Guest Reviews
- Steven (4/5): - The photos in the Expedia listing are not representative of the room you will have. There was multiple cockroaches over the course of our stay and neither the floor was swept or the walls cleaned of food stains? All and all I was worried for my health in a way that I’ve never had camping. Spend the extra 50 a night for a real hotel
- Joshua Dominic (6/5): - El aire acondicionado no servia
- Timothy (10/5): - Very nice rooms
- Simon (4/5): - Checked in at 3pm and allocated a room that when I got to it hadn’t been cleaned. Allocated another room which could have done with a proper deep clean throughout. The premises is generally dilapidated and needs deep cleaned, painted and carpets renewed just for a start. The bed was fairly comfy but only had one sheet covering the mattress and no matress protector. One positive was the WiFi and single USB point. At $270 for two nights it’s very expensive for what it is
- Irvin Gabriel (2/5): - The hotel is okay, just for sleeping. It's a good price if you're going to NY and are looking to avoid those High prices. When we got to the room the bed sheets were full of hairs, long hairs, short hairs, hair everywhere. We had to buy new sheets and put them. The closet door was broken and the broken one was left in the room without fixing. One of the days we got there and there were suspicious people inside near the lobby, they looked homeless. And the areas around the hotel smell really bad. Good place just needs cleaning, clean the room and beds, please. A good thing, the room was really quiet, there was no noise even though there was an event in the street. For that I'm grateful.
- Darren (6/5): Cheap hotel was worth the stay. - For what I paid, overall it was worth stating here. The bed was huge and comfy. The room was clean. The hotel did smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways, but not my room. Everyone on the front desk were very friendly and always helpful. This is a simple hotel so if you’re after luxury, this is not for you.
My room had a small fridge which did come in handy.
- Elhachmi (10/5): - It
- Gautham (8/5): - There was TV shown in the listing but there was no TV in the room
- Dane (10/5): - very nice place for the price. the area is kinda sketchy but its very close to the train station so that really isnt a big deal
- Edward (8/5): Basic Hotel - Basic clean comfortable room. Need some maintenance in bathroom.
- Vitaliy (2/5): - Better then sleeping in the truck, but common, entrance to this place was like a back of a building storage room entrance, everything old, dirty and outdated. Bed lookeded clean but sheets didn’t smell fresh. Wouldn't recommend unless this is the last hotel option you have. And even then consider something else.
- Amit (10/5): - Stayed one night at Haiban Inn and had a good experience overall. The location is super convenient—just a short walk to the Journal Square PATH station, and surrounded by great Indian restaurants.
The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a quick overnight stay—microwave, mini fridge, and decent Wi-Fi. Check-in was smooth and the staff was friendly and helpful.
There’s no private parking, but I was able to get a street parking, which made overnight parking easy and affordable—no issues finding a spot nearby especially late night.
It’s not fancy, but for the price and location, it’s a solid choice. I’d definitely consider staying here again for a short trip or transit stop.
- Nilesh (2/5): - I would cancel my trip instead of staying here..
- Carter (6/5): - The room was good. AC was good. Bed was comfortable.
- Kai (8/5): - Fine place, just the basics so expensive for what you get
- Kyree (8/5): - It was fine came for pokemon go fest
- Ali (4/5): - The picture they on the website is completely different from what they have in their hotel room so they lie.
- Elom (10/5): - I have stayed here multiple times over the years and enjoyed my recent stay as well
- Dhana Laxmi (6/5): - There is no water facility and WiFi is also not working.
- Brian (10/5): terrible - The night manager was nice, but there was construction all night until 5am..... I will never stay there again, the room smelled like mold. I almost left. but my flight was so early.... I have been in 3rd world countries with better hotels.... I am an easy grader. but this hotel was terrible
- Ralph (8/5): - Marble Staircase. Very old building but modernized.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Absolutely disgusting.
- Nohelya (2/5): - Door wouldn’t lock , we heard our next door neighbor entire conversation. Hallway is clean , entrance is clean . Tv didn’t work ‘
- shavel (8/5): - Very polite staff
- Gunnar (8/5): - Was cool
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This hotel looked okay when I booked it. It even has a decent rating on this website and Google. But the room was very dirty. The bathroom and bed were clean, but it smelled like someone had smoked in it and the walls were very grimy. I woke up in the morning to the sound of rats running around in the ceiling. The staff was very nice and accommodating, but the room was very poor quality.
