Guest Reviews
- Romalda (9/5): Great rooms with ambiance, but make sure you have a Plan B when the internet (emails) isn't availabl - The rooms were great and had nice courtyards and front porches. Very cozy! Distance to town was perfect. It's tricky not to have any staff at the hotel. As I recall, we had trouble accessing emails and so we didn't have the key codes to our rooms, and we didn't know who to call. Finally I found a lovely cleaning lady who called the office and got us straightened out. Without her, we would have been up the creek...

- Maristela (1/5): A place you can not find a soul and if you need help you’re on your own… - None None
- arkenny (10/5): Borrego mexican rooms - clean and safe place, very cosy, room are large and comfortable , right in the middle of trails of Borrego , shops and restaurants around
- ItziB_13 (10/5): Relaxing desert getaway - Lovely hotel and wonderful place to stay while exploring Anza Borrego. Decor was amazing with a Southwest feel. My room was very comfortable, clean, and featured a private patio. I especially love the lantern orovided to help you enjoy night-time on the patio. Borrego Springs is a Dark Sky city so you can also simply stargaze. Breakfast is delivered to your room and was delicous. Free parking and free Wi-Fi. Coffee and tea available in the lobby.
The Inn does offer two different pool/jacuzzi areas; one is clothing-optional (not my scene). They keep the pools nicely heated, which was welcome on cooler winter days. Highly recommended.
- travelingCAgal (8/5): Lovely stay! - We first stayed here during the pandemic. For this recent stay on May 25, we received an email that check in was at 3 pm & to notify them if we arrived after 4 for instructions. We arrived at 3:15 & no one was around. We found some maids and they tried to help us. We called the mgr and were told they were unable to email us the check in instructions & asked my husband for his contact info. Apparently Apple blocked his email (hide my email) for security reasons. After we received the code we easily self-checked into our room. My husband actually liked the self-check in.
We enjoyed the complementary breakfast (granola, yogurt, two freshly sliced & warmed croissants, butter, orange juice and fruit) delivered to our room on a tray. We thought when they did this during Covid it was due to the pandemic but apparently they kept this feature and I liked it as it felt like a B&B. I also liked that the staff knocked on the door to let us know the food had been delivered as I had opened the door three times to see if it had! I liked that they also had coffee in the lobby & it was good (not too weak like a lot of places). It was a bit chilly in the morning so it was nice to turn on the gas fireplace in the room! I also enjoyed the spa-quality soap, lotion, etc. in the bathroom & shower.
My only recommendation is that they add a small pillow for each of the cowhide chairs in the rooms as they are uncomfortable to sit on. This would be nice if you want to sit down to watch TV because the TV is small & a bit hard to watch from bed. Perhaps the addition of a few games to the lobby might be nice since it’s not being used as a breakfast room any longer. I enjoyed the outdoor fireplace being turned on near the lobby on a cold morning! It added to the ambiance of the establishment.
Beautiful, well-decorated rustic lodging facility! Awesome views of Indian Head from rooms facing roadway.
- Colleen (9/5): Overall it's a good place to stay. - Nicely decorated, nice location, nice pool. Gas fireplace didn't work.

- pp639 (10/5): Borrego Valley Inn - Beautiful Grounds - Wonderful quiet place! Convenient location and very clean. We stayed in the "La Casita King Suite" and it looked just like the pictures.
- Keith (9/5): -
- James (6/5): - The breakfast on the porch was delightful
- helenlK8163BX (2/5): Painful experience - I would have rated my experience at the Borrego Valley Inn in the room #15 in March 2026 with 4 or 5.
But, unfortunately, my last day was tinted with a very stressful and painful experience.
On my last day, March 5, just before checking out, I tidied up all the pillows on the bed and saw some kind of shiny dust in the air.
Then, when I touched one of the pillows again, I felt a terrible pain on my palms. It was fiberglass shards!!!!
I panicked, as the more I tried to remove them in touching them, or touching my palms because they are practically invisible, the more my palms hurt.
I fortunately thought of running water on them, It took me about half an hour to get rid of all of them, I had to delicately rub every sensitive areas under the water.
Things ended fine for me, but can you imagine if the shards had flown into my eyes? They would have completely scratched my eyes. And I prefer not to think of the horrible pain....
Without talking about the housekeepers who manipulate the pillow daily!
When this extremely stressful incident was over, I hurried to leave the property, as I was heading to Palm Springs to return my rental car and fly back home, By the way, the property has no front desk. I would have liked to talk about this with somebody in person to get some emotional release.
