Guest Reviews
A localização salvou, é bem localizado.
- chirlei (8/5): Vou voltar - Gostei..chuveiro bom..ar condicionado bom...roupas de camas razoável...limpeza do quarto nao veio qndo solicitei...recepção boa e cafe nao dispuseram meu pedido sem glúten pq sou alérgica
- Estuardo (10/5): - Nice place to stay.
- Vicki (6/5): - Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is in an inconvenient location on a small hard to find street near the university. But there is a nice outdoor mall with small tourist shops and a lot of restaurants across the street. Unfortunately, it is hidden from the street, so if you do not know it is there, you could miss it..
Difficult to get to city centre.
- Alina (10/5): - It was clean and quiet. Perfect for 2 days
O quarto é minusculo, o banheiro tambem.
A localização é perfeita, próximo a muita coisa legal, dá pra fazer a pé tranquilamente.
- Alberto (10/5): - Agradable
O quarto cheirava a esgoto, simplesmente deplorável a acomodação.
- Odilson (6/5): - The bathroom had a leak. A mat was not provided. I had to request it twice. The night boy/employee mistreats the guests. Twice he locked me between the locked doors.
- Sergio (4/5): Sólo comento mi experiencia, ojalá mejoren! - 1.
3. El desayuno muy básico
- SUNG HEE (10/5): Excellent room and place - Comfortable room and Convenient location
- esau (10/5): - Muy buena
- Daniele (10/5): Muito boa - Excelente localização e limpeza, as acomodações atenderam muito bem nossas necessidades. A maioria dos funcionários são bem prestativos.
- Sacha b (8/5): - Cama e travesseiro muito bom, corbertas nao tinha, apenas lençóis.
Mal cheiro no quarto.
- Robi (6/5): - Stayed at hotel before and it was good but this time room on ground floor so can’t have light as full length window was on the cafe. Was noisy through the night and Wi-Fi was broken
- richard (10/5): - Excellent location and staff
- Juan (2/5): - Please do yourself a favor and stay off this property!
This was easily the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life. I spent a seven day mandatory quarantine in this hotel and it was a nightmare.
Every item in the room was dirty, old and did not work properly. The water pressure was never right. Heating was non-existent in the middle of the winter. Sheets were yellow. Bedbugs. TV remote didn't work so I had to get up to turn the volume up and down and to turn it off at night. WiFi was incredibly slow and unreliable, I couldn't even order food due to it. Forget video calls, you just won't be able to get any work done.
The staff was incredibly rude and slow, they take advantage of the fact that you're forced to stay in your room to give you the worst treatment ever.
The breakfast you get is insanely unhealthy and small. Rotten fruit, juice from powder, white bread and cheese you can't trust.
No cleaning at all! They only came to pick up trash "once" a day (some days they would just forget). Of course there were flies, ants and all kinds of bugs everywhere.
I could go on and on, but in conclusion, this is just a horrible hotel and they're not doing anything to try and improve.
- Sayang (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and provided good information about restaurants in the area.
- D (10/5): - Nice good location Clean walkable to really everything
Watch foot paths and I twisted my ankle due to dodgy path ways
- Jessie (10/5): - Easy check-in, the room, especially the bathroom, was very clean, staff speaks English, lots of restaurants near by.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stay just one night and it was ok. No cable tv working, odd card key system to open the door, too loud (you can hear everything from outside, from others rooms). Breakfast ok, no eggs thought. Beware that the metro station is close to the hotel, but it's at the other side of the river. Friendly staff, they let us stay at the hotel until we departed to the airport at night.
- Edward (4/5): - Overnight the walls vibrated out of nowhere making a scary sound due to something happening in the streets, either a machine or a heavy truck, happened like 3 times.
The window pointed to an area where hotel guests would loiter so it was often very noisy. I also could hear the receptionists chatting on the phone in the reception from my room, simply annoying.
The breakfast was terrible, no options, coffee as lukewarm, all juices with so much sugar it was unbearable.
