• Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay, family friendly - The place was great to stay at. The food was good, and the service was very good. the room was not air conditioned and was very hot. The windows did not have fly screens so we weren't able to leave them open which would have helped. The beds did have mosquito nets, but again we couldn't leave the room windows open.

• Nicholas (10/5): Great stay at Indigo - classy spot in the East…. - Lovely boutique hotel in the beach - great pool - fantastic friendly attentive staff. Me and my son stayed in an economy room garden view - all good - comfy bed - mosquito net - even turndown service before bed - nice touch. Beach is fantastic - can hire local boat out to reef for nice snorkelling - walk 30 - 40 min on beach into Paje kitesurfing central and restaurants, drinking spots abound. There are some other hotels nearby on beach slightly north - can walk to for dinner - but we advise ensure walking back in the light. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thx
• Alex (8/5): - Amazing staff, great food. Our bungalow room wasn’t ready from night one due to maintenance however the alternative room was okay. We were surprised by a lovely massage and complimentary romantic dinner which definitely made up for it. Good times, good people. Hakuna Matata!

A pleasant breakfast buffet, limited menu's for lunch and dinner. Beds were comfortable, the fans running a must as so little breeze made it to the room. No AC. Came in better than anticipated
• Muchafara (4/5): No A/C & Exterior Toilet Under the Stars! - Unfortunately we could not spend a night here. A very nice spot; Scenic, quiet, clean and peaceful, however there is no A/C in super hot and humid Zanzibar! The toilet is located in an adjoining indoor/outdoor area with no roof/ceiling. This is an important factor to let people know. My child told me they'd not go to the bathroom at night. When we started debating what time to stop the drinks, we decided it was not worth the stay. There was also a gap between our bedroom and the bathroom area (that has no roof) so our room was full of mosquitoes! No A/C, you've got to keep the windows open for the breeze...They did have mosquito nets, but they had holes. They tried to tie them up but...Pool was also greenish. Sadly, we could not spend the night. The staff was lovely. A shame because the potential is there.

• Jacobvisits (10/5): New years eve with my wife from Finland - Young Manager Shingai was very helpful and super kind to us, we had a situation with booking.com and our rooms were not booked but he handled our situation and made a last minute room available for us. Shingai thank you). Rooms were spacious and clean, we loved the open roof showers on a sunny day. The security was good the masaai kept an eye out. But still beware of the local boys nearby trying to sell you things.

Le staff est adorable. Le petit déjeuner doit être amélioré . Les beach boys sur la plage sont souvent en peu insistants et ils peuvent te suivre jusqu’à la mer pour vendre leur services qui sont apriori plus chers. Rester en calme sur le sun bed sans être dérangé pourrait être un pari difficile ...

The rooms should be freshed up a little bit, especially the bathroom (and the bad AC) but otherwise a very nice resident and the pool area was amazing and so was the staff and their service.

• Stephen (10/5): Honeymoon stay at Indigo - Indigo Beach Hotel was an absolute paradise. The hotel (or it should be called a resort) was amazingly clean and well kept up. The food was absolutely delicious from breakfast, lunch and dinner and the service and hospitality was the best I’ve experience in my last 3 years of global travel. We stayed in one of the beach front villas which felt like being right on the sand in front of the water. The villa was very clean, open and airy, with windows and doors you can open to provide an amazing beach experience. During the day we chose from a number of things to do which included, laying on the beach chairs in front of our villa, going to the pool, walked the beach tie Paje (45 min walk), rented a mo-ped ($25 all day) to cruise up to Rock Restaurant and took a dala dalal (2,000 shilling / per person) to Stone Town for the day. On our last night, they provided a complimentary private honeymoon dinner which was absolutely delicious and the decorations were beautiful. What an amazing stay at Indigo, I would defiantly stay there again! Thank you to the staff for the great food, cleanliness of the property and accommodation and for the hotel Masai for helping us get a cab at 4:30am to the airport after our first cab never showed.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Un petit hôtel paradisiaque - Cet hôtel est un vrai petit nid d'amour. Situé dans un village de pêcheurs, il offre une proximité avec les habitants. L'hôtel est tout simplement magnifique et on passe tout le temps du séjour les pieds dans le sable. Les jardiniers sont aux petits soins, les serveuses et serveurs sont à vos petits soins à tout moment de la journée, les dames du ménage font de la chambre un vrai petit nid (même 2 fois par jour). Maëlle, la gérante est extrêmement accueillante. D'ailleurs, de accueils personnalisés comme ceux-là c'est du jamais vu. La nourriture du restaurant est délicieuse, les cocktails de fruits et les thés glacés aux épices sont succulents. Les petites attentions telles que les petites bouteilles d'eau quotidiennes sont vraiment très appréciables. C'est un hôtel à taille humaine qui allie tradition et modernité pour le bien-être des vacanciers qui cherchent un séjour au calme et dans le respect de l'environnement. Cet hôtel est un pur écrin de bonheur !

