asthma, and the compressor of the AC was right smack in the garden. Even my brother who visited for a couple of hours began to itch and had some rashes. So I had to turn off the A/C before sleeping just so I don't have an asthma attack overnight. My only "window" was the security door and the screen door, which was also in front of the garden. Had I realised that this was the case, I would have asked for a different room, if they had one available.

- Robert (8/5): Cosy, convenient city stay. - Conveniently close to family and easy ferry trip to the city. Quality linen and towels, beautifully appointed. Coffee machine and chocolates were a lovely touch. Cosy, with everything we needed. A bit tricky accessing the appliances. And yes, the driveway is steep, but can be safely negotiated with care and advice from Helen.
- Barbara (8/5): Charming cottage feel in big city - The host Chris and Helen are exceptionally kind. I left my cell phone in a nearby restaurant and they drove me there to retrieve it. The room is well appointed and I thought decorative was homey and charming. Loved the garden. Thereās a great little walk in a reserve nearby that I did every morning down near the water. The steep driveway was a huge challenge for me as Iād recently hurt my knee. They had a cable along the cliff I used when going up and down. Cutting stairs into that side might help. Driving up and down looked challenging. Luckily I didnāt have to do that. I wish there was a breakfast option as itās a long walk to shops. There is a bus stop outside which helped.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great weekend - Location was perfect. It had a lovely little outdoor garden where you could relax.
- Vivienne (8/5): - Great location. Lovely outlook from the room, really is a garden view Looking out onto the garden was very peaceful.
- Oakey (9/5): -
- Rosa (7/5): - Quiet.. Outdoor seating and garden Cobwebs in room.. Driveway very steep.
- Norsa (7/5): Bed was extremely comfortable which is the main issue and whilst the look of the room isnāt a huge deal it does make a d - It was close to our event and good value It needs a revamp. Furniture is old and outdated and the room smelt very musty
- Cynthia (8/5): Good value, great location. - Was great for what I needed, overnight in Sydney on business, great value!
Driveway a little steep but not a major problem. I would definitely recommend.
Private own bathroom, great location for what I needed. I can't really complain at all.

- Anne (8/5): Great location and a very comfortable stay. - The accommodation was very well located for our needs this visit to Sydney. Close to water and restaurants and not far from our family event. Off street parking was appreciated although driveway a little steep and tricky.. Helen made herself known to us and was very hospitable. Appreciated clean towels on 2nd day...

- Andrew (8/5): -
- Luke De Oglou (8/5): -
- Bate (9/5): -
- Ashleigh (10/5): - Nice location, friendly owners, good facilities
- Judith (8/5): Linley House stay delightful - The garden room at this house hotel is delightful. Tidy, well appointed with everything you need for an overnight stay.
The only challenge is the very steep driveway. I elected to park the car across the way in a public parking rather than attempt the road. They offer in street parking in a street behind. Also located on the very busy main thoroughfare in Lane Cove.
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Jon (9/5): Lovely location, would stay again. - Chris was an excellent host. Kindly offering help with luggage and shopping when we found ourselves unexpectedly without our car. Very comfortable bed and good attention to detail in facilities provided.
- Ngarie (10/5): - Had everything we needed. Hosts were so friendly The super steep driveway! (But not a deal breaker)
- Wendy (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Ross (8/5): Comfortable stay close to sonās place for a family visit. Would stay again. - Comfortable bed, great shower, tea/ coffee provided. Good communication with host. Steep driveway but other options provided by host.
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (7/5): Hidden Gem - Proximity to Gladesville and Hunters Hill. Parking is offsite.
- Rob (9/5): Well located.Extremley friendly & helpful hosts - Small & cute
- Serena (9/5): Hosts and property exceptional - The property was comfortable and clean.
- Kerri (7/5): Good -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Rob (1/5): Bad - Nothing Access to the venue is completely unsuitable for elderly people and/or those with mobility issue. Because it was wet and slippery I could not get our car up the driveway. To receive news of the access issues after the free cancellation period expired is very unprofessional. These comments are supported by the fact that my wife slipped on the path/driveway and the resulting injuries necessitated a visit a Hospital Emergency Department.
- Wendy (10/5): Sydney family gathering - Great location and the hosts were fantastic . The room and facilities are lovely and perfect for catching up with family nearby. Nothing
- Gemma (10/5): Convenient location, friendly, helpful and highly functional host- Chris was very lovely and made sure we had all the in - Perfect location - 2 minute drive to Hunters Hill private
The complimentary biscuits were delicious š
- Karin (6/5): - The room was pleasant and comfortable and my needs met. Initial issues with check-in but sorted. Access to property not the easiest but on site-parking possible. Convenient location for my needs.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- MargaretA (8/5): - It was convenient access to my sister's place in Hunters Hill. Owners were welcoming & pleasant.
- Rebecca (10/5): Lovely house - My partner and I really loved this accommodation. It was so pretty. It was very comfortable & clean. I forgot to take photos, sorry. We will definitely stay here again. The directions we were lost. Owners need to mention the directions in the confirmation email. We drove around & around for half an hour.
It's on the Burns Bay Rd highway up a very, very steep driveway, so take care...

- Hejingyang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (9/5): Fabulous stay - Our garden room was beautifully appointed with a private sitting area among the flowering bushes. Everything was supplied, even a Nespresso machine! Our host, Helen, was super friendly and helpful. She directed us to a great Indian /Nepalese Restaurant within walking distance at Hunters Hill. We had a table overlooking the river with gorgeous views. We're not used to city road noises but you can't avoid that in Sydney!
- Edward (6/5): As expected. - n/a Finding the place
- Riaan (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Excellent - Tucked away but really accessible to the city.
It was clean and had r to need. The bed was comfortable and the hosts were lovely.
- Adrian (8/5): Cosy, comfortable and compact. Love it! - A cosy retreat. I always like staying at Linley House. You just have to get used to the offsite parking. I know it now so it is okay.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Berend (5/5): The room was clean and tidy, but personal contact was lacking - The location was suitable for our requirements, because we wanted to be close to friends, who live in the area. The lack of personal contact with the Owners. I announced our arrival to Chris at their front door. After that initial contact, we never saw anyone during our stay. When I enquired from Chris about breakfast times, he informed me "We dont serve breakfast anymore." This was quite inconvenient, as we were under the impression that breakfast was included (see many reviews) and the nearest place to purchase food was a rather difficult walk away from Linley House. Also, when I enquired about when I should settle the bill, I was informed the money had already been transferred out of my account, without my authorisation!
- Suzanne (8/5): Lovely, private, relaxing, clean & convenient to nearby shops and parks - Was lovely and very private . Directions to get there were very good and the room was very well equipped. My partner and myself enjoyed our one night stay very much. We had a stink bug on the flowers in the room but we released until V
- Harry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamara (10/5): Cosy, comfortable, convenient. - Great communication from host, well appointed room, very cosy and comfortable. Very close to Royal North Shore hospital, so very convenient. Nearby to the water, would have loved more time to explore. My husband felt the space was quite small, but if you are only sleeping there or spending small amount of time there, it isnāt a problem.