The shower would wet the entire bathroom, I don't really recommend the hotel, unless you can get a really cheap price for some reason.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This hotel is well situated for easy access to most of the main tourist sites in Santiago. The communal areas of the hotel (lobby, stair way and breakfast area) were attractive and well maintained - apart from the plastic plants in the breakfast area. However, the bedroom was very tired and dated and badly in need of renovation. The staff were fairly helpful but very strict on the checking in time. Breakfast was limited with fairly basic provisions. Overall, the hotel itself was a bit disappointing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice cozy hotel, very good location near everything especially nice area to eat and go out. Staff is amazing. Only cold breakfast served, could be better, no drinking water for example was available on the buffet. Otherwise the hotel is nice and absolutely great value. Thanks, wishing you many nice guests from Expedia.
- aric k. (8/5): Great location, friendly staff - This small hotel is in a great location for dining and touring about Santiago. It's a short walk to the metro station and many restaurants and bars. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My Spanish is limited so I was thankful they could help me in English as well. There is no elevator (so be prepared), but the front desk clerk (there is always one at the desk, 24 hours) offered to help with the luggage if we needed. They also gave suggestions for things to do and see, and called us a cab to the airport.
The rooms are not overly posh or heavy on amenities, but I thought it was a good value and it's easy for me to recommend this hotel to anyone.
We had a very nice stay.
- Santiago (8/5): Once upon a time - The hotel has the remnants of a once vibrant and reputable hotel. Staff was friendly and courteous. Our room was on the top floor. Bedding and mattress were comfy. Furniture and furnishings were adequate but a few items were broken. The air in the room was stuffy. The air in the bathroom wreaked of mold... there was black mold all over the bathroom. We slept with the windows open and that helped freshen the air. Breakfast was good.
- Nicola (2/5): Disappointing Stay - Initially put in a room with a window directly onto the main breakfast area so had to keep the blind down. Very pokey room. Kindly moved to a different room when we complained. Tried to buy water overnight but told we couldn't put it on our hotel bill as they didn't trust their guests would pay for it which was quite offensive!! So had to pay in cash, but then they had no change at reception. Surely there must be a better system than this for guests?? The next day the breakfast consisted of mouldy oranges, horrible re-sliced bread and fake looking ham. Nothing hot. No cutlery or plates laid out. Inedible breakfast overall, which the receptionist admitted to. We asked for our money back and we were told we had to do it through expedia which is proving very complex.
- Harjeet (6/5): A potential gem gives way to uncomfortable rooms - I booked this on the strength of a glowing Lonely Planet recommendation and certainly from the outside this looks like a gem at a very budget friendly price. However the rooms are small, cell like and spartan and they aren’t designed for rest and relaxation only sleep and shower. At a push that is ok especially if you plan to spend all day out. The problem for us though was the following: toilet stopped flushing and despite notifying the reception at 8am nothing was done all day and when I enquired for the second time was told no one could come until the next morning - which happened to be our checkout day. I insisted on a new room which was granted. This room had shower gels/soaps which the first hadn’t. But the safe was locked. The first room had dodgy AC which wasn’t cooling the very hot room. Seems like attention and housekeeping was a bit slapdash. But I emphasise that the staff were perfectly friendly and cooperative on the whole. I feel that this could be a real gem if there was more attention to maintenance and house keeping and a bit of sprucing up. Location to nearby cafes and bars is great but on balance the discomfort of rooms isn’t compensated by location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location but not quite clean - Location of the hotel is good, in Bellavista area and close to many restaurant and bars.
Although the hotel looks ok at first sight, has some hygenie issues. The cleanliness of the bed was not good, yellow stain on pillows, duvet had colured marks, floor was not clean hair and dust, bathroom sink was blocked-the blockage was fixed by the staff next day.
Also the ambiance of the room was not great, as we were given a room at lower ground which didnt get much sunlight.
