Guest Reviews
- Cecilia Elena (10/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Excellent value.services delivers by serious professional people - Good value and good location. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Laundry service and airport shuttle service were the best prices available. Use them. Cleaning staff was truly great. Conscientious. The ladies making the breakfast each day did a very fine job. Well done It’s loud like so many guest houses in urban areas. The sound within can be bothersome. Elevator. Guests.

- Pangilinan (8/5): Very good -
- Joshua (7/5): Good -
- Vasco (8/5): Super friendly staff, would come back! - Super friendly staff, perfect location, and very good value for money. However the hostel is deserving a renovation.
- Paul (9/5): Pleasant stay. Value for money . - Value for money. Accommodating staff. Near the tourist spots inside Old Quarter. All is walking distance
- 1204dianne (7/5): Good - We stayed in a family room for 4 nights. The location is in old quarter. Lots of restaurants and marts around the hotel and the night market is only 10mins walk. The breakfast was awesome, there were 4-5 choices. The staff in the kitchen was so nice, she prepared a take away for us when our tour was early in the morning and we didn't have time for breakfast. The beds are big enough and comfortable. However, there's a bad smell coming from the toilet or from the water coming from the sink, not really sure where the stinks come from.
- Carl (8/5): Very good -
- Min (3/5): Poor - staff is friendly the room was a disaster, it has a very strong bad smell, possibly from mold, it's almost unable to breathe inside the room. 🤢🤢🤢🤢
- Iluminada (8/5): Very good -
- Johnmcb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Perfect location, accommodating staff - Friendly and helpful staff. Great location close to the action but far from the noise at night.
- Veronika.a. (3/5): Little Hanoi Hostel - + Friendly receptionists
+ Breakfast (simple, but good) - Incredible smell from the pipes/canalization (room 402), unfortunately no other room was available
- Missing toilet paper (detail, but ..)
- Old equipment
- Meera (7/5): Good -
- Dan (7/5): Good -
- Flora (7/5): Good - The receptionists were nice and helpful. The location is good, there are lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was really good too. They also provide laundry service which was fast too. Cleanliness of the room and very old shower, not so much space to put clothes. First we also didn't get duvet cover but when we asked for it, they provided it.
- Anna-karin (7/5): Good - Breakfast is very good and they have a very friendly staff.
- Vladislav (8/5): Very good - The location, the staff, helpful and friendly. Bathroom was worn, not very clean.
- Shrey (8/5): Very good -
- Lorenzo (9/5): Superb - Staff are super flexible, accommodating, kind and helpful. The water percolates from the shower to a corner of the floor, where it sinks away. So, not a big problem, but it could use a refurbishment.
- Asif (5/5): Before you book it please get the things clarified - The location. Right in the centre of the city. The manager is helpful in managing tours. Small Space of the room. Room doesnt look like what it is seen in booking. com. Moreover the property doesnt clarify the room allotted is in the 2nd floor and accessible by stairs only. This Property has fixed cupboard without a single drawer. We didnt have toilet tissue even in the washroom. We informed the reception but didnt find it inside washroom later..
- Elliot (7/5): good for a short term stay - good hostel for a short term stay. water provided. aircon was good. shower is fixed in a weird place so you have to hold the shower head in order to wash.
only one charging socket in my room and my charger kept falling out of it
- Krizainne (9/5): Superb -
- Mukadam (7/5): Good &Comfortable stay - the location was the best, room was clean and staff was nice. the rooms need a bit of renovations, the corridor is shady and whenever there is something being cooked in the kitchen so the room smells.
- Elle (5/5): Passable - it was cheap Bugs in room , water was cold
- Aaron (7/5): Good - The location is perfect (busy road but it's Hanoi). Staff is friendly and helpful, especially Giang is super helpful. Beds were comfy, breakfast was simple but nice, we liked the fresh fruits a lot.
Good for a 1 or 2 night stay.
We had an afternoon bus and they offered that we could take a shower if we wanted, after check-out, which was very friendly. Our room on the 4th floor could really use some deep cleaning. Air-conditioning had mold on it and didn't work properly (we told staff and they immediately offered to give a fan, he said mechanic would come the day after). Also when showering the water inevitably would come all over the bathroom floor. Room was quite small.
Hostel has potential but hygiene in the room we had really needs to be improved.