Popolo e di conseguenza anche LE strutture condizionate dalla corruzione della vita in quel luogo. Riguardo la direttrice francese spezzo una lancia a suo favore,pur essendo consapevole si è dimostrata molto sensibile e rispettosa. Luogo bellissimo ma con tanta realtà cruda, realtà che dimostra che il loro stato non fa' niente per la loro popolazione e la polizia è in cerca di continuo di rubarti soldi in qualsiasi modo .

• Vanessa (10/5): Paradise Beach - Se cercate un delizioso Resort dove rilassarsi l'Indigo Beach è il posto perfetto per voi! Fantastica struttura situata su una delle più belle spiagge di Zanzibar, l'Indigo Beach Resort è il luogo ideale per trascorrere delle vacanze tranquille e indimenticabili. Abbiamo soggiornato presso questa struttura per 10 notti, l'accoglienza e il calore di tutto il personale è decisamente ottimo. Nonostante avessimo prenotato una stanza nella Garden House, abbiamo ricevuto un upgrade gratuito e ci è stata assegnata una Villetta vista mare. Assolutamente fantastico aprire la porta della vostra abitazione e vedere l'oceano. Bwejuu inoltre è un villaggio delizioso, con la tipica spiaggia bianca. I Masai ci hanno aiutato con i bagagli sia all'arrivo che alla partenza (alle 2 di notte) e siamo stati seguiti e aiutati per le escursioni e i taxi durante tutto il nostro soggiorno. Cibo ottimo. Pulizia impeccabile, le ragazze vengono a fare la camera ben due volte al giorno. Soggiorno da favola. Un caloroso GRAZIE a tutto lo staff che ha contribuito a rendere la nostra vacanza indimenticabile.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Bad hotel - Small rooms, bad service and bad food. I was there in the summer. There is no air conditioning and no refrigerator. Food was expensive and really bad.
• Gia (6/5): Schön aber zu ruhig - Wir waren acht Tage im Indigo Beach. Für uns vier Tage zu lang. Es ist ansich eine sehr schöne Anlage mit einem schönen Essensbereich und Pool. Leider ist es dort viel zu ruhig. Wir dachten, dass wir wenigstens am Strand ein paar Restaurants oder Bars finden würden aber es gab nichts weit und breit. Die Managerin sagte uns, dass 10 Minuten in eine Richtung etwas kommen würde aber wenn man die Anlage verlässt, wird man sofort von den Beach Boys belagert die einem etwas verkaufen wollen und die lassen sich auch nicht abwimmeln. Man hat keine ruhige Minute auch nicht wenn man im Meer baden geht und anschließend wieder zurück will. Dann warten schon die Kinder die Süßigkeiten oder Stifte haben wollen. Auf Dauer es das ganz schön anstrengend. Man kann für ein paar Dollar mit dem Taxi nach Paje fahren und der Fahrer holt einen auch wieder ab. Dort ist etwas mehr los und man kann z.B. auch Kite Surfen gehen. Ebenso kann man vom Resort aus verschiedene Ausflüge machen die aber nicht so günstig sind. Zu den Zimmern - wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Gartenblick oben. Diese Zimmer sind sehr klein und man hat gar keinen Platz für die Koffer. Die Zimmer mit Gartenblick unten sind viel geräumiger weil es zwei Zimmer sind für den gleichen Preis. Das war natürlich schon etwas deprimierend. Alles in allem war es aber nicht schlecht, das Essen war gut und das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Einziges richtiges Problem war, dass es nirgends Klimaanlagen gab, nur den Ventilator und das hält man kaum aus.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Schönes, ruhiges Hotel direkt am Strand - Wir sind sehr nett mit einem Begrüßungsgetränk empfangen worden. Das Standard-Doppelzimmer ist recht klein, aber das Bett war bequem und das Zimmer war sauber. Einzig der Abflussgeruch tagsüber im Bad war etwas störend. Allerdings wurde hier am Abend eine Räucherkerze angezündet, welche den Geruch verdrängt hat. Das Frühstück war gut und vielfältig. Im Restaurant konnte man gut essen, allerdings war die Auswahl in der Regel auf zwei Gerichte beschränkt und die Preise waren nur USD und nicht in der lokalen Währung angegeben, was wir schade fanden. Das Personal war zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Der Pool war ebenfalls sauber und man hatte einen tollen Blick auf das Meer. Ebenso waren die Liegen bequem.
• Matej (8/5): Krásne spoločné priestory hotela - Izby v Garden House nie sú príliš atraktívne, ale pláž, na ktorej ste takmer celý čas sami, krásne sedenie pri bazéne a bazén samotný, či reštaurácia a pekné rastliny a palmy sú to čo robí tento hotel výnimočným. Ak netrávite veľa času an izbe tak je to ideálny hotel.