- Ozzy (6/5): Good location but not quite clean - Location of the hotel is good, in Bellavista area and close to many restaurant and bars.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location. Hotel has potential. - This hotel is convenient to much of Bellavista. The staff is a bit aloof and could provide better attention to guests. Staff needs to look up from computer and communicate with guests. There were no maps and little tour information. There is no bottled water provided. Also, breakfast is a failure. The meal isn't worth waking up for. Tables are covered with dirty dishes and staff isn't friendly. The place has a lot of potential and would get better ratings if they upgraded the breakfast food and acted more attentively.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent value Santiago hotel in perfect location - Well-decorated hotel, clean and modern. Quiet street at a lively part of Santiago. Best of both worlds. Pleasantly surprised by the value it offered. Room not huge but had everything we needed. Breakfast was pleasant in a lovely setting. Stayed in a terrible hostel in Santiago for not much cheaper than what we paid here. Excellent value for money for Santiago.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Overall nice location and accommodations. Description cited cable TV, but we had an antenna with local (snowy) channels only. Not too critical, but at least adjust the room description accordingly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall very good experience with very helpful staff
- Claire (6/5): Great location but basic cleanliness. - Great location, 2 min walk to 100's of restaurants without being too noisy. San cristobal hill and markets within walking distance. Room cleanliness very average, mix of very helpful and very rude staff.
- Zach (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - The hotel is on a small side street and doesn't really have a great view of anything. But it is within walking distance of almost everything and the staff is very helpful and kind
- Verified traveler (10/5): Location! - Location!
- SeattleTraveler (2/5): Noisy, ants on the wall, & no customer service - This hotel was a DISAPPOINTMENT. The room I booked & paid for with two single beds was not available when I checked it. They offered two single rooms, both on the first floor in areas that would be loud with either lobby or stairway noise. My sister and I decided sharing a room would be easier and choose the larger of the two choices.
Right away we noticed stains on the bedspread & sheets. We asked & housekeeping replaced.
Later when trying to go to sleep we realized we had been given the worst possible room location. Our room shared a wall with the lobby and every time a guest was buzzed into the hotel or someone walked across the floor, or any conversation we could hear it. It a popular, late night neighborhood the noise and coming and goings of other guests were a constant.
After a night of little sleep we get up to enjoy our last day in Chile to discover sugar ANTS crawling up the wall of the bathroom. This was the last straw. We tried to speak with management, but the 3 people staffing the lobby in the morning all claimed to not understand English, despite using it with us the previous day. After using Google translate to express our frustration they said they would consult with the Operations Manager. When we returned later they offered a bottle of wine for the inconveniences, but then said the manager left them no money to buy a bottle and they didn't have one to give out. Why offer if you cannot deliver on the promise? Disappointing.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bellavista lovely area to stay - It was disappointing
Bellavista area is a wonderful place to be and the hotel is ideally positioned
Our room was incredibly cramped! Door of unit beside door to room kept falling in, tiles in shower were really dirty mould grew profusely and they were mean with soap! Only one little bar on offer
We commented to front counter staff about these issues but nothing happened
But for us the worst thing was that we had to leave hotel at 6am to be at airport two hours before an international flight So we booked and payed in advance for a taxi ride
Well no taxi arrived! We were stuck! At 7 am the young man at counter finally after I demanded to speak to someone who spoke English, hailed a taxi to get us to airport. This was after I had been told (wa are both over 70) that we could get out on street and hail a taxi with two big cases and two backpacks. We are both the sort of people who arrive early rather than late and that experience was really upsetting to say the least!
- Verified traveler (2/5): never again - Not a good experience
- paul (6/5): Nice hotel close to Bella Vista Plaza - Good hotel close to central attraction of Bella Vista. Bathrooms leave a little to be desired in terms of maintenance and cleanliness (mould and broken tiles) but other than that this hotel is very nice and clean. Patio seating area is great. I enjoyed my stay and found it comfortable.
- biloerju (10/5): You must stay here! - This place is wonderful.
True boutique place. They will even carry your bags up if you wish.
panini's for breakfast!!! Can also have cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast etc. if you wanted.
clean. Great view of the snow capped Andes from room #11. Quiet area.
Help couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.
