The photographer was very good with my daughter. The hotel in general is very beautiful. The location is isolated from most things, so best to have everything you'll need with you. Staff were very thoughtful and the butler WeChat service was brilliant. The sauna/steam room were a bit of a let down. Maybe because it's not peak season. The pet paradise was not as great as we expected, but it was nice to see the animals

- Jin Joo (10/5): - I enjoyed the pool and spa. The room was spacious and well maintained. However, the best thing I appreciated is the kindness of the staff. All staff were nice, but Leo Liu helped me amazingly. He asked me if I needed anything and made sure that I was enjoying the facilities and activities. He made my day. Really appreciated it. Because of him, everything at the hotel went smoothly.

- Carlos (9/5): Like being inside "The White Lotus" TV Show - The hotel was as beautiful as it can get and the environment was perfect. The room itself was amazing and clean. The staff was really helpful and the food was very very good. Special mention to the spa, all treatments we got there where the best I've ever got. Apparently we went on off season, which is nice so it wasn't crowded and cheaper, but there were many things not available such as the bar or some of the restaurants.

Great view of the green mountains from our room, peaceful and well-kept resort ground, the food at their restaurants are top-notched too. Not forgetting, their spa services are excellent. There is a mini pet zoo within the resort ground, it is very well maintained. The staff at this resort are all very helpful and kind. Highly recommend this place if u wish to "recharge" yourself.

The hotel butler, Leo Liu (刘俊灿) has provided an excellent service. His attitude was very professional and his services were extremely efficient. Even when I had an urgent request at 1am, he still managed to reply and provide services. He has been a star Will definitely visit Banyan Tree Beibei again soon.

- V8259FFmichaelk (2/5): Potentially nice property with very poor maintenance and service standards - Right now less than 24 hours in on a 3 night stay, and I have to say, this Banyan Tree's service standards are well below any property I've been at in the Banyan Tree Group, and as an Accor Platinum member really turns me off from the group as whole for having seemingly very low quality control over their properties after staying at another neglected Angsana just recently. Finished a gym workout a few minutes ago and had asked for a little milk for a protein shake as there wasn't store in walking distance and was told to pay 60 RMB + service charge for a glass of milk, LOL. I didn't say anything at that point and walked away, but I've been at properties, even budget properties such as holiday inn express, much lower grades, all around the world, and a little bit of milk was always given for free when asked when there wasn't an accessible supermarket nearby. This all despite the fact that Accor Platinum and Diamond members are supposed to be entitled to a welcome drink (or welcome drink vouchers), and we've got two rooms, and of course given nothing as always. Let me start with some previous observations others have made, yes, the property is definitely showing signs of neglect which matches the owner's other abandoned and falling apart construction sites nearby. In the rooms, wall and bathroom tiles are missing or darkened. I've seen quite a few floorboards are rotting away around the property. Between the two rooms we have, one room missed out on most toiletries, the other missed out on towels. When approaching a number of different staff with questions or help, you are treated as an inconvenience with rude or snappy attitudes. On arrival, was directed to eat at the Chinese restaurant for lunch around 1pm, except it was closed well before closing time, and looked like it hadn't been open in a while? Went to the other restaurant down the hall and was told to go back to the closed restaurant. Seems even the staff don't know what's going on with their own property.
- yandao02 (10/5): Hot spring visit with welcoming arms from the friendly staff - Visited the hot spring at the resort, service from the staff was really good. I did not book in advance as this was my very first time. But the staff still warmly welcome with open arms as anyways it wasn’t crowded. The hot spring has the right temperature and the swimming pool is natural water without chlorine and extremely clean. The staff mentioned each of the room comes with its own indoor hot spring pool. I would definitely visit again and stay at this Banyan Tree Hot Spring resort!

The decoration is Chinese retro, in which the hot spring is very pleasant, and the water quality is very good Service: very good attitude, the details are very well done. Food: quite a wide variety of choices, from Western food, Chinese food, and local Chongqing specialties. Very enjoyable!