- Michael (10/5): - Good
- Tabi (2/5): - Rooms are hurrible, there was no electricity in the room when i arrived. In short, there has to be some basic hotel standard for a historic city like New York. Looked like a third world country hotel or worse. Would not recommend to anyone unless a serious renovation is carried out.
- Mona Liza (6/5): - Close to stores and train
- Samuel (8/5): - Close to the path
- Nigel (6/5): - In an area popular with Asians and quite noisy. No plug in sink, no cups or glasses, no coat hangers. Old decour, but clean.
- khelidja (6/5): - The prices for such a place in an area like this one is so high that's my only complaint
- Cengiz (10/5): - Nice, clean room, nice staff members and convenient location.
- Kirk (8/5): - No parking, the staff were rude and unprofessional.
- Matthew (6/5): - The intrance was in an ally hidden. They tried doing upgrades but looks sloppily done. Also no parking anywhere. You have to find street parking. For me that was 4 blocks away. I will give 3 stars because it looks like there trying.
- Dave (6/5): - The floor hadn’t been swept. There was debris on the floor. The mini blind was broken. I had to cover the window with my t shirts so no body could see in at night. And kind of noisy about midnight.
- Wajeeha (2/5): - Very poor customer service and too noisy
- Nadia (6/5): - Old and untidy hotel
- Manoj (2/5): - Not clean. Not even water was available. Very noisy and bed was terrible
- Anthony (8/5): - I've been using Haibann Inn since 2022, every time I arrive I experience a no-stress check-in; friendly vibes, and wonderful service.
- Elom (10/5): - I stay at this hotel whenever I am in town and always enjoy my stays here. The staff is friendly and I like the location as well.
- Habiba (10/5): - I like how safe the property is and at the same time very clean
- Shamira (10/5): - It was great
- Fredian (10/5): Great - Very nice, clean, relaxing, comfortable, quiet! I can go on, will visit again!
- Michael (8/5): - The room seemed clean when we got there. Water took a long time to heat up but did eventually come. Loud area at night and was impossible to find parking and had to park almost 10 minutes away in a garage. Staff seemed friendly. Honestly not to bad for a budget option.
- Erik (4/5): - walls paper thin can hear tv/laptop videos from next door. found cockroachs in the room
- David (6/5): - Liked: dining options.
Did not like: No hot water. Hair dryer did not work. Desk failed to give me receipt at checkoit saying it would be emailed to me later that day which did not happen.
- Samantha (10/5): - Asked for more towels & received them immediately. Nice room.
- Stephen (6/5): - close to path train
- Militza (8/5): - This property it was a litter bit noise for my taste.
- Scott (10/5): - It was quiet and the beds was comfortable need better pillows though they were very flat had to buy my own and most of the sockets didn’t work.
- Peter (10/5): - Very comfortable hotel, helpful staff.
Very close to the Journal Square Path train. Via the Path trains, both midtown and downtown Manhattan is an easy and quick trip away.
Hotel is located in the heart of a friendly and safe Indian neighborhood.
The renovated rooms are very nice.
- Toyota (8/5): - Area around the hotel was sketch.
- ian (6/5): - Beeing a 2-star hotel, there's not much to expect. Staff at lobby was good, check-in was easy and the room is fair. Bathroom seemed recently remodeled and looked good. Cleanliness was ok but room for improvement.
- Hridya (10/5): - Kindly and helpful staf, comfortable stay. This is my third business trip.I recommend this hotel for Newyork trip
- Rohit (6/5): - Bed not good. Room smells.
- Michael (2/5): Terrible, don’t stay here! - Terrible dump. Stains and cigarette burns on the bedding, dirty and stinky. Unsafe location. Never checked in and still was charged. Very disappointed with hotels.com for not allowing cancellation.