- yvonne (6/5): Average - The hotel is average. It is like others have stated, small rooms, the shower had rust and super small, I am small and kept hitting my arms on glass door. The detail to cleanliness in room was not top priority. There were a few stains on bedding cover. The breakfast was below average. No eggs.
On positive note: staff was really great! Samuel was excellent and went extra mile on everything !!! I was really appreciative !!
- Philip (6/5): Not a boutique hotel - Rooms are small but clean. This is not a boutique hotel. Breakfast is basic but adequate and the breakfast room was freezing cold. Staff are helpful to a point but not very friendly. I got the impression I was interrupting their mobile phone checks by asking for anything. Location is good. There is no lift.
- Susan (4/5): DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU WANT A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP - Very noisy inside the hotel. Was woken up at 2, 3, 4, and 5 am with drunk patrons arriving back at hotel and having very loud conversation with the office reception person. Wooden stairs and open stair well added to the noise factor. Breakfast was limited and served in a covered outdoor area (chilly). Rooms very small and bathrooms old and mouldy. Enjoyed the character of the place, staff tried to be helpful however there was no proper manager/owner in sight for the four days of our stay and hotel appeared to be run by office staff who tried to be helpful. Shame, as the hotel is in a great location. Suitable for young party goers.
- christine (10/5): Comfortable, clean boutique hotel - Staff very helpful regarding tourist attractions and recommendations within the city. Walking distance to restuarants, plaza de armas, fish markets, San Cristobel. Not far from metro if needing to travel further. Excellent modern breakfast courtyard with good selection. All day free espresso coffee, teas, juices, cake and fruit. Nice relaxation areas on each floor. Good wifi.
- Paul (8/5): The Tremo was nice and relatively quiet. - The hotel had a simple but most adequate breakfast. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Just around the corner from the hotel was a fantastic restaurant/fast food precinct which catered for all
tastes! I was on the fourth floor. The room was very good but there was no wardrobe. Clothes had to be hung on the
back of the door! Also the hotel wasn't served with any lifts, however the stairs were wide and safe.
- GURMEET SINGH (6/5): - excellent staff, very helpful
the rooms are very small though
- James (8/5): Basically pretty good - The best part about this small hotel is the neighborhood; a short walk to the bustling restaurant and bar area of Barrio Bellavista, in which several top restaurants are located. The hotel is really more like a B&B; you can hear doors closing and there is the breakfast downstairs where people mingle. It is about an eight minute walk to the Metro, and the Metro stop is a hub, which was great. The price was quite reasonable; staff very friendly and helpful. One exception was the day I left, it was rush hour and the Front Desk person couldn't get a taxi, so he called his own special taxi contact person who then repeatedly called back to say he would be late, which didn't work for me at all. I finally went out myself to the street and flagged down a cab. You might keep this in mind when you leave, as this was the most unhelpful part of the stay.
- Willie (10/5): Great Hotel In Incredible Location At Superb Rate - Hotel Bputique Tremo is an excellent option in Santiago, Chile. It is a brand new small boutique hotel located in the Bellavista area of Providencia (one of the hottest and best locations in Santiago). The rooms, while smallish for American standards, were immaculate, bright, comfortable, and perfectly fine. The beds were comfortable and the bedding of the highest quality. Despite being only a block from the action, the hotel rooms were very quiet. The rooms have a nice desk for writing, bureau drawer bit no closets, nice large bathrooms, and a television with very limited English channels.
The breakfast was very modest (bread, cheese-meats, pastries, and juice. While the breakfast (served on a jcie patio) has only instant coffee, the hotel has an expresso machine, juices, brewed coffee and pastries all day long.
The best of the hotel is an incredibly friendly and helpful staff.
The location, as stated, is perfect. Within a few minutes walk to Patio Bellavista, an extremely large number of bars and restaurants, the main Cerro of Santiago, and a subway stop.
