• C2886SCdavem (10/5): Best mattress and pillows in Nantou - Just a two-minute drive to the best forest paths in Taiwan (溪頭), and fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. Wish we’d have booked a second night at Shante after our walk in the forest; our mattress and pillows were the best sleep I’ve had in months. I’ll definitely be going back to 溪頭 for its amazing phytoncide — it’s an actual magical forest! — and I’ll definitely be booking another night (or two!) at Shante

• msmanhattandiver (8/5): Exceeded our expectations - What makes our stay most memorable is the service. We travelled with elderly parents and young children. The hotel staff were more friendly and accommodating than what we experienced at a five-star hotel in Ali Mountain. The hotel offered free shuttle to Xitou everyone 30 min from 9-5. Make sure you reserve your seat early because it fills up fast. For a hotel of this size we were pleasantly surprised by the activities it offered in the evening. The kids enjoyed the cookie making class and had a blast playing Xbox/Wii at the game room - both at no additional charge. There are other machines and games for kids at small charges. They also offered free personal photo key chains with Xitou as the background. Quite a nice keepsake. The breakfast buffet is mostly Taiwanese cuisine, which I love, but is lacking in western options which some may find disappointing. Dinner is good, not great, but we were satisfied after a day of trekking in Xitou. Overall this is a great place to stay in terms of value, location and service.

• GilbertonHorse (10/5): Experience at Shante - A truly wonderful hotel located in the heart of the beautiful mountain range which surrounds this vibrant place. The rooms are moderate with a specious interior, spectacular views of the area and a very modern toilet. You would expect these hotels would have no WiFi, however it comes with WiFi that is private so there is. O need to worry. Staff who work here are extremely friendly and do their upmost duty of caring after you. And finally, the facilities are incredibly beyond amazing. It provides its very own game room, gym and massage chair which are free of charge. Would recommend to friends and family who are visiting Taiwan for the first time. I would give it 100 stars yet alone the 5 stars for its true hotelmanship.

The view was splendid. Walking distance to monster village. The room spacious and super clean. You can also join DIY cookie and bubble tea making. Thanks to the lovely lady assisting us, we had so much fun. Lovely, just lovely. We really enjoyed our stay.

• TJL120 (8/5): Nice family stay - We book the hotel for a 2 night stay, taking the public transport to come. The location is right opposite the bus stop which is one stop away from the Xi Tou main station. Room is clean and comfy; staff are friendly and helpful; breakfast has good variety to keep adults and kids happy. There is a nice wooden bath on the balcony that has a view of the mountains. Overall, we were quite happy with our choice. The cons: The bathroom is not fully enclosed, so the lights, moisture and smell can come into the bedroom. I particularly don’t like the wet floor after shower in the toilet. Although they have shuttle service, it starts too late (9:30) and ends too early (just after 5pm) so we didn’t manages to use the service.
• 781debbiet (8/5): Nice - We checked into the hotel at almost 7pm. Dinner was included in our package, which consisted 8 dishes, 1 soup, 1 dessert and fruits for 6 of us, the staffs waited patiently (with smiles) for us to finish our meal before cleaning up the mess. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel runs natural spring water to every room which has been sterilized, it has a very sophisticated auto clean toilet. The hotel provides gaming console, foot massage machines and some exercise equipment free of charge, it also offers some DIY activities but we did not explore due to time constraint. Breakfast was decent, but was surprised that they do not serve tea. We enjoyed our short stay here.

• lghepner (10/5): Great Hotel - We stayed at the Shante hotel here in Xitou, Taiwan. The hotel is in a beautiful area and from our room we had breathtaking views of the mountains. The room was very comfortable and included a hot tub on the glassed in balcony. This was wonderful, especially at night. Dinner and breakfast was included with our room and the food was delicious. The hotel service was excellent. All round it was a good experience and we recommend the hotel and look forward to our next stay there.

