Susan (8/5): Great place to stay, simple! - Great building. Brilliant staff. Reservation was easy. Very warm welcome, efficient check in . Taxi transfers to and from airport arranged at a fair price with safe drivers. Initial pick up was efficient and polite. Reception organised a driver and car to key sights in city. Safe and efficient service, lots seen in short time again for a fair price. Certainly made to feel a valued customer, thank you everyone. Pool surround dirty. Cylindrical shaped rungs on pool ladders are never a comfy idea, what is wrong with a flat step??

Rajendra (4/5): Very scary and disappointing experience. - Centrally located Not very safe. One person tried to barge in using master key. Initially the telephone rang which I was not able to pick. After sometime one person barged in without even knocking on the door. On questioning he said he had come to give an iron, which I had not asked for. Very scary. Complained to the duty manager. They had no complaints register, which was strange. Clearly the intention was burglary. While checking in the clerk was sitting on a chair busy with other guest. No extra chairs in the reception for guests waiting. The clerk should be standing not sitting. He was busy crunching numbers while I had to wait. Food was pathetic. I had expected genuine food that Lucknow is famous for but we were disappointed.

Alok (3/5): Stay was good overall. - Good breakfast overall. Staff was good. The management was not good. The room was provided to us later than expected even though we arrived well after the official check in time. The prices for the rooms were too high. They even demanded extra 1500 INR + taxes from us even though we did not get any extra bed. Later after enquiring about the reason for that, they did not charge us. This looks like a shady way to extort money.
Singh (7/5): It was comfortable - but could have been better i - The entrance lobby, staff, location, Gomti river view, helpful front desk, quick room service delivery, Falak Nama was a good experience , the food was average, breakfast was not varied- but heavy on fried stuff, Dosa etc. very oily, we had to change the room as the first room was below expectation's, leaky shower , wet bathrooms etc. the rooms need a big upgrade, after the grand entrance, they are a disappointment.

Surprisingly, the guard, hotel staff did not allow the auto to enter the porch which is understandable, but told us to park and get down outside the hotel. Such discrimination was very insulting!

Brijendra (5/5): Hotel building, lobby, dinning area are old classic and beautiful but the other facilities are tired - BF, to my surprise, was not included in the price. Normally, Booking.com invariably includes BF. I had to check the details and then realized that this booking did not include BF. Something for Bookin.com to negotiate with the property. BF was fine. My room Stainless steel faucets did not look like had been cleaned in at least a week. TV functioning was complicated. It kept switching from one source to another ( HDML3 , LG) . When you turn on the TV, one gets no signal. You had to play around to get the source with a signal. Hotel should have an instructions sheet rather than have to call a technician. There should be a tv guide listing channel nos for major broadcasting net works so visitors from out of country can easily find a particular broadcasting net work such as BBC news or CNN or some India news Bed mattress was the most uncomfortable mattress, needs immediate replacement with a modern mattress.
Himani (6/5): - The property is not well maintained. Rooms look dirty nd dusty . Even the top most floor had so much noise pollution from outside . Bathrooms were not clean . The property is way too old and many things need renovation especially bathrooms. Reception nd restaurants are well maintained. Food is pricy . Views from rooms are good. Bell desk staff are good . But their reception staff look grumpy and non welcoming. They are always irritated about something and are non smiling , all of them . Didn’t had a very good first impression. Will consider other options for next time.

Water was leaking from the shower room. I believe a five star hotel would have SOP’s regarding these. However cleaning staff were very courteous and quickly made up for the items lacking. However