Upon return, I narrated the event in the survey and didn't get any response. So I emailed the manager twice and didn't get any response either. A week has passed and nobody contacted me!
I am more than disappointed and also chocked because what happened could have had dramatic consequences if the shards had reached my eyes.
I wanted to make sure the hotel was going to check and change all these old pillows made of fiberglass. It is dangerous. This is total negligence and it is a breach of the implied warranty of hability, as the hotel is not safe and sanitary.
So it was my experience of this place which is so beautiful
- emilyrW1611FZ (10/5): Feels like home - We’ve been staying at the Inn for nearly 20 years yet it had been 11 years since our most recent visit. When we arrived, it felt like coming
home. It’s charm is unmatched in
Anza Borrego. It’s peaceful, comfortable, and beautiful. The view of the sunset from the very private patio is one of my favorite things. The pools are refreshing after a day of heat. The breakfast in the morning is delicious. The room has everything you need. But more than that, there is an unspoken energy that resides in the Inn of calm and refuge. Looking forward to our next stay.
- Debra (10/5): We found it to be very comfortable with everything we needed for a relaxing stay - Very quiet
- K7415VWjonathanr (8/5): March 2026 visit to Anza Borrego - The room was quite and private. We loved the simple and fresh breakfast. Anza was beautiful as usual. This was not a super bloom year but the attached picture will make you think it is.
- G8094UPlauraf (10/5): The place to stay in Anza Borego - Great place to relax and recharge! Lovely accommodations and very peaceful. It's nice there are only 15 rooms and it's very quiet.
- Bénédicte (10/5): -
- Tina (10/5): -
- Sue (10/5): Delightful place to enjoy the Borrego valley. - So private and cozy with robes, hot tub and breakfasts delivered to the room. Maybe more variety with breakfast and nespresso coffee in the room.
- Peter (10/5): -
- catsnbunies (10/5): Peaceful, clean, and high-quality retreat in the desert - A perfect retreat for a weekend trip to enjoy Anza Borrego, see the flowers, stargaze, and renew with peace and quiet. This Inn was perfect for a couple looking to get away from the hustle and bustle for a little while and enjoy nature. There are no pets or children allowed on the property, which made the stay extra serene and healing. Check in was extremely simple - go direct to your door and use the code via the instructions emailed/texted beforehand. Room had everything we needed: fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, robes, towels, big blanket helpful for stargazing on the private patio, etc. Would love to come back again.
- jill (10/5): - Quiet, peaceful vibe. Great location. Fluffy towels! “Healthy” breakfast needs revision - loaded with sugar and processed breads!
- 661bernarde (10/5): Great Experience - My wife and I really enjoyed the quiet boutique hotel. It was exactly what we wanted. A light continent breakfast was delivered each day. A great experience!
- Marta (10/5): Love it there. We will keep coming back. - It’s beautiful, we used the pool and the hot tub, the breakfast was yummy, it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing I needed was a cutting board.
- Martina (4/5): Pessimo rapporto qualità/prezzo, management inesistente. - Posizione buona per visitare l'Anza Borrego State Park. Colazione buona.
- Terry (9/5): -
- Jonathan (8/5): - Cute little casita. Nice breakfast. Very clean. All good
- Elaine (10/5): - Very pretty southwest style inn around a courtyard. We had our own little patio to check the stars in the middle of the night. Bed was noisy
- Kim (7/5): Everything exceptional except the bed - Location, staff, pools, rooms, price, breakfast BED
unfortunately, the bed was very uncomfortable. Hard and bouncy. Any movement by either of us woke up the other
- D2792LObeckyc (10/5): In love all over again - Our time here is always magical and relaxing. It’s our absolute favorite place to stay and relax. Reconnect. The rooms are charming, the shower is warm, the soaps and lotions revive, the views are breathtaking, and the beds are so cozy comfortable. If only we never had to get out of them. We could, and have, stayed there all day. We absolutely adore the morning breakfast! Sometimes we open our door and the chipmunks come to visit.
- Kristina (9/5): Perfect weekend trip - Nice location to visit Anza Borrego State Park.
- Claire (10/5): - This lodging was clean, quiet, and convenient to what we wanted to see & do at Borrego Springs. The room was a bit dark, so brighter lights would be appreciated. The bed was fine for me, but too firm for my husband.
- Janeane (10/5): -
- wendydunn (10/5): We will definiely be back! - BVI is amazingly special place with perfect accommodations for relaxing and stargazing! We will be back.
- Travel07427250932 (10/5): Peaceful and quiet. - Visit 3-4 times a year. Always enjoy the peace and quiet. Highly recommend if you want to disconnect. Check in was seamless.