Finally, the rate that was available on Trip Advisor ($63.00 per night) was a fantastic nargain.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay - An old house that has been adapted to a nice hotel. Good service, but neighborhood a little rough
- Jose Carlos (8/5): Nice stay in Santiago. - Nice stay in Santiago. The hotel is located very near the Bellavista restaurants, bars, and art zone. The Neruda house and San Cristobal hill is just around the corner.
The overall stay was good. One problem was the parking, as no parking is available, and the streets around doesn't seem a good place to park.
- Chris (10/5): - Great location in bellavista. Only a couple blocks from bars restaurants nightlife. Nice terrace at the hotel to socialize.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cute little hotel in a good location - The room was a little small (but the bathroom was giant!), and since it was on the ground floor right next to the reception with a window onto the patio it was a little noisy... Luckily I can sleep through anything. No elevators, so be warned about that! Otherwise it was a very cute upscale place in good condition. I slept though breakfast, but they have coffee and some pastries out all day. The immediate block or two was a little on the sketchy side (they buzz people through the front door), but if you walk a couple of easy blocks there are plenty of restaurants, sites to see, and access to the metro. Internet was pretty good for Chile too - I could video chat back to the US fairly well with some glitches. They held onto my bags while I did my last day of site seeing before I had to catch a taxi to the airport (which they arranged for me, but was a bit overpriced).
- Silvia (10/5): Excellent Location and Super Clean - The location was perfect. Walking distance to Patio Bellavista and all the fun Restaurants and Nightlife in Bellavista. A 5-10 minute walk to the metro station and also one of the stops on the double decker bus tour. The area is very safe, even at night.
The hotel itself was nice and comfortable. It was super clean and the staff was extra helpful. The complementary breakfast in the morning is just ok but it's a good start. Also, this hotel does not have an elevator so that could be an issue for some but the staff did carry our bags up the stairs and we had no issues using the stairs.
- Brian (6/5): Great Little Gem in Santiago - Staff were great and very helpful. Location was very close to the center of the city and most tourist attractions. Overall, very happy with the hotel, but the address is hard for taxi's to find. Get to breakfast early unless you just want toast. Also, there's no elevator, so be prepared to carry your luggage up a couple of flights of stairs.
- Karen (8/5): Great boutique hotel in "Left Bank" neighborhood - Great little place on a quiet one-way, one block street in Bellavista neighborhood, near Patio Bellavista (upscale outdoor food court) and other good restaurants, not just tourist ones. Easy walk to Neruda's Santiago house and to funicular up to top of Metropolitan park. Close to Parque Forrestal & metro & Hop On/Off bus. Minimal breakfast included but that's the Chilean way. Room bright white, comfortable, clean, modern fixtures.
- paul (10/5): Lovely hotel - This beautiful little hotel is in a terrific neighbourhood. Great restaurants are located near by and we regularly walked to central Santiago along The Parque Forestal parallel to the river. The hotel itself is quiet and beautifully appointed. They could however work on the breakfast especially the coffee. They have a shower for those catching a late flight and happily kept our luggage all day after we checked out.
- John (10/5): What a great place - What a gem and what a great price! Beautiful restored home turned into a sweet little hotel. A couple blocks away from a hundred restaurants and bars but on a perfectly quiet side street. Would definitely return to this place if i find myself in Santiago. Awesome.
- Paula (10/5): Lovely Place to stay In the Big City! - I was in Santiago for business and pleasure. I stayed at the Tremo for 4 nights. The hotel offered everything that I needed. Small. Convenient. Quiet. Close to the Metro. Very Comfortable Room. Close to many great places to eat. I have no criticisms but a suggestion - breakfast needs to improve.
- Heather (8/5): Great hotel close to bellavista restaurants - Great place for a quick two day stopover. Loved being so close to patio bellavista and other restaurants in the area and walking distance to plaza des armes. Only complaint is that bathroom could use an upgrade and our room looked right on the street so had to keep blinds closed the whole time.
- Ramon (8/5): Great Experience - I had a great time at this hotel. Small, but comfortable. Best of all, the staff was very welcoming and helpful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Enjoyed our stay. - Very nice boutique hotel. The beds were comfortable and there was a friendly and attentive staff. Great location.