- Beatrice (9/5): Good location, but noisy - Very good location, right in the heart of the Old Quarter, you can walk everywhere. Good wifi for working. The bed is comfortable, and the shower is good.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Nice breakfast. Very noisy. Our bedroom window was facing the street, and there is no soundproofing, so you can hear all the constant traffic noise (we had to sleep with earplugs).
- Clodagh (6/5): Great Location, ok for a one night stay - Great location, quiet and the staff were lovely The room smelt damp and had mould on the ceiling, ok for one night stop over.
- Justine (7/5): Good -
- Iwona (7/5): Good - Tasty, fresh breakfast, very good location, courteous and helpful staff. I recommend this location A noisy fan or air conditioner in the window would not allow the window to be opened, hot air was flying out of it and there was a lot of noise.
- Manon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ashita (9/5): Superb - Everything is fantastic.
- Malcolm (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Algirdas (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Luciano (8/5): Very good - The people who served us were really kind and helpful. Always asking how we were or if we needed anything. Great people.
- Thai (7/5): Good -
- Rebecca (5/5): Passable - it was fine for a cheap night stay Pictures don't match the room at all, bedspread stained shower sprayed everywhere
- Yahav (2/5): Very poor - location rooms are not clean
bugs and ants in the rooms and toilets
- James (6/5): Pleasant - Excellent location and friendly staff The room we stayed in had seen better days - quite a lot of damp/mould and didn’t look much like the pictures.
But was very cheap and a great location so didn’t hugely matter to us for one night.
- Fabiola (10/5): little hanoi hostel - the room was confortable everything was good
- Einat (8/5): Very good - The staff was amazing really nice and caring also really good value for money
- Lea (10/5): Exceptional - I feel so at home at this establishment. The staff are so friendly, the beds are comfortable, the showers are hot, the breakfast is delicious. They offer tours and transport. The location is really good too! I have stayed here twice now both times I came to Hanoi and I won't be staying anywhere else! Love it here!!
- David (9/5): Superb - Location perfect. Staff very help and gave good advice, nice room but no natural light, shower good. I would stay again. For the cost I have no complaints at all,
- Ella (7/5): Good - Very friendly and helpful staff. No window in the room
- Jan-robert (9/5): Superb - Great location, value for money, service minded and nice family business. A little noisy.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Location was amazing, staff were so lovely and helpful! Great starting location to help plan our trip. Lots of stairs to the dorm
- Eimear (5/5): Passable - Staff were nice and air conditioning was good. Poor location. You could hear everything that was happening on the streets. It’s quite run down
- Keok (7/5): Strategic location for a budget or hourly stay - Strategic location Need to climb stairs
- Patchaneeya (7/5): Good - Simple and 10 mins walk into the old quarter area, beer street and train street. bit old but its ok for the price
- David (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mara (7/5): Good -
- Zohar (3/5): If you don’t have to, don’t go there - The location was nice, pretty close to the Main Street
Big bathroom We booked a room with two beds and we arrived that wanted to give us a room with one bad. When we insist they gave us the original room and told us “tell me if the room is dirty”. The room is very small and the sheets were dirty
Also they shut down the electricity when we left the room in the morning and we needed to ask them to turn it on when we came back
- Farah (5/5): Passable -
- Luke (9/5): Great stay and great location - Nice room with big comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Also in a great location Nothing
- Julija (7/5): Good - The location is good, it’s in old quarters, so within pickup area for excursions and there are many shops, cafes, currency exchange, travel agencies etc. around.
You can exchange money at the property, they also help with excursions etc. (I didn’t get to use this service by them, as I had prebooked excursions with another agency).
The staff is great and very friendly
I booked a bed in a dorms room. The lockers are spacious enough for a big bag
It’s a good price and a good option if you need to stop over. I travelled around, so I basically needed a place where to keep my bag and pass some nights It’s a dorms room, so people come and go all the time. The shower in the bathroom/toilet is not separated by anything, not even a curtain, so when you have a shower, everything around most probably will get wet. A bed in a dorms room is good, if you need just to stop over or if you are able to sleep no matter what is going around. If none of these, maybe it’s a good thing to check out separate rooms
- Tung (7/5): Uncomfortable - Great location Small and old
- Ck (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ck (10/5): good - Friendly very nice
- Nguyen (10/5): Exceptional - The room is very clean, the price is reasonable, the staffs are very enthusiastic and friendly, and the service is great.