- jill (9/5): This is a wonderful, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the desert! - Quiet and peaceful environment. TV works well with good selection. Nice towels and robes. Minor fixes in the room (slide lock on window falling apart, missing tiles near sink, some outlets not working), some cleaning oversights (another guest's old contact lenses left near bedside, no sponge at sink to wash our dishes). We asked for more TP and teabags, but at end of day this request had not been realized - I found a housekeeper and she was happy to give us the TP, so it worked out OK).
- Susan (10/5): Comfortable, peaceful and relaxing stay in adults only inn - Enjoyed our stay very much. The inn was peaceful and quiet, the room was clean, spacious and comfortable, the bed was great, and the continental breakfast was fresh and tasty. Loved having the hot tub to use each afternoon.
- Zorro2856 (10/5): Comfortable peaceful environment to chill out in the desert. - Enjoyed our stay very much. The inn was peaceful and quiet, the room was clean, spacious and comfortable, the bed was great, and the continental breakfast was fresh and tasty. Loved having the hot tub to use each afternoon.
- Alexander (9/5): Fine views, good breakfast, artistic rooms. - Nice quiet hotel with great views, and artistic rooms. Impersonal check in by phone, and rude caller who struggled to take a credit card number down.
- Deborah (10/5): - Quiet, Peaceful
- Skydog777 (10/5): Borrego Valley Inn: Fantastic Place - Amazing location - contactless checkin makes it so stress free- amenities are pampering level - staff who deliver breakfast each morning are friendly and the decor is authentic - not "boring hotel corporate" - the small size of this resort makes it very homey. Access to markets and resturants is easy - 5 minutes away. Private patios that are super clean and roomy top it off - this is a spectacular find.
- Cecile (10/5): -
- lovepalms (8/5): Delightful southwest theme inn - The Inn is really lovely. It's southwest theme carried out throughout the property and all the rooms. The grounds are meticulously groomed and the room was very well appointed and clean. The bed is very comfortable and linens very nice; 7 pillows! 2 nice robes though we did not use them, the very basics of dishes for 2 in the kitchenette and a tv with basic channels that was easy to operate. Also a nice electric fireplace that worked well to heat up the room on a cold night .....until the batteries gave out during the night. Brrrr. I found myself wishing that in the afternoon I had called the number for a maintenance person to show me how to use the heat/ac control. It was positioned up too high for me to see the different numbers on the display much less know how to use it. Written directions would have been nice. The chilly pool was crystal clear and the warm spa too. I was surprised to find we were the only ones out enjoying it. There were lots of pool lounges, some with shade, and all in good repair, including 2 very large round upholstered chairs. The sky was incredible blue and the night sky was so clear. Other than the heat unit problem as well as the fireplace not working, my only other complaint was that the bed is too high for those with limited mobility or short people. Next time I will bring a little step from home. I am not a fan of the "invisible check-in", invisible management, but if that is what will keep the cost down, then I am in favor. A good tip for the housekeeping (who delivers a continental breakfast in the morning)/maintenance is in order! They will be the ones who help you the most.
- Uli (10/5): -
- Uli (10/5): SUPER, wir waren schon zum zweiten Mal hier und es ist immer wieder ein Erlebnis - Nette Menschen und sehr schöne Lage, für Leute die Ruhe suchen
- WHeaton (10/5): We Loved This Peaceful Retreat in Borrego Springs - We enjoyed this lovely oasis of a property for its quiet and location. The room was spacious, offering a comfortable bed with great linens and pillows, good shower pressure, the convenience of a small microwave and refrigerator, and a relaxing pool and jacuzzi. Our room (10) offered great views of the mountains. The continental breakfast was a nice bonus (just need to remember to write your order on the provided form and place it on the door the night before). Our room was missing a water glass and a bowl, but this wasn't a big deal. Breakfast would be even better if some kind of protein and/or a gluten-free options were made available.
- whistler57 (10/5): Wonderful Stay at Borrego Valley Inn - This is a lovely desert inn located minutes from Anza Borrego State Park, where we stayed for two nights. The bed, pillows and linen were very comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. The views from our room facing the mountains were spectacular. We enjoyed spending time by the pool and using the jacuzzi. The continental breakfast is a nice touch, just need to remember to place your order by hanging the placard outside your door the night before). It would be great if a protein option (hard boiled eggs?) were also available.
