- Pia (4/5): OK til prisen, og hvis man bare har brug for et sted at sove - Værelset var rent Badeværelset var meget slidt. En del støj fra stor vej
- Jodi (1/5): -
- Paul (7/5): No frills. But perfectly reasonable, clean and comfortable. - Good value.
- Jessica (3/5): - Reception man was nice Broken shower, bed was uncomfortable… could’ve done a lot better.
- Paul (8/5): -
- William (8/5): Stay was good - Location was good right outside main travel link
- Vic (6/5): Very helpful, clean and tidy, no problems what so ever. - Clean tidy helpful and secure Other residents, but cannot complain about the hotel or bar
- Luke (10/5): -
- Hairbear (10/5): The place to stay - Location, price and most of all the staff. Any issues were dealt with immediately. Could have done with more milk, but otherwise brilliant.
- nanaamas2026 (6/5): My visit was kinda cool, the bed gave me such an uncomfortable feeling and time. - The bed in room #122 is not good
It makes so much noise when you’re just tossing on it.
The mattress is kinda flat making your back ache, the pillows are very very flattened and not good for a neck position therefore giving you neck pains as soon as you wake up.
Also can the rooms be carpeted with some woolen carpets other than the cold-bare floors.
- Kevin P Gomes (8/5): - Very close to the train station and bus station, very reasonable price.
Clean . Bathrooms need a bit of updating
- Charlotte (5/5): Not worth £52! - It is very central
But parking is a problem! Not much, I understand that is a budget hotel, but I could not get on with the threatening little notices several places in the room!
It does not show any respect for the guests.
The windows were filthy, the decor dire. The floor tiles had been painted and were peeling badly leaving paint bits stuck to you feet!
Every was botched, the repair on the furniture, the decorating.
And the plastic coving.
The over use of automatic air choked you in the hallways.
The bedding was made from polyester, both linen and the cover and pillows. Lumpy and uncomfortable.
The bed was hard and uncomfortable.
It was impossible to find a good temperature on the shower, even the lowest setting was too hot.
And do buy a shower screen and install it right where you threatening notice sits, so there is no chance of getting turfed out mid shower!
- Grovesy (7/5): - Clean good price
- Khalidur (6/5): -
- Joan (6/5): Ok apart from checking in - Good nights sleep Was asked for photo ID , passport or drivers licence which I never carry with me when I am away , we had not even pre paid for the room beforehand so don’t know why receptionist would doubt it was us wh had booked , not happy at all and ended up he wanted a photo of my bank card , I will be keeping an eye on my account , for that reason will not be booking again with that hotel 🤬
- Louisa (1/5): - Nothing No wifi ..dripping bath..mould around bath..bed uncomfortable

- Mandy (8/5): Perfect for a quick couple of nights, good location for going out and about in Hull. Comfy beds. - The building itself was lovely, the staff were good. Very friendly and helpful. The broken furniture in the room
- 268reecem (2/5): Awful - Don’t ever stay at this hotel, when I arrived they took a picture of my bank card and tried to take £100. Which then later on was told it was a deposit. I had a family friend with me, they wouldn’t let him in the room which they then stood outside until we left.
- Matthew (6/5): -
- Morfee (1/5): Shocking - Nothing. Booked a hotel with family friends, was told he wasn’t able to come upstairs or in the room. Ended up not staying, absolutely shocking. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. He also tried charging me £100 extra, although I was only there for 5 minutes. Scum.
- tammy (9/5): -

- janine (5/5): - It was in a excellant location exactly where i wanted to be I didnt like the fact that even though i get breathless and find it hard to climb alot of stairs as i also suffer with vertigo and the lift was oit of service i had to ask for my room to be changed as i was placed on the 2nd and climbing 4 flights of stairs i got very breathless and dizzy i had to ask for a different room . Which i was given on the 1st floor which was still 3 flights of stais which still made me breathless
- Katrina (10/5): -
- Riad (6/5): -
- Mohammed (7/5): - The room, location and bed were all good. My locked to structure bike was stolen from the Hotel's cark park, which is not fully enclosed. The hotel refused to look at the CCTV to identify what happened and simply asked me to goto police. Someone came from outside to cut the bike lock? That is very bad. I still need an answer, if it was from outside or hotel staff just threw the bike away. Police are not going to look into few hundred pounds bike.
