• Kerry (10/5): A great place for a romantic weekend at Montville - A good spot for a romantic getaway, with other cottages far enough away so you don't hear or see anyone else. Its just down the main road of Montville so nice and close to all the shops and restaurants of Montville.
• Leah (7/5): Close to everything and with the vistas view on the top rooms, made for a wonderfully relaxing weekend. Definitely recom - For the first time ever the actual place was better than the photos! The views across the ranges are incredible. The sound of the waterfall in the pool is so relaxing, I could have stayed out there all day! There was a fair amount of dust I’m sorry to say, particularly in the bedroom. Also we wanted to stay an extra day but had no response back from the owners.

• Paul (7/5): It was convenient location on the way through. - Good location, old but tidy and clean There were no towels in the room and no one to contact to get some . The stair lights didn’t connect me on till after 7 , we came in at 0630 and struggled in the dark to find the rooms and stairs .

• Butcher (6/5): Lovely facility, poorly maintained, no on site staff, drive for any food. - Room was good size, nice layout ,beautiful treed rear garden and pool (unheated) They went to great lengths to to highlight actions that would result in penalty charges being added but did not say that you had to enter the accomodation via the rear of the unit, so unit identification picture showed units from front but key would not fit lock, swipe card had nowhere to swipe, instructions clearly stated if you phone because you didn’t follow instruction you will be charged. No staff on site office closed ( 10AM). What do you do? Fortunately there was a cleaner who politely advised walk around the other side of block of units and enter by back door. The very next customer had the same problem. better instructions would solve. Poor maintenance, missing both door handles to bathroom, outside and inside. Rear sliding window jammed open could not close. Corner grouting to bathroom tiles missing just required regrouting. (Unit No. 23)
• Klare (3/5): Unclean and inadequate. - It’s in an absolutely beautiful location The facilities were dirty, not just a bit of dust, weeks worth of dust, grime and dead bugs that had not been adequately cleaned. There was no tea or milk in the room, when we asked staff we were brought 3 teabags as that was all she could find! There was no lighting at night leading down a narrow pathway to the cabin, very disappointing all round

• Natasha (6/5): Rainforest cabin that needs a refresh. - The bed was comfortable and bath tub a lovely addition. We arrived in the dark. There were no lights at all down to the cabins along the path or car park. We had to use our phone torches to see the way and find the cabin. It would have been helpful if the outside cabin light had been put on for our arrival. The smell of damp and mould hit before we even opened the cabin door. We sprayed with Glen20 to try to freshen the room but Could smell it throughout our stay. The dining table and china wasn’t wiped down or that clean. Perhaps because there was no dish cloth provided. The cabins need a refresh!
• John (10/5): The best motel I have stayed in. - no expence was spared in the room, curtains, reading lamp, utensils etc, it was like a separate bedroom, dining room and lounge room. fantastic shower head, the best motel room I have stayed in. The outdoors was beautiful. Highly recommend. the bed was not their fault as I suffer from arthritis, my problem not theirs, my wife was very happy with the bed.

• Christine (9/5): Great stay in a beautiful part of the country. - The units at Clouds are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The location is ideal. A lovely quiet spot 2-3 minutes out of Montville in a stunning part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Very good value for money. We arrived at 6 at night so contactless checking was a good thing except that the doors to the units are at the back of the complex. We spent some angst ridden minutes at the back doors of the units before exploring in the dark with our phone torches to find the entry doors. A few lights at the entry ( rear) doors would have been useful.

• Sam (5/5): It was passable to stay, but many concerning factors. - Lovely view, good location and property was maintained outside. A lot of dead bugs in the room, some dishes weren’t clean, the shower was filthy with bugs and paint chips on the shower floor. Toilets stained also. A lot of dust in the room too, did not feel clean at all. No staff on site and no matter how many times you call the given number, no one answers for help. Also was a little bit concerned that my name, room number and key was available for anyone to see in the lock box. That’s slightly worrying especially staying with our young child.