- Sylvain (8/5): A little gem. - Great hotel. Friendly staff, super helpful. 2 minute walk from Patio Bellavista.
Breakfast is a bit skimpy. Instant coffee doesn't quite cut it for such a nice place.
Beds are super comfy and the wifi signal is fast enough for some facetime conversations.
- A (10/5): Good choice in Bellavista - Friendly staff, convenient location and clean rooms.
- iliyana (10/5): A hidden gem! - The location was perfect! Right by the pubs of Bellavista and San Cristobal is at the end of the streets. I loved the decor of the quaint hotel and they even had a patio for you to kick back and relax. Everyone was friendly & it felt like coming home each day. The rooms were a bit small but for a couple it would be perfect! Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (10/5): A little gem - We spent 2 nights in this bright and airy small hotel. Location was ideal, just 2 blocks from the BellaVista Patio with great restaurants and shopping, and an easy walk to the Pablo Neruda house and the subway. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Front desk gave good advice on museums and transport. Would definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Too noisy - Room is very "cozy" -- read "small". Entrance to hotel by buzzer, then wait for staff to open the door. Great for security. But when someone returned at 05:00 my first night there, no one opened the door. The guests continued to buzz and to bang on the door. Sure woke me up. But the staff member must be a far superior sleeper ...
- Lainie (8/5): Peace and quiet in Bellavista - We had three nights in this lovely hotel in a balcony room with air-conditioning and private shower ensuite. The hotel is situated in a wonderful part of Santiago close to restaurants, cafes and nightlife and the Metro, yet Hotel Boutique Tremo is in a quiet and peaceful part of Bellavista. The room we stayed in had all that we needed (although a few glasses in the room for water would have been perfect) with comfortable bed and pillows, with cable TV if we wished to watch. The simple Chilean breakfast is complimentary (and worth it to get you started for a day of sight-seeing - NB Breakfast culture isn't huge in Chile, so its best to start light and grab something more substantial when you are out and about around 10-11am).
- micheal (10/5): Excellent Value - Great Location!! Close to everything. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Good wifi..No complaints. Great value for the money
- Verified traveler (6/5): nice but not without caveats - We stayed two night at this hotel. It is perfectly located at the heart of bellavista, the place to be in santiago. The staff was very friendly. The rooms are small but ok if u are looking for a place to crush and that is well located. Clean and nice deco. There were however 2 cons to our experience. First, the hotel is quite noisy, and by that i dont mean noise from the street (despite being in a lively area, the street itself is quiet) but internal noise of the hotel, particularly if u get the room behind the reception, which was our case. This was also particularly annoying because the our window faced to the terrace where breakfast was served, meaning no privacy whatsoever, except when the blinds were down. They should either place some of their plants in front of that window or use corrugated glass. I didnt ask them to move us to another room because it was only for two nights and we literally simply crushed there. But if u book this hotel for a longer period, try to avoid the lower level rooms.
- Camila (8/5): nice and clean, good location - Nice hotel and friendly staff. Close to Touristic places and restaurants. Street a bit noisy but comfortable rooms, clean, nice interiors and best location you can get.
- Erin (10/5): Great little hotel in Santiago - An excellent location and a lovely clean hotel with a light breakfast and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location and value for money - A great location in Bellavista, close to huge choice of restaurants/bars and sights and a 20 min walk into the old town. Metro & buses 5 mins walk.
The Hotel has recently been refurbished and is in excellent condition. During our stay a laptop for guests was introduced on the landing of floor 1.
There is no lift here but a wide spiral staircase so if you can't carry your luggage easily, take note. However , staff very willing to help and most spoke good English.
Rooms very small with little storage space so you have to live out of the case.
Excellent seating/lounge area outside at back in enclosed space with lots of plants and comfortable garden furniture.
If you don't have breakfast included, there is a recess on the ground floor providing coffee, cakes, fruit, water and juice on the house. A nice touch.
There are no guest laundry facilities although these are listed by Hotels.com.