- Kyle (1/5): Miserable but slept - Nothing Couldn’t bring any tarts back or you’d get charged a fee
- gloriasS2969LL (10/5): Peaceful and clean - I did like the hotel premises, room was big, clean and tidy. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. I spent 11 days there. It was a nice place to stay. Close to the all stations( buses and trains)and shopping centre. A very peaceful environment. I really enjoyed my holiday there ☺️
- Emily (7/5): Good place - It’s clean but no food Clean
- Harman (1/5): -
- Callum (1/5): -
- Jon (1/5): Avoid at all costs - Nothing. This hotel shouldn't be on booking.com Hotel was dirty and smelly, room hadn't been cleaned, bathroom dirty and I had to clean it myself before I could use it. Facilities shut, bar shut, staff absent.

- Patryk (10/5): -
- F6221WEpaulm (8/5): Gilson Hotel - Stayed for 6 weeks and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and quiet.
Reasonably priced but fluctuated a little too often and overall, a little too over priced. Good location giving various food and drink options.
- Liam (4/5): -
- Scottie (5/5): - The location was amazing The £100 deposit the bed was creaking every turn
- Jack (1/5): Should’ve given me some sort of refund. Hotel needs closing and refurbishing - The location is good for being in the city centre. The hotel is run down. It looks old, it smelt funny. I was shown three separate rooms and each one was run down, tired and the decor was all over the place.
And to top it all off, after refusing to stay there. The hotel didn’t give me my money back for any of the stay.
- DebiJW68 (10/5): Excellent stay as usual 😊 - Excellent stay again. Spacious room, comfortable bed, powerful shower. The staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. The hotel is central with easy access to the shopping centres, local pubs and restaurants. Have stayed there several times before and will definitely be staying there again.
- White (10/5): -
- White (10/5): - Everything i would be staying here again 1000% recommend been here twice id love to stay again
- Asmelash Nuguse (9/5): -
- Nerijus (10/5): -
- Joshua (2/5): - Was not happy with the stay, the picture was very misleading as the rooms look nice but wasn't the actual room we had. The room was not cleaned, and also having to put £100 deposit when it wasn't mentioned about it and not getting the money back straight away and having to wait for it. Would not reprimand this place to anyone. The place says that it doesn't tolerate loud noise even though the room next to us was slamming doors, the TV was on really loud and the hallway snelt like cat piss. The receptionist was quite rude and was not happy with the stay at all.
- susan (7/5): What you'd expect for the price. - It was what expected for the price. Kettle in the room.Comfortable & enough space. Handy location for the station & wetherspoons.! Staff helpful & friendly. Allowed us to leave bags in reception before check in. Plenty of hot water for bath/shower No breakfast available.Room a little shabby, .
- 207geoffb (8/5): Lovely central hotel - Hotel is central to Hull. 4 minutes walk from the railway/bus station. Wetherspoons just 4 minutes walk away. Room was clean and fairly well equipped. Bed comfortable, but pillows a bit thin. Shower was hot and powerful. Tea and coffee facilities available. Receptionist very friendly and gave us extra milk
- khivah2026 (6/5): It was good not so bad - Location is really good, in the middle of the city. Staff was really friendly and soft spoken. Rooms were neat and clean, atmosphere was nice as well. But there were no body and face washes in the bathroom and there was just one toilet roll.
- Gianluca Torina (7/5): - Near the city centre, close to bars and places to eat. Easy and simple check in. For a night or 2, it's good
- G (5/5): - Window broken TV remote missing back lathe amount of space with nothing in the bathroom very rough experience
- Jordan (7/5): -
- Bethany (1/5): - NOTHING Rude service complete scam payed by booking.com and asked us for £200 when we got there as a deposit and because I didnt want to pay it they cancelled the room DO NOT BOOK WITH THUS SCAM HOTEL!!!!
RUINED OUR NEW YEARS EVE
- L1698VOseanl (8/5): Decent budget hotel - Staff on the reception were extremely polite and helpful, specially as a blue badge holder i was allowed to park outside the hotel if/when there was a space.
Yes the prices were cheap and it is a budget hotel but you get a bed to rest your head ,TV and kettle ! The bed mattress and pillows were quite firm BUT I had a brilliant night's sleep!!
My only 2 complaints are that the bathroom sink didn't have a correct size plug and you couldn't turn radiator on to heat the room up as it was rather cold.
- ChrisPat2323 (10/5): Amazing experience start to finish - Absolutely amazing from start to finish, my favourite hotel when staying in Hull, the staff could not do enough for me, the junior suite is huge and the jacuzzi is a brilliant touch. Fantastic hotel highly recommend
- ayfero93 (10/5): Welcoming and kind staff - The hotel is very centrally placed. The rooms were clean, warm and offered tea and coffee making facilities which is always a huge plus in my book!