Most of the guest are locals so do not expect the staff to speak fluent English. However If you can speak chinese the staff will be very helpful and will provide great service. the hotel is absolutely amazing starting from the location: is immerse in the nature. The architecture is great, very beautiful. I will go back for sure!
- Weizenx3 (4/5): Disappointing Experience - I've been to the area a few times and usually stay at Bolian nearby. Banyan attracted my interest by its lower price offered recently and I decided to try out. Turned out to be a mistake. The location is bad. It's hidden alone behind the mountain from the town - requiring some 20 minutes mountain ride from the Beibei town. This is excerbated by recent road construction - where cars from both sides must wait to take turns. It's almost impossible to get a car - even by online booking - unless you reserve it one hour in advance, which is understandable given the traffic. The view is half-good. If you turn to one side you will see beautiful hills in morning fogs. But as soon as you turn to the other you will see unfinished/deserted buildings extruding there. Service is mediocre. I complained about a high frequency noise in my room in the evening - which was quite disturbing. And it took 30 minutes and another call for the technician to arrive, who soon found out that the noise came from the lighting and the only way (and an easy way) would be turning off the lights. I obliged. Next morning when I was checking out I mentioned that Accor members can accrue points at Banyan resorts and I have left my membership numbers on record when booking - I was told that the number on the record cannot be accessed and I need to provide the number again. Begs the question why they prompted to leave a number when booking. By the way Accor status doesn't do anything here. The hot spring itself is unremarkable - just like plain water. The resort nearby offer better water quality. All in all, a disappointing experience.

Get upgraded and the room is good. A little confusing about the air system but all find with the help. The view is great and very private. - uxmomo (10/5): One of the most beautiful stays I've had in China - Domestic holidays get pretty predictable in China once you've been here for a while. The journey, the celebrations, the rituals, the noise, the food, the return. The money. I can picture most of my past experiences as I type this, hah! While in middle of a long visit to Chongqing, we decided to visit The Banyan Tree in Beibei. I wasn't too sure of using the last few days of our trip to Chongqing to do this, but to my delight, the long drive from downtown didn't disappoint! What a gorgeous experience we had. Leon, the GM was very attentive with us and gave us a tour of the complex while they were preparing our villa, and then he explained all the hard work that goes into keeping the property to always give guests a strong sense of privacy, comfort, and quietness. What a mindful guy! He felt like a good old friend, rather than someone trying to make us feel welcome. It's a small nuance that I remember like it happened this morning. :) Their villas are very spacious and have very good amenities. They feature top-line Bose sound systems, and Bang & Olufsen TVs, as well as very well equipped mini bars and bathroom amenities. All details are considered, as you would expect in a Banyan Tree property. There is craftmanship in the construction of the villas in every corner you look, from the balconies in the villas, to the ceiling inside the master bedroom, to the lighting at night in the swimming pool. Their SPA experience is fantastic! We had a 90-minute body massage followed up by a foot massage. We spent probably the entire afternoon in horizontal position. Best thing ever. The property is very far away from pretty much everything, so you're stuck with what they have. This would typically make me a bit anxious, but all their food offerings (We tried 2 restaurants on site) and cocktails were very decent! The complex is so large that they even have a little animals zoo where you can feed all sort of tiny friends. From rabbits to peacocks. The journey to Beibei was worth it. The celebrations we had while on site were delightful and memorable, the rituals with the locals having a big BBQ at night, the noise of celebrations for the anniversary of a couple at the dinning table, the food we experienced both in the restaurants and our villa, and the return to the noisy city of Chongqing, made us realize how important it is for big cities to have places like The Banyan Tree. The only sad part of this is that we live in Shanghai, and unfortunately we might not be able to come back for a long time. However, if for any reason we end up near Chongqing again, we'll definitely make the trip.
- sunsun69s (4/5): Overpriced with very poor software - went to stay on a SAT night in april when the weather was dull and rainy. very slow check-in, getting no miles even I was paying more than rmb 2200, the reception clerk asked me for Accor Card, which i still don't have one. from the dampened outdoor to the "cozy" lobby, spotted there wasn't a matt to remove extra moisture. usually i call this "wet-market settings". quite surprised to find that at BT. was assigned a villa graced with a hot spa. the room (or villa) is of approx 130 sqm (too big as i was staying alone). things seemed ok at the beginning when I checked in after-lunch. then upon returning to the villa after dark, the near-zero light from the villa gate to the bedroom was "swampy" and there was simply no way to avoid those "water mines" on the ground. it could have been better if there were proper lighting for the short path from the villa gate to the bedroom. guess, someone has been saving money or it was technologically challenging to do it. so guess everything has been formulated around the idea of get "soaked" and nothing else. the work desk has electric-powered phone which showed the wrong time and requiring special button-pressing to take or end a call. chinese menu wasn't available (guess most of the guests are english-speaking). the side of the desk has 2 power sockets which were "preoccupied" with the lamp and phone power cables. so i had to unplug one of them in order to find way to power up my laptop (guess only me was unhappy about this). i wonder if people go there just get soaked, get laid and nothing else. really funny setup, even though the price tag exhibits its positioning of deluxe lodging. unfortunately the software and many amenities are dampers to the original service pledge.