• Rune (10/5): Ett lugnt hotell med mycket bra service - Hotellet var mycket lugnt och trevligt. Bra personal. Frukosten var mycket bra. Grattis kaffe och the under dagen. Restaurangen serverade mycket god mat (hummertallrik för 10 dollar). Gott att kunna slänga av sig skorna och går barfota hela tiden. Härliga promenader utmed stranden.

• Olav (8/5): Rent og stille hotell! - Veldig hyggelig og koselig sted. Veldig bra velkomst! Litt kjedelig med tidevannet i september, var veldig langgrunt på dagen. Vakter på stranda gjorde det trygt å la ting ligge igjen når vi ville bade. Noen selgere, men de var lette å avvise om vi ikke ville ha noe.

• BOJAN (10/5): Great hotel - Fantastic hotel in Bewjuu. Villas look great but we stayed in building only with rooms. Rooms are very basic, but clean, and comfortable bed. Wifi worked in pool and breakfast area, but did not work in our room witch was not problem for us. The hotel changed the manager week before us and service could be better...you could see the manager was just temporary there...we asked for room upgrade and could not get it, but there was other free rooms and villas empty... There is nothing around hotel, and you need to take taxi for everything. Paje beach is 30 minutes walk, but you need to walk there early in the morning, later is too hot to walk there. On Paje beach are few bars and restaurants.
• Dorthe bernadette (8/5): Sol, varme og afslapning - Et lille hyggeligt hotel i et stille område med god service, betjening og rengøring. Der er Ikke andet at foretage sig, end at slappe af. Dog skal man være opmærksom på, at det pga tidevandet ikke er muligt at bade i havet fra ca kl 9-16 det gælder hele øst siden, og ligeledes ikke muligt for snorkling i området ved hotellet.
• Katharina (10/5): Schönes kleines Hotel direkt am Strand - Wir waren 3 Nächte im Gartenhaus des Indigo Beach untergebracht. Die ganze Anlage ist sehr schön und ansprechend eingerichtet, man braucht keine Schuhe und sowohl am Pool, als auch am Strand sind Sitzsäcke zum Liegen bereitgestellt. Das ganze Personal und die Managerin Lisa waren sehr bemüht und immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr lecker und auch preislich in Ordnung. Ich kann das Hotel jedem empfehlen, der ein paar Tage entspannen möchte.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Lovely but some issues - Lovely location right on the beach. Beach front cottage had beautiful views and gardens although the bed mattress was very hard and the room minimally furnished which meant we couldnt unpack. Also, when its 30 degrees plus the lack of fridge and air con in the rooms was disappointing. The cottage are designed to catch the breezes however this led to a sandstorm blowing in every day. Breakfast was good - pretty good hot and cold selection. However as the restaurant is back from the beach it doesnt get any breeze and has no fans so was too hot to eat there at lunch time. Dinner was over priced for Zanzibar ($20 per person for 3 courses) particularly when a $10 main was pasta and pesto. We tried going out to another hotel for dinner although sadly suffered an attempted mugging walking back on the beach after dark. The hotel was aware that the beach is not safe after sunset but had not informed us. After that we resigned ourselves to dinner at Indigo.

