Guest Reviews
- Andraous (2/5): - I would like to start my review with extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Ms. Mona, the receptionist, for her warm welcome and exceptional service. She demonstrated the highest level of courtesy and professionalism, which made my stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you from the heart, and I wish her continued success and prosperity.”
I stayed at this hotel and the experience was quite difficult. To reach the hotel from the taxi drop-off point, you have to walk through very narrow streets, climb many stairs, and go up hills for about 7 to 10 minutes. There is no direct transportation to the hotel, which makes it very inconvenient, especially with luggage.
The hotel itself is the smallest I have ever seen, and it was not very clean. The rooms were extremely small and uncomfortable. The staircase was so narrow that I couldn’t even bring my suitcase up to the room. It only fits one person at a time, going up or down. Because of this, I had to leave my suitcase downstairs near the reception, and whenever I needed something, I had to go down, open it in front of everyone, and take my things. The reception area itself was very small and the hotel is extremely old.
The area is in an old market with no easy access for cars or taxis, which was a big problem.
- Michael (8/5): Very friendly hotel - The hotel is centrally located and typical for Chefchauen. The guys were incredibly friendly.
- Francisco (10/5): Very good - Very good location , friendly staff and helpful, clean and quiet place .
A very colorful Riad hotel in the center of Medina ..
- Jin (10/5): - When checking in, I get the hotel manger's phone number right away. I can text/call her anytime whenever I have questions. She speaks English fluently so I don't need to worry about the language barrier in Morocco, which troubles me often while I'm traveling there.
- Marilyn (8/5): - The Riad staff was extremely helpful especially Fatima, Sana and Husson. I could not have made my connections without the three of them. Thank You Again.
- Barbara (10/5): A Gem in the Blue Pearl of Morocco! - What to say? Our 2 night stay in this Rihad was one of our best experiences during our Moroccan trip. Sanae, our hostess, was warm, welcoming and generous with her time and energy. Her communication in advance was excellent, too. We so enjoyed the cozy feel and our generous breakfasts during our stay. Thank you, Sanae!
- Sandra (10/5): - the best, the attention, they make you feel at home, I love this hotel
- Jacqueline (8/5): Right in the middle of the Blue City. - Beautiful blue city. The rooms were up several staircases and the hotel was up even more. The staff met you at the central hotel Parador where cars had to park and carried your bags to you room for a small fee - well worth it.
Rooms were quaint with local decorations. Fruit and pancakes for breakfast. No fridge or kettle. Many restaurant options nearby but easy to get lost. Wifi patchy.
- Marguerite (8/5): - The properties manager, Sanea was very friendly and exceptionally helpful. My husband enjoyed the Hammam
I would stay again as it was in the Medina which was great
- Magaly (10/5): - Sanae was a great host along with her staff. The property is homey and breakfast delicious in true moroccan style.
- Helene (10/5): Top!
- Richard (10/5): - Hotel Casa Miguel is nicely located just off the main street of the medina. Sanae contacted us in advance to arrange a smooth transit from the bus station to the medina gate to the hotel. She and the others at the hotel were kind and helpful. The breakfast was very good. In short, we happy to have chosen the Casa Miguel for our stay in Chefchaouen.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful rooms and amazing breakfast - The guesthouse has very nicely decorated rooms with wooden floors and ceilings. Staff is very friendly. They operate a second hotel which is more modern. We quite liked the older one. Had the whole house to ourselves as there were no other guests. Location is not an issue because the town is small. From there bus stop take a taxi to the City gate North of the Medina, not to the parador hotel where drivers usually drop you. It's shorter to walk.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Hotel Casa Miguel is awesome - I highly recommend Hotel Casa Miguel. The staff was extremely hospitable. I made a mistake booking the room and the manager fixed my problem. The hotel is comfortable and in the heart of Chefchaouen.
- Belkacem (10/5): - The property was so nice, clean very quiet ,and it is in the heart of the city where you get to enjoy the traditional style of the shafshawene city. Even the traditional sense of the property and its rooms it is unique, plus the warm welcome from the staff.
Generally it was a nice experience.
- Soufiane (10/5): - Parfait surtout l'accueil
- Nikki (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay here. Very cute hotel tucked away off to itself. Peaceful and very quiet. Staff was super friendly and welcoming.
- Sean (8/5): - once the hotel people arrived we really enjoyed their hospitality.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - not actually like the photos in the expedia website.
- Cloe (8/5): - We stayed at the Annex, not the main house. The location of the Annex is ideal- an easy and straightforward walk from the Square where the Kasbah is located. The property managers, Sanae and Wassim, are welcoming, friendly and helpful in providing information about places to visit and things to do in Chefchaouen. Both speak very good English so communication was easy and non-problematic.
The property has potential to be an excellent one with more attention to maintenance details. Overall though, the property has a very pleasant ambiance that made for a very enjoyable stay. We would definitely recommend this property to others!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Stay - Very friendly staff, fantastic hotel located right in the old city.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was a great hotel! The lady Sara I think her name is was amazing and greeted me with open arms. Overall great location and great building. I recommend to stay here.
- Romain (8/5): Pas mal - Tres bien situé, petit dej tardif. Belle terasse
- Verified traveler (10/5): A fun base to explore the medina from. - We were warmly welcomed and the stay was very nice. An early breakfast was provided to accommodate us. A beautiful convenient accommodation in the medina.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay but not great. - The sheets in our room were damp so it made sleeping unpleasant. The staff was friendly and breakfast was good. But the hot water for showers ran out quickly also, and 3 of 4 of us (in two rooms) took cold showers. The location was convenient enough, except to get luggage to and from the hotel, which is difficult because there are no cars within the touristy part of the blue city. The view from the rooftop was great.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I realize there isn’t much choice in Chefchouen, but this property was a bit challenging for my older parents as it was at the top of the city (on a hill). The bathroom wasn’t completely separate for the room so it’s not good for sharing. It was pretty dark and damp. I’ll stay somewhere else next time I bring visitors.