- Sheri (10/5): Excellent romantic inn to enjoy a weekend getaway - The room was comfortable and our entire stay was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed our visit and would 100% visit again. The bed was great, the room was clean and breakfast delivered to our door was such a nice touch. The chairs on the private patio weren't conducive to reclining and enjoying the night sky. But this is a very minor complaint. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit.
- EIKO (10/5): Serene desert getaway - Quiet and comfortable adobe style room in the desert Breakfast wasn't the same as before COVID. No coffee filters were provided.
- emr917 (10/5): Most Wonderful! - Most fantastic stay at the Inn. Amazing setting in the desert state park and the facilities were very well kept. Absolutely zero complaints and all accolades!
- john (9/5): A delightful surprise - Well decorated and maintained Nothing
- Kirill (9/5): -
- rkaye (6/5): Comfortable desert casitas lodging for couples. - Comfortable casitas with walk-in shower, patio access to swim pool and outdoor spa. Breakfast was served in the morning. Off-street dirt parking area. No on-site staff, food or drink, only an in-room minibar ($50). 1-mile walk each way to restaurants (don't recommend after dark). I requested a quiet room with bathtub, was given a room next to the street with shower. As nice as the accommodations are it didn't meet for expectations considering the cost. I can't recommend for solo travelers.
- Austin (10/5): This hotel shall be the one that all others are measured against. - This has to be my absolute all-time favorite hotel. We wanted a quiet, dark intimate space to watch the meteor shower, but we got so much more. It would be difficult to paint a picture of the properties atmosphere with words, as this property needs to be seen to be seen in person to capture one of a kind experience. Absolutely everything was perfect.
- MSCNTIST (10/5): Quiet and comfortable - Clean, quiet, and comfortably. Breakfast was nice, but would prefer a hot meal like before. No filter to make coffee in the room.
- Lynn (10/5): A very peaceful stay with star filled skies. -
- sherid536 (10/5): We highly recommend Borrego Valley Inn! - Borrego Valley Inn was in our opinion, one of the most serene, relaxing and fun places that we have ever stayed at. Our room was quiet, our bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed the chance to unwind and take in the town, restaurants, shopping and desert activities. The areas metal art sculptures were amazing! The breakfast was such a nice touch and we look forward to visiting again.
- Janet (10/5): Relaxing and scenic - Well appointed room and liked the private patio and the common patio areas. Pool in a beautiful setting. Cushions on all outside chairs
- GoPlaces769333 (10/5): Clean, quiet and nice design - Great pool and spa. Spotless room. Perfectly-groomed grounds. Very quiet and relaxing. The breakfast was simple but exceeded my expectations.
- lizl107 (6/5): Loud fan = sleepless night - It was difficult to get in touch with the online staff. This happened on two separate occasions, and each time I had to follow up twice before getting a response. That is not the level of service I was expecting. I anticipate responses within about 45 minutes of a call or text. The property is very nice, it’s just that the air conditioning fan was too loud and I couldn’t shut it off. I had a hard time sleeping even with earplugs. If it hadn’t taken so long to receive a response maybe I could’ve gotten some sleep.
- noracJ8871YO (10/5): Enjoy the tranquility of this Inn and rejuvenate your soul! - If you want to stay in a peaceful, serene setting, then Borrego Valley Inn is the place to go to. My husband & I have stayed here multiple times and we have always had an exceptional stay. The grounds are well-maintained. The rooms have that Santa Fe flair. Incredible cleanliness! And the breakfast in the morning is delicious!
- 231jefferys (10/5): Serene, clean and cute Inn. - Extremely serene and quiet Inn with wonderful Southwest atmosphere. Close to Borrego Springs town for supplies and restaurants. Overall, highly recommend if you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay.
- Manuel (10/5): -
- Paul (7/5): Borrego Valley Inn still a great place, just needs some minor improvements. - Location. Breakfeast delivery in the morning. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Been coming here for years. Time for some minor improvements. Pool chairs and some wood patio chairs and tables need replacing, perhaps the good old lounge chairs can go back to the room patios. Fix leak in Hot tub instead of constantly wasting water. Maybe switch up the croissants with muffins or another breakfeast choice in the morning. Possibly doormats to wipe your feet on instead of tracking dirt and sand into the rooms especially when coming in from the pools.
- 654ellism (10/5): Photography Road Trip - I thoroughly enjoy my stay at Borrego Valley Inn. This is my "Go To" hotel during my trips for landscape photography. The room and close facilities are outstanding.

- mkE1303SK (10/5): Great value for money - This was one of the better bookings I've made lately, and I travel a lot. My wife and I found the complex to be very clean, with all facilities well maintained. The price was really good for the beautiful, local and authentic feel, wonderful breakfast, friendly staff, and proximity to all the places we wanted to visit. Plus we took some really nice photos of the milky way.