- Chew (8/5): Very good -
- Monika (4/5): Bad for dorm option - The boy at the reception is very nice and welcoming! So I stayed there and as well because I was too exhausted I stayed in dorm. There were better options to stay around with better facilities and a bit more money. There was no common room for travelers. Bathroom was very hot and aircon was leaking. It was impossible to sleep without aircon. I don't want to coment about rooms but if you think of dorm just book elsewhere.
- Ilona (7/5): Good - I only stayed for 1 night. The staff was really kind and accommodating. Location was great, walking distance to everything I was in a 6 share dorm. The beds themselves were comfortable and had curtains. But the bathroom wasnt super clean, moldy walls and such. But for such a cheap cost, i guess you pay for what you get.
- David (5/5): Passable -
- Emily (8/5): Very good -
- Nicola (7/5): Good -
- Darragh (7/5): Good -
- Alipanah (9/5): Buautiful - Bra Great
- Cathy (4/5): Good location to see the city - Good Location
Staff helpful and organised laundry for us
Nice breakfast Nothing like the photos at all
Had asked for twin room as travelling with family but given a double, unable to change this
Room very damp, mould on shower curtain, made our bags damp, sheets on bed also felt damp. Mirror in bathroom still misted over after I showered the night before
While I understand this was a budget stay this was below our expectations
- Nanna (6/5): Very friendly staff. Cold and damp rooms. - Very friendly man who owns it. Helpful and does everything he can to help you. Free breakfast on the day of a day tour if you booked through him. Perfect location. It was very damp in the room and freezing cold (end of February beginning of March). The bathroom seemed to be forever damp. A lot of noise from the street. We booked a day trip to Ninh Binh through him. We choose three specific places to see - however we got on a tour where two of them were changed to something else and there was a lot of chaos getting to the bus to go in the tour as the bus couldn’t come to our hotel. Not too sure if the price was worth it.
- Stefano (5/5): Passable - located in the old town humid and smelly. pretty expensive for the level.
- Anatole (3/5): Poor -
- Joel (7/5): Good -
- Rouquet (8/5): Very good -
- Milat (10/5): The hotel absolutely perfect - Everything was perfect no complaints at all Nothing ..everything was so good
- Antoinette (7/5): Pleasant stay - Friendly staff, helped me book transport, able to check in early, always a smile Noise from the street, bright lights outside the window made it difficult for me to sleep well
- K (5/5): Passable - Arranged vehicles and guided us on set an itinerary. They charges more price for ha long bay cruise as $60. But later interacting with people on cruise we got to know that many were changes $50. On discussing this with Mr. River(owner) he started arguing on this. But we felt we were charged more.
- Sattanathan (7/5): Good -
- Anet (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was nice, breakfast was good, the AC didnt work and the window to the other part of the building wasn't enough, so the private room was super hot, humid, and there was mold at the walls. I guess it depends on the room you will get, the other one we saw from the corridor seemed to be much better
- Delphine (8/5): Very good -
- Virginia (8/5): Very good -
- Naveen (8/5): Nice little hotel in a prime locality. - The location and the staff. The train street, the beer street, everything is within walking distance. The washroom is a bit cramped up and the commode toilet is too small.
- Parpar (7/5): Good - The price is affordable I requested lower bed but they gave me upper bed
- Anna (7/5): Ok price for value - Super centric, everything close by, the staff was super friendly, the breakfast was ok. The room really doesn’t look like in the picture, not really big, mold in the bathroom
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandra (8/5): Great!!! :) :) :) - Great value for money. Seriously. GREAT!!!! No issues had a lovely time staying here and they helped organise transport for us to get to Ha Giang which was super helpful :) thanks N/A
- Tietze (4/5): Disappointing -
- Timetravelller (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was amazing! So helpful, friendly staff. Even organized taxi for as on spot. Food was amazing!Room was just what we needed..no noise and good clean beds! Would defenatly stay again!
- Imogen (8/5): Very good -
- Jamie (9/5): Superb - This place is in a great location, the rooms are clean WiFi is ok and the staff here are amazing. For the price you are paying this place is perfect. I would stay here again. Nothing really
- Karin (9/5): Superb -
- Paulo (10/5): Exceptional - Lee and others, helped me and other customers at all time! This made it a very pleasant stay at little Hanoi hostel! I'm planning on coming back.
- Rejean (9/5): Superb -
- Phallyka (5/5): Passable -