- LISA (10/5): Beautiful Banyan Tree! - How beautiful Banyan Tree is! It sits on the side of the mountain Jinyun. Our room is very charming and calm with a hot-spring at the balcony! There is a amazing garden on the first floor. 悦榕庄静坐在重庆北培缙云山侧，美丽的环境、舒适的房间。每间房都自带温泉池。底层有个非常漂亮的花园，慢慢欣赏可能得耗两、三小时。我是重庆长大的， 长期定居国外，有机会享受悦榕庄，是我这次回国过年的一大惊喜。准备9月间带朋友再住悦榕庄，顺便将金刀峡逛了。
- TravelCQ (8/5): 2nd time... still ok - Had a good 3 day stay here. Nothing has changed really from last year. Well, the hotel is falling apart a little bit more than last year. But that's expected under the zero-maintenance regime. Stayed in a hotel room this time and actually enjoyed it more than the villa. For convenience. And even the hotel room has the hot spring pool on the terrace so what else do you want. The public hot spring area was in a more dilapidated state than a year earlier. Wonder what's it gonna be like in a year or two. Actually, in a way I'm waiting for Banyan Tree to back out of this property. It really doesn't meet the standard. Feels like the entire place is rusting away. Food is not bad. Chinese restaurant, the hotpot and the breakfast buffet. You gotta have the Dan Dan mian from the noodle stall. Wow.
- CherryC8 (10/5): Private Hot spring - This Banyan Tree is a bit differ from the others. The location is at the hot spring area. There is no private swimming pool inside the room but there is a private hot spring. Although it is not that cold in Chongqing in Jan (around 10 degree), it is good to enjoy hot spring, especially the hot spring is at balcony of the room. The hotel design is very traditional Chinese style. I stayed there for three nights, and I did not see any overseas tourists. All the guests were Chinese, and many families with small kids. Because of this, it was a bit noisy in the restaurants, at the corridors and in the gardens etc. In general, the facility and services are good.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Hot Spring weekend - Its a world class resort - Managed by Banyan Tree, a very new hotel. However, during the weekend we arrived the city was having natural gas issues. We were unable to enjoy the public bath areas. The rooms in the main building are still under construction, so you will be woken up by the contractors which starts at 9am. Hopefully they can finish all the construction so there won't be disturbance to the main building. The Villa areas are not completed either, but its further away from the main building, the sound is less disturbing. The staff are all very polite, and well trained. The hotel may need to have more amenities so that in-case the hot spring is not functioning, they can provide other activities for guests. Over all great experience with minor kinks that the polite staff have helped manage. Thank you, and will come again.