But the best part was the helpful and welcoming staff, particularly Kieran on reception.
Thank you to both reception staff for making our stay pleasant and welcoming. We will come again!
- Ntwali (9/5): Great place to stay in -
- Don (8/5): Perfect stay for a family get together in the city centre - Great Value. Great location - very close to the transport interchange. Preferred it when the bar was onsite.
- Sahin (1/5): - Rtfs Veggie
- S7148NMgemmat (2/5): Avoid they keep people’s deposits - Disgusting rooms room stunk of smoke when arrived also didn’t get deposit back said was smoking yet seen my partner go out for cigs all night they was no smoke at all in the room I’d stay well away as they do not like to give deposits bk to ppl
- Gemma (1/5): - Disgusting all of it
- Mazin (8/5): -
- Caroline (1/5): Disappointed and disgusted - Last minute booking accepted The staff were rude and really unhelpful. As it was a last minute booking none of us had ID, but all the booking details were on phone along with proof of payment, pin confirmation etc but the receptionist refused to give our paid for room and then another person got involved and was rude and to sum it all up, the receptionist said I was lucky to be with my black partner and he want saying the things he would like to say to me!!
I was disgusted and so were the couple who were waiting to book in behind us too.
- Gavin (1/5): Good when in room but Customer service appalling - The staff almost refused my stay due to my ID being refused, I was travelling with my teenage daughter who was distraught.
- JEFFIN (8/5): -
- Remigiusz (10/5): -
- Jonathan (8/5): -
- Lindz (6/5): - The room was warm and 11 o clock check out is amazing . No wine glasses was available , wasn't enough coffee and milk no bottles fresh water.
- Kieran (10/5): -
- Lee (1/5): Was never allowed to enter was a a poor experience - Nothing Nothing
- Remigiusz (10/5): -
- Esther (6/5): Cheap, easy to get to, friendly staff, needs a bit of an update. - You get what you pay for, cheap as chips for a mediocre room, that is reflected in the quality of the room.
Very outdated and rough looking furniture, and the shower head didn't sit correctly in the holder. A bit on the cold side for my liking, even with radiator turned on full.
However, it was quiet, and the location is handy as it's right near the station.
The staff were really friendly too.
This place just needs a good update and a bit of love and that would make it great! Fix the shower head.
Get some rugs/carpet, the wood floor was really cold.
Turn up the heating.
Fluffier pillows.
- Maddie (10/5): -
- Niklas (8/5): -
- Mark (1/5): Never again - The door in the room worked Bed . Shocking , a solid 18 mm mdf sheet with a solid thin mattress on top , bed creaked ever time you moved slightly .
I got no sleep that night , but I was only there for the one night . So I thought my nightmare was over only for the hotel to ring me the following night at midnight ,waking me up even when I was home . Shocking
- Ian (8/5): -
- M (10/5): Great location, quiet and comfortable. - Central location, close to shops and restaurants. Ideal for travellers and workers as next to Wetherspoons, for breakfast and dinner.
- 763devenderm (6/5): Economical but very basic hotel - Very basic facilities compared to the other standard hotels. However, decent hotel considering the cost. Close to the conference centre.
- Amina (4/5): -
- John (8/5): Good and convenient - Location
- Yoana (6/5): Outdated and certainly not worth £150 for 2 nights, however staff were kind and very accommodating! - The staff were great very responsive and resolved my issue immediately, as my room was over a rock bar. I could hear the music, however not only did they asked the bar to turn the music down in the evening but they moved me to a quieter room the next day too. The hotel itself is quite outdated, and I would not say it’s worth £150 for 2 nights. Absolutely cannot for the life of me justify that shocking price. It has the facilities but there is not an ounce of luxury. I was there for a work conference so I can imagine the prices were really amped up, but nothing within the hotel justifies that, even the kind friendly staff. Overall VERY outdated. Old bedside tables. Rusty metal handles in the bathroom. Old paint job, cracks and marks all over the woordwork, on the bathroom door. Mattress wasn’t the most comfortable either. No toiletries, only handsoap in the bathroom. Toilet flushing system was so poor I was battling with flushing 6-7 times at least. Stained duvet, although the sheets and pillow cases were clean. Ultimately, again, NOT worth £150 for 2 nights.
- Risto (7/5): -
- Rahi (2/5): Dirty - Location Staff didnt know how to operate heating
It was cold
Bed bugs
Hot water took a while
- Julie Ann (9/5): It’s was good - Very central The noise and the bed was not comfy