- vernaj811 (10/5): A Desert Oasis - Love this place! There are many little touches that add to the overall experience, like having light dimming switches bedside, and lots of quality pillows. All the necessities are provided except toothpaste, and are good quality. Rooms have both bath and pool towels, along with 2 robes. Also a mini-fridge (no freezer), a microwave, utensils, glasses, bowls, and a couple dish towels are provided. Some rooms also have a sink in the "kitchen" area. Pools were just the right temperature and had plenty of chairs. Breakfast was delicious and everything came in reusable jars instead of plastic or Styrofoam. There is a nice room in the reception area where our group of 9 was able to gather to celebrate a birthday. Also the restaurant down the street, Carlees, had plenty of vegan options to keep everyone happy! Hoping to go back next year.

- 963denicem (10/5): Great hotel, customer service and experience. A must stay - This is our 2nd time staying here. It is the best experience, in season the restaurant and bar are open for a great time. Off season there are other places but the same great hotel experience and service. This is now our Borrego go to hotel forever
- evangC88PK (10/5): Great couples retreat - We had a wonderful experience and look forward to going back. Our room and back porch were lovely, the property is nicely maintained, the views of the mountains and night sky are amazing, and the breakfast was very good.
- Davina (10/5): - Well maintained delightful property
Small rooms but adequate size for a couple without children
Patio a bonus but not used as temps were too high to enjoy the outdoors - in August
Absolutely loved the amazing breakfast in the mornings delivered to your room
Warm croissants with fresh juice and fruit -
Extremely thoughtful and sweet!
- Vanessa (10/5): - Perfect desert get away spot! The staff were so kind and helpful.
- Pioneer58751885827 (10/5): Good - Great spot. Very cute room and was very clean. Room had a charm that most hotel rooms don't have. Would stay again. No problems
- Jennifer (6/5): facility checks all the boxes without 1 ounce of hospitality. - facility no hospitality whatsoever. it was a place. no

- Joan Walker (10/5): - Stargazing was AMAZING!!☺️
- Flyer651680 (10/5): Can't wait to return! - This was our 8th visit in the past 2+ years to the Borrego Valley Inn. We love the accommodations and the good care. It's just a great place to un-plug and unwind from all of life's stressors. The easy access to 4X4 desert exploration and stargazing are hard to beat. The pool is just the right touch to take the edge off the heat. Very much looking forward to our next visit.
- LakersFan (10/5): A perfect desert escape at the Borrego Valley Inn - We just returned from a wonderful two-night stay at the Borrego Valley Inn in Borrego Springs and are already planning our next visit! This small 15-room, adults-only hotel was a great find. It was peaceful, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed for relaxation and comfort.
We stayed in Room 1, a Palo Verde King, which we specifically chose for its end-unit location with windows on three sides. The extra space, natural light, and southwestern décor helped make it perfect for us. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room also had a fireplace (which we didn't use in July), a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. Everything was spotlessly clean.
Although the room had a private patio, we found ourselves enjoying the front sitting area instead—perfect for morning coffee and continental breakfast. As the sun went down behind the mountains to the west of us, we enjoyed our wine and relaxed as the lights in the resort came on. The quiet, adult-only atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for—peaceful, calm, and undisturbed.
We took advantage of one of the two pools, choosing the one where bathing suits are required. It was clean, quiet, and really enjoyable in the summer heat.
One of the most unique aspects of our stay was the seamless, contactless check-in process. We received the door code the morning we were scheduled to arrive and never needed to interact at a front desk. Friendly Louisa was the hotel’s one and only staff member we saw. She had just finished cleaning our room for our 3:00 p.m. arrival. She also delivered our delicious continental breakfast the next morning, which included fresh croissants, yogurt, granola, fruit, and juice—simple, fresh, and just right for us.
The inn does not have any dining options except the included Continental breakfast, but there are six or seven restaurants less than a mile just down the highway. We particularly liked Carlies.
Borrego Valley Inn is a truly special place. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate, and relaxing getaway in the desert, this is it. We can't wait to return!
- 846darap (10/5): Adults-Only Desert Oasis! - Peaceful, clean, and upscale without being fussy. Easy checkin process and responsive staff.
The fact it's small and adults only is huge!

La piscina está genial. La habitación fenomenal. El servicio excelente.
Y el cielo nocturno no puede ser más espectacular. Nunca antes vi tantas estrellas en el firmamento, incluida la Vía Láctea Me gustó todo