- Earl (2/5): Never stay here… - Absolutely horrible disgusting. Everything smells look very unsafe. Open wires in the ceilings, wood over the window,I tried to get ahold of hotels.com but as usual “nothing “I booked on their room thru Hilton @ anther $40 Uber ride at midnight,I will never use this site again & that’s someone hwho has used it for 10 years…..
- Edward (8/5): Comforatble stay - It is a basic clean and comforatble place to stay. Limited amenities in the room (no hair dryer or coffe maker). Convenient location.
- Adam (2/5): - Cockroaches found in room, dirty bedsheets and towels
- Fernando (6/5): The hide bin inn - When I arrived the man at the desk was some what pleasant within he kept asking me don’t smoke in the room I don’t even smoke so I don’t know why he kept saying questioning me about smoking then when I went in the room, I found tobacco on the safe, so whoever had the room before me must of rolled a blunt the bathroom was clean the location is in a bad spot you’ll pass it up if don’t pay attention it look like it’s in a Alley way straight out the movies where someone about jump out at you
- Nicoll (10/5): - All it was really good. I would like that the bathroom have more cleanest
- Javier De (8/5): - Great location
- Alberto (2/5): It’s not a Hotel - When arriving I needed to run to use the restroom. When ask hotel clerk if where is the bathroom? He answered we have none even though a door with big letters said bathroom. I had hold it until check in was completed. When entering the room closet door was on the floor & no TV. I have never ben in a situation like this. I should be refunded…
- Donna (10/5): - The inn is very clean..& quite spacious, the staff was friendly & helpful, there are many restaurants & shops to buy food ect..its in an indian neighborhood..i would recommend this place & i will stay here again
- Brian (2/5): - The walls were stained in hallways and also in room. Also, the light switch in bathroom activates a fan which sent dust fkying out. There was a hole in the wall. Everything seemed unclean.
- frederick (6/5): - The desk employee's were helpful. The room was clean.
You get what you pay for.
My wife and I only needed it for sleeping since we were going to NYC for a day so we weren't there much.
People were nice and helpful.
- Avery (4/5): - you get what you pay for i suppose, probably would not stay here again
- Rafael (2/5): - ATTENTION. This is a SCAM. I booked one night with the "pay at the property" option. When I got there at 11pm, they said there was no booking and that I'd have to pay extra, as a walk-in, because I had no reservation.
Expedia confirmed that I had the booking - If I hadn't, how would I be able to put this feedback here? The front desk "lost" my reservation so I'd be forced to pay more.
- Kelly (6/5): - I saw that the property had a 2 star rating, and was going to give it a 3 star because of the renovations, but then I sat on the bed, and felt and heard the bed springs. There was also a couple of construction flaws that should been addressed before they paid the contractors. Also we should be able to upload pictures of issues into these reviews.
- Dharapatel2915@gmil.com (2/5): - the pne window was opened i tried to close it but it was not working . the pillow was not good only one pillow was there. the water was not available. no stafff serviceee in thay hotel. no phone call for room services. i did not expect this kind of facility in us. my experience was very bad . i did not suggest anyone . honestly i dont like the stay in haibann in hotel
- Ranjeet (6/5): - Entire India Square is at your disposal. Lot of options of Indian breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some eateries open till 2am as well. Hotel rooms have a bad odor and average cleanliness. But overall the staffs were good and friendly. Best part is all the food options you get.
- Pablo (8/5): A hidden gem - The room was clean and very close to the transportation hub.
the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spotlessly clean.
- Anthony (8/5): - There was no refrigerator in the room or ice machine in the lobby during extremely hot days. The room had a nice bed and the air conditioner was quite helpful
- Ajigar Mallik (2/5): - The comforters and blankets got stinky smell and we found bugs on bed and they bit us , lack of sleep and no parking facility
- Hridya (10/5): - Good stay nice staff affordable price
- Ashley (10/5): - The staff was very helpful. The room was neat and tidy. The hotel is located on a nice area and there are plenty of restaurants and stores nearby.
- Mahanandi (2/5): - Don't have minimum amenities.housekeeping not available everyday.water leaks,broken chairs,broken windows,No water for 5 hours.