She also taught my tour group how to bake cookie for snacks. Hotel has nice view with very clean room. We’ve got a balcony-room with hot spring, what a lovely experience. The bathroom is clean with the Japanese auto clean toilet. Included hot water pot in the room to make my own coffee and tea. Dinner was amazing! So delicious! Can’t wait to try my cookies.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - 整體來說還不錯 ，飯店有提供免費到森林區的接駁車 ，房間乾淨有空間 ，早餐也很豐富 ，唯一不甚滿意就是空調的暖氣功能不能用 ！我們12月初入住 ，天氣已經轉涼 ，在房間看到空調調節器有暖氣功能 ，按了以後還選擇最高溫度 ，吹了一陣子冷風 ，等了約20分鐘竟覺得越來越冷 ，詢問櫃臺人員 ，他說覺得太冷的話只能把空調關掉 ，因為中央空調系統所以他們的暖氣無法使用 …………… 既然這麼說也只好關了 ，可是還是覺得有點冷 ，結果我半夜就發燒了 ，隔天感冒症狀嚴重 ，也沒體力和心情繼續旅遊 ，只想趕快回家看醫生 ，深感遺憾 ：（
• MING-SHIOU (10/5): - 有交通車可預約往來溪頭遊覽區，免除找停車位的煩惱。人員熱誠提供訊息及服務。本次因行程匆促而誤將行李箱遺留在家裡，無換洗衣物。雖屬個人行為，但因外購極為不便，最後決定當日往返台中。如飯店可準備少量一次性免洗內衣褲販賣，相信會給旅客更加便利。
• 110melvinl (8/5): Review - This has really been a great experience coming to xi tou, zhu shan, and this shante hotel offers a fantastic range of facilities. The hotel room, having stayed at the 10th floor, although we'll have to climb up 1 floor from the 9th due to the 10th floor not having lift access, is a nice 4 person room for our vacation. The room is spacious and clean, lights are bright and the bathroom has a bathtub to have a nice long bath (they provide lavender bath salts as well). They also offer a nice selection of movies to view from the TV. They also give some nice vouchers to use during our stay, such coupons for their afternoon tea, though we weren't able to join due to the narrow time frame, from 2-4pm, and also coupons to make beautiful little cute beetles from 9pm, after dinner/hotpot at their restaurant. Overall, a very nice place to spend our time when out here in the mountainous area of Taichung!
• 428sims (8/5): Review - Upon the arrival to the hotel, we were greeted by the hotel staffs we felt warm as it's like a home to us. The services provided are great. The hotel room is big and elegant, and the items provided are useful and convenient to us. On the other hand, the food served are delicious and fresh. Besides, the hotel surrounding is peaceful and quiet which is one of the reasons we'd prefer this hotel. Not to mention that we could eventually buy food and drinks without going to the convenience store. I'd recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives.

• Sau Hing (8/5): A hotel near attractions - Our room is fine for 2 persons. A balcony with wooden bath tube is provided for spa, but we did not make use of it due its cleanness and environment (mosquitoes). Breakfast is not very attractive, not many choices for our group.
• allexk2014 (8/5): Nice Hotel - On arrival we were greeted with warm welcome from the staff who were all very friendly and polite. The first impression we felt was that we were at home. It was the feeling of "Home away from Home". The hotel room is elegant, big and very clean. Food is tasty and very much like home style of cooking. The deer meet dish and cabbage vegetable were our favourite. There were several Do It Yourself ,(DIY) activities organized by the hotel, i.e. cookie baking and jelly making. We were allowed to bring away what we have baked and made. These activities kept us occupied most of the night. We were given free key chain which had picture of our photograph. Overall we had an enjoyable and memorial stay at the hotel which will always be treasured. We will be recommending to our friends and relatives and will surely consider to make another trip back and stay longer. Finally we wish to thanks all the staff for the great hospitality.
• aliciar831 (8/5): Nice place - The Shante Hotel has a very convenient location to the beautiful Xitou forest area about a 10 minute drive away. The views from the room are very nice as well. Friendly staff and a nice little balcony overlook off the room. The room we stayed in had two double beds but was a little small.
• Paling (8/5): 位置極佳 但 服務人員需要加強 - 登記入住時 覺得飯店人員專業度不佳 但門口引導停車人員相當友善熱情 翌日check out後 下午發現物品遺留在飯店（一般來說 check out 時櫃檯人員都會與房務以對講機聯絡 但他們沒有）後來發現物品忘了帶走撥電話過去後說之後聯絡 等了一個小時 只好主動再撥電話聯絡 一樣無法得知因為房務還在樓上（飯店難道沒有電話或對講機嗎？）一個多小時後 才聯絡 但我們已經離開至很遠的地方 最後只能自費請他們寄回 很不專業的客房服務