• Jan Kristian (10/5): - We had four fantastic days in a beach front bungalow at Indigo Beach. The manager, Linda, is the perfect hostess, and made sure we had everything we needed, and even booked a safari trip to the main land for us. Good food in the restaurant, great pool area with comfy Fatboys, and a fabulous room. There is no AC as some of the walls are semi-open, but the room was comfortable anyways, with good natural ventilation. Really nice with the outdoor bathroom, although we had to use an umbrella when using the toilet during a rain shower :) We would highly recommend Indigo to anyone going to Bwejuu!
• Anne (10/5): - Utroligt dejligt hotel. Super rent, lige på stranden, dejlig pool. Personalet er oprigtig søde og vilde med børn. Meget roligt område - ikke rigtig andre restauranter eller muligheder for at købe noget. Dog ligger Paje og Jambiani, hvor der er andre restauranter og hoteller, ti minutter væk i taxa. Maden på hotellet var god og rimelig i pris. Jeg kunne dog godt have ønsket mig flere muligheder for seafood og det traditionelle swahili-køkken.

• Kristin (10/5): Villa und Strand wie aus dem Bilderbuch - Sehr schöne Anlage am Strand von Bwejuu. Die ca. 60 qm großen Villen mit Meerblick sind schlicht, aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich die Lounge, im Obergeschoss liegt das Schlafzimmer. Highlight ist das Außenbad, das Duschen unterm Sternenhimmel ermöglicht. Direkt vor der Haustür beginnt der weiße Strand. Bei Ebbe ist der Weg zum (eher kleinen) Pool allerdings kürzer als zum türkisfarbenen Ozean. Ausflüge werden auf Wunsch organisiert. Das Restaurant bietet mittags Snacks und abends Buffet - einzig der Service müsste schneller sein.
• Raphael (10/5): Ein kleines Stück Paradies im Südosten Sansibars - Wir können diese Anlage nur wärmstens empfehlen. Es ist ideal vor allem für denjenigen, die einen stressigen Job haben und abschalten wollen. Buchen Sie am besten eins der geräumigen Häuser direkt am Strand, die diese geschützten Bäder im Freien haben. Tolle Idee! Wir haben dort sogar ein kleines Upgrade für paar Nächte in der Nebensaison bekommen, obwohl wir nur ein einfaches Zimmer gebucht haben. Die Zimmer im älteren Teil sind nämlich etwas eng und haben keinen Meerblick, sind aber dafür billiger! Die franz. Chefin Linda kümmert sich vorzüglich um alles. Die ganze Anlage ist sehr gut gepflegt. Das Essen am Abend/Mittag (Dinner oder Lunch), das man schon am Tage buchen kann, schmeckt sehr gut. Wir empfehlen vor allem eine Schnorchel-Tour in die blaue Lagune, die relativ günstig angeboten wird. In der Nähe der Anlage befindet sich auch "The Rock-Restaurant". Unbedingt guten Taxi-Preis verhandeln! Abends, wenn am Strand die Ebbe herrscht, kann man gut spazieren gehen und Muscheln sammeln. Diejenigen, die abends in der Nähe eine Stadt/Dorf mit vielen Attraktionen erwarten, werden hier nicht auf ihre Kosten kommen. Ruhe, gepflegte Anlage, Strand, gutes Essen, tolle Ausflüge: was braucht man mehr auf dieser Insel? Asante sana! (in suaheli: vielen Dank!)