- Jajan (2/5): - Terrible
- Naven (2/5): - Terrible place to stay...not worth the bucks you pay. Room is covered with dust...mattress is hard like wooden floor...only cold water runs in the bathroom or shower...window doesn't have blinds and there are tenants in the next building...hand basin seems to be broken, room and corridor stinks like smoke...I would have given minus 10 rating for this hotel
- Lewis (10/5): - I really like the friendly staff,
The Indian culture provided a warm and mystical, vibe that I found intriguing,
- Alex (8/5): - The rooms were clean, but the wifi was non existent. I requested to be moved to another room because the tv wasnt working. They moved me easily. But I only got one small towel soap and shampoo. I requested another set but the staff never came through. No bed bugs is a plus. And the restaurants around the area are good. But fix the wifi and give out more toiletries.
- Vijaya (10/5): - Good service, clean, quiet
- ELOM (8/5): - Good value for the money and in a great area. Have booked this hotel many times.
- HARSH (2/5): prefer only 4th floor - Dont preferred this hotel with the family.
Poor customer service.
- Opal (4/5): - The face basin and toilet were clean but the shower is dirty and filled with black mould. Looks like the shower was never washed ever. If the shower head had build up. I asked for it to be clean, it was still dirty. I had to buy bleach and bathroom cleaner to clean the shower head and spray the area.
- Vaibhav (4/5): Not recommended - dirty, flies in my room.
- ELOM (10/5): - Close to Path Train to NYC, In good area with lots of stores and restaurants
- ELOM (8/5): - Good spot if you just want somewhere to rest for the night and don't really care about the extras like room service & fancy amenities. My bed was a little rough and uncomfortable though but I made due.
Pros: Price, location (nice Indian neighborhood in JC with a lot of cool Indian restaurants, near Path Train so you'll be in NYC in minutes)
Cons: Cable tv quality wasn't the best but if you're gonna be out & about anyway it's no big deal.
- Bikiran (6/5): Decent hotel for the price - For the price, the hotel is decent. Neighborhood is very safe and is full of indian restaurants. Parking is not included and i had to park in a nearby lot for $40 a night. Hotel staff is also decent and helpful.
But some issues were there. Only provided one towel and no hair dryer. When asked for more towels, they took a long time to give it to us. Gave a hair dryer which had the adapter missing. Also it took quite a while for the water to get hot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Prime location closer to everything - The staff were really nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Hotels.com and the hotel has disconnect - As per the hotel.com booking I was supposed to get a room with tv including cable and complimentary water bottles.. I was given room without tv and no water.
Cleaning was not daily, I just got 2 times on my 1 week of stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): TERRIBLE PLACE. TO AVOID BY ALL MEANS - Terrible room. Very dirty and cold. Not safe because at 6:00 AM someone opened my door but the safety lock prevented him to enter in my room. The TV set was not in my room. The microwave door glass was shattered.
- Steven (2/5): - Terrible hole in the wall , doors and walls had stains the shower was cold water but the sink had hot water
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was nice, but a little pricey for it to have roaches.
- carmen (2/5): - Disgusting I left immediately and they refused to refund me
- Verified traveler (2/5): terrible - worst experience- blood on the sheets, holes in the walls, no lights in the bathrooms... just to name a few problems
- Jiaqi (2/5): - no sound proof. Next door f**ked all night and I didn’t sleep at all
- Alisha Aslam (6/5): Big space but terrible condition - The room itself is big and spacious but not the biggest problem is the cleanliness. Trash is not picked up that was left by the last guest and it looked like the room hasn't been cleaned in a month.
- Janina (6/5): - Well I was so happy because it was cheap and the place is nice and smell clean! The room it was so perfect 🤩 and the bathroom love it 😊 the water warm and so good but only I complain on two things. First the door 🚪 opens good but the lock 🔒 not want to close and I went to office and they didn’t fix it 😞 so I sleep like that.. just shut the door but no lock.. and second the blanket sheet when I was about to go sleep and take out the blanket it was a bubble gum big one sticking on the blanket and it’s look like the it’s was there long time 😟 I feel so sad because everything it was too good to be true lol 😂 for the price!! Well I went to the office again and they give me new blankets and I sleep so good and warm! Thanks, and for the price I think we Can’t expect perfection.. just work in those two things and you will be a 5 stars ⭐️ place to stay and cheap!