- Dani (10/5): Beautiful hotel, central and lovely staff - Beautiful hotel, really glad we picked this for our first night in Morocco and our only night in Chefchaouen. We came by car so we'd parked up at the hotel Paradour which was the closest to the Medina we could find and called the hotel for directions. We were only a few minutes walk away so Omar came to meet us and took us back. Overall it's easy to find and there are sign posts to make it easier too (which cant be said for the majority of hotels hidden in the Medina!). Lovely room, authentic feel and a great view over the rooftops.
- KIT WA (6/5): Difficult to find the hotel - Taxi from CTM bus station to the main square is 15DH. You need to walk up to the hotel. When we reached the hotel, the staff suddenly advised that we had to change to stay at another hotel (without pre-advice). It's not good. A staff brought us to another hotel. Simple, not very clean, friendly staff, strong wifi, hot water.
- VS (10/5): Nice hotel great location - Very nice authentic hotel in great location just steps away from the main square! The riad has a special Moroccan home feel and the staff makes you very welcome by offering mint tea upon arrival. Only stayed for one night, but was a pleasant one and woukd definitely recommend this riad to friends and family!
- Linda (2/5): Total Disappointment! Ended up declining to stay - We arrived at the Casa Miguel, went through the registration process immediately and were then told that we could not stay there although our reservation indicated this was our accommodation. Instead, we were taken to another location called the annex. Rooms were small, dreary, dark and extremely uninviting. These rooms were not reflective of the pictures shown on the website. Although we ended up leaving our money was not refunded. We were told to deal with Expedia.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Casa Miguel - Lovely, spacious, clean room with great ensuite facilities, with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Wouldn't change a thing.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Chefchaouen - Doing renovations so our room was in an annex. Loud, poor condition and no hot water. The staff was very, very helpful which kept it from being a disaster. No warning about the renovation.
- Romi (8/5): Annex Room OK - We chose a "basic room," and we were taken to their annex building, about five minutes away. The young woman who checked us in was very enthusiastic.
- Joyce (10/5): Bbeautiful Hotel in the blue city - we arrive to the blue city and the Hotel was very easy to find and close to everything, the staff is great specially a very sweet girl that work in the front desk , very nice and sweet with us. The hotel decoration is beautiful, the rooms have everything to make you feel comfortable. they have a small terrace that is perfect to relax after shopping. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will love to come back also.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Communication could be improved, as we emailed with some questions before our stay and never received a response.
- Megan (10/5): Such a great place to stay! - We just loved staying here while in Chefchaouen! The staff were kind and welcoming, the hotel was so cute, the room was large and clean, and the breakfast each morning was wonderful. We had such a great experience and would highly recommend this hotel to other visitors.
- Jazmin (10/5): Love the hotel! - It is such a nice hotel. It is clean and close to everywhere.
- Jazmin (10/5): Nice hotel! - The service was excellent and the food was alright! It is super clean and close to other places.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The staff is wonderful, helpfull - Everything was good and they were so nice. Thank you
- kenny (8/5): Perfect spot, great staff. - We had a delightful stay. The staff was friendly and efficient. No surprises, no waiting. We had a wonderful stay.
- jJane (10/5): Wonderful staff with a good location - We added a third person to our group and they accommodated us on a holiday weekend. The employees were wonderful. We all had a lovely time.
- Randy (10/5): Beautiful and quaint facility. Wonderful staff! - The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and spoke English very well. This is a quaint and charming riad in a great location. The free breakfast was terrific, and all the service was wonderful. The room was very nice with a nice window for fresh air. It was a very peaceful place to stay. I would highly recommend this riad and would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Overall good option - clean, spacious, comfortable - My husband and I had a good overall stay at Casa Miguel. Our room was really comfortable, cute, and clean. The wifi was adequate at best (could have been better), and the staff was overall helpful (in particular, they were nice about us checking in later in the evening since we were coming from Fes). We got a good deal at Casa Miguel from hotels.com, so if given the chance at the same price, I'd stay here again, but for more I'd likely choose another option among the many places to stay in Chefchaouen.
- Europe Africa 2017 (10/5): Europe Africa 2017 - Hotel service was great. But do take note you will need to get up quiet a steps in order to reach the hotel as car do not really stop in front of the hotel. we had a help to Mohd who managed our luggage on arrival and departure. Hope was very cozy and feels Moroccan.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent stay - Flexible and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast at the top terrace was amazing.
- L Taylor (10/5): Wonderful Stay! - We had a great stay! Chefchaouen is a very small town, so everything is in easy walking distance. But Casa Miguel was located a few streets away from the main tourist square (close to the river, hikes to a waterfall, and parking at the top of the city gate) which made the streets nearby lovely for walking, observing, and taking uninterrupted photos of the amazing blue walls and doors everywhere. The hosts were very friendly, helped us with anything we needed, offered welcome juice & a lovely breakfast each day. The room was nicely decorated, had a big comfy bed, and a great bathroom. The terrace and lounge areas were lovely as well. Can't wait to come back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Blue city - Our stay was great. There were no open rooms at the main hotel so we stayed in a separate building, the annex. This was fine and despite a short wandering walk to find the main building for breakfast it was still staffed 24hours. Great location in the blue city, minutes away from the center of the town.