• Verified traveler (10/5): Wunderschöne kleine Hotelanlage - Wir (4 Erwachsene) hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt auf Sansibar. Die Hotelanlage ist sehr gepflegt, modern und liegt direkt am Strand. Die Managerin Linda und ihr Team waren äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten leckeres Essen zu guten Preisen und auch die Auswahl des Frühstücks war abwechslungsreich. Der Strand direkt vor dem Hotel ist zwar schön, jedoch befindet sich dort relativ viele Algen, was bei Flut aber nicht auffällt. Man kann ca. 1km am Strand Richtung Süden laufen und hat dort dann kristallblaues Wasser. Vom Hotel aus werden Liegemöglichkeiten in einem abgetrennten Bereich angeboten, was sehr angenehm ist. Auch Ausflüge und Taxifahrten konnten über das Hotel gebucht werden. Die Hotelanlage ist unbedingt weiter zu empfehlen und wir würden jeder Zeit gerne wieder zurück kommen!

• Claudia (10/5): Perfekter Ort zum Entspannen / tropischer Traum! - Wir waren 13 Nächte im Indigo Beach zum relaxen - chillen. Alles Bestens! Strand, Hotel, Service, Essen (Haben vor Ort zum Zimmer/Frühstück Halbpension zugebucht: sehr abwechslungsreiches, leckeres 3-Gang Menue, 2x in der Zeit Buffet vom Grill). Managerin, Direktorin Linda, kümmert sich um jeden Gast individuell und aufmerksam. Bekamen gleich bei Ankunft ein kostenloses Zimmer-Upgrade: statt 2 Doppelzimmer ein 2-Zimmer-Garten-Bungalow mit Freiluft Badezimmer. Sehr schön, sauber mit ebenfalls sehr aufmerksamem Service. Hotel hat eigenen Pool als Alternative zum sehr sehr weitläufigen schneeweissen Sandstrand. Die Lage des Hotels ist ca. 1 Stunde vom Airport und Stone-Town an der Ostküste der Insel, problemlos zu erreichen und ausgesprochen ruhig. Ausflugsfahrten (Spice-Tour, Stone Town, Schnorcheltour auf traditionellem Segelboot, Delphin-Touren etc. alles problemlos durch Linda organisiert, machbar. Gerne wieder!
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Das Hotel ist eine kleine, schöne und gepflegte Anlage. Das Personal ist freundlich, zuvorkommend aber nicht aufdringlich. Der perfekte Ort für Ruhesuchende und zum Entspannen. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist ausgezeichnet, beim Menu abends könnte es vielleicht noch etwas mehr Auswahl geben. Jedoch ist das nicht störend weil man abends auch prima in der Umgebung essen gehen kann.
• Olivier/Justine (10/5): Super hôtel - Hôtel parfait pour notre séjour en famille. Les pieds dans le sable, une vue magnifique, un accueil exceptionnel, des repas très bons font de cet endroit le lieu idéal où séjourner à Zanzibar. Après une expérience trop touristique dans le nord de l'île nous avons quitté un hôtel pour retourner à l'indigo y terminer nos vacances. Nous le conseillons absolument !!!
• Martina (10/5): Was für eine Perle am indischen Ozean!! - Wahnsinnig tolles, sauberes, modernes Hotel mit einer sehr netten und aufmerksamen Chefin. Großartiger Pool (Tiefe 1,60m), grandioses Meer vor der Tür (welches man sich lediglich mit ein Paar Kids aus dem Dorf teilt), leckeres Essen zu akzeptablen Preisen. Perfekter Ort zum Abschalten! Bestens geeignet für Pärchenurlaub, aber auch für Familienurlaub oder vor allem auch für Honeymoonreisende! Gratis Fahrräder zum Erkunden der Umgebung. Ich habe jedem von diesem Hotel erzählt und empfehle es uneingeschränkt weiter!