• Joanna (3/5): - Beautiful views from the main building. Heading away for a peaceful weekend, Clouds Retreat Montville looked like the ideal place to stay. Unfortunately, this was not our experience. Not all of it was negative, but it’s worth sharing so others know what to expect and so the owners are aware of what needs attention. We chose to stay in one of the cabins. While the seclusion was nice, it felt quite dark and had a strong musty smell. Overall, it was very underwhelming. Cleanliness was a major issue and clearly a build up over time. There were cobwebs, critters, dust and dirt throughout. I had to scrub the bathtub before I would even consider using it. It did not feel like it had just been missed between guests, it felt like it needed a seriously deep clean and a lot of TLC. There were maintenance concerns, including broken decking and damaged wiring on the balcony railing, which did not feel safe or well maintained. The outdoor shared areas were just as neglected, with seating covered in dirt and leaves that looked like the grounds had not been tended to in quite some time. Overall, while the location is lovely, the condition and cleanliness of the cabin and grounds did not match the price point and left us disappointed. We hope these issues are addressed, as it has the potential to be a lovely place to stay.
• Douglas (10/5): It is a great location with very easy to use and comfortable facilities. - The property sits in a nice quiet area with a great view out over the coast. The facilities were good quality and the staff that we saw were friendly. The check in process was remote and worked very well. The addition of the fold out sofa was tremendously useful. The unit was cleaned and well laid out. The parking was very convenient even though not under cover. It will be good when the renos are done and food is available on site as it is away from the main town centre although that is a short drive away.

Total Communication Failure: The out-of-hours service was unreachable during check-in, and the management has ignored all follow-up correspondence for three days. 2. Serious Security Breach: A master key was left accessible in a lockbox, allowing anyone to enter any room in the building, which created a major safety concern. 3. Check-in Negligence: Despite following instructions, the promised keys were missing, nearly leaving us stranded. 4. Disorganised Booking Management: The hotel incorrectly claimed we arrived a day late and failed to acknowledge written proof that our booking dates were correct. 5. Lack of Accountability: There has been no attempt to resolve the issue or provide a refund despite the significant stress and inconvenience caused.

• Deborah (8/5): Lovely place to stay - A young backpacking couple arrived at 6pm to find no envelope in the safe except 2 door cards thats opened all our room doors.Some other guests trying to help no answer on afterhours but noticed a vacant room for them upstairs...most upsetting for them and guests...poor management. Kettle in rm 21 a bit flimsy and seemed unsafe. Bed very comfortable and TV easy to work

• Pamela (4/5): - The view from the cafe balcony. Unfortunately the cafe was not open and appeared closed permanently.. The swimming pool looked good The room had not been cleaned properly. The toilet was brown. The cups had brown coffee stains. Underneath the waste bin were long black hair indicating the floor had not been cleaned. On further inspection the bathroom floor had also not been cleaned. There had been no inspection And in reporting to a young woman in charge of Housekeeping a teatowel and Chux cloth was supplied for washing dishes. Very poorly managed.

Thankfully I went out before dark so saw it before I might have fallen through & thankfully didnt have my 4 year old with me this trip. Very dangerous & unacceptable especially for $300/night! Very disappointed, and appreciate a refund.

We were room 23, the people staying in the room, next to us were playing loud music at 1am in the morning which could be heard through the walls even though the walls are sound proof, this was really annoying as none of us could sleep through it, we didn't see any staff when we checked and, and also would be nice if I could notify someone to tell the people next indoor to turn their music down. And the cafe and restaurant being closed was a huge downer.

• Peter (7/5): On this occasion, only OK. - The property is well located to explore the surrounding area. It was spacious and the view on a clear day would be quite nice. Bit of a gripe, but when a property has been advised there is to be a planned power outage I would expect that information would be passed on to guests. It was not, so we woke up to no lights, and also no water, since it was pumped via electricity. So no toilet either. Not a great way to start the day.

• Andrea (8/5): My day was pleasant, relaxing, homely and easy. - No breakfast available. Location very easy to find and handy.. I like the layout of the rooms and the view. I like the balcony and the pool. This unit was a little bit unclean and I found it awkward to try to plug the microwave in. I had to literally pull it out to get the cord unstuck which was difficult to balance and then the code barely reached the PowerPoint. The microwave had to stick out a little bit to be able to plug it in. I suggest you get a power socket put in behind the microwave so nobody has any accidents. it is still my favoured place to say.

We arrived , to pick up our key out of the lock box like everyone else , no key in our name , then phone it says to ring goes to message bank , we left after trying for 30 min . Thinking where are we staying tonight . I kept Trying to cal constantly then someone answered . we turned around drove back , they have a back up key , for times like this . so we had a bed for the night . If there isn’t going to be no one on site , you need to answer all calls , The room had everything you need . But look nothing like the pics .