• BIGHUANG (2/5): - 整體感覺真的不好,尤其是清晨四點的火警警報鈴響,嚇壞了大家,老的小的連忙逃跑,原來是廚房燒起來,而當下沒有服務人員安撫旅客,應變措施反應不夠,只對旅客說自行已滅火,遲 遲不見消防車來,若是大火災,後果不堪設想,不會再選擇此飯店了,希望要好好重視此事.

• davidlS4577KI (10/5): Ms - The balcony of my room is facing greenery, having a beautiful scene. It makes my stay so relax and refreshing. Room is spacious, beds are so comfortable. Best of all, I love using the electronic bidet toilet seat provided in the washroom. Even to make my stay a memorable one, the hotel staff conduct biscuits DIY activity at night.
• Chi Ming (8/5): Recommended for its view and surrounding. - Nice view from bacony. Wifi slow. Staff can be more friendly.
• ROGER (8/5): 餐點美味 - 乾淨衛生，在高山上房間內沒有潮濕感，晚上附近沒有逛的地方是缺點，這間很適合家庭入住，不用擔心衛生問題，房間缺點可能就是門的隔音不好，外面聲音都聽的見，也許大家隔天都早起爬山吧，晚上倒是很靜。
• mel (8/5): 簡潔，舒適 - 簡潔，舒服，酒店職員友善，有禮，樂於助人，有景點不清楚向他/她們發問，都儘量解答協助。附近設施不錯，周邊環境清靜，整體感覺舒適。
• Eric (8/5): 房間舒適，早餐選擇較少 - 這次看中六人房是因為床墊放在木地板上，不用擔心小朋友睡到半夜掉下床，廁所與浴室是分離的，很方便，比較可惜的是陽台沒有什麼景色可言，也因為靠近馬路，有些改裝車的噪音會傳近來，平均來說是一個高CP值的飯店。

• Thomas (10/5): Great Stay at Xitou - We stayed 2 nights on our visit to Xitou. Hotel in great shape. Room and beds comfortable. Balcony had a wooden bathtub. Took open air bubble bath! Not much food in area. Had hotel hotpot each night. Very good. Breakfast buffet decent. Free shuttle to Xitou. Staff very helpful. If go Xitou again, will stay here.
• Jin Ngee (10/5): Best hotel here in Xitou - I wished I had booked Shante Hotel for two nights because of the sights in this vicinity. I had stayed somewhere else in Chiayi and then Sun Moon Lake and then here but my first visit was to the Zhushan Sky Ladder. Should have known it is next to Xitou Recreational Forest as well as the Sun Link Sea Recreational Forest. Both of which are at close driving proximity to Shante Hotel The room itself is excellent. Huge room size, amazing views of the Xitou Forest. Clear unpolluted sky for star gazing at night from the balcony. However, getting a room here for consecutive nights might be a challenge unless you book early. When I was here, tour groups arrived and booked for a night's stay. The hot pot provided by the restaurant is a little pricey but it is OK judging from the limited dining options around. We are in the middle of a forest after all. For nearby entertainment as mentioned above, there are the forest recreational areas as well as the Monster Village just outside of Xitou Recreational Forest. All in all, I would stay here rather than elsewhere if the objective is to visit this beautiful area of Nantou.
